Kraud studied the elegant movements of the purple Twi'lek who piloted the YT-1300 freighter. Mila had come a long way since he had stumbled upon her all those years ago. Sitting in the passenger's chair behind the pilot, Kraud braced for the landing. The three Jedi present had been on a minor errand, when The Jabberwocky picked up a transmission from Horuz. A call for help, transmitted by a small village. What they needed help with, however, wasn't specified. So naturally, the Jedi responded.

Once the ship safely landed, Kraud spoke up. "I don't sense any ill intent toward us. Just... despair.." he was cautious of the village its call for help. For all he knew, it could be a trap. A sudden cry for help that reached as far as it did was uncommon. Kraud rose from his seat. "Lower the boarding ramp, let's see what we can do to help them." he stated, as he prepared to meet the villagers who were starting to gather around their freighter.

As Kraud descended from the boarding ramp, he felt a sudden change through the Force. The despair made place for a spark of hope. "So, why have you summoned us here?" The old Knight began, scanning the crowd for a spokesperson.

'He's watching you.' Mila thought to herself, her mind in two places. One part of her was busy piloting The Jabberwocky in for a landing, the other part of her freaking out because Kraud was intensely watching her. She should be focusing on the mission, and she would, but why was Kraud paying so much attention to her? Of course, this was all on the inside. On the outside she seemed cool as the ice caverns of Hoth, as she brought the ship down out the outskirts of this village that had called for help. Once the struts hit the ground, Mila took in a breath and attempted to confirm what Kraud was saying, and found the same situation. Curious. She turned to Kraud with a rather placid expression. "I sense the same. Most unusual." She commented, as she reached up and disengaged the boarding ramp. Mila looked to her padawan, hoping he wasn't staring at holopics of woman on his datapad right now. "Do you sense anything amiss Brahe?" She asked, as she rose, adjusting her garments so her lekku didn't get caught in the hood of her robes. She would fall in line with Kraud, expecting Brahe to follow up behind her.

Striding down the ramp, it wasn't long before they spotted a few citizens that seemed to take notice. Kraud directed his attention to an older look man, asking why they were here, as Mila put her senses on the rest of the people here. They were certainly in the muck about their situation, not that Mila could blame them. The old man looked at the trio, his face showing a bit of hesitation, as he seemed to struggle with forming the words to explain the situation. But he did eventually speak. "Company men, they are trying to stop the waterlines." His basic was rough, clearly he didn't speak it fluent. "You come and kill them, yes?" The man asked, extending his hands like he was about to accept an offer from the jedi. Mila's lip twitched, as she glanced to Kraud, knowing he could perhaps be the better diplomat in this situation.

Brahe was not on space tinder at that moment, nor was he looking up specs on the latest TIE models. Instead, he was on his data pad, playing a game called BATTLEFRONT 2. The game made a spectacle of galactic history, depicting the most significant battles of the clone wars, the rebellion vs the empire, and the resistance vs the first order. It was a beautifully rendered depiction with a great degree of authenticity and accuracy, although the thing that pissed Brahe off about the game was it's horrible use of micro transactions. The game developers had remedied the loot box nightmare that had been the game's launch, however, and what was left after that was a long, steady stream of free content, which Brahe had appreciated quite readily.

Perking up to attention at his master's words, he quickly put away the data pad, leaving the game on idle, and responded.

"Oh! Uhm....err....not really, master...." He said, scratching the back of his head. Honestly, he hadn't been paying the most attention, but hopefully Master Mi'la didn't notice that. Looking around and feeling awkward as he walked down the ramp after the two Jedi knights, he put his hands in his pockets and scrunched his shoulders a bit.

"I suppose something feels a bit off...", he said, trying to bullshit his way out of the question.

Then the local man asked his master to kill the company men who had planned to shut off their water supply. Killing people wasn't exactly the Jedi way, so Brahe raised an eyebrow when the man asked them to kill the company men. Had the dude never heard of the Jedi? What the whole order's creed was? Then again, Brahe couldn't be too judgmental. He forgot the creed half the time anyway. He lived by his own half-assed creed.

