Dathomir itself has been left as a planet of mystery and superstition for a long time and for good reason. Any part of the planet has dangerous wild life. But the scouts that originally surveyed the area where the fortress will reside have gone silent. It is believed some local fauna killed the scouts. While a wild guard dog can prove useful it will get in the way of construction. Take care of it, who or whatever it is.

The Brigand slipped through hyperspace with relative ease. F0A-3 aka “Foley” made a mental note to acquire some aftermarket delimiters that would speed up their hyperspace transit. Simply put, the droid felt his acquired ship was “inefficient”. It was unnecessarily wasted time in hyperspace that simply did not need to be. Regardless, Foley was pleased with his ship acquisition, especially considering it was Bakura. On a planet where droids were seen as a nuisance and not trusted, the assassin droid had to tread very carefully. What Foley did do was slice into the confiscated ship registry and ran old First Order codes for release until he hit one. The first ship he found was an HKD-151 Light Freighter. In truth, the ship was perfect for Foley’s purposes. Regardless, it was released with an official code. Looking at the history logs, the ship belonged to a prisoner that had been executed decades ago and the register for this prisoner’s ship was lost in the shuffle. It was one of the rare times that Foley saw inefficiency as useful.

Lurching out of hyperspace, The Brigand sounded a pair of alarms alerting the droid that they had arrived at Dathomir. The droid had spoken to the Miraluka known as Orion, but little conversation was to be had. Alyse Ti’Varnus seemed to trust the man well enough, so that was plenty for Foley. Over the intercom, Foley, announced, “We have arrived in Dathomir orbit. Preparing for approach to enter atmosphere. Tracking adequate landing space close to the last known position of the missing scouting party. Please ensure you are buckled for atmospheric transition…”

Orion Shattou would be sitting in the craft "The Brigand". It was piloted by a rather curious Droid by quite the deadly one as the Assassin droid brought them in towards the outskirts of the planet on Dathomir. Feeling the sudden jolt of exiting Hyperspace the trio seemed to have reached the destination. The planet of Dathomir looming in front of them through the ships glass as the ends of the glass were a bit frosted from the coldness of space. Beeping and alarms were going off to alert the Droid that they entered the orbit of Dathomir. Orion would be sitting still in his black and white robings as always as his blindfold was tight across his face. His eerie smirk spread across as he was silent like always. A cigarra burning at the end of his lips as he heard over the intercom and remained still. He never knew much of this Assassin droid but Alyse vouched for the Droid and Orion took that with good conscience. Orion and Alyse met prior in a sparring match awhile back and have remembered her ever since.

The groups mission was simple, find out what happened to the previous scouting party and investigate their whereabouts and last known location. It seemed their transmission went out and they haven't been in contact since. Strange..Usually scouting parties are always in contact with the main group for regular updates in Military terms. Alas the Sith Eternal were sent to figure it out and report back their findings to the rest. Orion knew more then likely it wasn't a friendly disappearance and had his custom
Lightsaber (Click Here) atatched to his hip underneath his robings. Shifting his weight he would let the force guide him as he painted the picture of his surroundings and buckled himself in tight for the landing.

OOC: Sorry For the Delay peeps - work has been seriously frying my brain

Rolling her head back and forth to the side, the blonde cultist let out a long sigh from her lips as she worked out the small kinks in the muscles behind her neck. There was always a strangeness that she encountered whilst she was travelling through space, part of her reasoned that it was down to the lack of planetary gravity, relying on the artificial generators installed within the ship to keep everyone on board upright and walking on the same surface - then again it was incredibly likely that it was psychosomatic, her interplanetary travel was kept to an absolute minimum preferring to stay on world rather than off. Perhaps it was just her own body reminding her of the fact that she disliked being cooped up in a flying tin can.

