DESCRIPTION
Produced by the small but venerable Eirriss Ryloth Defense Tech who produced the popular Glie-44 Blaster Pistol the small BLURRG-1120 was initially designed for use with the local Free Ryloth Movement. Designed as a small, short ranged, but still powerful hold out pistol, the weapon saw use with numerous agents, assassins and saboteurs during the Seperatist and later Imperial occupations of Ryloth. Only accurate at a short range, the thing mostly relies on surprise and a quick draw to be effective. Its small frame allowed it to be concealed within even a jacket pocket. As such the weapon soon found a place in both the Rebellion, wielded most famously by Captain Hera Syndulla, and the underworld. The largely plastoid design even allowed it to be smuggled through many rudimentary security checkpoints. As such it has to this day found use as both a gentleman’s personal defense pistol and as a symbol of the underworld gangster, with the term “Blurrg” even at times being a stand in for any sort of inexpensive pistol in certain gangs. The weapon is still in production after all of these years and is one of Eirriss Ryloth’s defining products, to the point where to keep up with demand, blaster giant BlasTech even produced some under license as the “ER-1120.”LEGALITY
The weapon is as legal as most other blaster pistols. However, being designed for concealed carry, getting caught doing so without a permit where required will likely get the owner into hot water with the authorities. Eirriss Ryloth is not responsible for those who end up in this situation.INTENT
To create an easily concealable hold out blaster to be used in settings where openly carrying would be discouraged or illegal. It likewise is partly based, in my interpretation on the “Plastic Terror” fears of the irl Glock-17’s alleged ability to pass through security scanners. Also seeing as the Glie-44 has been written up, it only made sense for me that the Blurrg, the only other known weapon produced by Eirriss Ryloth would be available as well. Finally, it is the signature weapon of Hera Syndulla, a major character from the series Rebels, and a rumored sequel series to come later this year makes it likely that others would show interest in the weapon.
