A loud thunderous clattering echo resonated throughout the large cavernous chamber, as the metal grating of the service catwalk gave way underneath the footing of the ashen blonde figure as the attempted to traverse the ruined complex. Lurching back out of instinct, the young woman held her back tight against the moss covered bulkhead wall, her chestnut hued gaze tracking the descent of the collapsed walk way - watching as it disappeared down into the void below. "What in the Kriff was I thinking" The blonde muttered to herself before reaching down to her side, her lips pursing in thought for a moment before mentally committing to withdraw her lightsaber, with a sudden snap hiss and a brief momentary flash of crimson light, the blade of her ignited weapon stabilised into a rich magenta hue that bathed the immediate area in light.

Taking a moment to catch her breath, and to recenter herself from the sudden loss of the walk way, the young woman surveyed her surroundings, looking for an alternative means to carry on venturing throughout throughout the decaying ruins of a former imperial outpost. At first she was hesitant to venture into the abandoned complex, but if what the First Order Assassin droid had to say for the history of this outpost was true, then perhaps there would be the possible promise of finding some texts that might have been trapped somewhere deep within the ruins. The journey across the sulphuric wastes of Lok was enough of a trial to begin with with the stench alone, only to come across the structure in the remote barren plains in a state of ruin - it seemed that in the years since Foley had hidden himself on Bakura, the former imperial outpost had been subject either to a deliberate act of self sabotage or an orbital bombardment of sorts.

Looking across the void, Alyse regarded the door that lay ahead of her, now separated by the collapsed walk way. A sigh escaping her lips as she contemplated on whether or not this venture was truly worth it? Should she just to turn back and head for home, or press deeper into the fallen outpost. "Nothing gained for nothing ventured" Alyse muttered to herself, before channelling the Force through her. A sudden crack echoed through the cavernous void as she sprang from her position, using the Force to propel herself across the chasm, and landing with a metallic clatter. Reaching down into her pack, the blonde retrieved a power cell and latched it onto the dusty door controls and with a quick press of a button a sudden surge of electricity ran into the dormant blast door, powering the door up enough for it to partially open - wide enough to squeeze through the aperture.

The purple glow of her saber soon cut through the dark void ahead of her as she stepped through into the service hall, the regular rhythmic sound of footsteps echoing throughout the circulation space as the Sith advanced deeper into the buried complex - only to be periodically stopped and replaced by the sound of the female scrambling over a large collapsed structural beam and debris that littered the imperial ruins.

Since his Master Mi’la’s absence, Brahe had felt a sense of hollowness in himself, along with a certain degree of uncertainty about the future. Through their shared adventures, he had discovered an affinity for the dark side of the force inherent in himself that overshadowed his affinity to the light- a reality that greatly disturbed the young padawan. And with the re-emergence of the Sith becoming a reality, Brahe was unnerved even further. What did that mean for him? Could he really call himself a jedi, after what he had done? Time and time again, he had let emotion control him more so than tranquility. At one point, it had culminated in his sudden use of force lightning.

And so naturally, the first activity that came to mind was something to allow him to escape this inner conflict. Searching for TIE parts was one of the few things that allowed him to clear his head and focus on something simple, without a pause for worry in the world. And what better way than to explore some old imperial outpost in search of schematics or old parts? It was a shipping manifest found at another site that had led him to this one, indicating the shipment of a fresh batch of hyperspace modulators that he might be able to reverse engineer or tweak for some other projects of his.

He was looking through some old data station files at a nearby terminal when he heard the patter of footsteps approaching, along with the unmistakeable hum of a lightsaber. Turning away from the terminal, he looked in the direction of the magenta glow casting off the walls of the outpost, and yelled out.

“Who’s there?”

Brahe himself was wearing a flight suit, his hand hovering over a blaster pistol holstered on his hip. It wasn’t quite as breathable and light as his Jedi robes, but he also hadn’t felt like wearing them lately. He felt almost like an impostor wearing them, even if his intentions were pure. It was a disturbing feeling to his conscience- he had wanted to be a Jedi since a very young age, and yet he didn’t exactly act as one should, despite years of training. The dark side was rising in these times, and it made him all the more nervous….

The blonde's advance through the halls of the abandoned out post slowed down, her eyes narrowing partly out of caution - squinting to see if she could make out source of the voice that shouted out from anongst the recesses of the dimly lit corridor. Though there was a degree of confusion, she had until this moment believed that the outpost had remained untouched for decades, and yet perplexingly someone else was here! Figuring it would be at least best to try and diffuse any potential situation, before there was a chance for it to escalate - after all endarkend spaces were oft huge catalysts for a twitchy trigger finger. "Who said that?" Alyse softly called out, as she turned about on the spot looking for the slightest sign of whomever had just spoken.