Opening her eyes as the metallic male voice of Foley rang out over the ships intercom, signalling that the ship had just broken out of hyperspace and was making its break towards the crimson world's atmosphere. It would soon be time that the group would make planet fall and head out to seek out the missing scouting party, and attempt to either make contact with them or at least find out the fate that befell them. Stepping up off and away from her bunk, Alyse reached down and picked up her lightsaber hilt and tucked it away in concealed harness that sat above the small of her back, before removing a tan leather jacket off from the coat hook and threw it over a dark blouse decorated with golden floral pattern and stepping through the threshold of her living space for the mission, and headed towards the bridge.

Passing into the flight deck, Alyse cast a glance over towards the Miraluka sat fastened tightly into his seat. Alyse shot the Legionnaire a pleasant smile as she patted him on the shoulder as she passed, although she understood that Orion couldn't physically 'see', she knew well enough from how the man had defeated her during the fencing tournament, that he was able to see well enough through the various feints that she had attempted. Stepping closer towards the co-pilots seat, the blonde took the seat beside the assassin droid and fastened herself into her seat. Her chestnut hued gaze staring through the view port for a while as she regarded the crimson world grow ever larger in size, before turning her attention over towards the droid that she had some how 'inherited'. Watching as the droid commenced the preparations for atmospheric entry.

Shuddering, The Brigand forced its way through the Dathomir atmosphere. The red and brown stone formations of the wasteland began to take shape as the freighter broke through the cloud cover. Foley maneuvered The Brigand through a canyon range and within a few minutes, the ship began to decelerate. Lowering itself a to huge clearing beside a mountain range, The Brigand settled on the rock and huge sublight engines powered down. Over the intercom, Foley informed his guests, “The last known location of the scouting party is through the mountain pass to the south-southeast.”

vmF4rnb.jpg

The assassin droid made his way back out of the cockpit and lowered the cargo ramp at the back of the ship. With a wave of his hand, Foley reached into a weapons locker and withdrew a long sniper rifle and strapped it to his back and walked down the ramp. Looking back at his R-6 travelmate, Foley spoke quickly to the droid, “Secure the ship when we depart. Leave your communications suite on passive. Be ready to initiate start-up procedures when Foley calls for it.”

The astrogation droid whistled in response and hurried back to the cockpit. Foley stood outside of the ship, taking the E-11s off of his back, heft the weapon in his manipulators, and waited for the two Sith…

Orion Shattou would be sitting quietly as Alyse passed him patting his shoulder. Nodding to her as she went by to join Foley. The ship rocked and rattled as it made its way to through the atmosphere and down to the red and brown wasteland below. Foley put them down into a canyon as the ship let its landing gears out with a thud of confirmation they've touched down. Unbuckling himself the Sith Miraluka would brush himself off and begin to move down the ramp behind the two heading down the ramp from the cockpit. The Sith's lightsaber was tight to his hip under his robes as he let the force show him the entire layout of the land for a good bit and got a good description of every nook and cranny. His sandles would leave marks in the ground as he moved with the group to the bottom. Foley was waiting on the last Sith Aylse to join them from the top of the ramp.

"
South-Southeast hm? Well, I guess we should get movin'.."

Orions voice was monotone and cold. What he kept calm and cool under his tone he had bloodlust and rage he kept contained. The Sith would slaughter anything that stood against the trio if needed but had his level head keep the balance to remain calm. The inner struggle that caused both pain and pleasure. Orion would wait for the last Sith as he turned to Foley when she caught up and began to walk.."I hope you're a good shot with that thing." His voice was the same and he mean't no harm but the attitude he had was always lack of luster and sunshine. If they had any trouble Orion knew Alyse would handle herself but he never knew much of the Droid. He seemed more intelligent and a better shot than Orion. Thats all he needed to know, A physical hand to hand Orion would go all in. The blind Miraluka knew more then what most gave him credit for.

