"...yes...my Master".

Liina took a few moments to regain her breath, the pain still coursing throughout her body. Pain would equal strength in the long term. Through strength came power, through power came victory. Every painful and core-shattering experience that the Sith acolyte would endure would only serve to make her stronger. She learnt the lesson well.

"Let your plans be dark and as impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt". Her mantra was but a whisper in the underground lair in which her and her powerful Master stood. She regained her footing and collected her now dormant lightsaber, having heard every word that her mentor had uttered to her.

"Then there are ways by which such power can be overcome, Master? There is a power that I read of...Force Deflection, that serves as a means to not only repel such assaults...but has a means to also absorb it. Does such a power exist Master? And if so...would you teach it?"

"The technical term is Tutaminis, yes..." He said nodding. "And when truly mastered you can absorb more than lightening..." He said taking the glove off his hand, he focused the force into it calling upon the power, before igniting his lightsaber blade into his hand. There was a sizzling noise, and a crackling of power as the blade was pushed further down, shortening it in length to about half of it's normal size. He held it there, focusing for a few moments more before releasing it, and showing his hand to her, completely free of any damage.

"Blaster bolts as well, in certain cases...to master such a talent however takes decades of practice...I will however teach you the basics later, once you've recovered a bit more and your mind is more focused." He made a promise, a promise which would be kept...

"...Tutaminis..."

Liina let the word roll off her tongue, and it was produced through her claw-like vocaliser mask. She liked the word, very much. And with training and diligence, she would learn everything there was to know about such powerful arts, in time.

"Your wings, Master...they serve you well. None of the other Lords have your advantage. You are unique, my Lord." Liina let the ferocity of their sparring match ebb as she conversed with Atroxus. Their talks would come in much use, for her Dark mentor was wise and powerful and could educate her on everything she would need to know to ascend to victory amongst the Sith Order. "What metal is it that armors your grand pinions Master? My blade was deflected immediately...as if it were but water."

"It's a cortosis weave, while it keeps me from flying, you've seen the benefits far outway the downside of being stuck on the ground...Though it's not indefinite protection, you would have to hit the armor in the exact same spot several times before any true damage was done. Much harder to do in practice..." He said with a slight chuckle, before continuing. "Pure Cortosis however wouldn't allow me the range of motion my wings give me, it would defeat their purpose...however pure cortosis does short a lightsaber for several minutes at a time. Finally there is Phrik, however it is very brittle, harder to work with and more expensive in the long run."

He finished his explanation, wondering if she knew before that he could actually leave the ground, many in the order simply assumed the wings were left over from evolution, useless completely without the armor he fashioned. For the briefest of moments he remembered the last time he actually flew, it seemed years ago...maybe it was. Quickly he banished such thoughts, knowing them to be pointless.

Liina nodded knowingly to her Master, showing that she understood his explanations and the power therein. She had thought for some time, over their months of training sessions that his wings were such superfluous and ornamental things. Extensions of some alien lineage that served only to intimidate, but performed with very limited function. How incorrect she had been. They were extensions yes, but powerful and commodious extensions that could be used for greater defensive strategies and for collateral assault. The other Sith Lords did not have such additional appendages at their disposal. Her Master was awe-inspiring. And he had chosen her as his apprentice.

"I know you will teach me to become powerful, Master. You will teach me to possess everything I need to rise and become a Sith." She bowed to him in a wholly prostrate and devotional manner.

"Is our training session complete for today, my Lord?"

"Yes...training is over for today. And what's more I'm not locking you down here. We have a task...through various means I have located a smuggler who specialized for a time in rare sith artifacts...I have an interest in one of the things he may have sold. To that end, we're going to Nar Shadaa." he said with a slight smile of excitement. He had searched for years for something of this quality, if his sources were true...well it would be an amazing find, something to make him stand out even amongst the other sith lords. His excitement was bristling through the force, barely contained on his face.