Her lip soon curled up in annoyance, as realisation set in at what she had just called back - certainly not going to make any progress with a back and forth of who what where and how. "Sorry you startled me, was not expecting anyone else to be down in this place" She added after a moments thought, her gaze continuing to look around the dark corridors trying to spot the mysterious person who was close by - even though she could now sense another presence in her vacinity, the inability to see them was off putting to say the least. "My name is Alyse, could you step out towards the purple light, I'm struggling to see where you are?" she gently inquired, before consciously moving her arm so that her saber was passively hanging at her side - knowing it wouldn't help matters if whoever else was down here chose to reveal themselves only to find the blonde female standing in a guarded stance poised to attack.

That would be the last thing she'd want to have to entertain, getting into a fire fight with some random stranger over a misunderstanding. Exploring the depths of this ruined outpost was dangerous enough was it was!

Brahe hesitated. Alyse’s voice certainly was far from what he had expected to hear. She held what appeared to be a more noble tone, of someone who was educated and likely from the upper classes. The last kind of person that he’d expect to meet in some remote, abandoned imperial outpost in the Outer Rim. He approached carefully nonetheless, keeping his blaster pistol holstered. Getting closer, he pulled a flashlight from his belt and turned it on, illuminating them both in the corridor.

“Hello! I didn’t expect to see a jedi.” He raised an eyebrow. Sith usually had red sabers, but hers was clearly a more purple/magenta coloration. She seemed to more likely be a Jedi in Brahe’s eyes, but one couldn’t be too sure. “Or are you a Sith?” He said, somewhat amusedly, not realizing that statement was far closer to the truth.

“I’m Brahe. I’m just out here looking for some spare TIE parts, that’s all. What about you?”

He relaxed a bit after introducing himself. She didn’t seem to be hostile in any way after all, and who knew? Maybe she was a part of the Jedi Order- something they’d have in common.

A light smile crossed the blonde's features as the origin of the voice stepped out from the shadows, retrieving a flashlight and bringing it into life, filling the area with a more natural looking white light. Looking down to her side, a brief hiss emanted from her weapon as the purple blade was extinguished - figured that there would be little point in having a burning blade of plasma at her side now that there was a more appropriate light source. Her eyes looking up from her hip as she fastened her lightsaber back into their magnetic bindings, to regard the young male as he announced that he hadn't expected to encounter a Jedi, or even a Sith - forcing her to raise an inquisitive eyebrow in response.

Chosing to bite her tounge for the moment, Alyse allowed Brahe to intorduce himself offering a polite smile and a nod before sighing slightly. "I've never known in the company of a Jedi, so i suppose the closest definition would mean that I would be Sith" she responded, casting a rather conflcited looking frown, as she bit on her lower lip in thought. "Not that i had much of a choice or any say in that matter" she spoke, partially under her breath - but loud enough for the young Padawan to hear the tone of resentment within her words. Her chestnut hued eyes falling onto the floor for a brief moment as she chewed over her own words, carrying the appearance of there being trepidation about her revelation.

The lingering pensive expression stayed for a few moments more, before she shook her head in resignation and looked up to meet Brahe's gaze, forcing a smile on the edge of her lips. "I suppose that an anbandoned imperial outpost would be an ideal place to seek out components for TIE vehicles" Alyse commented, with a light chortle and shrug. "Though in all honesty, Im not looking for anything technologically inclined. I'm following up on some rumours that there are some confiscated Jedi texts buried here" she offered with a slight tilt of her head, before folding her arms over her chest. "I'd rather learn of all aspects of the Force rather than being force fed one particular aspect of it" she added as she cast Brahe a light smile, hoping that he would understand her intent and meaning behind her words.

A flicker of uncertainty and unease played across his face as Alyse revealed that she was Sith. But curiosity got the better of him over what would’ve been his more straightforward response to such a revelation. Normally he would’ve activated his lightsaber on the spot, but this time around he stayed his blade. Her trepidation certainly did lend itself well to causing him to adjust his reaction, because he couldn’t help but feel a tinge of empathy for her.

“That’s…an interesting perspective for a Sith….I suppose not all the rumors of Sith being bloodthirsty warmongers and schemers are true…”

In some ways he felt like maybe they were similar- both born of lineages that were tied closely to the forces aligned with the dark.

“Truth be told, I’ve always wondered what the appeal of the dark side even was? Conventional wisdom says that Palpatine was evil…I can’t imagine why someone would want to follow the teachings of someone as vile as him unless they were forced.”

He crossed his arms, raising a hand to his chin in thought.

“I can somewhat relate, I suppose. My father’s side of the family had a heavy hand in TIE fighter production during the time of the Empire.”

He shrugged. “But that past doesn’t define who I am.”

An awkward smile crossed Alyse's features as Brahe, spoke in response to her revelation observing initially that perhaps not all the rumours of the Sith were true, as well as citing a degree of curiosity towards the appeal of the Darkside - the way in. Which the young man spoke of palatine, as being the epitome of evil, questioning the sanity of those that chose to follow in the Dark Lords teachings. Made the young woman wonder whether these were the words of a devout Jedi, or someone who had been made to believe that the agents of the Darkside were the infamous boogey men that work in the shadows. "There is some truth in what you perceive of the Sith" Alyse spoke, as she pursed her lips for a moment - contemplating how she would best draw in the young man standing in front of her, without there being any escalations. Afterall he appeared to empathise and relate so far.