Emotion? Just be good person.
Ignorance? Just be good person.
Passion? Hell yeah.
Chaos? Take a chill pill dude.
Death? Well that sucks. Don't die bro.
With fun my chains are broken.
Pro Tip: Lightsabers work as good welding tools for starship work.

He waltzed on right over to Master Mi'la and put his arm around her shoulder.

"Sir, we've got this handled. We'll take care of these troublemakers. We're uh, professionals!" He didn't outright say he'd kill the 'company men', but he reassured the stranger with a grin and a thumbs up.

Kraud didn't respond to the elder's request. His gaze narrowed, silently judging the townsfolk that had gathered around the Jabberwocky. The first person to break the silence, was the rash Padawan of the purple Twi'lek. A response that left Kraud even more disappointed and judgmental than he already was. The elder's face contorted, as he tried to make sense of what the Padawan just said. With a hint of annoyance present in his rumbling voice, Kraud took over. "Huttese?" he asked, a question to which the elder responded with a nod. Continuing in Huttese, Kraud spoke up.

"You must understand that we do not kill. We did not come here to massacre your enemies." Kraud stated firmly. "We arrived to aid your village, but you must learn to solve issues like these yourselves." he added. The elder appeared to disagree, as he quickly responded in fluent Huttese. "None of us are warriors. How are we supposed to kill them on our own if we do not know how to fight?" he asked, annoyed by Kraud's answer. "Perhaps you could try diplomacy? Talking things through?" Kraud in turn suggested. While his temper was often short, the Whiphid had some patience and tolerance for the villagers, who were hell-bent on killing the 'company men'. Probably because they didn't know there were alternatives to war. The village itself looked primitive, it wouldn't be wrong to assume that the village had lived in isolation for a long time. And all living beings had one thing in common; nobody enjoyed having their territory invaded by foreigners.

Kraud turned to Mila, as the elder thought about the Whiphid's suggestion. "Your Padawan has much to learn." he commented, notifying her that his behaviour so far was not what was expected from a Jedi.

Mila nearly slapped her padawan out of pure instict for the stunt he had pulled, coupled with the words he had just uttered. But she was in complete and utter control of herself, and such a display was unbecoming of a jedi. Though Brahe's behavior made her cringe so hard, she could have broken a star destroyer in two by muscle reflex alone. While Kraud spoke to the man in Huttese, Mila gave a rather harsh stare at her padawan, while idly listening to what was being said. "Brahe, that was very inappropriate." She said with a sterner than normal tone. To Brahe this might have been terrifying, as it wasn't often Mila used that tone of voice with him.

She moved swiftly, as she plucked his arm from her shoulder, another thing he had done in which she did not appreciate; his hand clearly brushed against her Lekku's, and he had told him time and time again not to do that. "You are a jedi, you can't march up and issue such bone headed statements like that. Remember about focusing? Or thinking before speaking?" Mila spoke with much more emotion than was usual, and the reason was rather obvious. Kraud was watching, and seeing that her padawan was making a total mockery of not only her, but the jedi order. It was not a good day to be Mila right now. Mila turned back to Kraud as he seemed to have finished with the native man, her cheeks turning a brighter pink as he stated a fact she was painfully aware of. "Oh, well, yes. But that is why there are padawans is it not Master Kraud?" Mila asked, a nervous giggle coming from her lips as she finished her question; which to Brahe might as well have been a sign of the apocalypse. The village native did have his answer made up though, as he would tap Kraud on the shoulder and speak in Huttese. "No, actually, can't you just kill them? We will pay per body. Their representatives have already shot two of my people. Their deaths seem warranted." The man seemed rather pleased with his response, as he crossed his arms and smiled at the Whiphid and Twi'lek, before frowning at the young padawan between them.

