Judging by the reaction from the French Government, I imagine it is only a matter of time before they decide to get involved. Honestly - I think it is est to wait until more news is released before forming an opinion on it, as what news we currently have it limited. Once more is released, and if nobody else has, I'll post a link to here. So far it appears a coup has occurred, but what that means for the people in the nation is unclear.

I personally think the AU should get involved since it is their job. I personally don't support France getting involved since it is African affairs. In terms of the coup, their was a coup considering the government leaders were detained and the government was pretty much dissolved. Hopefully the government doesn't start to attack the protesters.

Depending on how this goes, Burkina Faso might end up becoming destabilized similarly to the Central African Republic.

I disagree. Burkina Faso from my knowledge borders countries like Nigeria, and I highly doubt that they are going to allow a destabilized state right next to them. Besides, the region has responded quickly. II believe the Presidents of Benin, and Senegal went to meet the military leaders.

So far it does not look like it will end up being another CAR, fortunately. The military has released the arrested interim president recently.