A brief sigh escaped Alyse's lips for a moment, as she held her hand out to the side. "The Darkside is indeed a dangerous element, as much as fire is to a forest or lightning is to a storm" she explained, as small flickers of fire and then electricity briefly appeared above the palm of her hand, as if to add a visual weight to her words. "It's derived from the rawest of emotions, much like the basest of instincts, like your body fighting to breach the water for the gasp of air so to not drown" Alyse continued as she lowered her hand down and folded it back against her chest.

"Its the raw emotion that gives its weilder stength and power, like a surge of adrenaline" she added with a light shrug, before her features darkened. "But! like everything in this galaxy, power corrupts. Just like bankers who give into greed and lust for money. There are force weilders who desire and covet more" she cautioned, before drawing out long exhaled breath. "Its those who covet more and more power that are dangerous, they seek out to dominate, destroy or outright slaughter to satiate that greed like a thirst. Much like those on my homeworld" she continued before her gaze fell down to the floor with a sigh, her shoulders and arms falling purposely into a slouch for a few silent moments.

"I was born with a latent Force potential, that I had not understood until my early teens, when my... Father revealed that I was gifted with the Force, he also made it clear that my potential had not gone unnoticed by the Dark Lord. I was to learn the ways of the force under the Lords guidance. But I later realised that from birth I had been groomed and conditioned to believe in the absolute rule of the Sith, so that I would submit myself into thier servitude" Alyse spoke, explaining with an air of personal resentment towards her past and her own father. "they coveted my gift, for their own plans of grandeur. Every time I resisted, I would either be lashed with lightning or choked manifested through the Force" she added before pensively taking a few steps closer towards Brahe and tentatively attempting to place a hand on his shoulder.

"The dark side, is seen as the means for great evil, but for some it is the tool in which to bring about change" she spoke, as a faint glimmer of a sincere smile crossed her features "It gave me the strength to burn away at the bondage of servitude, allowing for me to escape my home and those Sith that would rule over me to do their bidding. " the blonde Darkside added, as she withdrew her hand from the young man's shoulder, flashing a light smile.

"But as you said, it's not the legacy that you come from that defines you, it's what you want to make of yourself that does. Which is why I'm seeking out these Jedi texts, so to understand the duality of the Force and, to free my homeworld from the greed of my father's lust for power"

Hesitation once again clashed with his curiosity as he witnessed her manifest a small amount of electricity and flame in the palm of her hand. She was making him a bit nervous, the Jedi training in him telling him to beware the dark side like it was some sort of plague to be avoided, rather than something that had the potential for good.

“I…” He hesitated again, at a loss for words as she continued to speak to him about the nature of the dark side of the force. She was being rather straightforward and open with him about the whole thing, despite having known him for only a brief moment. His thoughts wandered to home, to his upbringing as a Jedi, and the years spent training as a young padawan on Ajan Kloss, exploring a hundred worlds in an attempt to understand the mysteries of the force, to spread the word of the light side and the message of the jedi, and to mend the old wounds that decades of war long since past which time had failed to heal. He remembered that the main reason he became a Jedi in the first place was to escape the shame of being associated with the Empire and all it’s travesties against the people of the Galaxy. Atoning for the sins of his family, a generation twice removed.

He was so lost in thought for that brief moment that he failed to notice her getting closer, and it wasn’t until she removed her hand on his shoulder that he snapped out of it, blinking for a moment as she continued to speak to him. He pulled away, unsure of what to do, a light blush on his face.

“Why tell me all of this?” He asked, wondering why she had been so open with him despite meeting only moments before. “I’m just a nobody to you. A stranger.”

His words were colder than the emotion welling within him. In truth, his curiosity was still piqued, his hope sparked at the possibility that maybe he should embrace his emotion more than the tranquility the Jedi espoused. Emotion, yet peace. A tenet of the Jedi code. But the galaxy, even now, still knew conflict. Perhaps then, peace was a lie?

Perhaps there was true freedom in unshackled emotion, and he had been wrong to be ashamed of it for so long?

Whether it was something the young padawan would have expected from the 'evil' Sith standing in front of him or not, but the question he posed to the blonde illicted not a look of frustration nor distain - just a simple warm and genuine smile as she shook her head at the remark of him being just a mere stranger to her. "Why indeed?" Alyse responded with a light chortle, her chestnut hued gaze scanning over the younger force user. "When a young Force user asks about the appeal of the Darkside, would you not be as open about your experiences as possible?" she inquired, casting Brahe an inquisitive glance. "You may be a stranger to me, I do not know who you, to whom your allegiances lie and nor can I fathom the depths of your life's experiences" the guardian continued as she gestured her hand up and down the younger male.

