Roman was a relentless fighter, often headstrong and unaware of the consequences of utilizing pure brute power instead of mixing it with some brains. Calculative measures was something the powerful Sith champion often disregarded and too often it had led to him barely escaping disastrous situations. This would seem to be one of them. His mind settling into the zone of killing bugs, he watched as plasma weapon seared through flesh and chitin armor, causing a splash of acidic blood to wash against his armored body but he persisted nonetheless.

His saber was carefully maneuvered like a well planned paintbrush, each stroke nothing but a fatal hit as the Sith attempted to carve his way through enemies. A voice in the back shouted out to him, "Champion Antilles! The Repeater is online!" The lead engineer screamed, his team had finished setting up the heavy artillery cannon and Roman hoped it would add the much needed emphasis in turning this battle. Attention splitting to his side, Roman lept forwards and towards the cannon. His saber extinguished as both armored hands wrapped around the handle of the massive turret, right thumb pressed down indefinitely onto the trigger button.

The artillery barrel began to rotate, first slowly but then rapidly picked up pace as heavy blaster bolts began to sear outwards, attempting to mow down any enemies caught in its warpath. Feeling the natural radiating resistance of the weapon, Roman had to use his physical strength to bear down and control the recoil, slowly sweeping the cannon back and forth horizontal so that he could cover the masses of killiks nearing his position. He focused however, on targeting the Queen herself, attempting to overwhelm the powerful creature with the relentless and endless supply of heavy blaster fire.

Roman however, was completely unaware of the assassins approaching him from behind. If the Jedi were to choose a different path than save him, the Sith was likely going to be a casualty. @Forsythe Crowholde @SlagathorTheUnknown

@Logan

Roman continues to attack the Killiks with his lightsaber until the Heavy Repeater is online. He then mounts the artillery weapon and begins firing it, focusing the blaster fire on killiks as well as the Queen. He is completely unaware and vulnerable to the assassin Killiks approaching him if the Jedi choose not to intervene.

Veer exhaled a single breath through his nostrils, vibrating through the voice-scrambler in his mask. The Axxilan watched as the bolt of yellow plasma sailed through the air and found it marks - striking exactly where he intended on the insectoid’s head. Of course, he didn’t miss the unintended consequences of his actions - mahogany eyes snapping over to Clove as the Jedi tore away at the back paneling of her armor.

While unfortunate, it was certainly better than the half-Annfyn getting torn to shreds by the creature.

The Axxilan kept his visor pressed down near the scope of his rifle - the barrel flicking ever-so-slightly to settle upon the single remaining insectoid that pursued the half-Annfyn. His finger hovered across the trigger, and he waited until Clove unleashed the Force to fire once more - tracking just ahead of her trajectory and in the pathway of the Kilik. If successful, the sniper shot would piece through the assassin-Kilik’s abdomen just as it sailed backwards - aiming to euthanize the creature while keeping the splatter of acidic blood away from his allies.

Regardless of the effectiveness of his shot, Veer tilted his head briefly towards Clove - a bit of acknowledgement to the Jedi - before his attention flicked elsewhere. He caught a glimpse of the dragon as it was brought down, and he clearly picked up on the sound of Zakrym’s voice. The Axxilan’s gaze settled upon the sight of Emryc being hoisted by the Hive Queen - and he promptly focused his attention in the group rushing to rescue the Galactic Leader.

His gaze briefly snapped towards Arctus and Ruz - catching a glimpse of the pair unassailed for the moment. “The Cadir!” He shouted, his distorted and mechanized voice blaring across the battlefield and shared comm channel. The Axxilan hadn’t forgotten who they were here to protect - and the death of a Sith wasn’t much of a loss if it meant securing their objective.

Beginning to take slow steps forward, Veer leveled his rifle on the swarm that separated the group from the President - firing three bolts of yellow plasma in slow succession - attempting to gradually piece away at the swarm and clear a path for Draugr and Zak.

All the while, he didn’t neglect to lift his gaze from the scope and observe his surroundings. He had been completely unassailed thus far, and he knew it was only a matter of time before the Swarm turned to address him. With two blaster pistols strapped to his belt, the Axxilan was prepared to abandon his rifle for the fast-draw weapons the moment it was necessary.

Veer fired another shot at the Kilik chasing Clove in hopes of killing it. He barks some commands at Ruz and Arc, and then starts to join the Emryc-Rescue-Crew and fires three shots at the Kilik’s in their path.

The thought had crossed Altronis's mind briefly, but he hadn't wanted to believe it could be true. Yet, he'd been concerned enough about betrayal to arm himself. He doubled checked the pistol was charged and ready. It was also why he hadn't sent the other man any information about his own ship positions.

When he was a junior officer in the Navy, years ago he'd been told by one of his NCOs that a Captain was a feared and powerful thing. They always knew the answer, they always knew what to do, and that the men and women under him had to have complete confidence in his plans and his orders. It was for this reason alone that the Admiral's face didn't even twitch. Not because he felt in control - as was evidenced by the quick but quiet intake of breath - but because he needed to appear to be in control. And because the only hope they had was if he did not panic and found them the path out.

He fell back on a career's worth of training and study as his eyes swept over the scanners. He couldn't focus on how much the betrayal hurt or the realization that he may very well lose this battle. He couldn't think about the fact that he was about to lose thousands of men and women or the fact that he was going to kill thousands of ISC soldiers. He couldn't think about the fact that he had served with some of the officers in the Core Fleet. Commander Orthos, Captain Westholm, and dozens more. No, he could only think about the other ships as objects. Obstacles that needed to be overcome and reduced to debris. This was the way his men and women survived.

That was when he saw his opening. Nielson had made a mistake, and Altronis wasted not a second capitalizing on it. His voice was calm but quick as he delivered his orders and the ships began moving at once. It seemed his decision not to send ship positions to Nielson may well save him the battle.

Heavy Alpha, move to engage CDF Light fleet, weapons free, he said. Nielson had brought his light fleet out of hyperspace too close to the Third Fleet's heavy force and had continued to barrel down. The two forces were already almost on top of each other, and that was excellent news for Altronis. Heavy Force was designed for ship to ship combat while the Light Force was much better as pickets and anti-fighter forces. In other words, the Heavy Alpha should be able to obliterate the CDF Light Force in a fight.