The whole non violence thing that the Jedi Order adhered to was something that Brahe was still trying to figure out. On one hand, he understood that the Jedi travelled the galaxy helping the sick, the injured, the helpless; that was why they were here after all. But to be called a Jedi KNIGHT of all things would imply that there was some sort of combative element to the tenets of the order. After all, why carry a laser sword and practice its usage at all, if you were not a warrior? In Brahe’s opinion, it was better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener in a war. Helping these people might very well entail violence, and if they were evil enough, Brahe thought it was sometimes necessary. Luke Skywalker killed thousands of people in the blink of an eye with the destruction of the first death star, but that was a moment celebrated in galactic history and Skywalker was awarded and praised for his efforts, not condemned for the thousands of lives he took, regardless of whether or not everyone on that battle station had been deserving of such a fate.

A light blush played across his face as he realized just how angry he made Master Mila. He chose not to speak, instead holding his tongue as she scolded him for his behavior. He didn't understand wholly why what he had done was wrong, and to be fair, Kraud's statement irked him a bit.

"Ok, boomer..." He muttered under his breath.

Kraud's brow furrowed when the villager tapped on his shoulder. The sheer size of the Whiphid forced the man to stand on his toes, which arguably made him and his argument less impressive than they already were. But the villager's words still made the Whiphid's heart bleed. The reason why the villagers wanted the 'company men' dead, now made a little more sense to him.

Kraud placed his fur-covered hand on the man's shoulder. "We are Jedi, not mercenaries. We will accompany and protect your representatives, if you are willing to take give diplomacy a second try." Kraud remarked. They weren't going to kill the company men, and he wasn't going to mind trick the villagers into using diplomacy either. "I understand that we're asking a lot of you. Your people have suffered at their hands, but avenging them will only lead to more suffering." he stated, aware that the younger generations would likely not agree with his philosophy. It was a frequent pattern; most older and more experienced people he had met during his long life showed understanding, while the young were often rash. Just like Mila's Padawan.

Willing to take the initiative, Kraud continued. "I hope that you'll change your mind and give our approach a chance. We'll wait inside our ship until you've made a choice." The options he gave them were final. He hoped that it would push the villagers into sending representatives with them. If they wouldn't, well the Whiphid would still try to negotiate with the company men. Although he wasn't going to tell that to the villagers. No, they needed to solve their own problems.

Turning around, Kraud headed back to the Jabberwocky. Once inside, he would take place on one of the lounge seats. He had faith in the Force, but also in the villagers. They would do the right thing, they just needed time. Time he could use to discuss a thing or two with Mila and Brahe.

Mila caught what her apprentice had said but let it slide, she would give him hell for that later, but right now they still needed to keep up appearances. Turning to face the village elder, Mila shook her head as she heard his response. They were not going to kill someone for them, they called the order to help, so the order was going to help in their way. Kraud beat her to it however, as he answered with a response that she couldn't have said better herself; of course he did, this was Kraud after all. When the Whiphid turned to walk back towards the ship, Mila smiled ever so slightly, letting out a sigh before she faced the village elder. She spoke to him in Huttese, before departing with the knight, gesturing for Brahe to follow her. "Master, you called on the order to help, and we are going to help, but we will not do so with violence. I advise you take my companions words to heart and reassess the situation, as using violence will only entitle them to reign more violence upon you. I'm sorry for these deaths you have endured, but understand that if you embark down that path, your people will not be saved through it." Mila would give a short bow to the man before retreating to the Jabberwocky, hopefully with her padawan in pursuit.

Reaching the ship, Mila sat across from Kruad, waiting for her padawan to arrive. "Master Kraud, I'm always in awe of your temperament." She commented, though she did not look the knight in the face; after all, she couldn't. "Though I have faith these people will listen to what we have told them, I only hope they can keep to those words once we have left them to their own devices."

Unfortunately for either Kraud or Mila, Brahe wasn't exactly in line with their thoughts on the matter. While Mila was preoccupied with talking to Kraud and the elder, Brahe had snuck off on his own, in search of these so called 'company men'. While he still agreed that violence wasn't necessarily the answer, he felt compelled to help the villagers regardless. The fact that two of the villagers had died was enough reason for Brahe to want to see these killers for himself, to see what kind of people they truly were.

To hell with waiting! The elder said they killed two villagers already! What'll stop more from dying if we don't do something about it? He thought to himself.