"But, you like, myself and everyone in this Galaxy have the potential for growth and to better ourselves" the sith continued after a moments pause, before pulling a hand up to tidy a few creeping strands of her hair that had crept onto her face. "Even if by sharing my own experiences walking the path of the Darkside, allows to give you a better understanding so that you can either learn to guard yourself or even come to terms with the most natural aspects of your life, " Alyse continued, before giving up on trying to tease her hair back behind her ears and just opted to resort to removing and her headband all together so to pull it back on and draw her hair back anew.

"Then, perhaps one day you walk freely without the fear of the unknown, conscious of the risks that you face" the blonde guardian commented after she had finished straightening out her hair, offering a light shrug. Her gaze shifting over towards the winding depths of the corridor ahead, lips pursing in thought, realising that whilst there could be potential in sewing seeds for the young Jedi to choose his own path, there was reason for her being within the ruins. "I suspect you don't often get the opportunity to talk freely about the duality of the Force? There is conflict that resides within you is there not? " Alyse questioned before stepping slightly to the side and gesturing that she was intending to continue along the corridor. "Perhaps, Brahe if you wish to accompany me, as we seek out our respective quarries. I could answer any other questions that you may have" she offered as she turned to once again face the young padawan her chestnut hued eyes casting a knowing look that the there was a conflict resonating through the Force from within the young man.

Natural. Was the dark side something one could consider natural? Brahe had previously viewed the dark side as an unnatural plague, a primordial evil that had existed for time immemorial. Rey Skywalker had defeated the Sith in times past, and yet they still found a way to reemerge. If they were so unnatural, then why were they so intrinsic to the state of affairs in the galaxy? Perhaps the cycle of wars plaguing the galaxy all stemmed from this imbalance?

Passion, strength, potential, freedom. Words that began to hold sway over Brahe's mind as her words only drove him to want to understand, to see if he could harness what he once thought was a plague into something that was as natural and intrinsic to him as breathing. The thought of exploring the possibilities intrigued him. And thus, she had him in the palm of her hand, with something so simple as to introduce the idea that there needn't be conflict with something that could very well just be a part of his inner nature.

He ignored the twinge of fear in his gut as he responded to Alyse, choosing to brave the unknown and tread a new path in understanding the force. He still considered himself a jedi, as he hadn't lost faith in his master Mi'la or his fellow friends from the order, but he felt like they might not understand that maybe, just maybe the dark side wasn't so much an evil force as it was a natural entity that could be used for good in the right hands.

"To be honest, no. I never really got to explore that possibility. If there is indeed more.....then you showing me? Yes...." He nodded to himself, a light smile being returned to her. "Yes....I think I'd like that opportunity."

A light nod was offered in acknowledgement to Brahe's admission that he would like to take the opportunity to learn more of the Darkside, light smile of understanding crossing her features as she regarded the younger male. "Very well, then I hope that perhaps I will answer any questions you may have" Alyse spoke as she held her hands out to the side, beckoning for the young padawan to accompany her. A silence fell over the pair for a moment, the only sounds being made was the rhythmic echo of their respective footsteps as they walked deeper into the dark depths of the corridor, venturing deeper into the abandoned complex.

It wasn't until the pair had passed through the partially closed blast door. That the blonde Sith broke the silence. "So I suppose first things first as we move deeper into this complex. Perhaps have a think about What do you know of the Darkside? If any one explained to you how one would draw upon the Darkside?" the best thing the blonde guardian could figure out was to perhaps inquire just what the younger Force user knew of the Darkside.

She suspected that either Brahe was alone in his journey, or possibly a Jedi, not that it would really bother the Sith, she had no quarry with her lightsided Kin. They had their own beliefs and she had hers, provided that they didn't force their dogmatic ideals on her, then she would hope any interactions with them remained amicable, and not escalate to the need for blood letting.

Crossing over towards a closed blast door, the blonde cast a sidewards glance to her young companion for a moment. "I'll need to cut through this door" she spoke out before drawing her weapon and igniting it. The purple arc of plasma steering its way into the metal before carving out a new aooerature as if the steel was merely butter. Once a loud clatter of metal thundered out as the slab of blast door hit the floor, Alyse covered her face to protect herself from the wave of dust that got thrown up into the air - before stepping into the newly revealed chamber. Her lights Aber being disengaged after Brahe and his light followed.

Surveying the place it looked as if they had made thier way into one of the many storage spaces, offering the pair an opportunity to discuss the Force whilst they rummaged for what they were after. "So young Brahe, what is it about the Darkside that you wish to know more about?" she inquired, knowing the irony over the fact that the padawan was perhaps only a handful of years younger than her at best, but it seemed appropriate to aleast try and keep the tone light given the subject matter.

Brahe smirked and laughed “Young Brahe? How old do you think I am, miss Alyse?” He teased, as he crouched down to look through some old shipping containers. He rummaged through some dusty old tools and rusted parts before responding to her initial questions.

“The dark side…I don’t entirely know how it’s drawn upon. All I’ve ever learned is that it is tied to intense emotion, and that it manifests itself most prominently when those feelings are in full force….almost like an amplifier of sorts.”

He stared at the wall in silence for a few seconds, contemplating his thoughts about the Jedi and their way of approaching things.