As the two others filed out of the ship, the blonde followed suit, stopping as she passed the bulkhead door to her quarters to briefly pat herself down to make sure she had everything. Lightsaber? check, comm link? Check, pistol? Ah kriff! Sliding the door open Alyse hurriedly dove into her quarters to retrieve her blaster pistol. Fastening the holster around her thigh and waist, the cultist checked over her side arm, ensuring that the power cell was fully charged before, holstering it and making her way through the ship to the loading ramp, grabbing the cantine of water sitting by the door as she left.

Rejoining the group, Alyse stepped in as Orion made conversation about the Droids proficiency with its weapon. A light smile crossing her features as she looked towards the first Oder assassin, from her interactions with the droid after inadvertently activating it whilst cleaning up her basement, the blonde had learnt its purpose and main functions - whilst it's prescribed skillet was impressive, she had yet to witness Foley in action. But then again she had every confidence that the droid could handle itself with deadly efficiency.

"Sorry for the hold up, just needed to grab a few additional items" Alyse commented as she closed the distance to the pair that were waiting on her, fastening the cantine to her belt once she came to a standstill. "shall we get moving? Thinking by the feel of this planets currents, it's not a good idea to be stationary for too long" Alyse added, before taking a few steps forward, headed towards the mountain pass that Foley had earlier pointed out. Her mind starting to actively channel the Force through her, opening her minds eye into her surroundings.

“Foley’s programming is adequate enough for small arms marksmanship.”

The assassin droid did not need to be told twice to get moving. Foley began walking toward the canyon pass, trying to make sense of the myriad of sounds and screeches surrounding them both near and far. The droid knew that the locale plant and creature life on Dathomir was extremely dangerous, but it had no real practical experience on the planet. Picking its way along the path, the droid began to lead the trio through a small canyon. The rocky, jagged sides began to form steep walls along the sides. Foley quickly analyzed their current path and determined that if they were to be ambushed, the likelihood of it occurring along this path was very high.

Regardless, they were making it through without hindrance so far. Foley updated the two Sith, “According to the coordinates of their last known contact, it should be around the next bend in 50 meters. The map of this area shows a clearing and a small cave system to the west within the clearing. This is the site of the proposed fortress."

Orion Shattou would move with the group. He was quiet to their replies and kept his senses in full alert. Hearing the sounds of and screeches in the distance of creatures in different areas. The Droid seemed to walk them into a canyon that was just screaming ambush. Orion would go within the force in his mind and try to pick out anything in the area that seemed moving about. His body was flexed and ready to move if anything was to happen. His free hand hidden in his robe as he kept his hilt of his lightsaber close to him. Hearing the droid make a remark on the distance and of a cave system. A fortress? Orion thought to himself as he didn't like being boxed in but he was ready to do whatever it takes to make the Sith Eternal strive and go forward. Pushing with them Orion would make sure they were ready as he kept going forward and staying entirely silent.

It wasn't long before the group arrived at the foot of the Cave system, the blonde cultist slowing down to a gentle stop. Her eyes narrowing as she took a deep breath and read the currents of the Force flow around her and the others, the young woman's brow furrowing as she could feel the presence of other creatures near by, hidden within the depths of the Cave system beyond. A light murmur escaping her lips as she brought her mind back into her self. Her gaze narrowing as she looked down to the crimson soil beneath her feet, something had caught her attention, forcing the guardian to kneel down towards some faint tracks that had been gouged into the soil.

Running a hand along the slight channels, Alyse visually followed the disturbed ground before casting an inquisitive glance up towards the assassin droid. "Are these animal tracks Foley?" She inquired as her hand gestured towards the disturbed ground before settling on a pair of clawed foot prints. "Can you identify the origin?" She added, whilst deeply hoping that the response wasn't some predatory beast that could render their flesh from bone with a single swipe. But going by the way the ground had been disturbed, her mind could only fathom some huge lumbering creature that had dragged its prey into the Cave.

