Manufacturer:
Blackwell Technologies

Type:
Droid Antivirus

DESCRIPTION
The Droid Firewall upgrade was constructed by Blackwell Technologies, a galactic leader in security tech (among other things as well) in order to patch up vulnerabilities in the software for droids against viruses, known mostly in the galaxy as 'dataplagues'. The Firewall Upgrade doesn't have any physical components, it's merely software installed into a droid's system, same as antivirus software for a terminal. The common method of installation is via datacard.

The firewall will safeguard the droid well enough against class 1 data-plagues with ease and without issue, being able to block the infection and delete the virus as it tries spreading itself. Class 2 or 3 dataplagues, defense is not guaranteed although as it does have a good chance of blocking the infection attempt however.

Against a class 2 data-plague the defender will roll a d6 dice each round where infection is in progress . A 5 roll will prevent the dataplague infection from progressing, but a roll of 6 will delete the infection attempt and seal it's connection away.

Versus a class 3 dataplague would truly put the firewall to the test, the most dangerous and often sophisticated of them all the defender would roll a d10 dice each round. A roll of 9 would prevent the infection from progressing, while a 10 would delete the infection attempt and seal the connection to what trying to infect it

This software can protect against dataplagues whatever it's source, be it a inserted datacard or other plug in. The software still can't protect against good old fashion physical slicing however.

These firewalls were designed for droids, although these can be applied to computer terminals as well, defending them from infection. Although not the most expensive piece of software, this still doesn't come cheap and requires a monthly subscription to Blackwell's service.

LEGALITY
Legal

INTENT
To provide the site with a droid upgrade, however niche it might be. Could make for some interesting encounters with npcs or pcs using dataplagues. But aside from that this droid is mostly flavor, but still might come in handy, and people can have a chance to have fun with dice for this.

RESTRICTIONS
Can not be used with droids with custom armor profiles.

ANCIENT GREE (FORMERLY)

O V E R V I E W
jake-griffith-jake-g-ar.jpg

'Theta' is a name coined for this grey world by Blackwell Technology's Research & Development when the first found and explored the world. Theta is a grey world that lies in the Unknown Regions that is uncharted and unknown the greater galaxy. What was discovered about Theta is that it was was a home to the ancient Gree, a colony world. The ancient Gree disappeared from the planet for reasons not discovered yet, but traces of their former existence still linger across the planets, their ruins and their technology. The planets name while it was a Gree world appears to the ages however.

C L I M A T E & T E R R A I N

Theta is a very bleak planet to say the least. Theta's climate has mostly rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. The grey skyline is mostly dominated by clouds as well, either normal white ones or dark ones. The climate also stays a bit on the chilly side as well and freezing rain occasionally happens. Fog and mists are very frequent as well.

The planet's terrain make-up is mostly made up of grey-green colored forests, plains, grasslands along with with mountains. The planet does have seas, oceans, rivers, here and there. The planet is abundant with flora and fauna that is as unusual from everywhere else in the galaxy as it is hostile.

H I S T O R Y

The world Theta was once inhabited by the ancient Gree long ago, around hundred-thousand years before the Battle of Yavin. They had very advanced technology, possessing exotic technology such as the Hyper Gates. The Gree had cities set up on the planet.

But by the time that Blackwell Technologies researchers came to the planet around 100 ABY, the Gree weren't there. They established a space station above the planet as their man research base. The Blackwell researchers never quite figured out the reason for the disappearance for the Gree, nor what time they did so. But the ruins remain however, as the cities and facilities that the Gree are now had ruins with abundant overgrowth as nature has reclaimed them. They gave the planet the designation 'Theta' as the planet's true name is lost to the ages.

All members of the Blackwell expedition team have perished however, in an attempt for them to re-activate one of the Hyper Gates they found underground below the main city's tallest spires. The planet remains uncharted and unexplored to the galaxy at large, even to the modern Gree. Despite this, Tiamat and Newton Arden found the lost Gree world and found the Hypergate there in what appears to be the Gree's old capital city.

F L O R A & F A U N A

Interesting wild-life lies on Theta, even though the planet is mostly grey it does have some colorful herbs and flowers, such as bioluminescent flowers the Blackwell team dubbed as "Bright Lilies'. There are a number of other exotic flowers yet to be discovered by the Blackwell team.

The wild-life on the planet is mostly hostile, with some quadrupeds that are viscous and capable of deafening screeching with their odd-shaped mouths and sharp claws.

These spider-beattle type creatures are small and numerous, they lie in wait in the dark, frequently inside long abandoned ruins that eat the flesh of other beings.

R E S O U R C E S & T E C H N O L O G Y

Theta, even though the Gree have been long since gone; still carries on the legacy of the ancient Gree that called it home. Inside it's ancient ruins, remnants of their advanced technology can still be found, their technology still considered advanced yet arcane by the standards for the rest of the galaxy. One Hyper Gate found is broken, but potential still lies for it to be repaired.

