Down the Dark Street

Bandomeer - City Park - One mile from Border Alliance Headquarters
0100 Hours Local Time​

Cameron often found himself the last to leave his office. The truth was, he worked much better when the place was quiet. He walked to the rack by the door, and clicked the gun belt he always carried and put on his coat before clicking the lights off in the room.

The streets of Bandomeer were empty as he began the two mile walk home. He could have taken his speeder, but the cool night air gave him a chance to think. A chance to clear away the stresses of the day.

He had not seen a single person as he entered the park he always cut through about half way through the walk.

A thin fog began to fill the night air as he walked down the stone road that led through the park. The only sounds disrupting the gentle whistling of the night air was Cameron's boots hitting the the road.

The path stretched out straight for sometime. Trees and Orange Lights alternated down the road, providing enough light to see easily.

[Where]

Zaylow had landed his ship about three miles back, he was sent to hunt down and capture a target named Cameron... Zaylow had to be sneaky however, the sith were not know about in the galaxy yet, and he had no intention of revealing it yet.

As Zaylow was hiding inside an alleyway he saw Cameron in the distance. The sith began to creep up on Cameron, until he was about 10 meters from him. At this distance Zaylow thought he may be able to end this man's life quickly, but what fun would that be. Instead, Zaylow put out his hand in an attempt to use force persuade. "You want to stop right here." Zaylow uttered as he was waving his hand.

Cameron got an odd feeling that he was being watched as he moved down the road. A few seconds later the hairs stood up on the back of the man's neck as he heard the man's voice. He had been trained to know when someone was trying to influence his mind. He felt the icy fingers of the Force touch his mind, but he had been trained to resist such probing.

His right hand went to his gun as he spun, pointing it at the man who stood thirty feet away. His finger was on the trigger and only a slight twitch would be required to send bolts toward the man. He eyed the young man, his gun still trained on his chest. "I suggest you move along." he said in a harsh tone of voice.

While he was speaking he reached his free hand behind his back in case he needed his other weapon to do with this threat.

[Where]

Zaylow had been discovered, it seems his plans to make this fun was a bad decision. He could tell this man meant business as he had the audacity to pull a weapon on him. Zaylow put his hands into the air acting as if he had surrendered, and said "Excuse me is there a problem?" Zaylow would wait for the man's answer, if Cameron looked like he was about to shoot, Zaylow would use telekinesis to pull the blaster from Cameron's hands.

He maintained his grip on his blaster. "Who are you and what do you want?" he asked.

Cameron looked the man over for any visible sign of weapons, but couldn't see any. He knew that man could wield the Force so he wouldn't be surprised if the man wasn't armed in some sort of way, maybe even having a lightsaber.

He shifted his weight to his toes as he prepared to react in whatever way possible. Cameron wasn't a paranoid man, but this was just unusual enough to put him on edge.

 

[Where]

Zaylow quickly came up with a tall tail and told Cameron "I am a jedi, the order sent me to investigate you and your men at this base. The rumor was that one of your men is actually a spy, it was also said that you could possibly be this spy." Zaylow put his hands down and walked closer toward Cameron and whispered to him "I could use some help in my investigation if you would like to join me?" Zaylow was chuckling to himself in his head at the cleaver lie he had created.

Cameron let out a laugh. It was laughable that a Jedi would come out to investigate him when they had no ties to the Jedi. "The Jedi don't give a damn about the Border worlds of the Republic, and I can assure you I don't give a damn about them." he said still holding the gun.

"I am done playing your games, kid." he said pausing taking a step forward. "Slowly take your lightsaber and toss it towards me. Then turn and and place your hands behind your head and get on your knees. If you are truly a Jedi we will get this sorted out, but now you are being detained." he said his voice teeming with authority. There was no hint of a question in his command. "Now!" he yelled a second later.