Foley led them along the cave system until Alyse prompted a stop. She inquired about the nature of the tracks. Foley replied, "These tracks are not in my database. However, if it is an 'animal' classification, it is extremely large with long claws--these tracks were made within 24 hours in my approximation..."

He continued following the tracks through the cave system. An erected spotlight from his shoulder illuminated the winding tunnel. A glimmer came from the floor. Stooping down, the assassin droid picked up a small object, which appeared to be a busted comlink. Confirming what the Sith may have been suspecting, he stated, "This is a SoroSuub C-2 Comlink. These were issued to the scouting party. Shall we continue to follow this tunnel to the waiting maw of this predator?"

Orion Shattou would move with the group as Alyse spotted the tracks and made a question in regards to them. His creepy smile still stayed on his face as he wondered what in the kriff happened. Noticing the long claw marks and Foleys regard to animal and the time it was around to leave the marks. Raising his eyebrow with his tight blindfold on he would follow Foley through the cave system and let the force guide him as he never needed a flashlight. Watching the Droid through the force grab the comlink and remark the type and how it was issued to the party, Orion quickly put 2 and 2 together to know this beast clearly got the best of them or they had a standoff.

"
Well, lets get it over with."

He would say with his creepy smile on his face as he moved ahead with the group and kept his lightsaber close to his hand as he tried using the force to see if he could catch any ambushes in the area or hostiles.

A curious expression crossing the blonde's features as Foley brought attention towards a discarded and damaged comlink, her gaze narrowing as she listened to the assassin droid's summation and query whether they were to proceed deeper into the cave complex. The answer game from the grinning Miraluka, Alyse simply nodded in affirmation of his declaration, as she reached into the concealed holsters under her leather jacket, retrieving her blaster pistol and lightsaber. "Agreed, what ever has attacked the scouting party will inevitably hinder any attempts to settle this area" the blonde added, before taking a deep breath and harnessing the Force through her, reaching out into her surroundings, searching for the presence of nearby life-forces that would likely be their quarry.

Following in the pace with the others, Alyse and the group traversed deeper into the depths of the cave network, their movements being guided by the currents of the Force that gravitated towards the nearby life signs. As the group drew deeper into the caves, the blonde's features contorted into a look of disgust. Her nostrils were filled with the growing stench of rotting and decomposing flesh and excrement, for someone of a somewhat privileged background, it was a grim awakening into the realities of the darker aspects of the galaxy - forcing her to try and ease the collar of her jacket over her face to try and fruitlessly block out the stench.

"Kriff, the air is rancid" Alyse muttered under her breath, whilst her grip tightened on her withdrawn weapons - figuring that the stronger the stench was getting, the closer they were getting to the Nydak nest. Her eyes narrowing as she could hear the shrill scratching sound of claw against stone near by, her finger sliding towards to the safety of her blaster before slowly and silently sliding it off, priming the weapon.

Foley slowly placed the stock of his rifle to his left shoulder and bent his knees to a more advantageous shooting stance as he followed the scratches down the large rocky cavern passage. It curved around for another 10 meters before opening back up again into a tall chamber that opened up to the sky above. Large cave openings dotted the rounded chamber. Bones of various creatures, small and large littered the round clearing floor. The smell of rancid meat was much stronger here, although this was not something that Foley recognized.

A deep throated growl came from the cave entrance directly across from the trio. Foley instantly went to a knee and peered through the site of his sniper rifle. But this loud growl only served to illicit other growls from the other caves…distinctly different growls. The assassin droid quickly catalogued the sounds via his aural receptors and informed the two Sith, “My aural sensors count 6 distinct growls coming from the caves. It may be prudent for us to—“

The droid did not get to finish its thought. As if timing their ambush, two massive Nydaks emerged from a pair of caves opposite the trio, bounding with frightening speed towards them.

ZOT!

