BIOGRAPHY
Generational Wealth - For twelve generations the Kitras have been an independently wealthy family. They made their money through shipping high-value items and limited but shrewd trade deals. These days the Kitras are landlords and investors, they sit on a large fortune and spend their time relaxing back and letting others do the work for them, and then they pay people to make sure those working are doing a good job. This way of doing things might suit a retired man very well, but not a goal-orientated proactive man like Cuvran. Cuvran values seeing results, being involved, and getting into the middle of things to help better the outcome. He’s somewhat idealistic still, despite many affiliated with the CSA doing their best to bring him down to reality, he’s also hard-working and ethical. His ethics have put him in conflict with what he’s asked to do on more than one occasion.
Cultural Suppression - A strong jaw, good bone structure, lightly tanned skin, and deeply indigo eyes stand out, as does his preference for cultural necklaces and other items of his people, adorned across expensive suits that betray the wealth he has at his disposal. We should correctly say, the wealth his family allows him to have, because at the moment he’s well under his father’s oppressive leash and does not possess much influence of his own. Finally, he does not have a facial tattoo and this is a long-running issue he has with his family not wanting them at all, thinking themselves beyond these cultural displays. So to be the diplomat he he carries his own tattoo on his arm, to remind him of his race’s culture and heritage. If his family won't have any symbolism that he can carry, he’ll do things his way and still keep the peace. The tattoo on his upper right arm is of an intricate knot, carefully crafted and interwoven in a symmetrical pattern, to show the detail necessary in navigating life and connecting its parts.
Specialized Education - Spending time in an accelerated education program for the overly wealthy, and often being left there during summer breaks which was mutually decided, has given him the best education and yet robbed him of other aspects of life to better round his character. Cuvran has been educated in logistics, supply chains, communications, and infrastructure projects. Spending time on work experience in some of the larger companies that his family's wealth influenced. He still has a lot to learn about the practical realities vs the theoretical applications of his skills. Cuvran much preferred being out in the world, rather than stuck on the family estate in Cantonica, which can feel like a prison, in the oppressive patriarchal environment his father lords over his extended family and his children. However, he’s never really achieved that, he still is shielded from the realities of life due to his wealth and social circles.
Money as a Shield - Like some with money, they decide politics are something to try, as it often takes money to make anything happen especially in the CSA. His family has bankrolled his political efforts, largely because it keeps him busy and away from bothering them. His position is something they can brag about to their friends and so it suits their social life. Cuvran doesn’t have much influence himself yet, but he does have the step up to try in the CSA bureaucracy when money decides everything, it also shields him from the realities others with less wealth might suffer within the bureaucracy. For example, the parties or events he goes to are with people that don’t even feel the effects of a war, or see the aftermath. The security that transport him, would never even let a beggar or less fortunate person in his view, let alone to put a word in his ear. Those he’s spent his time with are in their bubble, and often that means when he realizes the reality of a situation, it damages his idealism.
Ethical Dilemmas - The other conflict within him is corruption vs ethics, the further he goes into political circles, the more of that will be present. Unfortunately, he has no idea the path he picks will be magnified by his force sensitivity, and every action will reap a personal consequence, for better or worse. Despite his status shielding from the outside world, he can’t escape himself, the force, or his psychometry. When his actions come back in the memories of others from the objects they hold, it is sometimes too much to take in at once, when you are the cause of their experiences.