In terms of other resources, the planet has various metals, minerals, fuels. The planet as well as some exotic, strange herb flowers. Notably, the Blackwell expedition did a large kyber crystal hanging above near where the Hyper Gate is, and there is a strong likelyhood there are more elsewhere.
I N T E N T

This planet was made up for mine and Gaba's adventure for the treasure hunt event. Now that there is an story arc going on, I thought I should have made a write-up for the planet where it started, just in case there is a need to revisit.

Also as a note this is an uncharted world, only @Newton Arden and @Tiamat have have knowledge about the planet (and anyone they would tell about it), havinb been there before.

DESCRIPTION
The Void-class space station is an old design by Blackwell Orbital, a branch of Blackwell Technologies that architects and builds various space stations. This design dates back centuries and receives updates in design as technology marches onwards with the core design being intact however. Regardless of when these are made, they are built to last, being able to survive for generations with proper maintenance.

The Void Stations have six arms, each form a small city. Those as well as the core combine to form a large city. The core of the station houses more of the government functions with the very top the control center of the station. The six arms hold the bulk of the population and the various faculties, including dwells and other various civilian structures. The arms have reinforced transperisteel, so that the station's inhabitants can look up and see the 'sky', the void of space. The artifcal climate system gives the station a breathable atmosphere.

The Void-class Stations were first designed to be built with everything needed to maintain a self-sustaining population. To this end the Void-class possess recycling facilities so no waste will go to waste. Hydroponics facilities so the inhabitants can grow their own food. Manufacturing facilities can produce products on an industrial scale as needed, such as small craft, droids, vehicles .etc. The science facilities further research in various fields as needed, and the medical facilities are well equipped to treat and heal the denizens aboard these stations. Resources such as metals/fuels/.etc that the station isn't able to produce on it's own would have to be gathered by outside means, such as mining or trade.

To ensure protection against the harshness of space, the stations have heavy plating, reinforced transperisteel, and dual heavy shield generators. The stations have 12 laser cannons for self-defense, 2 each on the arms, top and bottom. With the defenses, the void station can hold out against typical pirate raids, especially with supporting units.

The Void-class Stations were first commissioned by a eccentric trillionaire from outside the Mega-corp to be able to house a large population an a remote, ungoverned area of space as part of a project, although they could be used for other purposes; such as being used to supplement populated worlds, be used as trade posts .etc. Also, the max population for the stations are 207,500, it is possible to exceed this although it would put greater strain on the station.

LEGALITY
Legal. Possession of one in a governed system would need permission or special license from the system government.

INTENT
So, heavily inspired by Stellaris' Habitats. But making this to serve as a baseline city space station. Also wanting to make a lore behind a specific one of these that was made a thousand-ish years and it's people would have adapted to being on one of these for generations and having a culture emerge. Also compared to other space stations that were already approved to help with scaling.

RESTRICTIONS
Obtainable and/or buildable by factions or characters with faction-level resources with threads with staff oversight.

Kax Khan didn't have a normal childhood, as a kitten he was sold to the Hutts as a last ditch effort to pay off debt owed towards them. But the Hutts were insistent that they used actual money, although they would take the kitten, his parents were enslaved until they worked off their debt. Cex doesn't even remember his parents or that he has any to this day.

In the meantime, Kax was raised by the Hutts, he was brought up to be a gladiator for entertainment. It was not a pleasant childhood when you are pretty much a slave for the entertainment of others. When Kax was a teenager, he picked up his first weapon. His first fight in the arena was against gladiator droid and the young Kax was beaten and shot and almost died. But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, Kax barely survived the ordinal. He was treated in a bacta tank, and inside he knew he was weak, and resolved to get stronger, so he can defeat the droid. He would no longer be weak. After he recovered, every waking moment was devoted to training. His resentment and anger fueled his blood lust, he would go on to utterly destroy the same gladiator droid in a rematch, bashing it with an axe until it was nothing but little bitty spare parts.

Kax would go on to fight in more gladiator matches and would win them all. He would grow to revel in the fights. But he had enough. Now that he was strong enough, he could take the same axe he used, kill the Hutt's Duros bodyguard, and then cleave the Hutt himself into bits. And just like that he was free, he had the freedom to do whatever he want.

In the years that followed, Kax would join the Five Syndicates as a scoundrel. He does jobs here and there. He also works as a bounty hunter at times as well. There is hardly anything Kax won't do. But what then? Being a fighter for hire doesn't seem fulfilling enough... Maybe there is more he can put his mind too, the Five Syndicates have grown increasingly stagnant as of late. It's time to change that.

Kerr Saxon had as normal of a childhood as any Mandalorian can get. He lived on the ruined planet and his prospects looked bleak. Growing up he went through all the rites and rituals, keeping the tradition alive in the immediate family. But as he would grow up, his prospects would look bleak as he served as a warrior. There was talk about reuniting the Mandalorian people and bringing glory again, but the sands of Mandalorian continued to flow, nothing happened.

But then there was that day that the Sith brought ships into Mandalore, blotting the sun with their ships. It was that day things changed.

For the first time in a century, a new Mand'alor was named, he spoke true and with confidence. Never in a century has a Mandalorian spoke with such conviction. And he was determined to make good on his words. The next thing he knew, Kerr was on his way to Lothal. Better to fight for a grand cause rather than languishing on Mandalore until he dies.