Foley loosed a shot from his sniper rifle, slamming into the shoulder of the lead Nydak, which caused it to tumble to the ground, but only seemed to slow it despite an injured, dangling arm. Four smaller, younger Nydaks suddenly shot out from various points high above them, two of them intent on pouncing the pair of Sith behind Foley.

Not wishing to get bowled over by the pair of Nydaks, F0A-3A tossed his sniper rifle to this left and rolled out of the way to his right. As the assassin droid rolled out of the way of the barreling Nydaks, his manipulators slid to the holsters on its side and drew the pair of DL-44s as it rolled to a stop on a knee, leveling both blasters...

The trio were now amidst six Tydaks, with only one of them injured at this point.

Orion Shattou would move with the group as the smell was absolutely atrocious. Leading them to an open like cave network Orion would hear the sounds of growls erupt through the cave work system. Watching as a huge pair of Nydaks pushed towards the front as instantly the Assassin droid shifted himself and engaged with quick speed as Orion was watching all of this through the force. Sensing the group of smaller Nydaks pushing down on them in a quick attempt for an ambush as Orion shifted his hand open in front of himself letting the force snap the hilt of his lightsaber to his palm and dashing flick with his right thumb hitting the igniter as the crimson red blade ignored only seconds before one of the Nydaks would either catch straight into it or in an attempt to avoid it would severe their either left or right limbs in a dodge.

Orion would shift his weight and turn after the initial contact as he pushed off with his red lightsaber ignited as he moved with lightning speed to engage the Nydaks as he closed the distance to try to make them take more notice of the Miraluka

Stepping into the cavern that was the literal Nydak Nest, the blonde's eyes panned over the shadowy movements of the resident creatures, the guttural growling and clawed scampering of the predatory creatures. Whilst the assassin droid and Miraluka fanned out, Alyse held her thumb over the activation stud of her lightsaber, preparing it activate it in a moments notice. Shortly after a round from the droid's rifle burst into the chamber streaking towards it's intended target, the blonde was bathed in a bright purple hued light as her weapon ignited with a crackling hiss.

Heavy pounding clawed footsteps could be heard approaching the young woman's flank, forcing the blonde cultis to turn and face the hulking predator that had selected her for its target, whilst Foley and Orion dealt with the Nydak's closest to them. Without a second's hesitation Alyse swiftly dropped down onto the floor and rolling out towards left as a large clawed arm came swinging diagonally down towards her before slashing into stone ground, sending sparks out from the impact.

A look of concentration crossed the blonde's features as she narrowed her eyes, watching as the beast reared back its opposing arm, coiling it back to lay down another blow towards her new location. Her focused gaze studying the movement, looking for the opportune moment to strike, and visualising the likely path that the beast was going to swing at her from. With a loud guttural growl the abomination swung its clawed appendage down for another strike sweeping in from the side aiming to slash at it's prey's legs.

A light crack could be heard as the young cultist leapt over the head of the creature so they were standing back to back, followed with a sudden spin on her heel the the purple arc of light swung out towards the raised limb. The arc of energy tearing through exposed appendage, before a deafening wail of pain escaping its fanged maw suddenly intensifying as two additional bursts of crimson light flashed into existence, as she unloaded two blaster rounds into the back of the Nydak.

Foley began loosing round after round from his pair of DL-44s into the closest large one. Coming to his feet, the assassin droid began stalking around, placing the mirakula more between him and the Nydaks. From a tactical standpoint, it seemed Orion was closing the distance. Foley decided he would help him by getting more behind him, meaning those he was infuriating with the barrage of blaster bolts would have to come through the Sith to get to him. The large nydak that Foley hit in the shoulder with the sniper rifle was continuing to slow as red bolt after bolt pelted the armored carapace of the creature. Scorch marks were beginning to show burns that had made their way through the armor. Adjusting his targeting, his bolt trajectories now coincided with the weak parts of that nydak, causing a bit more of an impact. Finally, the large one succumbed to the menacing bolts and fell to the stone unmoving.

