Considering my options

Guys it is with a heavy heart that I’m considering to leave this site or not. I have great memories here for a long time but after recent events where I screwed up it’s becoming a possibility. It’s has become stressful instead of fun to be honest. I put the blame on myself for letting it happen. To everyone I’m rping with, don’t worry I’ll finish our current threads before leaving if that does occur.

Still it is not a decision I should make lightly and would appreciate your opinions. To my friends and fellow writers I do sincerely apologize that you guys had to put up with my frustrations lately but it’s hard to let go of them and see a sliver lining right now. Yet if I leave I’m letting you folks down by doing so which adds to my conflicted feelings on this matter.

Man - you've not screwed up.

I've told you this via discord and I'll tell you it now - you have not screwed up at any point and have, in fact, been a great asset to people, to plots and to your factions. If that is a big part of it, I urge you to reconsider - you've done really well here!

But if it's not the only/main reason for your decision... I understand and I hope you can come back to us again. I don't want you to go because I love to RP with you but if you want to, I can't stop you.

Just know you'll always be welcome back - and you don't even need to leave <3

I can't help but feel partially like I'm in this due to the recent pvp. While we were on opposite sides I never saw it as me against you so much as character versus character. It made a fun rivalry for Talos and Vic, maybe even the Jawa. Everyone got away alive except the Senator. Your contribution was absolutely crucial to making it challenge and making it more fun. I'm sorry if we made it seem stressful.

Outside of that situation, it's really all about keeping story in mind instead of victory. I find it much more fun knowing that my characters could die horribly while trying to meet their goals.

You stepped up and helped defend an attack and defend a senator. While it wasn't a full victory by any means it was awesome. More people need to step up and be that annoyance. If it's too stressful I get it but I'd hate to see you go because of it. I enjoy our other stuff and think you do great.

You didn't let anyone down.

You joined a thread that didn't work out. It's happened to all of us at one time or another. Sure, it feels shitty but I am not sure this as a knee-jerk reaction is the best way to handle it.

Obviously having fun is a priority so I guess if you can't do that here, then it is what it is. We will always be here if that changes in the future, which I hope it does as it sucks ever losing a long-term member.

My advice, since you asked, would be to try other stories or characters. Maybe you find something you like. Hope you find what you are looking for, friend.

Hey there. I agree with Nefie's post, you didn't screw up. You tried to make the best of a bad situation in regards to Manaan and didn't in any way screw up or make anything worse.

If the stress is getting to you regardless, I recommend stepping back from the faction war and instead have fun in stories outside of it. I know there are plenty :) You aren't in any way obligated to participate in things on here that would make you stress out.

You are a good player and would miss having you around. If you have other reasons, fair enough. If you decide to take a hiatus we will still be here when you decide to come back.

Like the others said, you don't have to leave bro. You didn't mess up or anything, you were just got caught between a rock and a hard place. If you want to take a step back, that's totally understandable, but there's still ways to have plenty of fun. For instance, I've found that plots are a very fun way to stick around doing stuff you like without jumping into PvP.

Still, I know this stuff can be pretty stressful and sometimes taking a breather is the way to go. Just know that if you do decide that you want to give the site a break for a while, you can always hit me up if you want to do some fun stuff. I'm slow as hell, mind you, but I'd be game

Appreciate the advice and kind words guys. I can learn to take an individual loss but it’s the Pub faction I’m more concerned about. Not to mention I’m afraid of getting hit with unexpected goals again in the middle of a future PvP.

The Republic faction is at war - and it's time the rest of the faction acted like it.

It's not a failing on your part for being someone willing to stand up for the faction. You're just ahead of the curve is all my friend. The others in the faction will see these things as a wake up call and get to work, you mark my words! You've done a lot and you've fought well soldier... but the war isn't over yet.

The Republic won't even be done if they lose this war - because there will always be another. This is not something to lose heart over man, this is something to enjoy! This is something to see as proof that the Republic matters!

Wars will come and maybe you weren't ready for this one?

It doesn't matter. Because you'll be ready for the rest of this one and you'll be ready for the others to come.

You make fair points Nefie, I will stay. For now I’m sticking to ask warfront missions instead of getting involved with PvPs. I’m care too much for the Pub faction just to give up on it at this early stage.

I dont often chime in on threads like these, because I usually think they're pretty silly and attention seeking, but... not gonna lie, I'd be pretty bummed if you left. You're easily the nicest person I know on the site (a low bar, but still).

When people have trouble with certain mechanics or scenarios, I always recommend taking a step back away from those specific parts of the site, and refocusing on lower key and less stressful stuff. Find a partner or two and go do something disconnected from the events that are causing you headache.

Mate, you’ve failed no one. It was my own stupidity that I brought Octadar in, and he’s paid the price for his lack of vision. Now, the faction, and this site in general needs you more than ever. The Republic is just dead, and I’m feeling really sorry for you. The inactivity of many of the Republic’s characters has been... Rageful, Nefie knows, and you’re, practically, our only hope. You’re the one putting the effort and time on the Republic side, and I’m feeling very sorry for you, having to carry the burden. Don’t worry, you haven’t done a thing wrong. If you want my help in RP, I can assist you with Bretharr now. So please don’t go Minuteman, you are, from what I’ve seen so far IRL on the site, a really nice guy, and in RP, never put a foot wrong.

@Minuteman75 I am glad you made the choice to stay, and as the sites resident moron, I am more than happy to RP with you doing odd, wacky, and downright hilarious stuff if you need some time to do crazy shizz, instead of war-stuff. I am always about if you need to chat, but other than that -

Don't leave! You are a huge addition to the forum, and a great player, with excellent characters and fantastic story-telling ideas. You're an asset to the forum, and I'd be sad to see you go, so stick around :-)
