DESCRIPTION
The BM-792 hunting rifle, designated the Zok-10 in marketing to stand out, is a relatively new addition by Blackwell Munitions to the high power longblaster market. Although it is legally considered a longblaster for hunting large game, this makes up only a small percentage of actual use. The Zok-10 was intended to be used for precision fire at long range by a stationary shooter, which has led to relatively common use for a more specialized form of "hunting". The new and innovative technologies introduced by drew attention at its release, both positive and negative, which resulted in a boom of purchases and reviews across the holonet.

The Zok-10 features a long range, high-power, low-light capable, adjustable zoom macroscope onleans to the left side, settled above the side-mounted power pack that has become a common feature in Blackwell Munitions models. The ammunition is unusual in that instead of a single power pack, it uses six individual power cells containing both a tibanna gas mixture and enough power for a single shot each, a design loophole to avoid greater required licensing. Each loaded power cell has a blue light on the back that indicates whether or not it is ready for use, and can be refilled or recharged by the user many times before replacement. A tiny button on each cell can be pressed to determine if a cell is loaded Speed loaders capable of loading three or a full block of six power cells are also available from Blackwell Munitions.

Loading the weapon requires one to open the top cover of the loading block, insert new power cells, reseal, and pull the charging lever to finalize the connection and verify pack integrity. Any malfunctioning packs in the stack will blink red twice to indicate failure or once to indicate power but insufficient tibanna, while fully spent cells remain blank. When the weapon fires, the spent power cell is ejected from the bottom of the loading block and deflected downwards by the charging lever's wide handle, allowing for easy retrieval in the field. Together with a speed loader, this allows the rifle to be quickly reloaded on the fly.

While the weapon's main casing is composed of durasteel, the barrel is Dallorian alloy, with ridged cooling fins along its length. While this does allow it to withstand sustained fire and prevents system overheat, it is recommended to use a leather strap, grip, or to wear heat-resistant gloves to prevent burns when moving the weapon by the barrel after use. Another unusual feature in a rifle is the inbuilt magnetic accelerator, resulting in increased bolt speed and force along with firing cycle time. Although this does mean it can only fire half as quickly as its competitors, the shot speed and precision gained is generally considered worth it to ensure a downed target, cycle speed being less important in a "hunting" rifle than a battle rifle.

Because the loading block and scope are both left of center, the reinforced stock is slightly to bent and balanced to center the weapon and its recoil when planted against the user's shoulder. The bipod mounted beneath the barrel is optimized to allow comfortable and precise firing from a prone position, though it can just as easily be wielded settled against another object. Though it can technically be fired standing, like most other longblasters it won't be as accurate and organic wielders will need protection from barrel heat.

The Zok-10 safety mechanism is triple-secure, all linked to a lever to the left and just above the trigger. When locked in the downwards position it blocks a finger from entirely entering the trigger well, locks the trigger itself from depressing, and prevents the charging lever from being pulled. On the opposite side is the blast setting button, which switches it between lethal and stun. Though a heavy, long-range "hunting" rifle having a stun rifle is certainly not the norm, it was advertised as a feature for when "hunting" requires live capture.

While the Zok-10 isn't terribly common it is a relatively recognizable weapon, especially in the outer rim in the hands of bounty hunters, mercenaries, and professional "hunters" of other sorts. Even some Sector Rangers working in rough areas have been known to use it, appreciating the range and stun setting for non-lethal takedown.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Though the design configuration avoided military-only designation, the Zok-10 is still a high-power sharpshooter's weapon and requires extra licensing to legally own and use.

INTENT
To introduce another option in the Sniper weapons category designed by Blackwell Munitions to the fanon.

RESTRICTIONS
The barrel configuration is required for the weapon to fire at all and cannot be modified or have other attachments added to it. The weapon cannot accept modifications that alter firing action in a way similar to a magnetic accelerator, including an additional magnetic accelerator.