“But that isn’t how one taps into the light side of the force. It isn’t the Jedi way. The light side is drawn upon with an inner peace and tranquility….I’d describe the inner felling almost as if one was floating in a still lake, with no conscious effort made to stay afloat.”

Brahe didn’t reveal himself as a Jedi at this point, but the inferences he made would only point in that direction further.

“To the Jedi, unshackled emotion is a dangerous thing. And I can see why….one could simply look at the damage Palpatine wrought upon the galaxy, seeing the repercussions even today. Billions of lives lost, ruined, etc…”

He sighed.

“What are your thoughts on Palpatine’s actions?”

He was genuinely curious. In Brahe's eyes, and the eyes of untold billions living in the galaxy, Palpatine had been an oppressor, a scourge upon the universe. His demise saw an unprecedented level of freedom and happiness in the years following his defeat at the hands of Luke and Vader, only for his return to spark yet another conflict. But when Rey defeated him once and for all, once again the galaxy saw peace. It wasn't until now, in this era, that Brahe was beginning to see the futility in trying to defeat the Sith. It was a cyclic conflict that seemingly had no end. Perhaps it was simply the natural order of the universe? Or at least, that's what Brahe was beginning to believe...

Slowly the blonde haired female stepped away from where Brahe and herself entered the store room, seemingly venturing towards the opposite side from where her current companion had headed- Her focus setting on on collection of crates stacked atop of one another, before sitting herself down onto the larger container and reaching over to unlock the smaller case that sat beside her, figuring that perhaps the smaller cases would be used for stowing away books and data pads, but then again that was her logic and not the imperial military's.

Periodically the young blonde would look up as Brahe spoke out about his thoughts on the darkside, citing the teachings of the Jedi and how the darkside as she saw it was a dangerous thing to the Jedi. A wry knowing smile crossed her lips as her suspicions were loosely confirmed, well to a degree. The young force user appeared to have perhaps been tutored by a Jedi but that was not to say he was infact a Jedi - then again to say Alyse was overly concerned at this point in time would be an exageration, Brahe seemed very keen on learning of the Darkside and it's workings on his own accord.

A bemused and inquisitive look crossed over Alyse's features as she looked up from the small collection of data slates she was examining, the mention of Palpatine and her thoughts on his actions - was completely expecting that the conversaion would at somepoint turn to the last of the Dark Lords. "I think that perhaps there are some misgivings about Darth Sidious" The blonde spoke out as she set down the reviewed data slabs off to the side, before withdrawing a another small stack from the open container.

"Perhaps it is better to address the uncontrolled emotions first, Yes you are correct, lack of control over your emotions can be very dangerous. Not that it is soley the unbridaled fuel for the darkside, but even to a Sith lack of emotional control can be fatal, safely weilding the darkside takes great levels of restraint and strength of will. Which is what many forget, the Darkside has a price for use of it's power, it will seep into and affect your body and mind, if you lack the will power and fortitude to resist, then the darkside will claim its due and leave you but a mere shell of yourself as you become a slave to its endless tempations" Alyse explained seemingly casually as she continued to skim over the contents of each data slate she booted up, her chestnut hued gaze periodically looking up towards the young Jedi. "Locura's followers are just but one example, they had lost their minds to the darkside and became violent and dangerous killers, acting on their insatiable lust for more power and greed as they continue to prey upon my homeworld " she added, purposefully sharing her own experiences within the company of those who she had been groomed to serve, before she had freed herself from the cult.

"Darth Sidious, was far from the emotionally charged example of say Darth Vader, he was the opposite, he was calculating and in control of his emotions, focusing and tempering them as you would do with if forging a blade from steel., but that is not to say he had not been fully consumed by his lust for power" She reasoned before pursing her lips in thought, setting down the dataslabs onto her lap as she contemplated her thoughts on the actions carried out under Palpatines name. "As for Sidious' actions, well there are two trains of thought. The first of course is that the slaughter of countless billions carried out in his name was utterly senseless, and his rule was flawed for not only that bust also because he focused on his greed and pursuit of immortality so much that he lacked the ability to control the Imperial Governours and Moffs, Many of whom carried out attrocities not to protect the Empire but their own interests" the blonde offered, as she focused her attention solely on the padawan.

"Yet despite those failings and self obsession, there is an argument that his actions had been to a degree beneficial for the Galaxy" Alyse spoke out after a brief silence, her gaze curiously and cautiously observing the young Jedi infront of her. "When you look at the Galaxy as it is now, and compare it to the time of the Republic, The Galaxy had been in a state of unending stasis resulting from a lack of change making the galaxy stagnant and thus it fell into decay, had the events of the last two centuries not taken place we would still be in that perpetual state" she continued after a moment's silence in thought. "The machinations and scheming of Palpatine were cruel and devious there is no denying that fact, but he became a force for progress and a beacon of hope for those that would rally against him. You should always remember that change is neither innately benevolent nor is it malevoent, without Palpatine's rise to power, there would not have been the malicious intent of the Empire - yet concequently there would not have been the resiliance of those who backed the Rebellion to rise up and despite the overwhelming odds fight back against the tyranny and injustice of the Empire's rule" the blonde concluded before reaching back down to pick up the Dataslabs once again.

