Zian was looking for books to help her learn how to build her blade and how to heal. These were two essential skills she either needed or wanted to do, with Kai always busy she took it upon herself to look. She hoped to find something that would help her at least get started, though she knew she would probably have to figure out some stuff on her own. Cart'ar followed he was about the size of her arm, but still just as playful as a pup. Sometimes he was a handful, but he was helpful to her. Though Zian was getting there, times still remained where she failed to acknowledge her own limits. He helped remind her she needed to stop before she knocked herself unconscious. She searched the shelves for the books she was looking for. there were a few on healing and a lot on saber building. Each book on saber building seemed to express how dangerous the building process was, so she thought that she should start on healing first. If something went wrong she would attempt to heal herself so that damage might not be so bad, however there were possibilities of losing a body part or even life if one mistake was made. Zian would attempt to risk it, she needed to have a blade to defend herself.

According to what she found it seemed that healing wasn't really to hard, but one had to have a gift for doing it. She didn't know if she had the gift or not but there were ways to figure it out. Zian would start with a simple one, healing small wounds. She felt that this test would help her know if she was gifted. Thing was though she would have to make a small wound, perhaps not something she wished to do upon herself, but she wouldn't harm Cart'ar. She would look for something small and sharp to poke herself with. She didn't want to do damage or make the wound bleed out of control, these things would be bad. After all she still had to figure out if she could do this or not. If she couldn't she wanted to be able to get to a real Jedi healer or at least have the wound heal on its own.

She carefully poked her finger, it was just a nick. Zian closed her eyes, the book said the key was to focus on the wound or affliction. The thing was to get the cells to accelerate healing of the area or to convince the cells that the affliction within is bad. Feeling the force like Kai taught her, she focused on the wound. Feeling the cells was something new to feel, they were small and fragile. She had to be careful, even if it was a small wound. Zian focused the wound was pulsing as it still bleed, she attempted coax the cells to try to get them to heal faster. The force was strong, it seemed to move through the wound, but it wasn't healing it. Maybe she didn't have the gift of healing, if so she was a little sad. She always wanted to heal, because there had been so much suffering at home. She thought it was the best to help. She sighed, but then when she looked at the wound it wasn't there anymore. Zian didn't know what had happened to the wound.
Cart'ar just wagged his tail as she looked at the wound. She kind of sat there a little confused as to what happened. "Did you do this?" She asked the Akk dog. It was her first thought. She didn't know much about him, he licked her face in response. "Ok ok I get it." She said. It wasn't him, but then she had to do it. How though.

She reread the book looking to see if she missed something, but there was nothing more than was there before. So what was it she had done, she needed to figure out what it was that she had done. Zian felt she would have to cut herself again to figure it out. It was not a choice she wanted, but how else would she figure it out. She got up and walked out, this was a far harder task than she thought it would be. Walking would clean her head a little, Cart'ar followed. What was it she had done to heal her wound so quickly.
When she reached outside she walked down towards the docks, children were playing. One suddenly fell, hurt from a fall, there was a cut on the child's leg. It wasn't serious, but it could require a healer's touch.

One of the other children ran to go get a healer while Zian stayed with the child. "May I look at it?" She asked the child who was injured. The child agreed to let her look, she tried gently to touch it but she could tell he was in pain. It could be some time before a healer could get here depending on several factors. She wanted to try, but then again she did not want to harm the child either. "I can attempt to heal it, but I am not sure if it will help or make it worst. I do not wish to harm you, so I would like your permission to try." She said. This was probably the best course of action she could take. The child was a little hesitant but they had every right to be so. However they didn't want the pain anymore so they shook their head to allow her to attempt this. "This could hurt." She said. She wasn't going to sugar coat the possibility that it could hurt more. Zian closed her eyes and started to focus, she remembered everything she had done before on herself. It was about coaxing the cells to get them to heal faster with the force. Moving the cells with the force like she had before, she moved slow. This was someone else's body not hers, so she had to recognize what was what first. She also had to be aware of the differences inside the body as well as the location of the wound. Being slow was key until she learned more, she didn't want to damage the wound more or worst make something else broke.
She could feel the force moving, telling her what cell was what and it's key importance. Once she figured it out she slowly started to move what needed to be moved to help heal the wound. Slowly she moved the cells to the wound and could feel the force flow out of the wound like a seal. When she felt done with the wound she opened her eyes. The wound was gone, there was no pain in the child. They smiled at her as the other child returned with a healer.

