Overview

Government

Desevro's government is classified as an Oligarchy, ruled by the few, a mere handful of prominent business enterprises, Desevran Noblesse, and underworld affiliates known as the 'Thirty-Seven Families' While much has not changed regarding their rule, they are however chaired by Moff Ayindri Za'til after a series of agreements and accords bound the elite few to the Brotherhood and their new Moff. The day to day running of the world remain in the hands of the Oligarchy, the Moff stepping in on planet-wide and other majorly important matters. And above all else, the Oligarchy ensures that the Brotherhood get a cut of whatever profit and gains there are to be had.

Culture

The culture on Desevro can be construed as a melting pot of diversity. Many species of the wider galaxy call Desevro home, or at the very least a port of call due to its being on the Perlemian Trade Route. Despite the number of races living upon the world, there is an underlying sense of speciesism among the majority of human citizens. Despite this, many aliens visit or live upon the world. With inroads being made to alleviate the backward sentiments.

Desevro is diverse in its offerings to the public. Pod & Swoopbike Racing is a favored past time with various big name events tied to the dangerous activities. Grav-ball, a contact sport utilizing three-dimensional courts and teams equipped with hoverboots try and score against the opposing team. While somewhat violent, the sport is favored by many citizens and newcomers alike to name but a few. Perhaps one of the biggest past times on the planet is gambling. Sporting many establishments, both seedy and lavish, these casinos see an amazing turnout hour by hour or day by day. Thanks in large part to traders, the casino scene has exploded within recent decades diversifying from standard practices to also being harbors for bets on racing and athletic sports.

But of course with the coming of the casinos come the seeds for a growing underworld. Smugglers plying their ill-gotten gains on the Perlemian often sell black market goods behind the scenes in the lesser known wards of the cities. While not a huge problem, the arrival of smugglers also sowed what would become the various gangs, mafias and other criminal elements winding their way into Desevro's burgeoning underworld. The Oligarchy and Moff know of this, and in fact encourage it. Taking a page out of the Hutts' book with Nar Shadaa.

Technology

Desevro's technology is on par with the rest of the galaxy. For specific ships information, refer to the Sith Brotherhood Technology thread.

Places of Interest

Maslovar

Maslovar, capital of Desevro by far takes up the majority of the vast urban sprawl of the planet. It is here that the government make their headquarters. The center for trade of all sorts can be hand in the various wards and cantons. Near the Swamplands, Maslovar's bulk almost intrudes upon the hushed primitive terrain. It is here that the outer slums and industrial sectors reside with a gradual transformation taking place the further one travels within the megacity. Cosmopolitan centers dot the mid-rim and interior, casinos of all sorts, restaurants both cheap and filling intermesh with those upscale and lavishly expensive. Despite the glamor and glitz, sections of the mid/inner-rim play host to some of the planet's less than reputable members of society.

It is here in Maslovar that the night truly takes on a life of its own.

Jigani Port

Jigani, the world's largest spaceport is rests on a rocky ledge above Maslovar's sprawl and overlooking the swamplands. The spaceport itself is also a hub of activity of all sorts. Legitimate and the Darker enterprises utilize its vast docking facilities to both lift, or deliver their goods. The soaring central spire of the Port is a massive orbital elevator connected to an orbiting station. From its orbital point, the station provides a number of services for the planet below. Services provided include repair, orbit to surface transport as well as stationary orbital defense and tertiary communications hub.

Outer Wash

Well beyond the Swamplands and interior, the Outer Wash is a hub of mineral and ore extraction. It is here that Desevro's mineral wealth is mined via deep-crust mining, droid crushers and laser/sonic mining techniques. While there are organic workers, a majority of the process is overseen by various droids and automated systems. Smelting and Alloying is handled on site With it being a rather large operation, the Wash has its own small-scale spaceport for transporting of finished goods.

The Inner Wash

Considered a metropolis all its own, the Inner Wash is a large-sized city. Considerably smaller than the planetary capital, the Inner Wash is still a bustling center civilization situated around two-hundred kilometers from Maslovar

Base: Sierra Lima & X-Ray Delta

Situated within the mountains of Desevro along the equator, these bases are concealed through being constructed into the very mountainous region itself. These bases have modest contingents of soldiers, communications/sensor monitoring equipment and assault shuttle transports for rapid response. They also house their own limited number of X-57/X-57b Starfighters for atmospheric and low-orbit sorties. While stationed on Desevro, the soldiers are occasionally rotated out due to a desire to discourage a dulling of their exemplary skill.