He leaned in, whispering to the elder. "Where are these company men?" To which the elder responded by pointing him in the direction of a hill in the distance, roughly a thousand meters away from the village. The company men were closer to the village than Brahe had thought. And so the brash young padawan made his way towards the hill, sneaking away at first as to avoid Mila or Kraud noticing, but once he was out of sight, he began to jog there.

By the time Mila or Kraud would notice, the padawan was probably already halfway towards the hill...

The Whiphid smiled at Mila's remark. "You don't have to refer to me as master. We're friends after all." he stated with a light chuckle, before his stoic look returned again. "We have given them an ultimatum. It may be a bit too harsh, but I don't want to solve their issues without showing them the error in their ways." The Whiphid took his straw hat in his hands, studying it for a minute. The Force would guide not only the Jedi, but also the villagers, or so he hoped.

"Speaking of errors.. Where is your Padawan?" he asked, only now realizing that Brahe hadn't joined them in the lounge room. The teen was rash and made mistakes, but he definitely had his heart in the right place. It was something he, despite his frustrations, had some sort of respect for. During his youth, the Whiphid had been quite reckless himself. It had taken him many years to learn restraint, and even after so many years he still found himself lacking it in a wide array of situations.

The Knight closed his eyes for a brief moment, and allowed his conscious to wander off, delving deep into the Force. It took him little effort to figure out that the Padawan wasn't present on the ship. "He's not aboard the ship..." Kraud muttered. "Do you sense his presence anywhere nearby?" It was up to Mila to find him. The Master-Padawan bond Mila had with Brahe was probably stronger than his bond with the teen, which meant that she had a far better chance to get a hold of him.

Mila hadn't realized that Brahe hadn't followed her back onto the ship, but as she sat with the Whiphid, noting that her padawan wasn't beside her, she began to suspect something was amiss. She decided to give him a moment to perhaps return to them, but she felt uneasy about that possibility. She looked to Kraud, bitting her so slightly at her lip as she knew what she wanted to say, but knew she could not. "I know but, I still view you as my superior Master Kraud, after all, if not for you I would have never joined the order." She explained, trying to keep herself from turning bright pink from being put on the spot.

"I don't think we were harsh at all. They need to know we can't simply show up and murder their problems away. It's not proper, and while they might have experienced loss, we don't know the circumstance of the incident." Mila assured her fellow knight, knowing all to well how much of an influence loss could have on the mind of a person. It was by now that she was starting to grow concerned over the fate of her padawan, as Mila began to rise to her feet as Kraud made it known that he believed something was off. "If I know Brahe, he ran off. Probably thought we overlooked the situation given there were deaths." Mila lamented, as she began to leave the ship, reaching out with the force to find the whereabouts of her padawan, and found that she was proven correct. "Sometimes that boy...." Mila muttered, knowing that Kruad probably struggled in the same manner as she did with his children. "I love Brahe dearly Master Kraud, but he certainly tries my patience." She muttered, as she disembarked the ship and would begin to pursue her wayward padwan. She couldn't take him anywhere nice it seemed.

Brahe continued his way towards the hill, doing his best to remain stealthy.

Seconds passed, and the world stood in silence for but a moment...

Then birds scattered as the loud, whirring sound of a volley of blaster fire rang out through the area.

But whether it was fate, luck, or the force itself, Brahe just barely managed to dodge the incoming onslaught as a single repeater mounted on a tripod in a foxhole opened up with a blistering volley of blaster fire towards his position. Hitting the deck, Brahe tasted dirt as he hugged the depression in the ground, formed by the draw he found himself in.

Szutak! Thank the force I chose to climb up this draw instead of that spur!

He kept his profile low, letting the repeater waste shots as it tried to get a bead on him. Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for Brahe, the incline of the hill was masking Brahe's body, provided he remained in the prone.

Biting his lip, Brahe groaned as he could only imagine what Master Mila was thinking right now. The padawan, no more than 700 meters from the village at this point, and already getting shot at by a mounted repeater...

