Koran felt how the Force was being 'weaved' around his leg. The Kiffar reacted instantly. He sacrificed another bit of his energy (which he was still gathering for that finisher move) to quickly absorb the Force Currents of Elyphys.

He was also aware of Elyphys catching up with him. Koran hated to do this, because this way he'd sacrifice just another bit of his energy, but he had to in order to stay alive. And after all; the two bits of energy he'd used in this turn were minimal.

He leaped forwards, into the air, completely avoiding Elyphys' swing with the gladius. He landed a few meters up ahead. There was quite a distance between him and Elyphys now. Koran turned around to face Elyphys and continued to gather the Power of the Force. By now he'd already gathered enough to crush this entire arena, and he gathered even more.

Koran smiled faintly. With his arms down at his sides, he just glanced over to the pale man.

It was almost over.

It was now, or never. Having seen his opponent cheat death time and again, Elyphys could only keep his senses focused on the kiffar. Energy crackled through his body, his fingers extending as every joint in his body clicked. The immense surge of force energy seemed to tear apart the very fringes of reality between the two force sensitives.

With a roar, Elyphys released the maelstrom, the purple energies manifesting through his hands. The blast would cover the entire section of the arena they were standing in, even the very sand that they stood on would too obliterate into nothing. Even the surface of Elyphys's own hands were charred slightly, despite his control over the arcane energies.

Seeking destruction of all, flesh, bone or soul, the dark energies would satisfy it's thirst. Holding his monstrous grin in place, Elyphys's cyan eyes flared to a peak previously unreachable momentarily. The light in the eyes dimmed, and Elyphys could feel a hollowness within him that was rapidly spreading. If one was looking behind him, they'd see that the red smear on his back was becoming active again, the red liquid painting his pale body with startling swiftness.

Well, this was it then. Elyphys used the powerful blast to try to kill Koran. Unfortunately for Elyphys, Koran had already gathered an enormous amount of energy himself and with all that energy, it was very easy to stop the blast.

He reached out with his right hand. His handpalm was open. He closed his eyes and a moment later the wind and the sand blew against him. His dreadlocks danced in the strong wind. But the towering Kiffar stood still. He stood a titan.

When the blast was gone, Koran let his arm fall to his side. The Force had protected him against the blast. He had to use all his reserved energy, but at least he still stood tall in the sunlight.

Clenching the hilt of his gladius in his left hand, he glanced over to Elyphys, to see how his opponent was doing. For all Koran knew, this fight might not be over yet.

Everyone in the crowd held their breaths, anxiously looking at Elyphys. Was he dead? Was he still alive? What was going to happen now?

When the sand had settled down, the crowd would see the tall figure struggling to stand firm on his two feet. Though he was unscathed from the gargantuan exchange of force energies, his legs were losing strength rapidly. Elyphys bared his teeth, attempting to draw onto the force to mend his neglected wound. It was too little too late, and his vision was slowly but surely fading. "Heh..." Was a croak that escaped his throat as his left knee finally gave and buckled. Staying upright on one knee with his gladius clutched in his right hand, Elyphys gazed forward.

The darkness that filled him was far from dissipating. Rather, they jeered their former master, goading and taunting him for having failed in his task. Laughing, Elyphys slammed his left hand against the ground, heaving himself to his feet. Panting but definitely standing, Elyphys smiled as he welcomed the release that all would face one day.

The towering Kiffar, ignoring the wound on his leg, walked over to Elyphys. He heard the crowd screaming all around him: 'KILL HIM! ****ING KILL HIM!'

Koran clenched the hilt of his gladius, his knuckles were all white. The expression he wore on his face was one of determination. It was so clear that Koran Mak had won this battle. He'd marched out of the sand storm. The blade of his gladius shimmered in the burning sunlight.

He stopped right in front of Elyphys and looked him straight in the eye.

'You hear that?' Koran said, his voice was a raspy whisper. 'Do you hear them?'

(KILL HIM! KILL HIM!)

'They have a message and I am the messenger. Do you understand, Elyphys? You are nothing now. You've been destroyed by the crowd and now it is I who's gotta end you. You were a worthy opponent, but you could never have been a champion. There already is a champion upon these sands...'

Koran raised his gladius of durasteel in the air. As the sunlight fell upon it, it was almost as if he held a lightsaber. In that intense moment of pride and excitement, while the crowd was roaring their message out loud—resounding through the great arena—Koran thrust his sword forwards, stabbing it right through Elyphys abdomen. The tip of the blade came out of Elyphys' back. Blood flew through the air and fell upon the sands. Koran never looked away from Elyphys' empty eyes.

'... and that champion is me.'

He twisted the blade, mashing up Elyphys' gut. Then he pulled it out of the warrior's body. The steel of the sword came out together with a rain of blood, that showered the Kiffar. He raised the sword again and in one strong, quick slash, he cut off Elyphys' head. The head fell into the dust and rolled on for a few moments, before finally coming to a stop; staring up to the endless sky above with eyes wide open; staring straight into the sun.

Koran raised his arms, still clenching his bloodied gladius in his right hand. He screamed it all out. His victory; his kill; his message. Three words. Just three words.

'I AM CHAMPION!'

And the crowd screamed back to him. They shouted his name, again and again (Koran! Koran!).

It was over. The battle was over. There he stood; Koran the Undefeated Kiffar. He, a warrior at heart, stood a kriffing Titan.

He was the Titan.

He had won.
