Pyke Syndicate: Capital Ship Needed
All in the name, the Pyke Syndicate needs a new Capital Ship
foc44Zn.jpg

The Target
A large Star-Destroyer was the original target but after factoring in the insane need for an enormous crew to operate, the target was scaled back to this Heavy Cruiser, which would require a lot less man power to operate. The ship is currently manned by a fame seeking captain with anti-pirating goals. She is currently flying solo in open space near the outer rim. The plan is simple, everyone will be on The Wolf, posing as cargo vessel under attack by pirates. Mae Tecono has already assigned some of her scoundrels to engage The Wolf and then jump out as soon as the Capital ship arrives. Mae will then want to thank their rescuers in person, but when they link up with the ship, they will board her instead. As we are trying to capture the ship, heavy explosives are not permitted, but no prisoners' are required so killing everything is allowed.

Mae piloted the Wolf as her wingmen fired ion bolts randomly in the direction of her ship. The deception was in place. She and her "Cargo" vessel were under attack by pirates. They were under attack in the direct path of an incoming pirate hunting heavy cruiser. Mae signaled to her command staff to issue the distress beacon. "To all ships in the vicinity, we are under attack by pirates, please help!" Another part of the deception.

Not 5 minutes after they started their distress calls, did their target jump into direct contact 5 kilometers behind them. As the ship approached, her wingmen knew it was time to bug out, and the trap had been sprung.

Mae flipped another switch and the heat signature of her engines went cold and a special device was triggered venting fumes into space near the engines. This combined with a strategic thruster burst or two, and the Wolf spun in an undefined spiral into open space. Looking like a disabled and adrift craft, the Wolf was soon caught in a tractor beam by the Heavy Cruiser.

"Thank you for your assistance! Our engines have been disabled. I don't know what we would have done without your help!" Mae pleaded over the communications to their saviors.

"Don't worry, ma'am, we will have you docked in just a moment and have dispatched our engineering team to the hatch to get your engines up and running in no time!" The captain of the cruiser replied.

Mae looked over her shoulder at @Rafe and smiled. She had played the part of the damsel in distress perfectly, and now it was time for them to see her true colors as she lead @Rafe , @Sepiks Redux and the others to the boarding hatch that connected the two ships. She also had about 50 scoundrels that she had picked up over the course of her last few missions meet them there, fully loaded with combat gear.

As soon as the doors opened, Mae pulled her double peacemakers out and shot the first four engineers in the head as the others froze in shock and disbelief.

Sepiks was pretty skeptical of non-Pykes leading the missions while he was stuck making spice and shipping out to druggies. Rafe was a strong leader and all, but the dog was just that. A drooling dog. Not a Pyke. The Pyke Syndicate didn't feel like the Pyke Syndicate as far as Sepiks was concerned. They had turned into pirates and terrorists instead of a mysterious drug cartel that once held footholds all over the galaxy.

However, Sepiks couldn't argue with the surprise progress Rafe had been making. The Pykes were becoming feared again, and fear was always good for business. Like today, Sepiks was about to hijack a cruiser alongside the furry Crime Lord along with a red head Sepiks had never heard of before. Maybe it was all that time he spent away from the action, and he was itching at chance to prove himself.

After the Wolf docked with the cruiser, Mae didn't wait at all to open fire on the crew of the ship. Sepiks would've liked for some of them to remain alive so he could employ them or sell them himself, but he was with pirates. Not Pykes. With his own blaster pistol, a CC-420, Sepiks took down a few more crew members before they could react.

"Pathetic meat-bags...Their flesh is weak." Grumbled the Pyke Scoundrel.

Rafe sat in the front of the cargo bay, dozens of Pyke soldiers onboard for this crazy plan, including @Sepiks Redux and @Mae Tecono, Rafe was somewhat questionable about this plan since its inception, this put them at quite the disadvantage, and the mercy of the Cruiser was required for this to work at all..

Somehow Mae had pulled off the most pertinent step, getting them to dock with her ship.. Rafe would sigh in relief when the tube connected, and the doors opened, he was sure any wrong move would result in everyone on board dead before they had a chance..

