Bounty Board

Alright so I'm mulling over the possibility of a bounty board for the Rangers that would pay Rangers as well as members of any other factions. The bounties would focus on killing and capturing bad people and like the Hutts it could have a leaderboard.

I just wanted to see if this was interesting to anyone because ultimately it will take a good amount of work to do and I wanted to make sure it would be used once I did it.

This wouldn't be right away, but rather once the Rangers begin making a good amount of money with the Upcoming PRICE divisions and other assets I'm planning to grab

Anyway just a conversation starter, have at it

Seems like a cool idea. It'd be nice for other factions to have bounties other than the Hutts. Used to be an independently handled thing anyway...

Are his affiliations with them common knowledge? It would seem rather counterproductive if they were and if he intended on hunting other criminals affiliated with the Hutts.

On a related note, I'm considering adding Xora to this list of PC bounties.

I don't think faction should matter.it's part of the issues with the hutts is you have to be faction to do bounties, in fact it's really to only reason Axe has applied for prospect is so he can hunt because the hutts do now allow freelance or indie to run them.

That, I understand, but there's no reason stopping anyone from starting an open bounty board that's non-faction specific. My only concern would be if TWD26's character's affiliations were known or not. As the Waste Rangers as a faction of peacekeepers and sheriffs. It seems rather counterproductive for them to allow someone with known criminal ties to hunt their bounties. That'd be like a criminal walking into a police station and asking for a job.

You're welcome to create your own bounties for your own character and not be constricted to a faction itself. So long as the pay-out is believable, and you do the work, no one can't tell you that you can't make your independent bounty hunter do some random bounty out in the Galaxy full of criminals. But things like that are good ways to pull in members to said factions. Like you said, that's the only reason you joined, but hey, a new member! See how it works? Bounties would be a good way to bring more members for the Waste Rangers, especially if it's taking down baddies.

As for the question of can Cartel members taking on Waste Ranger bounties, depending on the bounty itself, we would probably frown upon it. Meaning, if you did, you wouldn't be able to take down other Cartel members, or fear the wrath of whatever might happen next. But considering the Waste Rangers and the Cartel are on opposite sides of each other, I doubt Hiro or any of the other saloon-defenders would allow a known Cartel member take bounties, considering their pay out would go back to the Cartel in some shape-form-or-fashion. Ultimately however, it's up to Duke if he'd let you take his bounties, however. You're more than welcome to create your own bounty thread as well, of some random planet or what have you, you just won't have to post in the sign-up, etc. But it also couldn't go towards your promotion if it's non-official faction bounty.

My character isn't a criminal, yet at least, He's only completed bounty contracts so his record is clean. I'd mostly just be taking small time contracts though that wouldn't undermine the Hutt's if that's possible.

Ultimately I'd handle that bounty business on a case by case basis.

As for this idea I will be going forward with it but don't expect anything too soon as that trip is nearly upon me

Sounds like a good idea to me. Could draw in more future Rangers, or honorary ones. Either way, money is a strong motivator.
