Essential information

Charlie Ballard, referred to lovingly as “Char” is a 10-ish year old semi-human. She has platinum blonde hair with what seems to be a perpetual case of sunburn on her pale body, probably from growing up in the wilderness. Her cheeks, shoulders, and kneecaps are tinted slightly red- but the rest of her looks as if it hasn’t even seen the sun. Charlie is force-sensitive but knows nothing of proper teaching.

Biography

Charlie lived her early life in the wilderness, mostly fending for herself. From a very young age she has been alone, surviving alongside her reclusive parents. Equipped with a crude bow and some home-made arrows, she would hunt to pass the day. Her skills in hunting didn’t lie in the weapons, but the girl herself. Her bow, not even fit with a string, would be bent and used with the force.

One day, a kind man wandered into the forest she called home. He was hurt and asked if she had guardians that could help. She took him to their small cabin, patching up his wounds. He was a Jedi, sent to the planet they were on to get some recon on what he said were, “the bad guys.” Charlie’s parents treated him with kindness, so he told them that he will return the favor by training their daughter. At first, Charlie’s parents didn’t see how that was a nice thing to do, but realized that they can’t protect their daughter forever- she had to learn how to protect herself.

The man, who identified himself to Charlie as Mr. J (short for jedi), took her to a place that was filled with kids around her age. What he was really interested in is not necessarily paying back a debt, but what he saw (and sensed) when he first met her- The Force. He knew that Charlie needed a place where she could hone her skills both mentally and physically. She needed grounds beyond the forest, to interact with her own kind. Charlie at first was very shy when arriving at “The school”, as she called it, but excelled in the world of academia. She already had some fighting skills, so her lessons there were more advanced.

Personality

Charlie is reserved, but kind. She doesn’t like to butt heads but will do so if it means protecting someone innocent. She has a drive for knowledge and a passion for making the world right. However, she can be very stubborn. This is good when it comes to training since she won’t give up, but bad when she runs into a social or educational wall. She won’t budge.

Skills

Charlie knows how to properly use the Force to bend and use bow & arrows, but is still hard at work with everything else. She picked up quickly on hand-to-hand combat, and seems to be doing well with a training saber.
Besides anything Jedi related, Charlie has a high reading level and quite enjoys writing and storytelling. Once, while on a free period, she convinced one of her classmates that the forest creatures she grew up around understood her language, even sometimes replying back. She got reprimanded for spreading falsehoods.
