Chiss Ascendancy Patrol Fleet

The Ascendancy Patrol Fleet is one of the pride and joys of the Chiss Ascendancy. Each made up of varying ships, these fleets are designed to patrol every detectable inch of the Chiss border territory. Using advanced sensor technology, they slowly move along their designated routes, changed weekly, and sweep for any and all activity. This makes smuggling, ambushes, and fleeing the Ascendancy virtually impossible. Of the Patrol fleets, there are two main divisions they can be separated into.

The first division are large patrol fleets made up of strong capital ships, cruisers, frigates, and carriers. They lie in wait outside of hyperspace routes and troublesome areas and wait for signals sent by the minefield sensor bases that intruders have been detected. Upon receiving these signals, they micro-jump to the troubled area, engage the enemy, and eliminate them. Powerful and swift, they are also equipped with drone control technology, so that upon arrival they may take control of the drones away from the drone bases. Remote control from there allows them to stop enemies from destroying and sort of main control hub and disabling the drones.

The second division are smaller patrol fleets made up mostly of Frigates and a few cruisers. They patrol the border regularly and are on standby for all areas of the outer minefield. As the second line of defense, they often arrive at troubled areas before the large patrol fleets and are tasked with holding off then enemy for a small amount of time so that the larger fleets can arrive and crush the intruders.

These fleets, while varying in ship types, always have a fairly consistent number in sizes, with the larger fleet often reaching sizes of thirty to forty large ships, and the smaller patrol fleets consisting of ten to twenty smaller vessels.
