Bespin, 1800 Hours

It wasn't Asheeks idea to go to a fancy dinner, its not something she had done in the past. But it was her idea to find a place on Bespin, the place where they had first met. Of course, her looking on the holonet was fruitless without heavy amounts of help from Kai, so any surprise she wanted to have was lost long before the date was even supposed to happen. But, she did manage to make a reservation at a rather reserved establishment, that seemed quite vehement on their 'no shoes no service' policy. Asheek wasn't about to let it disgruntle her, as she instead simply convinced them otherwise through some mystical means.

But she managed to do something herself, something she was quite proud of. She had put together a dress made of pelts that would be seen as elegant in a very tribal and alien sense. It was even complete with a ring of fur around the neck of the outfit, of a light gray animal. No doubt the dress itself was made from several species, and knowing her, she had hunted down every one of them herself. In a fashion true to her nature, she still refused to wear shoes, her bare, red feet properly cleaned before arriving to not track dirt or other grime.

Upon her head sat something of an odd nature, something obviously tribal in nature, something functioning as jewelry. Thin strands of string went around her montrails, against her flesh in a dark brown color. In three places hung little glistening things, which appeared to be bone of some kind, whether tooth or claw. She had no brought her Lightsaber Pike, simply because she did not believe that it would be needed in such a setting, as well as the fact that it was not an easy thing to conceal.

Regardless, it was probably the most formal that Kai had seen the Togrutan, especially considering his past experiences with the Togrutan, where she found no issue in changing clothes in front of him. If it wasn't for those familiar facial and body markings, it might have been difficult to recognize the red skinned alien.

As they entered and took a seat, she had been meticulous in choosing a seat that allowed them vision to the darkening outside of the planet, and the endless ocean of gas below. She had chosen the seating not just to see the impressive sights of the swirling gases below, but to also, hopefully catch a glance of the native Beldon, or other such creatures that lurked below the formless surface.

A male Zabrak, the one who had led them to the table, handed them both menus, glass, rectangular, thin devices that holographically showed food and its description. The only parts that weren't the translucent material was the gleaming, metallic edges, that kept the table from scratching against it when placed down. "Food and drinks are ordered through these devices, please enjoy your meal." The Zabrak stated with a friendly voice. He was dressed in a formal uniform, and his face bore dark, tan tattoos that complimented his skin tone quite well. His horns were quite large, and well kept.

As he walked off, Asheek looked down at the device, scanning the foreign, unreadable words of Basic for a symbol, one she remembered for all languages. Using just symbols she recognized, she changed the devices settings to show words of Shilian translation. Giving a smile to Kai, she began to look through the choices of food, giving brief glances into the crowded restaurant around them. "Well, this is certainly a change of pace." She remarked, believing that, for at least an evening, she could relax.

After their trip to Shili, where the young Jedi Master had done his best to encourage her and help her face a wild Akul beast that had ravaged and practically destroyed Asheek's village, and then helping her with the relocation of her tribe as well as making sure she didn't hurt herself after she received her injuries from the beast, Kai was expecting a talk of some sort from the Togruta about what happened, what he did to encourage her. Surprisingly, they had remained busy enough that she never really asked it or brought it up to him, but he could feel it on her mind, pushed aside quickly enough as to be ignored. It was there, he could tell, she just didn't want to face it yet. After Asheek went to Geonosis and returned with some new wounds, she needed some care, but Kai knew she was ready for the next step and that conversation they both had been wanting to have.

So, once she was healthy again, Kai approached the red-skinned alien with a bit of a proposition; he took her on a date and they'd have that talk about that moment they had shared on Shili. Though Asheek initially seemed reluctant to go on a fancy dinner with him, she at least seemed more than agreeable to going on a date with him. Or maybe that was him just wanting to read into more than there really was. In either case, Asheek decided to go to Bespin for their date. It wasn't Naboo, first of all, something Kai could get behind, and it was the location where they met and Kai brought her into the Jedi Order. Needless to say it was a world that had a lot of meaning to both of them, and it was also quite beautiful in that perfect, picturesque sort of way. With his help she managed to find the sort of expensive, high class restaurant that the upper echelons would visit for dinner.

