Clan Ordo History and Composition

Eclipsing even Clan Fett in terms of fame and glory over the millennia, Clan Ordo initially rose to prominence thanks to the actions of one man: Canderous Ordo.

Canderous Ordo, later known as Mandalore the Preserver (Te Taylir Mand'alor in Mando'a), was a Mandalorian of Clan Ordo who fought in the Mandalorian Wars from 3,976 BBY to 3,960 BBY. While serving with the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders, he participated in several battles, earning significant glory and prestige with his bold tactics and leadership. Despite their many successes, the Mandalorians were decisively defeated by Republic forces under the command of the Jedi Knight Revan, and Ordo was among the survivors who were forced to give up their weapons in unconditional surrender. The Mandalorians scattered across the galaxy and Ordo began working as a mercenary, eventually joining an amnesiac Revan in his battle against Darth Malak's Sith Empire.

After the conflict, Ordo reclaimed the mask of Mandalore with Revan's help and became the first leader of the Mandalorians since their defeat in the war. Revan soon regained memories of a threat in the Unknown Regions and left known space, instructing Ordo to restore the strength of the Mandalorians in preparation for his return. Ordo then began the arduous task of reuniting the scattered clans and rebuilding their military power.

Since that day there have been other members of Clan Ordo who have risen to prominence, but Canderous Ordo has been and will always be a man by which all future actions are measured.

In more recent times, the fire of Clan Ordo has been reignited by the actions of Apollo Ordo, current Clan Leader. In the time leading up to the Mandalorian Civil War, Apollo proved himself as an extremely capable warrior and leader of men. When events unfolded which led to the Civil War, it was Apollo who joined with soon-to-be Mand'alor Corden Vencu to formally establish the Mandalorian Separatist Movement.

With the charisma of Corden Vencu allied with the military might of Apollo Ordo, the outcome of the Mandalorian Civil War was a foregone conclusion. The Separatists emerged victorious, though Corden stopped short of complete annihilation of their enemies in an attempt to foster good will and bridge the gap which warfare and bloodshed had caused.

It was at a meeting of the Clans, called by Vencu, that such a healing was supposed to occur. It was ultimately successful, though an assassination-attempt nearly caused the entire gathering to descend into chaos. Were it not for the quick response of Jon Viggo, aide-de-camp to Apollo Ordo, the would be assassin could have succeeded in plunging the entire Mandalorian people back into bloody warfare.

As it is, though the Clans are again unified, Clan Ordo has not forgotten the attempt made against their leader's life. Nor have they gotten over the fact that the would-be assassin was never identified. As such, Ordos view their "brothers" with a thinly veiled level of suspicion and hostility.

Clan Composition:

Clan Ordo considers itself the best of the best, for good reason. In the words of Mand'alor Vencu, "When something has to get done right, without compromise, the first time, you go to the Ordo."

This mentality has led to Clan Ordo typically attracting the biggest, meanest warriors around. However, well hidden beneath this public persona lies a group of Ordos who realize that in some situations, "A knife in the dark is more valuable than a thousand swords at dawn." It is these Dark Knives who work behind the scenes to control Clan Ordo, and in many ways all the Clans, in order to lead the Mandalorian people down the proper path.