The healer bent down to look at the child's wound. "It's gone, did you do this?" They asked. Zian shook her head, she wouldn't lie about what she had done. It was a risk to heal someone else without knowing if you where a healer or not. "You should have asked first." The healer said. "I did." Zian said. "She asked healer, she truly did." The child said before running off to go back to play with the others. The healer eyed Zian. "Come." They said. She followed, she felt like she was in trouble and she could still be. It was a risk she had taken, even if the child's life wasn't on the line. "Do you know what you've done?" The healer asked. Zian looked at them. "I've risked making the wound worst without truly knowing if I could heal or not." Zian said. "True, but with that risk you've discovered more about your own gifts. What other healing have you attempted before this?" The healer asked. "A small wound on myself, I thought I should learn to heal before I attempted to build my blade." Zian said. "I see, that is a dangerous task, even with healing there are somethings that you may not be able to heal should something go wrong." The healer said. "I know, still I wanted to know if I could heal before I tried." She said.

"Come with me." The healer said. Zian followed the healer, she would take whatever punishment awaited her. They walked back to the temple. "Healing is not an easy task in war, few can do it, fewer are gifted with the ability to do so. Taking risks to heal is always there, taking those risks is another matter. You took a risk, knowing you could possibly harm not just yourself, but the child as well. You did it with permission which is good, consideration made means you are a conscious person and a kind hearted one at that. You should continue your studies, I believe when your skills are honed you will be a great healer." The healer said. Zian appreciated the healers words, she knew she had work to do.

Zian was a little more confidant than before hearing words of encouragement from someone else that wasn't Kai. It was different, refreshing, she knew she had a long way to go but at least she knew she could heal at least on a small level. She headed back to the training room where she left the books she had found, she wondered if there was anything she had left out in healing at her level, something else she needed to discover before attempting to make her blade. Once she got to where she left the books she picked them up once more and began to read them again. Zian was key about double checking, it was a Chiss trait when analyzing battle field plans to make sure they didn't over look anything.
When she had finished she knew there was nothing left but practice and time, now there was only the task of creating her blade. She wanted to be careful with this, she would read this book carefully at least a few times to make sure that she understood the task before her. After all this was a dangerous task to do even if you could heal. Losing a limb was not something Zian wanted to do.

She put the book down, then layed out the components required. The important piece was a crystal gathered that would bring life and the color of the blade out. Zian had traveled to her home world to get her crystal, it was white which was rare. It was said that only the purest could wield such a crystal. She wasn't concerned about wielding it right now, just its construction. Carefully she grabbed part of the casing that would hold the pieces of wire, crystal, and lots of intricate parts that helped the blade function. One small detail misplaced could mean the loss of a body part or worst it could blow her up. She went slow, doing only one piece at a time, making sure it was secure in place and wired correctly.

Zian would stop to look at the book to make sure every place and wire was right. She wanted to make sure that this was at least to book standards, if something wasn't here then she was in trouble. Hoping the book was right she continued on this path of slow and patient. It would take hours of concentration, hours of looking at her work, and hours of looking at the book before she was completely done. When the blade was done it sat there, she just looked at it. She was uncertain if she should pick it up and turn it on. However if she didn't she would never know if she had succeeded in doing what she had set out to do.

Carefully she picked up the blade, closing her eyes she turned it on, and prepared for the worst. Zian had gathered what she could of the force in ready to heal whatever might be missing. She had felt no pain though only a small hum. The hum was similar to the one Kai had given her. Opening her eyes she decided to look, a white blade was extended out much like the book had described and she had seen. 'Well that's good no explosions yet.' She thought. Very slowly she began to move the blade around to see if there was anything that could go wrong from just moving it around. So far nothing, these were good signs, but there was still tests that needed to be done to see if it was truly a blade.

Zian moved to grab some fruit she had gathered. Carefully she'd place one in the center of the floor, slowly she moved the blade to slice the fruit. The blade didn't seem to faulted when she did this. This was good, but she knew fruit wouldn't be its use. She would have to find some spare metal, that would be the real test.