Cannons opened fire and slammed against ship shields and hulls, a mess of multicolored lasers filled the sky in a beautiful but utterly deadly Christmas tree.

East reserve fighters, defend Heavy Alpha, he instructed. Bring the Command Fleet in to fill the gap of Heavy Alpha, he said.

He once again pressed the comm station and opened a line to the Hapans. Queen Mother, if you engage the CDF Heavy force we'll punch through their light fleet and hit them in the flanks, he said. It was only logical given the CDF Heavy force was already bearing down on the East side Hapan group. He could only hope it was enough.

Divide and conquer, he thought. The true Killik force was still far enough away that hopefully it wouldn't be able to save the CDF slave force. Hopefully.

Get me SecDef on the line. He needs to know all of what's happened. If there are any other ships in the area call them in. I don't care if it's ISC, Imperial, FWA, or kriffing pirate, if they're willing to put guns on target for us, I want them here, he said. He didn't know if there would be time, but he hoped that Carrick might be able to make it happen.

  • Heavy alpha fleet takes advantage of positioning to attack CDF light fleet where they should have a significant advantage
  • Fighters on the east side move to protect Heavy Alpha
  • Command Fleet moves over slightly to help fill in the space behind Heavy Alpha
  • Calls Charlotte
  • Map updated
  • Calls Carrick and any other fleets/ships nearby

After helping Arctus to deal with the kiliks surrounding him, Ruzaan once again took stock of the battlefield. Clove was still on her feet, and a massive explosion took down the Nope that was his biggest deterrent from trying to make contact with the Cadir, who was presumably trapped inside the building that had sustained heavy damage.

Tuned in to the Force as he was, the emergence of not one but two incredibly powerful presences nearby, sent a shiver down his spine. A shocked glance back at the battle brewing between an apparent kilik leadership figure and the President of the ISC?!?! firmed in his mind the desire to be elsewhere at the moment- even if that meant charging forward to join the Sith's aggressive push towards the Cadir's building. A quick jerk of the head would nonverbally communicate to Arctus (@Forsythe Crowholde) his intent to continue the attack, and the Togruta gathered the Force within him as he ran to once again intercept the assassin killiks threatening Roman (@Faded).

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Much like he had just moments ago when coming to Actus' aid, Ruzaan did his best to reinforce Roman by taking the fight to the assassin killiks. Taking advantage of the nearest assassin killik's focus on the Sith, he'd swing his lightsaber evenly towards the base of its neck in an attempt to decapitate this one, too. He'd then attempt to hurl said assassin kilik into its nearby companions with the Force, trying to smash the flanking maneuver in its tracks much like he had with the ones attacking Arctus. "We need to keep moving! Remember why we're here!" he called out those nearby, disagreeing with his fellow Togruta (@Apollyon). From what he could tell, the ISC President had an army at his back who could rush to the celebrity's aid- the Cadir did not.

((Edit: Ruz has no clue who used the Force))

@Logan @Sreeya
Ruz notices the two powerful Force pulses not far away. RUZ HAS NO IDEA WHO THIS IS SPECIFICALLY
Ruz moves forward to help the Sith and Romeo
He jumps onto one kilik's back, tries to cut its head off, and does his best to go bowling with whatever remains

Claudias sillently thanked Deus for allowing his shots to hit their mark. One of the Sith (@Phoenix) took the opportunity to try and finish off the beast, and it began to dawn on the man that he might not be as completely useless as he had feared he might be. He looked around, the closest of his "allies" still being the ancient looking war robot. He'd seemed to have overcome the initial swarm of bugs. More were coming for him, but it seemed capable enough on it's own.

It was when the armored warrior (@Altaris) shouted from across the field of battle about the cadir that Claud turned and saw the state that the president was in. Blue eyes widened as he saw the flayed queen and a horde of insects that seemed to be descending on him. They seemed to recognize his importance as much as the rest of the defenders did, and the Brentaalan didn't want to imagine what would happen if the President was killed, or, Eire forbid, joined.

Hobbling forward on his cane, the Brentaalan was ready to begin firing on the queen when he noticed what an absolute state the building they'd come to defend was in. Looking around, he could see one of the Jedi (@Apollyon) seemingly headed his way, while another (@SlagathorTheUnknown) and a few others seemed intent on the building. It was an impossible decision to make-- if either the building or the President fell, the consequences could be catastrophic.

But, he decided.

Hobbling as quickly as he could manage, the Brentaalan would begin making his way towards the building. His blaster was levied and ready to fire upon the first of the insects that came upon him, and he could only hope that it would be enough to save his own life-- for long enough to do some good. Long enough so that he might do something to help the galaxy.

Long enough so that he might save his nephew's children.

Smoe Jith was just your everyday guy and someone would probably be able to guess as much just by looking at him. The middle aged Corellian had come to Thyferra for the job in his late thirties and was now approaching his forties. His work had been the main draw for him to move to the planet but he tended to exist beneath most people's radar. Only on occasion there was cause for him to be noticed by others. First, his Vratix girl friend had accidentally swiped right on MandibleMeetUp which Smoe had accidentally signed up for thinking it was food app. The two of them went on a few dates and ended up leading to a few years of a content relationship until Zyrxena felt like she was not getting the attention she deserved.

Having already moved to Thyferra, he saw little point in moving. Even when Zyrxena dumped him, Smoe kept working and even earned a promotion when the lead finance officer position was vacated. The middle aged Corellian had not really cared much about why the position was open but accepted the bump in pay and figured most of his work could be delegated to his subordinates so he could keep watching dramas meant for adolescent children from his datapad.

Today however, he needed to go to a meeting. The day had seemed to start like any other. Smoe had ignored most alerts and messages sent to him since he forgot to charge his comlink the day before. Taking his personal airspeeder to work, the mediocre employee had kept his headphones in and watched scene after scene of Extra-natural. The story of two sisters traveling the galaxy where unexplainable things happened with only occult answers and remedies that could be solved by blessed-tibanna bolts from a scatterblaster had Smoe's full attention until it came time for his fourth quarter budget meeting.