Walking into the restaurant with Asheek on his right arm, and a small black box, about three centimeters wide and thirty meters long and tall under his left. Asheek looked beautiful in her pelt dress, it was perhaps a bit odd, maybe even a bit of a faux pas to some snob somewhere where fur and such was out of style or taboo, but for Kai who had lived with Asheek and her tribe for several days as they tried to relocate them, he found that they looked lovely on her red skin. The jewelry she wore on her head a nice departure from the rather simple and austere choices she normally had. Kai himself was wearing a black top with a mandarin collar and a double-breasted front. Matching black trousers and black leather boots finished it off. He looked classical as far as style, but it was an old fashion that was hard to mess up.

Once they were led to the table, Kai nodded and thanked their host, looking out the window and the golden-orange sun which was just now started to set on the horizon. A warm orange light filled the restaurant filled his face. He was about to comment about the view when he looked back to Asheek who seemed to just have figured out the language feature. She gave him a smile and he gave her a smile back, nodding in agreement he replied, "Yes, it is. I bet neither of us would have guessed this would have happened the first time we met here all that time ago, huh?" He snickered a little, one hand on the black case he had brought with them, a finger tapping the cover. "It's nice, though, right? It's a nice change of pace, a pleasant suprise, no?"

Looking over at the case he had brought with him he looked over his options for a few moments letting Asheek respond before adding, "So, there's a few things I wanted to bring up, today, Asheek."

Asheek gave a small laugh in response, if she had been told where she would end up on the day she first met Kai on Bespin, she wouldn't have believed it. Her laugh momentarily flashed her teeth, carnivorous in style, lacking blunt surfaces, designed purely for meat. It would be quite obvious what she was going to order, just from those teeth alone. Over time, she had been picking up a taste for various foreign spices, testing them out on various meats, seeing how they changed the flavors, whether for better or worst.

She looked down at the menu, slowly moving her finger over the touchscreen, getting a feel for how it worked. It was one of the things she had learned, how to operate basic technology without much assistance. All in all, however, she was still quite bad with technology, and lacked any sort of natural ability with the complex inventions. She saw that, on the device, a small check list was on the left side of the screen, labeled 'Dietary Restrictions.' With a grin to herself she promptly chose the 'Carnivore' option, before the blue images and words of the various foods that were available showed on the device.

She looked up at Kai's question on the change of pace, before nodding, still smiling. "Certainly better that my last few outings." She remarked, no doubt talking about the injuries she had accumulated. From what Kai had seen, the gashes on her belly had healed quite well, leaving no sign of the injury except for faint scar discoloration. On her right headtail, where she had been injured during an event where Kai was not present, had healed in a very similar way. The jagged cut on her headtail now just faint discoloration.

On Kai's last comment, her brow raised, quite curious as to what he meant. She had known that Kai wanted to talk about what had happened on Shili, but that was a singular thing. What else could he wish to talk about? "Well, I'm all ears, Kai."

Seeing her eyebrows raised at him, Kai's cheeks blushed a little. Not a whole lot, but enough to see that her comment had made him a little embarrassed, though why he felt that way was completely a mystery even to himself. Taking a moment to regain his composure, Kai looked up into her yellow eyes. "Alright," he started, pausing for a moment to gauge Asheek's surface emotions. "Well, first off, I'd just like to say I'm very proud of you. You've become quite the woman, strong in the Force and wise in her own way since we first met on this floating city all those moons ago. You're a very competent Jedi, and I have no doubt you'll be great one day not too far in the future." He smirked at her, "Secondly, I know you're probably curious about the thing that happened back on Shili between us. It's been on my mind a bit, and I just haven't been sure as to how to approach it, but after seeing what you did there, and hearing your report of your fight on Geonosis... I think I have a bit of an answer which will make it easier for my part."

Standing up, he grabbed the small black case. Walking over behind Asheek, he opened the case and pulled out what was inside. A piece of jewelry, simple, but elegant, very much like Asheek was herself. Showing it to her, so that she may recognize what it was, an Akul tooth headpiece pound together by a silvery illustrious metal. "This," the young man showed the Togruta a piece of beaded metal dangling from the side, "Is your what signifies you as a Padawan." Kai placed it on the crest of her head, making sure it fit. Then with a swift, deft motion, Kai tore the piece of dangling metal from the crest. Taking her red hand in his, Kai placed the beaded metal into her palm. "As of this moment, you are no longer a Padawan. You are now a Jedi Knight."

