Open Yavin IV Campfire Song Song

[Dimetri Unduli]

Yavin IV, Jedi Planet, 2103 Hours

(OOC: Open to all padawans and maybe a couple knights if they're cool beans.)

Dimetri hadn't had much of any interaction with the other Jedi since he had joined the Order. After reassessing why he had joined he decided it would be good to build a bond with the others in the Order and get to know who he would defend with his life and who would do the same for him in return. So after giving a few ideas thought he figured he would do what he knew best and play music but it couldn't be somewhere he feels pressure. No instead he chose to set up a fun night of camping with the others and playing songs by the fire.

The set up would be right by the lake so if the others wanted to swim they could bring swim suits and hop in the water. Higher ranking Jedi were allowed though Dimetri wanted more Padawans to come. Being around Knights and Masters brings pressure but when it's just the Padawans it feels like he can let loose around his peers.

Once he had finished splitting the logs with the axe he brought from the tool shed back by the temple he set the split wood into a teepee stand and set rocks around the wood to lower chances of fire spreading. Then once he pulled out the matches he would throw some straw under the wood and set fire. It would take some time for the wood to start burning but it was now set in motion. Peers would be here soon so he threw his shirt back on and pull out his guitar as he sat on the large log he pulled over with the force by the fire and played a few chords to ease his mind.

His eyes would remain on the fire as he liked the sight of it, it was beautiful. The crackle of the embers burning was soothing in a way. Then hearing the small waves of the water by the lakes shore, it was going to be a beautiful night together.

[Atias Zaldreell]

Even with him being at the Temple of Yavin IV since he joined the Order, Atias never explored the forests that surrounded it. He had visited them, making brief visits that most of the time were part of one of the classes that they had. However, he never went deep in search of their secrets or stayed on them for much time.

Due to that, when he heard that another Padawan was going to make a campfire party in the forest, Atias decided to participate. It was a good opportunity for him to visit a place that he barely ever went to and he would also see other Padawans. Maybe he could even make some pranks.

This thought brought a smile to the half-Morellian’s lips. He was carrying a backpack full of items that could be useful for the night, some could be used for pranks while others could be used for other things. Atias only hoped that no Knight would start to ask questions about what he was doing.

When he arrived at the place where the party was going to happen, Atias saw the campfire and a male Mirialan sitting near it. The guy was playing a guitar and seemed to be distracted with it. “Hey, dude! Nice guitar.” the half-Morellian said, while waving and approaching the other boy. “I hope that I didn’t arrive too early.” he smiled and offered the other a hand to be shaken. “My name is Atias.”

[Dimetri Unduli]

As he sat by the fire and played a little bit of Free Fallin by Pom Tetty, a fellow padawan had arrived to join the campfire. They looked young, though that was how a lot of the padawans were. Accepting their presence, he nodded to them and then motioned to the log on the other side of the fire.

"Thanks, and nah not too early."

After shaking the boys hand real quick so he could return to playing the guitar, he would give his name back.

"Dimetri, nice to meet you. Have a seat eat a mallow. You got a song request? I know most of the good ones."

Dimetri smiled a little as he pulled out his custom guitar pick and looked to the boy with interest. Maybe he could use his music to make friends here.

[Atias Zaldreell]

Atias shook the Mirialan’s hand, while a smile appeared on his lips. “Nice to meet you, Dimetri! I would hate to be late for this party.” he ignored the fact that there were only the two of them here. For the half-Morellian, even two people could make a party and have it be very fun.

He sat in the log and put the bag that he brought on his lap. When the Mirialan offered some marshmallows to him, Atias promptly accepted. “I brought some salty snacks, too.” the half-Morellian tapped on the bag. “I also brought these.” he said, while putting his hand inside it and pulling a can of soda. “I was able to buy these with the ‘smugglers’ of the Temple.” he threw a can to the other boy.

“They didn’t have anything alcoholic this time. Since the Sith attacked Yavin, the security is stronger. Even they were having problems bringing things here.” he said, sounding a bit disappointed. If things continued this way, he would have few materials to use on his pranks, too.

“You can sing anything, I don’t have a prefere.” he said, while opening his own can of soda. “Maybe you know something from my homeworld, Commenor. Do you know any music from here?” there was so much time since he visited his home, he missed it. Maybe hearing a song from there could be good.

[Dimetri Unduli]

The kid brought snacks as expected. Also some sodas, that kind to offer Dimetri. The Mirialan would catch it and set it next to him as he listened to Atias continue talking of trying to smuggle some alcohol and other things. Interesting, he didn't look drinking age but he supposed it was just normal for all teens to act out.

"Commenor you say.."

Dimetri thought for a second and then a song sparked in his head Yellow by Chillplay

"Look at the stars, look how they shine for you"

As he sang he played simple chords. The song didn't require a lot from him, most of it was singing until the chorus comes. Light strums from his pick grazing across the strings on the guitar creating the wavelengths of beautiful sounds and notes. The song was coming to life, and Dimetri was at peace forgetting all that was around him for only a moment.

Once the song started coming to an end he would make his final few strums and finish with singing. As it was finished he would reach over and grab his soda, crack it open and take a sip. The carbonated feeling hitting his tongue and down his esophagus.

"Pretty good drink. So you have any family?"

He would begin retuning the guitar back to standard as he listened to the answer the boy would give.

When Dimetri started to sing, Atias closed his eyes to appreciate the music. He recognized this one, Yellow. The half-Morellian had heard it when he still lived on Commenor. It made him think about his parents and his home. He wondered what the two were doing right now. Perhaps his father was transporting products to another planet.

While the Mirialan continued singing, the half-Morellian’s mind started to travel until he wasn’t in Yavin IV anymore. Now he was back at his home in Commenor, sitting in the kitchen while watching his mother cooking and listening to music from the Holonet. Atias really missed her, maybe he could ask Crix to allow him to make a visit

After the song came to an end, Atias opened his eyes. He was back to the campfire on Yavin IV. “Dude, you have an amazing voice!” he said, a smile appearing on his lips. “I think that you could be a famous singer.” he sipped more of the soda. The Mirialan had a great talent that he could explore if he wanted.

“Yes, I have.” Atias said, answering Dimetri’s question. “Before joining the Order, I used to live with my parents on Commenor. My mother worked as a secretary in a company, while my father worked with transport of cargo for this same company. I talk with them every month.” maybe it was time for him to contact them. “And you? Do you have a family too?”