He pulled his headphones out as he finally sat down in his meeting room. The faint sounds of blaster bolts and explosions from his holo-drama continued but Smoe instead realized he had forgotten the report he meant to present back at his apartment. His main concern right then was how he was going to wing the presentation with the analytical Vratix boss and other big wigs that would be on the other end of the holo-call. Thankfully someone else started presenting and Smoe Jith slowly began to wonder about how Samantha and Deana Westar were going to save their dead mother from a terrible afterlife.

A few other Vratix sat in the conference room with him, making Smoe the only mammilian member of the main finance team. "This is not just something we can ignore." One of them said. "These projections are very idealistic. No doubt the Q4 profits are going to take a nose dive." Smoe was not really paying attention, his eyes glanced towards his datapad longingly, wishing he could just finish his next episode. The people on the other end of the holo-call, not present in the conference room did not sound happy and any input from him would probably just get brushed off anyways.

"Smoe..." Kark, the galaxy had decided to call attention to him. "...can we have your opinion on this? We've seen reports of Killiks in your area. Things can't be as bad as they are if you're still coming into the office." The baggy eyes of the sleep deprived Corellian looked up at the off-planet representative who had called attention to him. Now everyone was looking at him to respond. Kill licks? What were they talking about? "Hmm?" His brow furrowed and he looked to the side, his peripherals caught sight of something outside and his desire to maybe provide an excuse or distraction for not having the report over-road any immediate response to verbalize his thoughts.

buum
boom
thudthudthudthudthud
CRASH

The plate glass window that lined the conference room shattered as the full armored body of a Mandalorian was thrown backwards into the table with enough force to break the furnishing in half. Smoe and the few Vratix still coming to the meeting in person rose from their seats in surprise. The holographic representations of other sit-ins on the meeting could only look on as the smoking body of the warrior had cracked the table in two.

Smoke rose from almost every surface of the body that belonged to Hauron Solus. Moments ago he had flown between the dragon and the building in an effort to carve the beast up like a goober fish for a fry night. The two dozen missiles fired from spitfire artillary droids had perhaps dealt more obvious and certainly more significant damage on the opposite side of the joined-killik. The resulting explosion had nearly destroyed the dragon entirely and the violent shockwaves were what had thrown the Mandalorian through the hole in the side of the building, another wall, a few cubicles, and the conference room window until he had been finally stopped by the hefty conference room table.

If someone looked back from whence Hauron had come they would see a man sized hole going all the way to the outside of the building, just past where the the freighter had made its own opening. Smoe had no idea why he had not noticed it before but this made since, considering Zyrxena had always said he was aloof. There was no way he could ignore this now. "Uh is he dead?" He asked nobody in particular. Strange, the other Vratix physically present continued to stare and look both at Smoe and the newly arrived Mandalorian with an almost sinister body language. Then again, that was how his bug gf had looked at him in their last few days together. Smoe no longer had to worry about being the center of other people's attention.

Hauron managed a groan as if to answer the man. Everything in, on and around the Mandalorian's body hurt. Hauron was pretty sure he had suffered a mild concussion but that was nothing new. Blinking the sweat from his eyes, he could see from his HUD that his holo-recorder had still managed to be saved, meaning he had caught all of that on record, not that it was his proudest moment.

The plating on the Mandalorians chest had been blasted by the bones of the dragon that had turned to shrapnel. The same could be said for his upper arms and only his vambraces and his helmet seemed to be undamaged. The jetpack, which he now laid on top of, sparked and told him it was out of commission having taken some damage. In Hauron's hands was only the two small cylinders that used to be the electro-ripper's shaft and were completely useless. "I think...I'm still alive" Even talking hurt and the Mikkian coughed. He definitely had a few broken ribs on his left side. Though I wish I wasn't

Hauron tried to get his legs under him and stand up between the two cracked pieces of the conference room table. A light ceiling tile was loose and fell ontop of the crown of his head. Thankfully it was not heavy but it served to add some insult to injury as the warrior tried to recover from his inelegant entrance. Reaching down to his holsters, he drew both of his pistols before staggering to his feet. "What floor am I on?" Hopefully nobody immediately around him was a joiner. He still needed to get to the Cadir. But first he needed to make sure he would not be abruptly assaulted. Briefly, he wondered what had happened to that bird that had been accompanying @Thayd Karkoza but brushed the thought aside since there was more pressing matters.

Hauron is saved by the dragon taking the brunt of the initially volley of missiles but he is thrown into the building and into a room with a few Vratix and one human interrupting their holo-conference. He is heavily injured and his armor is compromised. He gets up and draws his weapons, trying to get his bearings.

Injuries:
mild concussion. A few broken ribs on his left side. Numerous cuts and bruises.

damaged equipment:
jetpack, electroripper, all armor except his forearms and his helmet.

So many things were happening all at once, but that was just the nature of a battlefield. Arctus sent Ruzaan a grateful grin after the latter came to his aid. Through the ebb and flow of colors, of Force signatures registering in his vision, the Clove's lilac remained bright and strong. The Padawan knew that he didn't have to worry about her the way he did when she was still a Padawan herself. The half-Anfynn had proven herself to be strong and resilient – both her and Ruzaan, really. So instead of heading to where she was Arctus shifted his focus on the major task at hand.

Dispatching the three assassin-killiks with Ruzaan's help gave Arctus a bit of a breather which he used to quickly assess the battle. The dragkillik was taken down by the combined efforts of Jedi and Sith. The Mandalorian he'd noticed before the fighting began was nowhere to be seen, which the Padawan found a bit worrying. If he's as tough as Reiel, he'll live.

"That's what I said earlier!"
he sassed back at the armored mercenary(?) (@Altaris), not really intending to sound exasperated. The Padawan did a quick check of his blasters, nodding at Ruzaan in agreement as the young Togruta chose their next targets. At the sight of the armored Sith (@Faded) and Imperial troops, Arctus scowled. He hated the Empire, but his feelings were quite honestly irrelevant at the moment. He would help, but that didn't mean that he won't mentally gripe and complain along the way.

