Classes Requests

As we start gearing up to finish our reforms (and we're still waiting on the admins to prune the boards to the specifications we agreed to), I thought I'd get the ball rolling on classes, etc. we'll be offering. Now keep in mind we'll be offering OOC classes (on writing, PvPing, and generally having a funner/better time as a RPer.)

If any of you have any requests (either IC or OOC) let us know here.

We should definitely have a seminar on developing your character before the character, a class on how to make a well developed profile. Most people just say 'eff it and slap something together thinking they'll work it out in RP, which usually ends up pretty lackluster and confusing.

But I like this idea, it'd also be a pretty fun thing to do, brain storm up a bunch of character examples and such.

Shiuzu: Agreed. I already have a character FAQ thread and whatnot up to that effect. /Three steps ahead of you.

Anyhow, insofar as what's on the docket, I've gotten Mars --PvPer extraordinaire-- to agree to help me host some PvP classes and to help develop a fighting style (team based) for the IK. So there's that. We should also have some primers on how to write good espionage scenes and themes.

But cool, we could learn to fight as Cells and even have one-on-ones and the such. And with however many members we're getting we could have just a huge army of force users in every battle we go into!

That's part of our ethos. OOCly the Sith have some great PvPers. So we change the paradigm.

Very much agreed. It will also be a good faction-building exercise. I know a lot of people see IC-roleplaying in classes like the Jedi do a great deal of as boring, but it allows you to learn how others RP (thus OOC team-building) and adds flavor to your faction.

Anyhow list so far:

- PvP
- Principles of stealth (I want to make sure all our members can RP avoiding forensic evidence, etc. Don't wanna make our enemies lives easier
- History

I'd gladly lead a class on Guerilla warfare. Things like run, and gun, the fancy use of explosives. Getting away, and what not. ^^

I could also give piloting lessons to those who'd like to fly and be the next han solo

This blurs the line between class and mission, but I could easily do a thread where Natale and a few IK knock over a Sith bank-- using the opportunity to teach recon, intelligence gathering, disguise techniques and mission planning.

Missions are learning opportunities. And I wholeheartedly approve. Indeed, if some people wanted to do IC simulated missions as a class, that would be cool rather than just having the usual "character lectures class on point x," etc. Not to knock that style but variety is the spice of life.