Rafe nodded in a approval when Mae and Sepiks and dozens of others pushed their way onboard, the Cruiser they were invading didn't have a huge crew, but held the potential for thousands of passengers onboard.. something else Rafe wasn't looking forward to should they become combative against the less than a hundred Pyke forces they'd brought on this ship.

Rafe would be brining up the tail for this one, a strange position for The Big Bad Wolf.. who was so very used to being on the front of every assault, this mission however would be ran by the woman who put it all together, and Rafe was dedicated to seeing it through to its success.

The rest of the forces had punctured the ship, and Rafe made his way toward the entrance, his T-7 Ion Disruptor Rifle in hand, Let's get it.. Rafe said to himself as he stepped inside the Cruiser. Most of the combat ahead of him still.

Rafe whistled at three of the Pykes, With me.. he said as he took the turn that would eventually lead them to the bridge. Hopefully they could make it there before someone raised an alarm, probably wouldn't be long though..

As Rafe signaled that he was heading for the bridge, Mae pointed to the crew rooms a mess hall for Sepiks to go with his men. Then, Mae turned to go to engineering and the cargo hold with her men. She knew that the cargo hold that could house up to thousands of battle droids or troops for an invasion was most likely empty as this was a pirate hunting ship and for it to empty such large quantities of ground assault personnel would be far too expensive for such a job or faction could handle. But to put the others minds at ease, she headed that way to clear it regardless.

They met another group in the hall leading up to the first large bay. They were not alerted to the presence of danger yet and were quickly mowed down by blaster fire from Mae's scoundrels. They pushed on and as they entered the first large cargo and crew hold, Mae was shocked to find it empty, even after already convincing herself they would be. She was hoping that her thoughts were not wishful thinking and that she might have walked her small force into something they could not handle, but greatful that was un-true and that they only had 50-100 crew to take care of.

Mae pushed on.

Sepiks didn't have any men to lead so he followed with Mae to help her secure the engineering and cargo hold. The Pyke needed to make sure he proved himself to be more than the weak flesh that he was bound to by mortality. One day, he would be free of such limitations, but for now, he had to do what he could so he wasn't confined to brewing spice for the syndicate.

"If no one is here, we'll secure it and use it as a choke point." Sepiks informed her non-Pyke leader. "We should push for the bridge with Rafe. The mess hall does not need securing unless any of you forgot to eat breakfast." The cybernetic Pyke grumbled before making his way back to the main corridor so he could hopefully find and assist Rafe.

Rafe rounded a corner, as he did so they spotted a large grouping of people heading the same direction as Rafe and his Pykes, putting their backs toward the heavily armed pirates. Rafe simply nodded at his men, just as the four of them together raised their weapons and began firing in unison, the three pykes were using medium blaster rifles, in conjunction with Rafe's disruptor rifle the group ahead of them began to disintegrate and burn up from behind, there had been over a dozen of them walking, now all laying dead on the floor, or floating through the air as left over ash. They'd maintained a high efficiency, but not all of them had been downed before they had a chance to scream out, resulting in a echo that traveled through the hallway...

Up ahead Rafe spotted a head that poked out of a doorway perpendicular to the hallway, raising his rifle he hit the face of the man, his body disappearing into nothingness and causing yet another loud scream from inside the room. Pointing with two fingers the pykes beside Rafe bolted forward and began rapidly firing into the room.

They had yet to be fired back upon and Rafe wondered if there was a dedicated security team onboard, as this many of unarmed beings on a ship was out of the norm. They must be in a different part of the ship.. Rafe thought in reference to whoever it was that would be carrying the guns... someone had to be...

"If no one is here, we'll secure it and use it as a choke point." Sepiks informed
her non-Pyke leader.
Is Sepiks a he, she, or he/she?

Mae made her way to the next door. "I agree, this is a great chokepoint except for the opposite sides access doors need to be secured." Mae agreed with Sepiks. She too believed that this was too easy, and as if the galaxy gods had read her mind, the ships internal alarms began to ring around them. The ships alarm had been raised. They were able to clear nearly half the ship before it was raised but the next half would be much harder as now they were fighting men that knew they were coming. As Mae opened the large blast doors to the next section, she found out why it was so easy up until this point. Mae flinched as two of her enforcers who were also getting cocky with how easy things were going were torn to shreds by repeater fire coming through the now open blast doors. Mae peeked around the corner to see about twenty well armed men at the ready in different forms of cover in the next corridor. Their first engagement with an actual fire team.