Could be bug food for all I care.

But a tool to reaching the Cadir, nonetheless.

The former smuggler gritted his teeth as he followed his fellow Padawan, the colors suddenly glitching at the surgence of new presences in the Force. They clung to him like dark, viscous liquid, momentarily halting his pace. He passed by the Sith, barking orders at his troopers while shooting at the approaching assassin-killiks.

"Right behind you! Open fire!"

He couldn't care less if they actually followed him or not, but it would be in the Imperial troopers' interests to protect their troop leader, right?

Commands about saving ISC's Big Daddy Thorne somewhat irked Arctus. The buff guy chose to enter the battle with a literal army behind him, so why were some in the group hellbent on getting to his aid first? Surely, Mister President knew what he was walking into with that stupid, handsome visage.

"Go get to the Cadir, 'tangina!" he shouted again, frustration clear in his voice as the Darkness cackled gleefully in the back of his mind.

If the Sith's troopers engaged the assassin-killiks coming for their leader and help Ruzaan eliminate the incoming threat, Arctus would pivot and instead would begin to dash towards the building where the Cadir was holed up. He would slow down a little as he caught up with the middle-aged gentleman (@Tom), shooting at any bug that assailed them.

• Arctus begrudgingly follows Ruzaan to help Roman and informs the Imperial troopers of the assassin-killiks approaching from behind.
• Arctus is shooting at the murder bugs while running.
• Like Veer and Ruzaan, Arctus reminds the Jedi and Sith that the Cadir is their top priority.
• He catches up to Claudias and joins the Brentalaan ambassador on their way towards the Cadir's building, shooting at the killiks that might assail them.

Fuck. The bridge was eerily quiet as the betrayal of the CDF rang through. Charlotte’s eyes momentarily flicked to the status read outs. They were dangerously close to being outmatched. The Joined CDF fleet bearing down on their right flank as the Killik main fleet steadily closed the distance. She balled her fist in frustration. Bastards one and all…but they Hapan…Hapan women. They would not be so easily cowed. That moment of silence. The perilous flick of oh shit, lasted a fraction of a second. The women of the bridge sprung into action. The witty retorts to Admiral dying on her lips. Whatever fun she thought they would have was gone. They now fought for their lives. The open encrypted com to the ISC came alive again. “Understood, Admiral. We’re coming around.”

The Royal Navy was split on either side of the ISC fleet but these were not ancient sea battles. Space was a three dimensional field. The left sided ships sunk down below the ISC fleet, as the right floated above. All the better to snagged the Heavy CDF fleet. The moment the ships were in range, the Royal Navy would begin raining down upon them. The bombers stayed docked and the fighter buzzed around their chosen charges. Their goal to protect the larger ships. Charlotte clicked her tongue. The com opening again. “We will have to deal with those eventually…and by the looks of it sooner than we might like. I’m preparing a gift for our Core friends.” Her next instruction went to the bridge.

Call home…we need all that be spared and send a distress single to anyone in the area. The Resistance and their Jedi overlords are meant to be our allies.” With that there was a chorus of yes your highness met with a flurry of action. The Royal Commandos and her personal guard would be rushed to the hangar. The Killik’s were not the only ones with a mind for a boarding party. Charlotte simply had to decide if the Queen would be leading it.

The Royal Fleet moves above and below to consolidate on the right flank to engage the CDF heavy fleet. The Royal Commands and Royal Guard prepare a boarding party.

Thayd Karkoza had seen many things in his life, but he had never witnessed such an apocalyptic figure as the Queen. A true lifting of the veil. Nirn emerged onto the battlefield like a rising ocean seeking to subsume all islands, and Thayd was struck with a feeling he could barely recognize in the moment. It was envy. He was envious as he watched her.

Zakrym La had been drawn in already, by his impulse to save. Draugr too, was pulled toward the Queen, unable to resist this awesome chance to test his own might. As he watched the tendrils of her power rise up red from below and coil around Emryc Thorne, Thayd himself took a few steps in the Queen’s direction. This was hunger that compelled him. Not an abstract hunger to be pursued through hypnosis, mind games, but hunger in the Anzat way. Since the dawn of days his kind had found their feasts amid the stars. He wanted to drink this Queen whole. To leave her a blind flayed doll, stumbling and lobotomized, as he digested her multitudes. Why not King Thayd? He'd speak with a million voices, grin with a million fangs.

Thayd turned away from this exalted horror. His heart pounded like a machine and the blood danced down every line under his skin. He needed to put distance between himself and Nirn Saron. All around him the battle intensified and Thayd took note as numerous bugs exploded like acid balloons. The most shocking sight to him, though, was that of Claudias Tannaras (@Tom ) literally hobbling on his cane in the direction of the Cadir’s building, blaster at the ready. Thayd knew his old limping ass would get fucking killed if he let him go ahead alone, so Thayd made toward the building with all speed. He raised his own blaster as he caught up to the aging diplomat, and would fire on any killiks that tried to intercept them. Fortunately he wouldn’t be the only one, as he noticed Arctus Friers (@Forsythe Crowholde ) join with them as they all converged in their path toward the building.

When they reached the Cadir’s building, Thayd would glance inside through one of the windows, trying to get a glimpse of what they might be faced with when they finally entered.

Meanwhile up in the corporate offices above, as Hauron (@Darasuum ) was picking himself up after cannonballing through a dozen layers of drywall, he would hear the distinct caw of Thayd's bird from behind him, perched on the back of an office chair. The avian was covered in dragon gore and bits of insulation. One of the monster's scales was bloodglued to the bird's crest, gleaming like a war medal. Another clung to its shoulder like a fresh-forged pauldron. Black singe on a few feathers but otherwise the bird was miraculously OK. It looked at Hauron and rasped its 2-packs-a-day laughter.

