Shuffling through the door with the Pyke in her arms, Zaia was content to let Adenn do the talking. With Cas coming from the other side, the Pykes had to know they were surrounded and outmatched. Although, based on the way they responded, they were too ignorant to see it.

When one of the sentinels made a sudden movement towards her, the electrostaff went straight for her and the Pyke she’d been holding. Her former hostage now motionless on the ground and her arms free, Zaia blocked the next blow with her gauntlet as she reached for a blaster. However, the quick movement didn’t go unnoticed and before she was able to grab it, the sentinel had used the other end of the staff to prevent her from reaching it.

Narrowing her eyes, Zaia grabbed the center of the staff with her left hand in between where the Pyke was holding it and yanked it hard towards her. Stumbling forward, she took the chance to suddenly push him backwards to loosen his grip on the weapon. The staff now in her possession, she turned it on him, knocking his legs out and planting it into his chest.

She looked up to see Cas and Adenn more than holding their own, the former spewing out a flame and the latter having stabbed a Pyke right in the heart.

“You’re beaten. Tell your men to stand down and you might just save a few more lives.” Zaia doubted that they would take her offer given that they were Pykes, but it was worth a try. It was never too late to change.

After hard fighting all around, the Pykes had been offered a bit of an ultimatum by Zaia Krodas. When Casany heard her sister’s voice, she knew there was no backing down. Like thunder, there was no stopping the storm.

“She means it,” Cas cast her own voice in unison. By now, she had one of the esteemed martial artists at the throat, her blade to it, her enemy on his knees and herself standing behind him. “Stand down. No one else has to die today.”

The Pyke, the one leading the rest, was yet just one Vonvon Brother of three. Cas had not let that slip past herself. Where indeed are your two brothers?

“You fools,”
that brother laughed. “Have you forgotten? I have not.” He looked from Casany to Zaia to Adenn to Etr. “You are Mandalorians. You are warriors. The greatest warriors in the galaxy!” He folded his arms as though he were not at death’s door but, rather, death was waiting on him and he had not the time of day for it. “I, however, am a Pyke. We are Pykes.”

Dank ferrik.
Cas swore to the stars, to the stubbornness of Pykes, but also to this Pyke’s finger as it tapped an arm. It was a neat trick but, well, this Mandalorian had taken down enough bounties to spy said trick from afar.

[“He’s calling for backup.”] She spoke solely in the internal comlink of her helmet. [“I’m guessing a ship to spring him out of here and, since his brothers appear to not be in this central car, them too. Let’s get the Mistress up here pronto.”]