Leaning forward, Kai gave his friend a kiss on the forehead, "Congratulations, I hope you like the headpiece. I bought it on Shili while you were recovering. It was fairly expensive, but it's real, so it wasn't that big of a deal to me." He smiled at her before heading back to his seat, his cheeks still a little rosy, waiting to see what Asheek would say before continuing.

Before he had stood up, Asheek's composure was quite steady, a content, yet curious look on her face. She definitely seemed relax, which was a large improvement over the past few weeks. As he mentioned what happened between them back on Shili, he could see a quick blush of color go through the blue sections of headtail visible. What he said next wasn't what she was expecting, and she noticed he didn't directly address what had happened.

She could feel herself growing excited. For what, she wasn't quite sure. Perhaps it was the excitement of finding out what was in the case, and where Kai was going with all this. As he opened the case, her eyes visibly opened a bit wider, obviously shocked at what he had purchased. An Akul Tooth Headdress. It was magnificent, the teeth rigid and obviously well used. These were from a wild Akul, she could tell at a single look, tamed ones in circus' had well-kept teeth, straight edges manicured for specific looks.

"Kai... This is... Wow.." She spoke, curiously observing the beaded metal as he placed the headdress on her head. It fit perfectly, going around her montrails to prevent it from falling off or moving around too much. Then, as Kai yanked the metal off, declaring her as a Jedi Knight, her blush returned once more, her headtails visibly fluctuating between colors, an obvious, heavy blush.

She moved her head a bit, feeling how it fit her, going along nicely with the bare minimum of jewelry she was already wearing. He would notice that her headtails were still blushing, more so than any other time he had seen her blush. "I..I honestly don't think I can thank you enough, for the headdress, or for the knighting." A big smile was plastered on her face. There was no doubt in her mind that this was definitely one of the better days she has had lately.

It was hard for the young Jedi not to notice the vibrant blue her lekku flashed as he stood to approach her, or when he revealed his gift, placing it on her head, then knighting her. For Kai, it felt good to do this, to reward Asheek for all of her hard work, and to give her the personal touch a close friend deserved. Nodding happily back at the Togruta, he shrugged a little. Now was the moment of truth, he felt. So, he decided to lay it out for Asheek and see what she would do with what he would tell her. Opening his mouth, a smile still on his face, and blush on his cheeks, he said, "You don't need to thank me. It really is the least I could do... I'm just pleased you like it. Besides, you earned the promotion, the headdress was just something I wanted to do for you, as a friend and... well maybe something more. If you're willing to explore that idea that is..."

Seeing how much Asheek was blushing caused Kai to grin widely, her smile made him feel a little more confident in himself and his thoughts. Through the Force Kai could feel her joy and happiness, no doubt she was feeling enraptured at the promotion, and the gift, and maybe even a little overwhelmed at his proposal. Continuing on, Kai added, "I like you, you're smart, you make me laugh, you're dedicated, and you can do things I'd never be able to do, plus you have those odd tribal traits of yours that are so exotic, and don't get me started on your accent... I love spending time with you, Asheek. It's been a joy to teach you and to watch you grow as a Jedi. I'd like for us to move forward now, not as master and apprentice, but equals, and maybe even more than just equals or friends, but something deeper and intimate. What I did on Shili was an honest showing of how I feel about you. You mean a lot to me. More than just a friend."

Picking up his menu, Kai nervously fidgeted with it as he waited for his friends response. To see what she would say about his offer. As he waited, Kai nervously skimmed the options, picking a drink and a course which sounded palatable to him. A fine meat, roasted and sautéed, as well as an expensive glass of wine which would accompany compliment the flavor well.

Asheek's grin and her blushing headtails did nothing to hide her feelings. She was excited, happy, and absolutely giddy. It was an odd feeling, looking over at Kai as something closer to equals, not as a Padawan looks up to a Master. And the prospect of becoming more than friends? It was an idea she had loved to entertain in her thoughts, but had never expected it to gain any momentum in reality.