“For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times, before the Empire…or the First Order.”

He looked at her, his eyes lost in thoughtfulness, but also carefully examining her words. Her perspective was quite intriguing, to say the least.

“I’d argue that that time of stagnation to many, was a better era overall. I agree that change isn’t necessarily good or evil, but I would also add that a lack of change isn’t inherently good or evil either. The time of the Republic prior to the Clone Wars was certainly an era preferable to that of the Empire…..and perhaps better than how things are now. The gears of conflict are turning yet again…”

He then transitioned to his next train of thought, continuing with the questions.

“So…..if the dark side can be a tool one can use to achieve freedom and autonomy, then what advantage does it hold over the use of the light side of the force?”

Brahe continued to look through some nearby crates, hoping to find those TIE parts he was searching for, but to no avail just yet. It seemed that the parts were harder to find than he thought they’d be. Brahe shrugged. It wasn’t a huge deal- his TIE Hunter already had more than enough state of the art systems installed- a refresh or part replacement was a far ways away at this point. If Alyse was into TIEs at all, she might even be impressed, or perhaps shocked at the craft were she to see it. It was loaded up with an absolutely ridiculous level of speed-related modifications.

A curious expression crossed Alyse's features as the young man voiced his rebuttal, it seemed that with every counter statement and claim of the jedi, it was becoming increasingly clear that she was talking to one of her lightsided Kin. How fascinating, the young blonde mused to herself, as she regarded the young Jedi a light smile curling at the edge of her lips - enjoying the moment for what it was, the ability to two opposing sides of the Force to actually discuss their differing ideals in a a civil manner rather than allowing for their weapons and abilities in the Force to do the talking.

"The gears of conflict are forever turning Brahe" Alyse responded, rather simply as she set down the data slabs and reached in for the last stack from the open container. "There will forever be some element within the Galaxy that is unhappy with their lot in life, and they will seek out to get more for themselves. Whether it is a begger in the Coruscanti slums clawing their way out to the upper districts fighting tooth and nail so they can rid themselves of disease. Or a fledgling business undercutting the competition. Whilst small in comparison to the likes with have seen with the Galactic wars of recent history, I am sure as the Jedi may have stated to you, even the smallest dropplet within a still pool can grow to cause a tsunami given enough time" she continued, as she flicked her way through the contents of the data slabs, her eyes scanning over the directories and stored information, before setting them down each in turn.

Her lips pursed in thought as she looked over the last of the data slabs, before setting it down on her lap and looking up towards the younger male. "Though it is curious you believe that times before Empire and First Order were better, in the sense of Peace i would agree there was but a few small skirmishes in localised feuds" she offered, as she tilted her head casting Brahe an inquisitive glance. "Though I wonder, would the Jedi be held with the same regardtoday had the Clone Wars and the Civil War not taken place? " Alyse inquired as she booted down the last data slab, before proceeding to stow the removed slabs back into the container. "Many would consider the practices of the Jedi Order at the time as being deplorable, removing children from their Families so that they could be trained and live the life of a Jedi, shaping and molding their students to abide by their ideals to live a life of serviture. Whilst perhaps the intent was noble, to train the next generation of Peace keepers, the practices of that time you must admit could be flawed by their hubris" she added as the container was sealed shut with a light hiss as it repressurised itself, her attention moving away onto the next container, manipulating the Force to position it infront of her so she could search its contents.

"Now I realise that those times have passed, and I understand that the New Jedi Order has taken on and moved away from their short comings of their past selves" Alyse offered, casting a pensive expression to Brahe before she folded her arms across her chest briefly in thought. "But i suspect that some of the teachings remain the same, their views regarding emotion would draw parrallels to your last question, what advantage does the the Darkside have over the lightside" She continued as she raised a hand up to her face, her alabaster fingers gently rubbing at her chin as she contemplated the question a little further. "Both sides have their own respective advantages, the Light has the ability to heal and invigorate life, the darkside consequently has the power to do the opposite" the blonde spoke out before pausing for a slight moment. "As opposite sides of the coins of the Force these two alignments are, So is the idealogies of those that weild it, and that is where the cruel Irony lays. The Jedi are gifted with the ability to heal and renew life, yet they are cursed by having to isolate themselves from life's own pleasures"

Leaving a few moments for her comments to set in, the blonde started to resume her search through the newly opened container, her eyes narrowing slightly as she spotted a smaller lockbox under a pile of data slabs - yet in her thoroughness and reserve she opted to work her way through to the data slabs first. "Tell me Brahe, what have the Jedi taught you about ... oh what is it, No emotion only Peace?"

Brahe felt a bit of unease at her words. Thoughts raced across his mind- years of learning from the Jedi that had been…..seemingly pointless to Brahe. He didn’t agree with everything she said- to him, it was clear cut that the pre-clone wars Republic era was a better time to live in compared to the criminal infested, lawless void that the galaxy had become in the wake of the dissolution of the New Republic. And it was all Palpatine’s doing, as far as Brahe was concerned. But the other part- that about emotion….it was what dug into him the most.

