Bri grinned at Fiach's preparations, and pressed the lowest button on the control panel, opening the air lock between the two ships with a loud hiss. Vapor clouds erupted on either side as the door slid open, complaining with a few creaks and groans as it did so. The Jedi slowly stepped forward, walking slowly. The ship had a stale smell of old electronics, which combined with the inconsistent lighting, created an uneasy atmosphere. "Good thing this isn't creepy," she joked dryly, trying to get a bearing of the ships floorplan.

Just after entering the next corridor, the commlink crackled to life with Byron's voice. Bri paused, listening to his message, before turning around to offer a knowing glance at Fiach, after the mention of a battle droid. "Understood," she replied back, "looks like we entered on the lower deck, so we'll make our way up to the bridge." It appeared that serendipitous timing had resulted in some other group attempting to take the ship at the same time as the Jedi. It was most likely a coincidence. Probably.

The Jedi honed her senses to try and reach out as far in front of her as possible. In the tight confines of the ship's corridors the Jedi would need every advantage in overcoming a sneak attack. So far, she hadn't felt anything. Letting a small train of thought run through her mind without completely distracting her, Bri pondered on the motives for why they had been attacked. Maybe it was over this lousy ship. Or maybe there's something else here. The Jedi paused as they reached the end of another corridor, finding a ramped hallway leading up to the bridge.

Fiach took another deep breath. Old ships could be temperamental. Old ships that had been left for an untold period could be doubly so. Throw in the fact who knew what tampering might have gone on – or even asset stripping – and you had to be triply careful. Or should that be quadruply? She shook her head and made a mental note to check out the correct terminology later.

She followed in Bri’s wake. Fiach had always been the logical sort. Throw in a lack of emotions and things like ‘creepy’ didn’t enter her psyche. But she understood the concept. Her Master had asked her to watch contemporary holoflicks and so genres like horror were familiar to her.

The talk of heading to the bridge orientated Fiach’s mind to where they were and the most likely route to get there. Fortunately, it was not a convoluted journey, as at the end of their current corridor was a ramp that would take them to their destination.

“It might be worth plugging into the ship’s computer if we can. To find out what happened to this vessel and if there is any record of entry after it was marooned here.”

Byron waited for his jedi companions to board the ship. The man used that time to try and calm himself and focus. The adrenaline would dessipate and Byron would eventually feel the tiredness that came with it. But for now they were still in the thick of it.

None-the-less both Fiach and Brienna joined him onboard the gozanti freighter. Together they swept the rest of the ship and did not find any remaining surprises. The cargo hold however seemed to have a breach on one of the inner bulkheads. Further investigation showed that it was likely the haxion brood droid that Byron had left on the bridge.

Spending the rest of the time getting the ship to at least jump to hyperspace, the trio would be able to get the Gozanti to limp back to civilized space. What Byron was wondering about was who piloted that TIE fighter. But the man doubted that would get answered anytime soon, if ever.
