With the mutated Stenax down, a wave of exhaustion washed over Kalique. She was tired, drained even, yet there was another force to be reckoned with. As their lifeless bodies landed on the ground, the cultist's hands cracked with energy before he suddenly released a force lightning.
Once again, the darkness as well as the tension within the room was amplified. Kalique stumbled backwards from her own attack, so that the lightning was already shot at Cassir before she could interfere. The squire bravely pushed against it, which made Kalique not only confident, but optimistic, too.
She already felt dizzy, but with her last stamina reserves she supported Cassir by lending him her remaining strength. With her other hand she targeted the cultist, slowly catching him in a stasis and slowing his movements so that in the end, Cassir could finally land the lethal strike.
A powerful, dark pulse within the Force was released that almost swiped her off her feet, but she still managed to stabilize herself. "Once...again. You've done very well" she blinked a few times, before she could take a few steps forwards.
They reflect on this in full detail later on, but for now they had to clear the cave and check for survivors. It took some more time to explore the rest of the underground system, but in the end they didn't just find their missing soldiers, but the missing children, too, which was why their mission was a full success.
Everyone was weakened, but still alive. They were surely roughed up, but they could lead them out and back into safety before they could call for reinforcementsand and their transports. Kalique needed rest, but she was still on her feet, watching how the kids were carefully loaded onto the ships. They'd leave last.
While they waited, she turned to Cassir. "When you countered that lightning...what did you feel?" she wanted to know, her voice rather soft but the exhaustion clearly written in her features.