Thayd sees Queen Nirn, declines to follow Draugr and Zak in approaching her. Instead he makes his way toward Claudias, joining up with him and Arctus in running toward the Cadir's building. He has his blaster out, and along with those two will shoot at any killik attempting to intercept them or attack any of the three of them. Once they get to the Cadir's building, Thayd looks in through one of the windows to see if there are any potential enemies waiting inside for them on the first floor.

Alia had dealt with predators in the past, but nothing had prepared her for how this thing reacted. The speeder sent flying her way would have caught her by surprise, but the fraction of a moment that Arla's intervention bought her was enough time for her to launch herself into the air and flip over the hunk of durasteel and a questionable paintjob as it flew below her.

Landing not too gracefully, panicked and relieved at the same time, she caught Arla's eye from across the chaos and nodded in thanks, before jumping back to her feet and beginning to move to keep herself from becoming a stationary target. She came to a skidding stop when she heard Arla's call, and clipping her blade back to her waist, she clapped her hands together as she started chanting.

«Mountains high,» words escaped her mouth in a language most might not comprehend, «rivers deep, hold this crazy, stinking creep.» She pulled her hands apart, a slight green glow to them and slammed them to the ground. A tendril of green energy shot out from between her hands, and shot towards the creature. Bouncing over the surface of the ground as it reached the creature, it would shoot up once under it and wrap itself around its torso, at which point it would try to pull it down, and do its best to hold the thing in place.

@Logan @Phoenix
Alia takes advantage of Arla slowing down the speeder ot jump over it. She starts moving to avoid any immediate follow-up attack and when Arla asks to hold the creature in place she uses magick to shoot a tendril of power at the creature to wrap around its torso and try to pull it down and hold it in place.

Outside the Building

Arla's attempt to slow down the deadly speeder projectile was effective enough, despite the power behind the throw and the heft of the object itself. The fiery hunk of metal still careened forward, but with Arla's intervention, it had slowed enough for Alia to leap frog it and land unscathed.

With Alia's help in holding it down, Arla had found the hulking Killik's one weakness: lack of hands. With just massive crusher claws on the end of its arms, the Killik was not equipped at all to get something off of its head. Doubly so with the wounds to its back leg joints, there just wasn't much it could do.

So as Arla drove her lightsaber into its head, the Killik would release an insectoid, chittering moan before collapsing in a heap. Nothing else around her would instantly engage, leaving Arla and Alia free to decide their next course of action.

Clove's quick thinking and experience getting gross sticky stuff in her hair saved her from any true lasting damage from the acidic Killik blood. As she unleashed the force on any of the Killiks pursuing her, she might have been surprised to see just how strong her force wave actually was.

Any bugs that had been near her were sent flying in every direction, slamming into walls or speeders or even other killik. Clove's blaster shots hit the targets she was aiming for, and for the first time since the bugs had arrived the former Jedi could now see a clear path to the Cadir building.

In front of her, she would see Ruz and Arctus adeptly carving through some bugs in an effort to save Roman, even if they were doing so begrudgingly. Since the bugs had their gaze entirely on Roman and his troupe's massive repeater, the two Jedi padawans were able to dispatch them without much resistance.

Which meant, due to his Jedi saviors, Roman's troops were able to set up their massive gun and the Sith began unleashing its barrage of hellfire onto the intended targets. The hail of gunfire wouldn't last long, however. As Roman began clearing away swathes of Killik, before he turned the barrel on Nirn herself, he would have to make a choice.

The ground below him started to churn, something the Sith would be able to feel even through the noise and vibration of the repeater. Killik had burrowed beneath the emplacement, looking to suck the gun down into the earth in a pool of quicksand. The aim of the repeater would be thrown completely off-kilter, causing the barrage meant for Nirn to soar nowhere near her, instead plowing into both Killik and ISC forces alike that were on the edge of the battlefield.

Despite being cunning and extremely vicious, it also seemed that the assassin Killiks weren't exactly super smart. Despite their failure to destroy the massive destructo-bot that was X3R they continued to try. Once the droid got his hands on a blaster, though, the tide changed considerably.

X3R's blaster shots tore through the killiks in front of him with ease, leaving the droid unassaulted for the first time since the battle had began. Through his once acid gloop covered photoreceptors, he would see a group - Ruz, Thayd, Arctus and Claudias approaching the Cadir building, looking for the first time to actually get inside.

When the Scooby gang finally made it to the building, Thayd would see a rather disturbing scene when he poked his head up to peer through the window. Inside the building was just absolute carnage.

Blood and viscera covered every wall, dripping slowly down and pooling on the floor. The bodies of the poor Vratix that had been inside were littered everywhere, nearly all of them torn into various sized pieces as the Killik swarmed over them and ate their way through what little resistance had been mustered.

Fortunately, the lower floor seemed to be mostly abandoned at this point - which gave the group free reign to get inside and begin making their way towards the Cadir's panic room. Where exactly that might have been, though, was anyone's guess. Upstairs or downstairs towards the basement, they would need to make a choice. And time was of the essence.

In the upper floor, through the pounding going on his skull and the ringing in his ears, Hauron would hear Smoe Jith answer his question.

Fourth floor, said Smoe, somehow through all of this still seeming just as bored and unaware as he was before. Do you at least have my Door Dash? Gonna have to give you a negative review for breaking the window. The office does have a front door, you know...

The Vratix that had been with Smoe had already bolted from the room when Hauron had crashed their meeting, and unfortunately had run head first into some waiting killik. From his position on the floor, the Mandalorian would hear the sounds of screaming and death just outside. No rest for the wicked, as the saying goes.

Meanwhile, back on the battlefield, Zak and Draugr would encounter a road block on their way to intercept Nirn. Veer would also be witness to this development as he had been taking successful pot shots at Killik in the same area.

Swooping down from the sky was a grouping of horrifying looking bugs, looking to take Zak and Draugr by surprise. With their stinger-limbs - that were filled to the brim with highly noxious venom - they would swoop down to stab at the two men. If ignored, the bugs would surely kill them, even the powerful Sith.

At the same time, another trio would begin swarming Veer, who throughout the fight and still now had remained alone. Someone somewhere would need to return the favor he'd offered to others, or the Rebel would soon be little other than a glob of envenomed gore laying on the ground.