“The new Jedi order believes that expression of emotion is not a sin, but that one must stay at peace with the identity of who they are and how they express that emotion.”

His uncertainty in that believe was evident in his voice. It was clear that he was stating what the Jedi Order believed, not necessarily what he himself did. He turned to face Alyse, getting closer and looking at the data pads she was rummaging through.

“I….well…..I’m sure you’ve already inferred that I’m tied to the order…..but as of late I can’t help but feel like I was never meant to be there all along.”

He looked her directly in the eyes, the twinge of shame evident in them. He couldn’t help it- he had been taught that to give in to his emotion so readily was not something advocated by the Jedi.

“There was an incident where my master’s life was in danger, and without thinking I was able to produce force lightning.” I was so focused on saving her that I didn’t even think….I just acted on instinct."

He turned his gaze away, looking at the wall.

“And to think I had so much pent up anger and hate, enough that it manifested in the force so readily and violently…” He said, letting his voice trail off.

Alyse listened to Brahe as he spoke out, her attention becoming more so attentive as she sat the pile of data slabs down her focus falling soley on the Jedi as he confessed his sins as it were - his sensations of not belonging with the Jedi, the pent up anger and hate that had spired for him to act on instinct and lash out with the manifestation of Force lightning of all things. A sympthetic expression crossed the blonde's features as he finished, his voice and gaze giving clear signs that this had brought great discomfort to the young Jedi to admit.

"That is where I feel the flaw lies with the Jedi" Alyse spoke out, her tone calm and relaxed. She had no intent on rubbing it in and lording over the young Jedi for the failings of his believes, they were different to each other not superior. "You are allowed to express emotion yet you are still expected to curb it to maintain control and tranquility" she continued, offering an understanding smile. "But you don't have that release do you?" the blonde questioned with a sigh. "The Jedi would teach for tranquility and peace of mind, without being able to vent pent up frustations. Anger and hatred are malevolent aspects of our lives, Sith are taught to hone and focus that pent up anger, controling and tempering it to use against those what would do us harm, rather than just lashing out out of instinct and reflex" she concluded for the time being before reaching back down into the container, to retrieve the lockbox.

"And now you are baring the stigma of your actions, you tapped into your desire to protect and save your Master, yet by doing so you allowed for the Darkside to take root" The Sith surmised, speaking in a way that she had anticipated some of Brahe's peers might have done so, presuming that whether or not some one had given him 'that talk' already it might as well for the time being be herself. A satifised grin crossed her features as the lock box opened up to reveal a blue leather bound book baring the silver insignia of the Jedi order, with the embossed words The Jedi path inscribed below it. "Perfect" she uttered to herself as she examined the book momenarily before setting it down on her lap.

"The Question is, what are you going to do about it?" Alyse spoke out as her focus and attention fell soley upon the conflicted Jedi. "Will you succumb to your desires and give in to the Darkside and allow it to corrupt and control you?" she questioned as her chestnut hued gaze focused soley on and locked with Brahes own eyes. "Of course not! You have to accept the fact that you are like all of us, flawed! You have to find means of release works best for you, for me personally I do occassionally scream myself hoarse into a pillow, its a great means of venting that pent up anger before it can turn toxic" the blonde offered, trailing off into a light chuckle towards the end.

"I suspect that you are not a bad person, you acted out and channeled the darkside to protect and save your master. I would have done the same if i were in your shoes. Does that make us evil? Of course not, we do what we believe is right" Alyse spoke out, her voice becoming a little more authritative and stern so to drive her point in, with the hope that it would stick. "You young Jedi Brahe, have to accept that like every living being in this Galaxy, are tainted! We all have a darkness within us, You have to accept that truth, you need to learn to embrace not surpress that darker base part of yourself, the part that would fight to protect those you care about, the willingness to do what ever it takes to do whats right" she continued before raising up a finger to cut off any potential interjections untill she made her point. "I'm not telling you to give in to the darkside and leave the path of the Jedi, I'm advising you that you look deeply into yourself and come to terms with the fact that there is a darkness within you, and accept that fact; otherwise it will continue to eat away at you and corrode your very being until the Darkside takes controll of you by force."

His thoughts wandered to his love of piloting TIEs. The passion, the focus, and the unbridled freedom he felt while soaring through the air almost made him a different person when he was in the cockpit seat. Was that what it felt to be in control of one’s darker nature? To accept and temper the fire and desires of his own heart?

He smirked at her in response to her words about screaming into a pillow, jokingly responding in kind. “My preferred method of venting is flying. Specifically the TIE in all it’s variants, ironically enough. Scares the crap out of half the order, given the history behind the craft. But they tolerate the noise well enough, I suppose. I haven’t been exiled or anything, after all…”

His thoughts wandered to a memory of his Master Mila chastising him for not paying attention. His focus had instead been on a pretty girl at the time. A light smile and laugh to himself was accompanied by a light blush. To be honest, the memory was fairly recent. Only about 4 months ago.