"Kai, I'd be more than happy to explore the possibility of becoming more than friends." She replied. The blue portions of her headtails were such a vibrant blue, even for her. It was already quite the eventful dinner, and she hadn't even ordered yet. Her stomach growled, so she drew her attention back towards her menu, picking out a drink of Bloodwine, and ordering a meal of well seasoned meat from some foreign creature.

Looking back up as she put the menu into an idle mode as it sent in the order, her yellow eyes met Kai's gray eyes. "And, since I wouldn't consider this anything short of a date, now is as good as a time as any to start exploring that idea." She went on.

Outside the window, a small ship slowly flew by, going just under the building they were in. It was a Cloud-Car, one of the ships often used to get around Bespin. Several had gone by already, the only noticeable thing about it was how close it came by.

Watching Asheek grin back at Kai, her headtails a full and vibrant blue color, made him feel alive and ten years younger than he was. He could practically feel the happiness and emotion roll off of her, like him, she felt giddy, and what more he could see it on her face and in her body language. Her face seemed almost girly, despite the alien features and the fact that she was female, Asheek actually seemed almost flirty in her expression.

Hearing her words, those softly accented words, as she told him that she'd be more than happy to explore the possibility of being more than just friends or fellow knights caused him to blush as he grinned, casting his gaze downward for a moment. For a moment he found it amusing that while Asheek was blushing blue, he was blushing red. Once she had picked her meal, she looked back up at him and their eyes met, gazes fixed on each other as Asheek spoke again. Her remark caused Kai to blush again, slightly more than before as he laughed lightly to relieve some of the tension that had built up in his chest. Reaching across the table to grab one of her red hands, he gave it a gentle squeeze. "I'm so relieved to hear that, Asheek, and quite frankly excited, too. And I think you're right, this is definitely a date for us, so it would only be proper to start exploring it now."

Pulling up on the hand he had, he gave her hand a soft kiss before placing it back down. "So," he started as he noticed one of the cloud cars drawing closer than usual. "What do you think? You're a knight now, you've come a long way since we first met here so long ago. I'm sure you've had some interesting experiences and revelations you never expected to have!"

As he took her hand, he would find that, unsurprisingly, the huntress' palms were rough, well used for activity. Her skin on the outside of her hands however, was quite soft, not having seen much use. She returned his squeeze, and grinned as he kissed her hand. She nodded as he spoke of the revelations she must have had. She grinned, shaking her head with a soft chuckle.

"It's almost funny Kai, how much things have changed. Day by day, things didn't seem that different, just new people, new places. But now, looking back, it's incredible to realize just how much has changed." Her accented voice replied. "I got scammed here, quite a bit. I'm not sour about it, but I find it funny how naive I was. People asked for money, and I just handed it over without question. I'm sure I helped someone, but of course I gave money to people who didn't need it."

With another grin, she thought of something she found quite funny. It was an experience she had when Kai was not with her. "And I found something out pretty quickly. People think our teeth are venomous!" She exclaimed, her sharp teeth flashing with her bright smile. "It's a little rumor or... Tall tale? I guess you would call it." Of course, these things probably weren't what Kai had really meant, but it had got her talking.

After taking a moment to pull herself off of her own grin, she moved on to a more serious topic. "But, with the force, or the Jedi? I've figured some things out. A lot of people are out there, needing help. We have the ability, and the duty, to offer a hand." She concluded shortly. She seemed quite adamant about helping people, no doubt, Jedi or not, she was a good person at heart. "And what about you, Kai? I can't be the only one between the two of us who's learnt something from each others company."

"My dear, that's what we call life," Kai laughed a little, the smile on his face was genuine. Her recounting of how she had been taken advantage of early on before joining the Jedi caused him to snicker. "I'm glad you've changed, it means you've truly become a Jedi. And now you're not so naive either! Now, you can help people in other ways, truly make a difference, and you don't have to give them any money to do it."

Shrugging when she mentioned how people often believed a Togruta's teeth to be venomous, the Jedi master simply smiled a little. "I guess when you have those teeth like you do it makes people think that maybe they're really dangerous."