With Emryc's saviors currently distracted, the ISC president would still find himself in a precarious position. The images he was forcing into the minds of the Killiks would also dance across Nirn's perception - because what they saw, she saw.

Of course, this would only illicit a conniving smirk from the Killik General. Disrupting a hive mind that contained thousands of individuals was no small task, let alone when their dear leader was in such close proximity. The more Emryc pressed onto them, the more resistance he would find in his way.

A thousand thousand minds' worth of thoughts all occurring at the same time was an effective barrier to entry, even if the President had managed to pierce his way through initially. It was as if layers of brick wall would be erected in front of the hive mind, layer by later at lightning speed, until even for Emryc it would have been like pounding your forehead against an immovable object made of unintelligible static.

The ISC President may have become used to being the most powerful person in the room wherever he went, but he would find that today that simply wasn't true. Someone who may actually have been able to rival his power was his adversary today, and it would do him a service to understand that.

Despite this, Nirn did release Emryc from his bondage. If he wanted a real fight, she would give it to him - and whatever allies managed to interfere, despite being totally and completely out of their depth.

This was a battle between two titans, one where the galaxy itself was at stake. Nirn and her army would not fall to something so easy, so simple as Emryc's first attempt. And at the end of the day, even Nirn knew her life meant nothing in the grand plans of the Hive.

If nothing else, she only needed to bide time. The Cadir would belong to her soon enough, and the moment, the very instant that he was - Thyferra was doomed.

In Space

Indeed, the CDF's forces were engaging in a battle that might, on the surface, have seemed like a bad one. Their lesser light force was engaging headlong into the ISC's heavy ships - a surefire way for every single one of them to end up as little more than smoldering wreckage floating above Thyferra.

Of course, that was when the battle was viewed through the lens of typical tactics. Tactics where losses of ship and life actually mattered to the Admirals running the show. This? This battle was not like that. The CDF force was little more than distraction, simple fodder that was completely and utterly expendable.

The lives aboard those ships were worth less than nothing to the Killik Hive, and their loss would impact the ISC far more than it ever would the Killiks.

In the first clashing, the CDF would lose nearly a quarter of its light grouping, though the ISC heavies would also have some causalities. Meanwhile, the CDF heavy forces would follow the Hapan's maneuvers, looking to engage its heavy force directly with them like bringing a hammer down on an unsuspecting nail.

Even through losses, the CDF heavy formation would force itself onto the Hapan battlegroup, unleashing everything in its payload on the Queen Mother's forces. The Hapans would likely lose a large chunk of its ships on the right flank, of course the CDF heavy fleet would also sustain similar destruction.

Meanwhile, the main Killik fighter formations would slam head first into the ISC defensive screenings. Altronis would realize very swiftly that this naval fight was different than anything he had ever experienced first hand or even through training simulations.

The Killiks did not care how many they lost, only that their enemy sustained equal losses. When Dartships began going down, they would plow themselves into whatever ship was nearest to utilize the demolition charge placed in each and every one of them.

A pyrrhic victory was an overall victory for the Killik Hive. Altronis and Charlotte would need to adapt swiftly to these tactics, or the battle was already lost.

Arla was first surprised and then elated when the saber actually managed to find purchase, slamming through the creature's brain. She half-expected to be covered in acidic goo, but her saber seemed to do good work in cauterizing it immediately. The creature started to collapse and she leapt down, landing smoothly like an elf from a very popular book trilogy after he killed a giant elephant. She even had the ears for it.

With a lull in things attacking her, she took a moment to take in what was going on around her. Alia's up, not being attacked, need to find next target, power from the side, kriff is that President Thorne?

The thoughts flowed through her head at a million miles per hour and her feet were moving before she really completed the thought. Her heart was pounding as she swapped once again from saber to bow She forced herself to take a breath in through her nose and out through her mouth, trying to shake the adrenaline out of her hands as she leapt up once again to a higher story balcony.

She moved along and drew back her bow, loosing an arrow directly at the back of the creature assaulting the president. She could sense the power from the creature and knew that such a strike - even if it struck - was unlikely to kill it, but if she could even draw attention away or be one of a thousand cuts, it was worth it.

He had his hands full, but in the unlikely event that the President (@Sreeya) saw the young girl, at the long distance he would see almost the spitting image of a young Renfry, something only remembered by those few who knew the young, wild girl before she was a Queen or an Empress. Right down to the energy bow in her hands.

I made a LotR reference. Arla climbs to a higher vantage point and shoots at Nirn to add more distraction/small damage to the mix.

Altronis was glad to see that his opening maneuver at least was working. Heavy Alpha was designed for exactly what it was doing, and it chewed through the enemy light fleet like a sledge hammer goes through glass. The moment of satisfaction was short lived as he remembered those were ISC ships and soldiers his forces were obliterating.

He checked the battle monitors to see that the results were heavily in his favor on that front. Particularly the CDF's Corona Frigates had more firepower than most others in the division, and they scored hits of their own, taking down some of the more lightly armed and armored vessels like the carriers before they were able to escape or bring the enemy down.

But they didn't seem to care. The CDF vessels just kept coming like a crazed animal. There was no thought, no preservation... not even any tactics. Just blind attacks that ended in doom.

Heavy Alpha would continue, tearing through the Light ships without regard and beginning to open fire on the Command and Heavy elements of the CDF force. This was where the battle's casualties would truly begin to mount. Altronis already knew in his mind how it would go. It would turn into a slugging competition between massive cruisers that were over 2.5 km long. They would tear each other apart and thousands would die. He had to trust that Commander Yoland of Heavy Alpha would be able to hold her own while he turned his attention to the main force.

Could he even call it the main force? That would imply that the CDF wasn't a daunting obstacle in itself.

He could see the flashes of fire in the distance as fighters began to clash. Front waves of each side died by the dozens, but the advantage the ISC had in protecting itself from the kamikaze attacks was the Light forces. Each one contained corvettes that could shoot down fighters, mixed with the superior fighters of the ISC themselves. But while the ISC may have had better cannons and shields, the Killiks just had numbers. Some of the suicide ships began to make it through and slammed into the Light fleet, claiming several ships as they detonated in spectacular fashion.

