Cipher Three's Infiltrator Suit

Although calling it "armor" is perhaps a bit of a stretch, that is the closest classification for what this suit is. It is designed to help the wearer infiltrate locations without being detected. The primary feature is that the entire suit is made out of or covered in scatterweave to assist with defeating sensors. Beyond that, the bulk of the protection is supplied by front and back torso armorplast covered in scatterweave. Has a chrono on the right wrist and a datapad connected to computer spike on the inside of the left. Mounting on the head allows sliding vision-enhancing goggles into or out of position.

LEGALITY

For military and intelligence use. Without the headwear it might be able to be worn in public with some sort of coat or jacket over it, but it is likely to draw unwanted attention when worn blatantly in public.

INTENT

I wanted an infiltrator suit that fits with my intelligence character. This is all within the generic rules laid out for armor.

Type and Coverage

Type: Light/Medium/Heavy Armor

Coverage: Light
  • Torso: Full torso, segmented armorplast plate covered in scatterweave
  • Back: Full back, segmented armorplast plate covered in scatterweave

Functions

Function 1: Scatterweave
  • An incredibly rare and expensive material. Scatterweave is a coating that reflects very little light, making it extremely useful for sneaking at night. It also "scatters" the wearer's heat signature, making it difficult for automated sensor systems or thermal visors to get a precise fix on the wearer's location without intense scans.
Function 2: Vision Modes
  • This Allows a Helmet HUD to cycle to low-light and thermal vision modes.
Function 3: Computer Spike
  • Computer spikes are used to forcibly decrypt or unlock computer terminals. Most civilian systems can be cracked in one posting round, while most military or hardened systems take two or more.
Function 4: Mag Boots
  • Magnetic boots contain electromagnets in the soles and allow for enhanced movement on ferrous surfaces in microgravity or steep gradients. This functionality must be turned on or off manually by a button or switch.
Function 5: Grapple Hook
  • Grapple lines are capable of supporting the weight of 1-2 people and can launch up to ranges typically up to 15 meters away. Once no longer in use, they are detached from the launcher and left behind. While hand-held grapple guns are capable of auto-winching, armor or wrist mounted devices lack this ability. Grapple lines must be manually activated and controlled by a button or switch.