East Wash

Nothing really happens in the East Wash, or at least it hasn't in many years. This is due to the area being considered a 'Ghost Town', long abandoned structures and infrastructure dot the region of the East Wash. It is however regularly patrolled and fauna kept to a minimum due in part to Maslovar's desire to rejuvenate the region.

Defense Fleet

Considerably smaller than those of other more important worlds, the fleet that regularly orbits and patrols around Desevro is made up of a detachment of War Leviathans and a few flights of X-57 Starfighters. The War Leviathans are regularly rotated out for other SBZ duties and naval programs.

History

Colonized sometime prior to 25,300 BBY, Desevro was the capital of a small confederacy on the borders of the burgeoning Kingdom of Cron. Eventually years later, Desevro would fall and be integrated into a larger Empire that would eventually become the Tion Hegemony. Ruled by an Oligarchy led by the Thirty-Seven Families, the planet flourished. A couple of thousand years later, Desevro would take part in several skirmishes with the Kingdom of Cron, and eventually come to butt heads with the Republic itself.

By 24,000 BBY, the confederacy with which Desevro was a part of entered a war with a then young Galactic Republic. Both capitals would repeatedly utilize pressure bombs, a weapon that releases a vast pressure waves when detonated upon each other. Unfortunately for the citizens of both worlds, this aggression would last for well over a century. The tide would turn against the smaller intergalactic entity with the Republic's usage of a newly launched naval fleet and by turning the Hutts upon them. Vastly outnumbered, the smaller nation attempted surrender only to be rebuffed by the Republic.

What came next was a horror to the people of Desevro. The Republic, desiring to make an object lesson of Desevro by sterilizing the planet to the remaining Tionese. Death tolls spiraled to the hundreds of millions, but eventually upon the broken and battered surface the bombs stopped. Satisfied, the Republic left the Desev System, its capital world a guttering cinder.

Eventually by 23,900 BBY the Tion joined the Galactic Republic with the world of Tion as their Capital. Desevro, still recovering from its bitter humiliation refused to join the crowd and remained independent. Becoming a political backwater even by Outer Rim Standards. Its cities began a precipitous decay. Native Desevrans became staunchly pro-human, and this continued up until the sector's conquest by the Sith Brotherhood. By this point in time, Desevro had begun seizing at its former glory, reinvigorating its cities and industry. Affluent Traders began appearing, Desevran goods soon being sold on other worlds. As it received much needed capital, the Oligarchy pumped it into the economy, determined to utilize any and all techniques to generate revenue. Be it through gambling, industrial dominance or exploiting mineral wealth of Desevro and its sister worlds and moons.

The Outer Wash, once an uninhabited area soon found itself the proud owner of a vast excavation delving into the world's mineral wealth.

The Brotherhood themselves soon came to an accord with the Thirty-Seven families, bases were installed upon the world to ensure compliance to the ratified policies. A small fleet bolstered the defenses, and a new Moff was installed to oversee the Desev System. Currently the Moff and Families are working together to establish ties to the black market of the world and take advantage of the influxes of rare and hard to come by goods.

Intent

Basically to provide some elaboration on the world itself since it is somewhat sparse. Also to provide the Brotherhood the opportunity to make inroads with some of the criminal element of the galaxy that has taken root on Desevro. But most of all to present another place for everyone to be able to RP and enjoy themselves.

Hello! I shall be gentle with you, as I am known as a gentleman! (or as a Poop Fairy). Either way, I would like you to be more specific on the resources, as well as the raw materials in the exports. Durasteel and phrik are two vastly different materials, for example, so we want to avoid vagueness as much as possible - a tip for future tech creation. Other than that, this profile looks good to me.

I amended the 'Raw Materials' to Raw & Processed Materials. Including in Brackets what it referred to. As for the 'Ores and Minerals' section, I'm not wholly aware what all goes into making Durasteel or Duranium, so I left that intentionally vague. ^^;