Altronis shook his head as he watched, looking for his next opportunity to attack.

Zak brought his saber down diagonally across the chest of a Killik as he cut his way through the seemingly endless swarm and towards the President of the ISC. He felt his boots slap against the slick, sticky slurry of blood and mud as he pushed forward against the throngs of monsters. The Togruta felt a twinge in the back of his head, a pressure that slowly built up quickly in a sharp and precise manner. He recognized it as the Force warning him of an impending threat, a threat that was confirmed by what his montals picked up, the thrum of wings.

Zak glanced upwards over his right shoulder, his body tensed for a split second at what he saw cutting through the sky towards him, but he quickly pushed his own surprise to the side and simply reacted. As Zak spun, he brought his primary lightsaber upwards in a single hand to form a deadly arc and intercept the first of the trio as it swooped down upon him. While his primary blade arched upwards to cut down the first of the threats, Zak would use the Force to call his shoto lightsaber up and into his free hand. Immediately upon activation, Zak would lash out in a horizontal slash across the second insectoid horror. Unable to attack the third in his current position, Zak would simply use his momentum to throw himself to away the final swooping creature and allow it to pass by him.

Should he find himself safe from the insectoid’s first pass, Zak would quickly roll to face his opponent and fling his shoto in a blurring arch towards the creature. Zak would use the Force to increase the blade’s velocity, guide its trajectory, and regardless of if it hit or not recall the blade to his hand. Zak would huff slightly before forcing himself back to his feet, his eyes searched for a moment to find President Thorne again, once they locked back onto the leader of the ISC he would resume his hacking advance towards the Emryc. This time however, Zak kept his senses on full alert, the Killik hives were clearly an ingenious and voracious threat that couldn’t be underestimated.

Zak get a warning of the spoopy bugs through Force which is confirmed by the sound he hears through his montrals. He spins, tries to cut the first two down and dives aside to avoid the third then saber throws to kill it too. Once he is clear he starts giving Killiks the business end of his sabers once again while advancing towards Emryc and the Nirn Queen. #SaveEmrycNow

Ruzaan had seen the horrors of battle before, but even so, he grimaced at the scene inside the Cadir's building. Bits of what had been Vratix were strewn around; savage reminders of the threat that they all faced here today. To his pleasant surprise the older, out of place gentleman had somehow made it to the Caidr's building along with the Jedi. (@Tom @Evan @Forsythe Crowholde)

No time to ask how, though; the Cadir- and with him, the galaxy's supply of Bacta- hung in the balance. But where was the man? Ruzaan paused to remember the events leading up to chaos outside, then began searching the room. In their desire to consume the bodies of the Vratix, perhaps the Kiliks had neglected the a very key piece of inorganic equipment... their communicators.

If Ruzaan was able to find a communication device, he would gingerly wipe it free of the blood and gore covering it and would attempt to hail the last incoming communication; presumably, the Cadir's distress message sent just before all hell broke loose. "Cadir, this is Ruzaan Kai with the Jedi Order" he said. "What is your current location and status, and what's the quickest way to reach you from the landing pad level?"

If Ruzaan was not able to find a communications device, he would assist the others in keeping guard and/or searching for clues to the Cadir's whereabouts.

Alia almost leapt with joy when things actually went the way they were supposed to, her little trick actually worked (without having to rely on Arla doing the bulk of the leg-work for the spell), and the weird bug thing actually went down.

She was in such a good mood than when she saw Arla pull off her Spegolas impression, she didn't even mind that she found herself channeling Spimli. "That still counts as one!" She called out to her elfin-eared friend, pushing herself to her feet, and rubbing her hands on the sides of her pants to get rid of the grime that was plastered upon them.

Much like Arla she too started taking measure of their surroundings, looking to see if her little Jedi friend from earlier was doing alright. Spotting Clove firing away with her blaster, having successfully opened up a path towards the Cadir building. She was of course much too short to see the scooby gang enter the building, she she had to assume that they still needed reinforcements in the building.

She jogged up to Clove, and pointed towards the building. "Come on," she called, gesturing for the girl to tag along, "let the big folk scream and shout. We can sneak in and get this shit done."

If Clove agreed then Alia would accompany her towards the Cadir building, while in her head would play that one catchy tune from all the spacetube videos about the movies.

As the Zabrak would continue on to the flanking position, he would notice a shift of focus from the Queen. It was unfortunate to see, the Queen was now fully aware again and seemed almost unphased from whatever she had cross her previously. This meant if Draugr were to try and take on the Queen by himself then he may end up with some very bad news. So he would have to try for something different when the time comes. For now it was time to fight for himself.

Just as he was preparing to refocus on the building, he felt a vibration in the force, as if danger was coming in. It didn't take long for him to look around and notice the aerial assault by the bugs being made on him. It was danger close, and if he hadn't looked he may have ended up on a t-shirt. Luckily for him he did notice. And with the quickness he learned to have in combat as well as the power, he would raise his arm out and send a chaining wave of force lightning into the crowd of flying bugs.

If successful in this attack, it would fry the likes of the aerial bugs, or at the least damage them enough to deter their current attack.
The attack is taxing, especially when being used in full force for longer than a quick second or two. In dog fights like these, he would need to keep the rest of his energy but for now he wanted to show the killiks who their superior was. His pride telling him he's the stronger and more cunning warrior. Any leftover killiks from the killiks aerial attack, would be dealt with via the already ignited crimson blade of the Sith Master.

"Bring it on!"

Arctus made sure that he placed himself in the Brentalaan ambassador's blind spot, making sure that no bugs slipped past him to take a bite out of the elderly gentleman (@Tom). He was still unsure as to why the older man who looked as if he wouldn't hurt a fellow sentient found himself in such a chaotic situation, but the Padawan was certain that the ambassador might have a reason. Whether if it was a coincidence or not, the former smuggler made a mental note to look out for the gentleman. Any other politician would have bailed, but not the Brentalaan.

