Description:

The Bes'uliik war droid is a semi-sentient fourth degree battle droid. Built solely for combat it has a wide array of armaments and is fairly well armoured. Resembling a cross between a Zalorian rock lion and a Karan beetle the Bes'uliik stands at 4 meters tall and has 6 legs (2 powerful clawed front legs as well as 4 smaller hind legs.)

Considered semi-sentient due to a powerful droid brain a Bes'uliik displays an animal like self awareness and while the droid can operate independently they are most effective when utilised as mounts. Bes'uliik develop close empathetic bonds between themselves and their riders. If this bond is strong enough that they react almost preternaturally to the commands of their rider and it is not uncommon for a Bes'uliik to howl in pain when their rider is killed.

Bes'uliik operate effectively on the ground, the air or in the vacuum of space and utilise advanced sensor clusters to detect threats from multiple directions. On the ground the Bes'uliik is typically slow and lumbering while in the air armoured wing plates rise to expose as set of high boost engines allowing the droid to travel at speeds of around 550 km/h.

The Bes'uliik droid is slightly hindered by its heavy armour, making it hard to turn or perform impressive evasive manoeuvres and without the stabiliser fin at the tip of the droids tale section it became almost impossible to pilot in the air.

The Bes'uliik acts as more of a gunship than a droid and can be deployed in the vacuum of space aiding fleet engagements alongside other craft, even using their powerful front claws to latch onto enemy ships.

They can also be used to perform dives directly from orbit to the planets surface, using the rapid rate of descent to confuse the targeting computers of opposing ground cannons.

On the ground they perform an almost tank like role capable of short bursts of significant speed as well as using their front claws to demolish obstacles, artillery and enemy forces.

Intent:​

My intent with the creation of this droid is to provide an interesting and effective alternative to starfighters and ground vehicles. While the Bes’uliik is by no means a frontrunner in any of the three fields, the versatility it provides is more than worth the short fall. The droid will also serve as a good way for the small numbers of mandalorians to plummet safely into a planet rather than all boarding a single craft and getting shot down.

I also hope that in a similar way to how some people opt for playing Jedi or Sith characters in order to use a lightsaber that this droid might have a similar effect to the Mandalorian community on the site. Even if it only attracts one or two people to the small group of Mandalorians it will be more people with whom we can roleplay with.

What I have made is basic and there are a few modifications people could make in order to suit their own personal preference.

Clayton, I know i messaged you about this. I'd appreciate your help with the weaponry. I'm happy to tone it down, however the general consensus is that it was no better than some Snub fighters in it's current form so i have left it as it is for now!