"Think you could flank them?" Mae asked Sepiks as she nodded to the doors on the other side of the large room that she was talking about just a moment before.

Just as the alarm began to echo through the halls, and the spinning red lights lit up the way, Rafe and his small crew arrived at the bridge. Several of the crewmen jumped up from their seats, startled by the sudden eruption of the alarm. Just a few seconds later they would spot Rafe and the three Pyke foot soldiers..

As the four began to open fire on the mostly seated crewmembers, several dove to the ground, some tried in vain to run, and just two stood up pulling blasters from holsters, while one had been fired upon, by Rafe, before he had a chance to shoot, the other had managed to squeeze off a shot striking one of Rafe's soldiers in the abdomen. Like a natural reaction all three of the still standing Pykes, Rafe included, fired upon the other armed man at once.

As his body began to evaporate into nothingness, a few screams echoed around the bridge. Rafe would side step as the two standing Pykes continued the executions, tending to the shot man, his injury looked painful but not fatal, You'll be alright.. Rafe would say to the man, picking him up off the ground and setting him in a seat. Rafe made his way over to one of the crewmembers who was huddling under their desk. Come 'ere... Rafe said reaching down with his claw and pulling the man up by his shirt...

Lmao, Sepiks is a dude, that was a typo. @Trix

When the reinforcements finally arrived with heavy weaponry, Sepiks gave Trix a quick nod. "I will do what I can." Then, Sepiks left to the main corridor. Instead of going off towards the bridge, Sepiks took a hallway that would've led him right behind the intruding enemy. He had to be quick and quiet, so he crouched low and held his A280C with a tight grip. The sounds of blaster slowly increased in volume as the Pyke inched closer and closer.

Then, Sepiks could see the man holding the repeater and took aim, nailing the enforcer in the side of the head. Now, without their cover fire, the rest of the crew was screwed over. A few members noticed the death of their comrade and opened fire on Sepiks, so the Pyke began his controlled retreat, returning fire on the remaining crewmates.

Mae first heard and then saw the repeater fire stop. Quickly she rolled out from cover and took aim drilling two others of the enemy as they were distracted by Sepkis. Her scoundrels who had followed her, also began to fire on the confused group of enemy troops and managed to take down another six or seven. With half of their numbers already dead, the rest began to fall back from their position.

Mae quickly ran after them and once she reached the repeater, she quickly turned it around and began to mow down the enemy as they ran. Only two or three of them made it around the corner of the corridor to safety. She then looked over at Sepkis as he approached her. "Well done" she told him before they decided how to finish off the rear of the ship.

Every crewmen on the bridge, except the one in Rafe's claw, had been executed, their bodies piled in the corner while Rafe's Pykes went through their belongings searching for credits and other valuables, even pocketing the small blasters they'd been shot at with.

Looking at the small human Rafe had clenched, he lifted him off the ground a short ways, just enough for his feet to dangle, Where is your security? Rafe asked the man, this was a dam Cruiser, and yet they'd encountered considerably less resistance than Rafe had assumed would be present. Of course he was oblivious to the intense firefight occurring on the lower levels that @Mae Tecono and @Sepiks Redux were entrenched in. Before the man responded the stench of urine filled the air and Rafe's snout curled, why did humans do that so often..

The man's whimpering and his cries had started to anger Rafe, Answer me! He yelled, causing even one of the Pykes to startle a bit. I don't know!! The man cried out, Maybe in the hold!.. he added his voice thick with terror. His response had not thrilled Rafe, raising his other claw Rafe wrenched on the man's neck and head, an echoing pop filling the air.

Dropping the now limp body Rafe fired up his comms, There might be heavy resistance in the cargo hold, keep your heads up.. Rafe said. Sitting down Rafe would wait for a reply as he lit a deathstick, a long drag followed by a deep exhale filled some of the air above him with smoke for a moment before it dissipated.

