The sight of the Dathmorian palace finally brought out a smile on Wodan’s face as he stepped out of the shuttle and onto the red world. He looked back at the pilot who, even though supported the Imperial Knights he had now doubt was reporting the Lord Commander’s presence on this neutral world to the Imperial hierarchy just to get a few more credits for his family. He still wore his standard armour as was expected whenever he left the confines of their barracks/prison on Raxus. But was relishing the chance to get out of the restive duraplast once he was inside and out of the prying eyes of the Empire.

Although the prying eyes of the Dathmorian sisters were locked on him as he walked up towards the large doors into the palace proper. Even though they had as much suspicion as the Imperials, at least they would only act when he did something wrong, the Imperials however could react badly even if he was a Saint.

Stepping out of the Dathmorian sun and into the shade of the mountain he called out to the empty void, he suspected housed a dozen armed guards. “I am here to see the First Sister.”

Arla could sense Wodan when he arrived in no small part because she had been expecting him. It didn't seem she had many friends these days, and when he told her he was coming, it was a welcome surprise.

Wodan! she said, smiling as she emerged from the palace and waving him to come inside.

I'd say it was a long trip to come see me, but I suppose we're right in the middle of Imperial space, she said, a fact of which she was painfully aware and unhappy.

How are you? she asked, but even as the words left her lips, she could sense that there was something not right. He seemed... off, though she didn't really know why. She figured he would tell her if he wanted to. Maybe he just needed to get away from work.

His smile only increased as Arla made her appearance from the palace, a weight lifting off his shoulders as he soaked in her appearance. He caught her slight and concern about her homeworld's location deep within Imperial Space, one that he shared although not to the same degree. Wodan kept an eye out on any Imperial communications he was privy to to see if Dathomir, Arla or her mother were ever mentioned. So far so good, but he did dread the day their names appeared on any official documentation.

Stepping up towards the woman and out of shot of the pilot, he embraced Arla hugging her tight against his body. “I am ok, how are you?” He said into her ear, before letting go of the embrace. “Although, I could do with getting out of this armour.” He continued with a warm yet slightly vacant smile.

Arla couldn't help but wonder to herself if it was wise or unwise to have the Lord Commander of the Imperial Knights come to Dathomir. In the event that the Empire ever moved against this world, it was likely he who would be largely responsible for it. But just being here and gauging a world's defenses, capabilities, and people were two very different things, she reminded herself. And hopefully it wouldn't ever come to that. Split loyalties were no easy thing to deal with.

She wrapped her arms around him and returned the hug, though against the plates of his armor, it was far more stiff and not nearly as warm as it could have been.

No obligations to wear it here, she said with a smile. Although Arla couldn't actually promise no danger here, at least he wasn't bound by duty on this world... per se.

Even as she greeted him, though, she couldn't help but notice something was off about him. You do not seem "okay," she said, her usual, "subtle" self. What is wrong? she asked as she ushered them both inside and out of the growing heat of the day.

As much as he had come here to talk to Arla and get her opinion on everything, now he was faced with talking about his issues he tried to retreat inside his shell. Ignoring the question at first he smiled again at the Dathmorian’s bluntness. “Shall we go inside, you can help me take some of this off.” He replied, there was no romantic or sexual innuendo in the comment, only the fact it took another person to fully help him take on and off the armour.

He kept relatively silent as they walked, his eyes mostly on her as they walked, although his mind was clearly pondering what he was going to say to the woman. “The Empire is a mess and well I don’t think I can help.” He said defeated.

Even if there had been innuendo, most likely it would have gone right over Arla's head. She headed inside and brought him back to her room where they could have some privacy, though unless specifically directed, she was going to be almost useless for actually helping him out of the equipment. She never wore armor herself, and certainly not anything this complicated.

Then don't, she said flatly. It probably wasn't the answer he was looking for, but it wasn't without reasoning behind it.

They took everything from you. You don't owe them anything. I'm not even sure why you've stayed, she said. That wasn't entirely true, she knew he had stayed because of Altair, but she also knew that his "friend" didn't seem to be looking out for him. From what she had heard, the Imperial Knights weren't exactly treated well.

So why are you staying? she said. This was, of course, the crux of the issue, and she doubted that she would agree with whatever his answer was. It was no secret that she held no love for the Empire, and it sometimes made things... difficult.
