DESCRIPTION​

The DG-29 heavy blaster pistol was a model of heavy blaster pistol produced by BlasTech Industries originally released to the market during the Imperial era. The DG-29 was side-loading and sported an image magnifying macroscope for long range shots, complementing it's impressive range of 50m. Produced around the same time as the classic DL-44, the DG-29 was a member of the much lesser known DG line of blaster pistols. A more high end series notable for its durable and well-weighted design, it was popular among dedicated gunslingers and bounty hunters for being able to go through significant abuse and continuing to fire. The slide open reload and ability to purchase individual models based on the user's handedness allows a skilled handler to reload the weapon while in certain holsters with a single hand, which the manual insists is definitely not recommended for safety reasons. For ease of readying the weapon to fire, the safety lock is located near standard thumb placement.

The barrel shroud is coated in a layer of heat-dissipating Dallorian alloy, the tip of which often gains a polychromatic sheen from frequent use heating the barrel, referred to as 'slingshine' by those in the know. The sound of the weapon firing is distinctive, a resounding snap that resembles a mix of blaster and old-fashioned slugthrower. The shroud also contains an integrated toggleable magnetic accelerator that bypasses restrictions by being classified as a focusing array, as the accelerator is used at a lesser power for that purpose when toggled off. Though the default blaster packs use the common blaster gas, packs that use higher quality gas producing bolts in green, blue, or yellow can also be purchased. Each pack contains both blaster gas and power required to fire the weapon.

The design on the barrel handle can be customized when ordering to include personal symbology in a variety of galactic languages, and the grip can be easily removed and replaced with any design of the owner's preference. Though an older model, both used and new examples can be found and purchased from a variety of places, including BlasTech itself.

LEGALITY​

Legal. Ownership of blaster pistols is not restricted in most of the Galaxy, however openly carrying such a weapon in public might be on more "civilized" worlds. On less civilized worlds, it still might draw unwanted scrutiny.

INTENT​

To introduce a stylish weapon from Canon originally seen in the Han Solo movie as an alternative to other weapons with similar stats.

RESTRICTIONS​

The barrel shroud is required for the weapon to fire at all and cannot be modified or have other attachments added to it. The weapon cannot accept modifications that alter firing action in a way similar to a magnetic accelerator, including an additional magnetic accelerator.
