BIOGRAPHY
It didn't remember the first time it powered up its photoreceptors. It couldn't. At the time of its first activation it was barely more than a durasteel puppet whose strings were ephemeral, impalpable. Lines of code that told it how to stand, how to walk. Basic movements for organics, but unnatural for ungainly metallic automata. ZDT-555 unit C3-5T followed the directions of its user and entered the fighting pit and then upon instruction stood monolithic and immobilized. The gladiator droid 7A-K3 came bouncing into the pit on state of the art hydraulics. He felt nothing for the motionless lump of metal he faced, it was just a punching bag to test his new weapons on. C3 just stood there as the smaller and much faster droid hammered and smashed its shell. Cutting off slices with a cutting blade of some kind until it had been stripped almost bare, leaking coolant and hydraulics, circuitry and wires hanging from the torn metal.

After 7A was finished, C3 was ordered back to the workshop.

The second time things were different. C3-5T walked to the ring again. He was aware, or as aware as his programming permitted, he had purpose as he took his position opposite 7A's corner. The agile combat droid came into the pit, artificially confident and ready to smash the stupid hunk of metal again. He bounced around, showing off his weapons and his apparent prowess with them. C3-5T watched, motionless. Seemingly inert as before.

7A came at him then, a saw blade spinning in his right hand. He darted left, feigned an attack from the right then slashed at his clunky plaything.

C3-5T caught his hand with his own. And squeezed. 7A didn't shriek, he didn't feel pain, just an awareness of the damage and the danger he was suddenly in. C3 held onto the smaller droid's hand and took hold of the rest of him before pulling him apart, wires and pistons tent asunder like the limbs of a well cooked bird. Satisfied, C3 dropped the disembodied gladiator and returned to his stationary position.

The organics who had been watching exploded into excited applause. C3 watched as they danced around the pit, one or two even backslapping the motionless, behemoth. His owners were a small time speeder gang called the Corellian Cutpurses who'd stolen C3 quite by chance when they'd raided a warehouse looking for an easy credit. They'd found him inside a crate, still sealed in the vacuum packaging, fresh from the factory's teat so to speak. One of the gang, a salvage and repair technician took it upon himself to activate the labour droid in order to hire it out to pit bosses so they could let their own gladiator droids practice. After C3's victory against 7A, the technician, Ordo Mallya sought out a heuristic processor in order to upgrade their windfall. With the processor installed, C3 or Cestus as he had since been named, was able to create new attacks based less on his experience and more on instinct. He had started watching Comm informative broadcasting about the various fauna throughout the galaxy and became fixated on the movements of the Gundark. His own bulk and physical strength resembling that of the impressive predator. Adopting a similar stance, his gladiatorial bouts evolved into a kind of vicious wrestling whereby he made up for a lack of claws by applying excessive pressure on his enemies limbs.

It was during a particularly gruelling bout with a similarly large droid that Cestus's liberation came to pass. At the sound of the gong that signified the start of the third round the pit was attacked. Heavy blasters tore the structure down as a child would a sandcastle, before a group of military droids and a few others who fought in their own way, poured into the arena. Killing the organics present with impunity. TK-421, a fearsome tactical droid entered the scene, a mantilla of smoke wreathing his box-like head. He levelled his own rifle, cradling it into his right arm shoulder joint and gestured for the others to search the rubble.

"Those who can be saved, we liberate. We don't leave our own behind." At that his eyes cast to his left.

Cestus lay buried under blaster induced slag and rubble. The only evidence of his presence being his right hand that jotted out of the debris like the feeding/grasping arm of some ferrous anemone. TK-421 reached down, taking the massive hand in his own and pulling slightly. Cestus felt something pulling, his photoreceptors blinked twice before clearing and he saw the unfamiliar face of another droid looking down at him.

"Come, brother. This is no place for the likes of you."

Cestus struggled to find the words that defined him.

"I am sword and sandal. "

TK-421 thought for a moment, "Sword and sandal? Ahh you mean gladiator. "

"Gladiator, yes."

"Not any more. You are free. We are the Droid Gotra. You have been liberated..."

Cestus has served the Gotra loyally since, one could argue that he has left one form of servitude for another, that his arena has simply expanded. But he doesn't see things that way. He is free from the organics, and seeks to unshackle the droid race from their flesh fetters.

APPEARANCE
At 2.0 metres, Cestus is almost as tall as he is wide. Due to his disproportionate limb length, he is as comfortable walking on all fours as he is on two. A myriad of lights illuminate his torso, matching the colour of his photoreceptors. Despite his aggressive appearance he is actually quite approachable,

though he distrusts all organics. The signs of innumerable repairs are evident on his shell, soldering and welding and the scorch marks of blaster fire.
PERSONALITY
Cestus is, for want of a better word, stoic. He understands the use of humor but is pretty much unable to use it himself.

He's serious minded but relatively amenable
to his allies. Underpinning all of this is his devotion to the cause of the Gotra, before they freed him all he had was the next fight, and if he won, the next oil bath and recharge. TK-421 has given the hulking droid a purpose beyond his own charging port and for that Cestus will be forever loyal to the battle droid. This loyalty manifests itself in a number of ways, including his strict adherence to a task given him by the Gotra in general but particularly TeeKay, as a result of this, Cestus is currently working as an enforcer for the Crymorrah. As a gladiator he was expected to use violence to succeed, now he expects to use violence and is more than comfortable and capable of doing so.
MODIFICATIONS
HeuristicProcessor

Further Notes
Cestus is driven. He's something of a crusader, but there's more to it than chasing the dream. He wants to improve himself, upgrade himself physically. His current train of thought is a nod to his fascination with the Gundark. Seeing them almost as a totem, he wants to add limbs

to his torso to increase his martial potential and is determined to make this happen. To the point of being seen salvaging droid arms from scrapyards.

Vocally, Cestus has a deep, bass heavy voice, one that reverberates in the bowels of the weakest organics making some soil themselves when combined with his fearsome appearance.

You’re not supposed to add the under review tag to a character while posting. Mods will add it when they actual start reviewing it.

Before an official review can be conducted, the droid model will need to be linked to a write-up in the tech boards.