Unequipped with sonar, he was unable to detect the smaller nydak that crept up behind him. His electroreceptors spotted the creature right as was about to bowl the droid over. Dropping one of the DL-44s and slipping his manipulator around a fragmentation grenade was about all he had time to do. Shifting his position at the last moment prevented him from getting crushed, but did not prevent the nydak from slamming him to the ground with the mighty maw that took off his right forearm. Sparks sizzled and popped at the elbow joint of the assassin droid, but Foley promptly ducked down in a ball. The young nydak was unaware that while it had taken a prize in the form of the droid’s forearm, it was holding a live grenade…

BOOM!

The fragmentation grenade went off in the small nydak’s mouth, causing a shower of blood, bone and carapace bits…

Orion Shattou would finish off a wounded Nydak crawling on the ground letting his crimson blade ignite into the back of its head as he shifted over at the same time witnessing the grenade massacre the young nydak that sent bits everywhere and blood. Orion felt the blood rain down among him as he turned his head over to check on his comrades. Noticing the missing forearm of the droid, Orion would raise a eyebrow as he looked over to Alyse and checked on her visually to see if shes good. Letting his hand lift up and fling a piece of Nydak meat off his robes he would let his blade retract into the hilt and look down further in the cave. "What do you figure Mr. Foley?" Orions voice was cold and monotone like the battle they just were in was a typical tuesday night. His force sense was on high alert as he felt through the force if anything was closer.

"
I got a good hunch theres something bigger than these small fish.."

His gaze through the force looking further down the tunnel as his blindfold was tight across his face. Letting his hand slide into his robe and grab a metal case tin containing several cigarras as he withdrew one and tapped it a couple times off the case before letting it lift up and be put into his mouth. Letting his other hand retrieve his lighter as he ignited it and set it back down his robing. Inhaling the smoke quietly before exhaling through his nose as he waited for them to recover and move.

"What do you figure Mr. Foley?"

“Successful conclusion to this hunt, Mr. Orion.”

A last volley of fiery bolts found their way into the flank of one of the smaller ones that had been wounded, felling the beast. The trio were looking around, ensuring that the threat to them was gone. An eerie silence settled over the clearing as the pair of Sith and the assassin droid took in the carnage.

"I got a good hunch there’s something bigger than these small fish…"

Nodding tentatively, Foley padded forward deeper within the rocky cavern complex and immediately made out the “nest” of the family of nydaks. With his DL-44s in each hand, Foley’ss electroreceptors took in the tracks and signs of habitation with a scrutinizing eye. His path took him in and out of the many caves and recesses in the area. Finally, after many minutes of examining the area, the droid concluded, “Mr. Orion, I initially concurred with your assessment that there were more nydak hostiles in the area, but upon further investigation, I will have to change my analysis. It seems that the threat that exists here at the ‘fortress’ is no longer valid.”

As if double-checking his own conclusion, the assassin droid took out his navpad and made sure that there were no more areas adjacent to the massive cave complex that needed to be explored for finality. Swiping the screen from one display to the next, he looked up after many minutes and stated, “I do not see any other spaces than are able to house creatures the size of nydaks in the immediate area. It is my recommendation that we head back…”

Orion Shattou would watch as they slew through the lesser of enemies as he turned to face the droid. Watching him scan and work out a logical conclusion as to whatever showed up has moved on. Raising his eyebrow to the statement he would then turn to look deeper in the rocky cavern complex and sigh. "Damnit.." he mumbled to himself in his cold monotone voice. Shifting his weight he would than pivot and spin around with his robes fluttering. "Very well Foley, take us home." What a entire waste of time Orion thought to himself but alas they had to do these missions or they would've never known the creature or creatures were there. Pushing next to the droid and exiting the cave, Orion would make his way back to the ship and board it. It seemed their lead on the planet was a dead end, Better luck next time..