Sepiks gave a nod of his head to Mae. He was glad he was able to prove to himself and to his fellow Pykes that he was not simple weak flesh. Maybe he'd have to improve his body further after this mission. But for now, the Scoundrel was focused on backing Rafe, the current leader of the Pykes, and see if he can pull off another sneaky stunt. Sepiks left to join the wolf, finding little to no resistance along the way.

"We have already taken care of the problem." Sepiks stated as his gaze drifted to the lifeless human body below Rafe's feet. "Pykes don't kill Pykes, huh?" Whether the guy was just a crew member or an actual member of the Syndicates, Sepiks wasn't so sure what to make of the bloodied wolf. "We could've used him. Didn't you blow up at that Tognath for needlessly killing others? If we exterminate the galaxy, we will have no one to sell spice. Carr would be disappointed." And with that, Sepiks left to join his fellow Pykes in securing the rest of the ship.

Mae proceeded to the rear of the ship, sweeping floor by floor finding minimal resistance. "They apparently sent a full cruiser after us with a fraction of the crew and we only ran into one fire team of less then Forty, how did you fare up your way?" Mae asked Rafe. She too was confused. What if they ran into a pirate stronghold, how would they have breached and take them captive with less then sixty soldiers? The flight deck was decked out and fully loaded with starfighters. The only thing that Mae could think of was that the cruiser was meant to search and destroy from a distance only. They never had orders to take prisoners, just to use their advanced firepower to destroy their foes. "What idiots..." she thought.

Mae had her teams scour the ship for any further resistance but they all came back clean. "There may still be some hiding" She said to her men. She then ordered them back to her ship and asked Rafe "please secure the bridge and turn life support off to the rest of the ship"

In their haste to hide, it be almost impossible for any remaining crew to have grabbed oxygen or breathing equipment. She knew that it would take Rafe a few minutes and also the ship a few minutes to respond and fully shut down. "To any and all remaining crew or this cruiser, make your way to the escape pods immediately or we shall have to scoop your dead corpses out of where ever you are hiding when your corpse has become too smelly not to notice." It was very blunt and to the point.

The comments of @Sepiks Redux did not deter Rafe, he was the new head of the Pykes, there was bound to be a bit of animosity from somewhere inside the Syndicate, with time that would fade, especially when each of them remembered they all had money in their pockets now. When the pykes started failing Rafe could have easily jumped ship, but he didn't, he stayed, and he turned the Pykes into a functioning success. Either way he let @Sepiks Redux have his moment and walk away. He'd handle that later..

Rafe pulled the bridge closed and secured the oxygen for himself and the men with him as they went to work pulling the oxygen from the ship by shutting down the life support and letting the life get sucked out of those inside. Shortly after they started the process a number of escape pods started launching in a chaotic manner, Fhtagn! Rafe shouted as he leapt up, Shoot them.. Rafe ordered to one of the Pykes behind him. A moment later the armament of the ship warmed up and started slashing the unarmed escape pods.

It appears we have the ship, they're trying to run off with the escape pods... Rafe said over the comms.

Sepiks took a chair and activated the assigned turrets to lock onto the escape pods. Once they were active, the Pyke opened fire, nailing three of the escape pods that flew passed. But, after he could no longer hit any more, Sepiks deactivated the guns and flexed his mechanical hands. He had done his part and the ship had been taken accordingly. There wasn't much else he thought of to do so he awaited any further orders from his superiors. Whatever they would be, they wouldn't anything Sepiks couldn't handle.

As Mae made her way to the bridge to meet the others, she complimented Rafe and even Sepiks On a job well done. "Perfect job on the life support and escape pods, Rafe" she said as she looked over the bridge controls and estimated what type of crew she would need to get this thing back to base.

She then proceeded to make some commands to her crew and put her first mate in charge of getting her ship back to base as she sat in the command chair of the cruiser and had her make shift crew start to make the preparations to get the thing back as well. Before they jumped into hyperspace, Mae made sure to disable the homing beacon in the ships bridge with a few well aimed blaster bolts.