Listening attentively to the red-skinned female as she spoke of her experiences, Kai smiled politely waiting for her to finish, and giving her a affirming nod when she had. "I can't agree more. And I'm glad to see you have learned so much during our time together. I know you're a good person, and I'm so excited to see what kind of Jedi Knight you'll become. It makes me so... good? I guess? To know that this is what you want, to use your abilities to help people. As for me? Well I've learned that I really find pointed teeth and red skin to be attractive," Kai winked at her. "But in all seriousness, I think the most notable thing was that even someone who is from a tribe and not experienced with the galaxy can make as much as a difference as someone born from the Core. You've definitely changed my life, and I know you'll be a great Jedi one day, my dear."

His remark on what he found attractive of her gave him another flurry of color from her headtails, and a wide, toothy grin she was famous for. "Kai! You charmer!" She replied, the color in her headtails fluctuating. Looking towards the kitchen of the restaurant, she noticed that their food was being brought out. It was placed in front of them, before the waiter gave a small bow, walking away.

"And I've certainly learned something." She remarked. "When I first met you, I didn't find humans all that attractive. They just seemed bland to me, you know?" She gave a small wink. "But I've certainly grown to appreciate more..." She tapped her chin, trying to find the right words for it. "Human features." She had no doubt that it didn't give the impression she wanted, but either way, she meant it.

"Ah, geez.." She blushed a bit once more. "That sounded... Stupid, out loud, you know?" She gave a small grin, before she picked up her knife and fork, and began to chow down.

Grinning back at Asheek, Kai's cheeks blushed slightly at her response. With a slight shrug, he simply said in return, "I try." He gave her a wink, his eyes otherwise staring at the shifting colors on her headtails and knowing he had hit a sensitive spot. Following her gaze towards the kitchen he noticed that their food was headed out towards them. Taking his napkin and placing it across his lap, the young Jedi prepared to receive his meal. Raising an eyebrow at her when she said she learned something, he replied, "Oh?"

With a mild curiosity, he listened to her with a mesmerized expression as he listened to her accent as she explained that she didn't find humans attractive originally, but now she did. At least somewhat. But the way she said it made Kai smile, and he was unable to hold back a slight chortle at the remark. He didn't mean to embarrass her further, he was sure she had next to no experience flirting like this, and that she was simply trying to convey her own honest thoughts and feelings on the matter. Shaking his head afterwards he simply grinned, "Oh Asheek, you're adorable."

Kai could only give his friend a wink at the time as their food had arrived and both of them were ready to eat, but he wanted to reach across the table and squeeze her hand one last time for they dug in. He just hoped she would understand from his simple gesture what he meant. They began to eat their food, and he found his meal was quite good. Pausing he looked up at her and asked, "How's dinner?" Then, pausing for her to reply asked, "So, what else are we doing tonight? I think I read this place has a nice balcony with a view of the city. Or did you get us a room with a view? Maybe more than just one?" He smiled as he said it, knowing the implication would be sure to make her blush again.

She scrunched up her mouth in an attempt to look displeased, but it simply made her wide grin into a closed mouth smile. She tries to tell him how she feels, and he responds by telling her she's adorable! She can't hide her blush though. "Kai! Quit making me blush!" She responded before the food arrived. "You're doing that on purpose!" She complained teasingly.

As the food arrived, she licked her lips ready to dine in. On her plate was some form of steak, and other bits of meat, obviously designed in mind for someone with a carnivoristic diet. She ate with quite a bit less grace or manners than Kai, but for her? She was obviously trying to show some semblance of manners. At least she wasn't picking up the meat, and tearing into it without silverware, as Kai had no doubt seen her do in the past.

Looking up as he spoke, Asheek grinned in response, before her headtails flashed in color once more. "I got us a room Kai." She replied. "And I think you'll be satisfied with the views it has." Her heart fluttered, and she continued eating. She was roughly halfway done with her meal, and she thought for a minute. When she booked the room, she thought about what might happen, but honestly? She originally just thought it would be nice to spend the night there. But now?

She blushed again, and she gave a small chuckle, before she continued eating.