The minute Kraud disembarked the ship behind Mila, he saw what was happening. Apparently, the defenses of whatever facility or pipeline the company had on this planet, was closer than any of them had expected. The blue sky combined with the bright daylight made it hard for any who were untrained to spot the ensuing ‘battle’, but the Whiphid clearly saw the red flashes of heavy blaster fire move through the shadows that were cast by boulders and the hill itself.

“If that kid’s somewhere, it’s likely over there.” He exclaimed, pointing at where he believed the blasterfire originated from. He considered summoning the Force to reach Brahe sooner, but decided against it. This would be a good lesson for him. He had to learn to wait and listen; the villagers likely knew about this first line of defense which meant that this encounter could have been avoided.

Once Kraud and Mila got in range of the repeater, it immediately targeted them instead. The Knight disliked having to draw his lightsaber, but the repeater left him with no other other options. Within the blink of an eye, Kraud ignited his lightsaber. With calm, minimal and precise movement, the Whiphid angled the lime-colored blade ever so slightly, deflecting the volley of blaster fire that came in his direction.

“Mila, take it out please.” He instructed, drawing the blaster fire away from the purple Twi’lek.

Mila had put a bit of spring in her step, as she pulled upon the force to increase her speed, knowing that Brahe was not only risking his life, but the chance of this mission being successful.

Thankfully it hadn't taken long for her to find the padawan, as she witnessed him under fire form a turret, which was rather quick to target the two knights as they neared it. Mila leapt to the side as the turret began to target onto herself and Kraud, as she drew her saber, listening to what her friend had to say, as focused on the events unfolding around her, and made a b-line for the turret. It didn't take long for the turret to refocus on the Twi'lek, as she neared it, but by then it was too late. Mila leapt high in the air, as the turret move to re-target, the jedi knight came down on top of it, her hand fishing for the wiring in which the turret operated on. With one hefty tug, the wiring tore, smoke began to puff out from the turret, and Mila received a rather mild electrical shook.

Letting out a 'eep', she leapt off the turret as it pulled itself back into it's hidey hole. Shaking her slightly numb hand, Mila turned towards Kraud to make sure the jedi was okay, then looked to Brahe with a scowl, but not before checking her padwan over for injury. What was she going to do with this boy? "Brahe, what did I tell you about rushing ahead without thinking?" Mila asked, as she knelt beside her student, eyeing him up for any injuries. Kraud would see it before Mila, but a pair of uniformed security personal would arrive over the hill with blasters drawn, pointing them towards the jedi trio. "We need you to leave the premises at this very instant, or we will be forced to shoot!" One of the man called out, though looking to them, it was rather obvious that they were scared out of their minds; their blaster hands were shaking, and they kept pointing the blasters between the two jedi. Mila let out a small sigh, then looked to her padawan with a small bit of annoyance, just a tad. "This is why we think before we act. I'd ask you take this moment to practice such a thing." Mila started, as she rose and kept her hands above her head. "We've come to negotiate a settlement between your company and the inhabitants of this village." Mila started, though she could only hope her padawan wouldn't try and start anything here.

Brahe sheepishly shook his head up and down, nodding to let her know that he got the message. He was indeed remorseful- that E-WEB was no joke when it came to military hardware, and could've easily torn him apart if it had the chance.

"Yes master...it's just...I got angry when I heard they shot some of the villagers."

It wasn't long after his response that more personnel appeared on-scene, eliciting Brahe to nervously put his hand at his side, hovering over his lightsaber. He stood up, looking at them rather warily, ready to draw and deflect a shot in case they decided to fire their blasters. He looked at his master for guidance this time though, having resigned himself to the fact that she was right- he was acting quite brashly again. Then she put up her hands. Brahe sighed and then put up his hands as well, a scowl and a glare playing across his face as he eyed the guards rather distrustfully.

Curiously, Master Kraud was nowhere in sight, although Brahe suspected he was at least somewhere nearby.

He's surely getting the drop on these buffoons, or at least doing something to get Master Mila and I out of this mess..... Brahe surmised.

It was times like this that he was harder on himself- had he listened to Master Mila, things might have been different.