“Well, that and I suppose I did get in trouble for flirting from time to time. Not sure I would’ve survived for very long in the old Jedi Order!”

He looked at the wall again, lost in thought about Mila.

“To be honest, if it weren’t for my master disappearing recently….I’d probably still be the carefree, happy-go-lucky buffoon who’d be more interested in racing star fighters, speeders, and hitting on girls. You or Master Mila would’ve probably slapped me upside the head by now, and we might’ve never had this conversation!”

He laughed a bit again, thinking back on those memories once more, lost in thought. A wave of uncertainty played across his face while he thought about it.

“Still….I……”

He then turned to Alyse and spoke.

“I'm being torn apart. I want to be free of this pain…….I know what I have to do but I don't know if I have the strength to do it……Will you help me?”

And there it was, behind all the admission that there were means in which the young Jedi tried to pre-occupy and distract himself from the inherant darkside that resided within his core - came the admission that it was tearing him appart, before imploring that he wished to be free of the pain and torment. A wry smile crossed the blonde Sith's features, as she she slowly shook her head, her eyes closing as she did so. "It seems that the Jedi will never learn" Alyse sighed, before she opened her eyes and focused her gaze onto the young Padawan and then away to her side to the Jedi text she had retrieved from the lock box, her legs folding over one another as she opened the book and flicked through the pages of parchment.

Her brow furrowing as she read over the passages warning the intended students of the Darkside, her eyes visibly scanning over the scrawled text as a light hissing sound escaped from her lips as she sucked in air through her teeth. "The one thing to remember Brahe, that it is not your fault" Alyse spoke out as she closed the book shut and returned her attention to the young Padawan, her gaze falling upon the young man infront of her. "How are you expected to guard agaisnt what you don't truly understand" the Sith rehtorically questioned with a shrug, before tucking the Jedi text into the satchel she had brought with her.

The blonde's hands wrapped around her elevated knee, as she silently studied the young Jedi, reaching out with the Force and sending silken probing strands that encompased Brahe, skirting around his peripheray senses and measuring the way that the young padawan's emotions radiated from within carried by the Force. Her staring intently at the Jedi as she continued to assess the Jedi, her mind musing on how it would be best to assist the young Padawan in his plight, her lips periodically pursing in thought.

"I Will help you, though you must accept that my methods will not be what the Jedi will approve of" Alyse declared, breaking the tense silence. "This will hurt you, you will feel a pain like no other. If at any moment you feel you cannot continue then you must tell me to stop" she continued, before raising up to her feet and stepping away from the container she had perched herself upon, advancing towards the young Jedi Padawan.

As the blonde Sith advanced the chestnut hue of her irises faded, her eyes replaced with a deathly milky white pair of orbs - the concentration of the Force that was flowing through her being made evident through the turbulent ebbs and flow of the currents of energies that radiated out from her, yet it was not the Force as Brahe would know it. It was raw, cold and oppresively thick. Like the corruption that had taken over the young sith's ghastly and darkening features, the Force that flowed around them was dripping with the darkside.

Yet despite what Brahe may have prepared himself for, anticipating the Sith to direct the surging energies that built up around her into the young Jedi, all the Padawan would sense is that the energies was pulling at him, drawing away at his body as if there were a leak in an air lock, as the corrupting powers of the darkside were being drawn out of the Jedi from every pore and orriface on his body. In an instant of seething and blinding pain, the darkness within Brahe had focused into a central point before feeling like it was tearing out through his flesh in a flash of blinding darkness.

As the light started to return to it's percieved normal, it became clear that a third shadowy figure had appeared - standing between Alyse and Brahe, its dark smoke like form almost resembling the Jedi in appearance, its gaze focusing on the blonde haired Sith for a moment before it turned to face Brahe, deep crimson orbs locking squarely with the Jedi's own gaze. "Hello lamenter"

He nodded and steeled himself for what was to come, although he wasn’t entirely sure what she intended to do to help him. He knew what HE had to do, or at least thought he knew, but that thought was thrown into the recesses of his mind as he suddenly felt the surge of the dark side tear at his very soul.

“Gaaaah! Aaaargh!”

The blinding, searing pain ravaged his mind and body almost instantaneously, the sudden shock of it all causing him to drop to the floor as he writhed in sheer agony and pain while the apparition was drawn out of his body.

“Gyaahhhh!"

He fidgeted and rolled on the ground more, before the apparition was fully pulled from him, leaving a weakened, sweating Brahe struggling on the floor to catch his breath. Upon sight of the abomination he reacted almost on instinct, reaching out with a hand and delivering a force push in it’s direction. Shipping containers and other debris within the ruin went flying as the blast of invisible force energy impacted them, causing debris to smash up against the walls of the room they were in, but the apparition appeared unaffected by such an attack.

Brahe glared at it, glancing back at Alyse, then at it.

“W-what IS that abomination?!” He exclaimed, as he stumbled wearily to his feet, panting heavily.
