Since the dawn of history as we know it, one species stands apart as the scavengers of Tatooine. Jawas had remained somewhat mysterious over the centuries and few had moved beyond the life of a scavenger. Cazus had always felt pecial among his Sandcrawler tribe on Tatooine. The biggest danger to a Jawa was usually a sandstorm, not a Tusken Raider or Bounty Hunter. A young Cazus was known to have mysteriously survived a brutal storm untouched when he was too slow to make it to shelter. It was as if a bubble had protected the little guy. Many called it a miracle, or a blessing from a shaman. Caz knew he was special. The tribe wouldn't care. They would move on and expect him to be no different, but he knew he wanted to explore and do something different with his life. That in itself also made him a bit odd in the eyes of his peers.

Stripping vehicles, ships, droids, and other goods left unattended was the life for his tribe. They did not often trade goods with locals, but instead were known as part and material sellers. A Jedi was known to visit the planet from time to time, and Cazus had seem him trade with his tribe. It was almost as if he was drawn to them, or maybe them to him. A juvenile Jawa was easy to miss in a crowded Tatooine street and certainly easy to miss when the Sandcrawler pulled away from town without him. Adventure took bold risk and the little guy decided to follow the Jedi. It seemed the connection was mutual as the Jedi had been expecting little Caz to come along one of these times. Master Oneri took in the Jawa as his apprentice right then on Tatooine.

The challenges of being a Jedi were certainly different for Cazus than they were for the Jedi of old. Selfish uses of the force were not supposed to be commonplace among a Jedi, but Caz struggled to get through it as a Padawan. He often would disable a droid or steal something with the force during training. It was not done with dark intent, but was rather a cultural misunderstanding. A Jawa was simply taught from birth that anything was free for the taking if it was not guarded. Many years of Jedi training were needed to break this habit. At least, mostly break the habit. One benefit of this early mindset was learning Cazus' focus as a Jedi. The Jawa would focus on using the force to accomplish tasks rather than a lightsaber or physical abilities. He excelled in skills such as disabling droids, projections, illusions, and similar abilities.

Nearly a decade of life as a Padawan turned Cazus into a real Jedi. His trials were many, and he had conquered them. Jawa heritage certainly shaped what kind of Jedi he had become, but he was more Jedi than Jawa. Master Oneri had deemed the Padawan ready to become a Knight and the Jedi Order seemed to agree. Caz ascended to Jedi Knight and was given more independence. It was time for the Jawa to write his own future and discover what the force willed for him.

A common stereotype about Jawas is that they can often be childish in nature. This is mostly due to their size and is not usually true, but is pretty true for Cazus. He enjoys spending time with others and is very generous whenever possible. A leftover condition of his padawan training was learning to give rather than take, and it is permanently ingrained in his mind now. There is still a draw to adventure that has existed inside of Caz since birth. New places and new experiences are highly valued.

Justice and fairness were never able to make it to a "top five" most important features for Cazus. Growing up on Tatooine just did not allow him to believe in such concepts like the Jedi. At least not as fully. To him, scum will always exist and the galaxy will never be fair nor will everyone get justice. Maintaining peace and negotiating it are more in Cazus' wheelhouse. Peace can always be achieved to some degree. Even the Jawa tribes were usually at peace with the wild sand people. Caz believes that fighting should be a last resort, and even that should only be in defense and without causing harm.

The Jawa inside of Caz still loves Droids and technology as well. A gift of a new droid or of something he can take apart is always most enjoyed. Sentient droids will have a hard time with Cazus. He sees them as technology to be owned, taken apart, and experimented on. In his eyes they are not beings with rights or freedom. They are property that can be like a friend. This is not something that will easily, or perhaps ever, change for him.

Characters cannot start with any sort of reputation, this includes even reputation within their tribe or family. Cazus wouldn't be able to then be seen as a 'legend' within his own tribe after his survival of the sand storm or have the members of his tribe wish for him to become a Shaman. There's isn't anything wrong with him having survived the sandstorm itself, but you'll need to fix some of the wording.

Please tag me when completed for review.

Made the change. Wasn't really my intention so I reworded it so that the EVENT was the miracle not the kid.
