DESCRIPTION​

The Auzituck-class anti-slaver gunship is a Wookiee-designed fast attack craft manufactured by the Appazanna Engineering Works on Kashyyyk. Used primarily by the Kashyyyk Defense Militia, the Anzituck has been in production since the Clone Wars, but has shown that it still has teeth even over a century later, participating in anti-slaver operations against well-armed, modern opponents.

The Auzituck is a sleek, compact craft, designed with the same streamlined, organic lines that much of Wookiee technology incorporates. Its name translates to "Liberated One" in Shyriiwook, the Wookiee language, a moniker that translates well both to its exceptional flight performance and to its intended role. The Auzituck is fast for its type and size, capable of an 85 MGLT top speed with decent maneuverability, nearly a match for some starfighters. It is equipped with a class 2 primary hyperdrive, and unusually for such a small craft, is also also fitted with a class 10 emergency backup. Armament consists of 6 forward-firing medium laser cannons. The Auzituck has a crew of 2, including a pilot and a copilot/gunner; it can also carry up to 8 passengers, plus 10 tons of cargo and consumables sufficient for up to a month in space.

The Auzituck is a capable gunship, serving with distinction through the Clone Wars. After the war's end, however, and the subsequent Imperial conquest and occupation of Kashyyyk, most examples of the type - as well as a large part of its manufacturer's production capacity - were appropriated for resistance operations, harassing Imperial forces on the planet and disrupting efforts to export its population as slaves. After the Kashyyyk Resistance was folded into the larger Alliance to Restore the Republic, Auzituck gunships saw action across the wider Galaxy, becoming a symbol of Wookiee defiance in the face of authoritarian oppression. After the end of the Galactic Civil War, however, most returned to rejoin the reconstituted Kashyyyk Defense Militia.

In the present day, Auzitucks are rarely seen outside Wookiee space, although their presence is not unknown, as Wookiee forces often cooperate with Sector Rangers in anti-slaver operations across the Galaxy. The type is generally not found in non-Wookiee civilian service, although a handful have been gifted to trusted off-worlders over the years. They are also occasionally used by pirates and slavers who took them from Wookiee crews.

LEGALITY​

Restricted. Auzituck-class anti-slaver gunships are military vessels, and are subject to extra licensing requirements and increased scrutiny by authorities.

To bring a vessel from Canon into our site's fanon, and to create a unique Wookiee design.

RESTRICTIONS​

Auzituck-class anti-slaver gunships are generally not available to non-Wookiee characters. Non-Wookiees who wish to own such a vessel must present a plausible in-character reason to have acquired one, to be vetted by a member or members of staff.
