DESCRIPTION
The D3-CG Series Commando Droid (nicknamed the 'Cygnus') is the latest variant of the popular D3-NB series droid designed by Newton Arden and manufactured by Blackwell Automata. This unit is designed to be a stealth commando droid. This series is essentially an upgraded version of the baseline D3, as it retains a lot of it's features such as the armor with the similar base chassis, and then there are more.

Most notably of the Cygnus droid is the introduction of stealth technologies,: First the Cygnus droid is coated with scatterweave, obtained from metal-heavy plants harvested on the planet Rishii, from which the scatterweave was synthesized from, making it very resistant to sensors and scans in addition to reflecting little-to-no light. There is also an stealth field generator that can be mounted on, it would providing cloaking capabilities on par with those mounted on organic armors although it it has to move at reduced speed and can not attack while it's activated, although this gives the droid a chance to get into position first or just slip by the enemy altogether.

Like this unit's sister model the P1-D3S: this unit has enhanced mobility and agility, along with a scomplink for accessing doors and terminals .etc Unlike the P1 however which excels at melee combat and protection, this unit specializes in stealth, special tactics, and ranged combat.

The D3-CG droids boast better combat capabilities than the Deneb droid as well. It's can move faster and is more intelligent, as well as programmed with more advanced tactics plus have more ruthless and lethal combat behavior, can combine ranged death from afar with blasters with cover, flanking, use of grenades, as well as other creative uses of it's functions. With the ability to self-learn, this droid's has the capability to self-learn and thus evolve it's intelligence. The CG have the capability and knowhow to be able to do tasks such as infiltrate bases unseen and perform acts of sabotage such as planting explosives without being seen.

Like this droid's brother and sister D3 and P1 droids, the Cygnus droids also have a failsafe protocol in that it will attempt to fry it's memory core when it would be subdued, captured, destroyed, or otherwise rendered inoperable, so that it would not be possible to recover information or data the droid would have.

The Cygnus droid is normally painted in all black, with four menacing red eyes, it can give off an intimidating presence. The Cygnus droid is very expensive like the P1 droid, especially taking into account the rarity of scatterweave, although Blackwell has obtained seeds to grow the scatterweave producing plants on their own to help mitigate this. The CG droid normally speaks with a cold mechanical male voice by default although it can alter it's modulate it's vocabulator to be able to mimic the voices of others such as organics.

LEGALITY
Restricted. These are special infantry droids, and such as these droids are highly restricted with personal ownership being banned, only ownable by recognized governments. There are a few ways one could skirt the restrictions, such as claiming this is a normal D3 droid, just painted black which might work between the resemblance between the two droids.

INTENT
I was inspired by the starship cloaking device when it was posted, so I thought it would be cool for us to have dedicated stealth droids. Anyways, this is another product that I planned on having Newton sell in the roleplay, which would give a faction their own potent commando force. Besides that, this gives a current-era alternative to the Clone Wars-era BX droid and as well as having distinguishing features from it.

RESTRICTIONS
Personal ownership of a D3-CG droid would not be easy, but still doable. Characters based on the D3-CG may be created, but will be subject to increased scrutiny.