 

[Where]

Zaylow began to take out his lightsaber, but it was no ordinary saber. The hilt had a special button that when pressed would cut the lightsaber in half, connecting the haves by a cable. When he took out his saber he pressed his button, igniting his lightsaber and extending it's reach. He then swung the extended saber at Cameron's weapon, in an attempt to destroy his blaster.

As the man ignited and began to throw the saber, Cameron jumped to left as he fired three shots at the man's right shoulder. He rolled, dropping the blaster and reached for his sonic holdout blaster, came up in a crouching position near one of the trees that lined the road. The roll cleared him of the thrown lightsaber easily as they were just under thirty feet from one another.

He stood and ran towards the man, staying close the side of the road. As he ran he let out two shots with the weapon he now held in hands, aimed at man.

With his left hand he pulled out his own lightsaber, igniting it as he ran. The familiar orange glow accompanied by the humming of the energy.

 

[Where]

Zaylow expected retaliation and dodged the first of Cameron's blaster bolts, but the last one grazed his shoulder. As Cameron rolled behind the tree, Zaylow retracted his lightsaber. Suddenly two sonic blast came toward Zaylow, one hit him in the leg but the other was a lucky miss. As Cameron rushed forward, Zaylow used Force Destruction and blasted the energy strait at this man. Afterwords however, Zaylow would be quite drained from using this technique.

Running it was more difficult to aim the sonic pistol, his first shot went to left, but his second shot struck true on the Sith's left leg. The sonic burst would shatter the bones in the upper leg and possibly cuase further internal injuries

It would be impossible to stand on the leg. He somehow managed to conjure the energy to send out a powerful wave of energy, but the sudden loss of use in his leg cuased the wave to go off course to Cameron's left. The energy obliterated the a tree and wall off to Cameron's side. While the blast didn't hit him directly, it flung him backwards and to the side.

His body slid on the stone road. He had scraped his head on the road and he fell which caused bleeding, but he managed to deactivate his lightsaber and not impale himself. He groaned as he pushed himself up. His back throbed dully as he stood and blood dripped down his forehead from a cut. It was possible he would have a concussio .

He walked towards the man with the shattered leg, stopping briefly to pick up the blaster pistol from earlier.

The Sith looked drained and must have been in a great amount of pain from the injuries he had received.

Cameron breathed heavily as he spoke. "Now, surrender before this leads to your death. You aint running anywhere on that leg, kid." He said aiming the sonic pistol at the man's chest.

 

[Where]

Zaylow's leg was quite damage he wouldn't be able to dodge this next shot. As much as he hated it, he was drained of the force and had no choice but to surrender. "I should have killed you when I had the chance" He uttered with anger. He retracted his lightsaber and tossed it to Cameron. "There, not what...?" He asked.

Cameron stopped the lightsaber with his foot as it skidded up to him. It sure didn't sound like a Jedi, perhaps a mercenary assassin, or perhaps a Sith. It would confirm the worst fears for the Border Alliance. His back throbbed and he now noticed a slight wheezing sound as he breathed. It was possible he also has a cracked rib.

He looked into the glowing red eyes of the younger man sitting in front of him.

He clicked over to the stun setting on his Sonic Pistol and shot the man in the chest. He fell the ground unconscious. "Could have been worse, kid." he said

The night was silent once again as the High Commander looked over the unconscious man. He picked up his comm and punched the numbers that sent a signal to his the Senator of Bandomeer and fellow member of the Border Alliance, Augustus Roderick. He waited until a somewhat groggy voice answer back. "James, round up some guys and meet me at the park on the South side of the city." he paused trying to catch his breath. "I was just attacked by a..." he paused trying to decide what he was. "..a..someone with a lightsaber. He is unconscious, but we need to get him secured before he wakes up." he paused feeling the large cut on his forehead "and bring a damn medic. Quin out."

He put away the Comm device and checked the Sith quickly to make sure he didn't have any more weapons, and watched him until more men arrived to properly secure him.

"Lets get him back to HQ and find out what the hell this actually is about." he said as they began to load him up.