Well, Thorne included. But the ISC President was not Arctus's priority, so he focused on reaching the Cadir's building when he and the ambassador were soon joined by Ruzaan (@SlagathorTheUnknown) and Knight Karkoza (@Evan). He didn't bother checking on the Sith he and Ruz saved, telling himself that if the dude brought himself into yet another trouble then he was now on his own.

Or maybe the other Sith will look out for him. Or his troops.

Arctus had seen his fair share of carnage during his smuggler days, but the grotesque sight that greeted him as he followed the others into the building made him feel a little sick. Something definitely rose up in his throat, but whether if it was bile or his breakfast the Padawan soldiered on and pushed it back down, fighting a flinch that threatened to cross his face when his boots made a squelching sound as he walked in. The sounds of battle, chittering, and dying raged on outside, bur what made him jump was the soft crack! beneath his heel when he unknowingly stepped on a bit of exoskeleton.

"Shi– damn," he cursed softly, raising his blasters and fingers on the trigger in case a killik or two came bursting out of nowhere. Mimicking Ruzaan's actions, Arctus gingerly pried a comm device off of a crushed Vratix' death grip. After wiping away blood and viscera (no sign of acidic goop, thankfully) off the device he secured it in his pocket before readjusting his grip on his blasters.

"We can't split up at the risk of being overwhelmed by any creepy crawlies waitin' for a possible ambush," he told the group quietly, scanning their immediate area for any potential danger. While the first floor seemed empty, Arctus knew that he couldn't let his guard down even a tiny bit. Blue, mint green, and white danced on the edge of his vision as he let the Light of the Force steady him, his eyes briefly flickering on the Brentalaan and his life force's signature through the Padawan's eyes. "But then again, if we head off to where the bugs were amassing here in the building then they'll eventually lead us to the Cadir. Video game logic, I guess: if there's a fudge-ton of enemies ahead of you then you're in the right direction. We're surely gonna be outnumbered, though. Does this building have a map or something? I mean, it won't show the panic room, but we better have the lay of the land memorized and recognized, yeah?"

He knew that time was their greater enemy, though. If they didn't find the Cadir quick, the killiks would have Thyferra on their click-clacking pincers. Arctus wandered towards what remained of the reception desk, looking for a map and any working computer that survived the killiks' initial rampage within the building.

• Arctus follows Ruz, Claudias, and Thayd into the Cadir's building.
• He does a quick sweep of their immediate vicinity for any killiks even if the first floor is empty because ✨paranoia✨.
• Like Ruz, Arctus picks up a comms device and decides to keep it with him just in case.
• He advises the Scooby gang not to split up at the risk of being ambushed and outnumbered. He spouts off a video game logic (more enemies on your path = you're heading the right direction) but says they'll be outnumbered that way.
• Arctus then wonders out loud if the building has a map and wanders over to whatever remained of the reception desk in search of a map or any working computer.

Once Hauron felt like he had stable footing he could get a better idea of the people around him. But it was only a single individual who had decided to not flee immediately and mistook him for some kind of delivery driver. “I’m here for a pick up, not a drop off.” He quipped back at the aloof man. He sounded like he had a corellian accent if Hauron was any judge of origin. "I'm not actually delivery..." He began to quirk up a smile as he thought a joke that would make some people groan. "I'm da mando." He wondered if the man would get the reference to the store bought freezer pizzas.

The jokes would come to an end as no sooner had the Mandalorian taken a step towards the door than he heard the dreadful sounds of screams and wet tearing of ligaments and other evisceration indicators. Tightening his grips on the dual pistols in either hand, the Solus glanced back at Smoe Jith. He had not made an attack on Hauron so for now he would assume he was unjoined. The more important concern were the Killiks right around the corner.

“I need to get to Cadir Gryxis. Where is he?” The Mandalorian held his weapons at the ready. The first sign of a Killik would get a pair of energized plasma in their face. Hauron began scanning the walls for a sign of a fire escape route that was posted. Maybe he could use the map to navigate the layout of the building if the civilian lacked details.

“Come with me if you want to live.” He had always wanted to say that. But more than that, he expected his chances at survival were better than the Vratix that had just fled and become bug food. If there was a large group of Killiks trying to attack the Cadir, that might also be a good indicator where the VIP was located. Hopefully he wouldn't regret dropping the blackwell flame projector.

Hauron is recovering from his entrance and holding the angle in case Killiks charge in. He is kind of guarding Smoe Jith and wants to find out where Cadir Gryxis is.

The Force was locked deep away. Charlotte could not risk reaching for the Darkness out of instinct. She kept her mind shielded and that pool of power hidden. It was this secret that revealed to her the breadth of their situation. Even suppressed, she could feel the Force pulsing with the familiar loss of life. Her heart quickened as each death flashed. Another time she may have basked in the gathering Darkness, but this was different. Charlotte remained an utterly selfish woman…those were still her people dying. Lives she was sworn to protect. What power could she gain if her kingdom was in shambles.

The Royal Fleet continued to coalesce. Hammering away at the CDF while the ISC did likewise. They were close now. Far too close as the Killik fighters began diving towards the allied ships. The Miy’til fighters piloted by her elite forces were still superior still the superior craft. That did not seem to matter much to the Killik who only desired destruction. “Have the Miy’til focus on the Killik craft…keep them away.” The Shardships remained a distance away. What were they waiting for? “Launch the bombers, fighter escorts, target the CDF heavy fleet.” She could only tackle one problem at a time. If they could clear the CDF fleet, they might have a chance. “Nova’s in front, Dragons behind…rotate firing patterns to avoid gaps.” The Nova’s Ion cannons were well known. They would tear those shields down for the larger Dragons to finish off. The Dragons focused on one target at a time to take advantage or their rotating barrage.

“Queen Mother, the Chume’doro and Royal Commandos are ready at your command.” Charlotte clicked her nails together. The Killiks were unusual. Taking the command ship would change nothing. They would need to commandeer several ships to make a difference. She found herself wondering where the fuck were her reinforcements.

Charlotte commands the fleet barrage to continue, has her fighter focus on the Killik fighters, and launches bombers with fighter escorts to attack the CDF heavy fleet.
