I.

Change in Leadership: I'm stepping down from the title position of Faction Leader for the Mandalorians and Mandalore. Taking my place is an old veteran: Vencu! Eeryone please welcome him back, and wish him the best. I will still be involved within the faction, and will be taking on the title of Solyc al'akaan, or War Master, and will be Vencu's second and his right hand.

II.

MandalMotors: As some of you may have noticed, we have added MandalMotors to the list of Major Clans. This is to reflect the importance the company has taken both within the faction and the site in general. If you have a Mandalorian with a scientific bent, or inclined to play one, feel free to sign up with MandalMotors and earn a hefty salary while helping out your fellow Mandalorians.

Well since no one else have posted yet, I might as well do it. Job well done so far Kiro as Mand'alor, good to see that you will stay active as a vod. Congratulations on becoming Faction Leader again Vencu, looking forward to see what you have in store for the Mando'ad.

My access to the internet will be sporadic, but I will check in when possible. I apologize for not posting this sooner, but I should be back home either the 4th or 5th of February, so I won't be gone much longer. I know some of you have been expecting replies from me. New Fett Clan Leader: I've asked Nevermore to take the reigns and serve as the new leader of Aliit Vhett and he has accepted. Please congratulate him. I'm positive he will do well and under his leadership, I'm hopeful that the clan will regain its place as one of our largest and most active.

Archive Index: Kiro has listed the links to all the important informational threads and provided descriptions for each, all in one post. The result is the Archive Index. This index should make it much easier for our newer members to navigate the Mando board. Please thank Kiro for the time and effort she put into the project, as she did an excellent job.

New Beskar Policy: Due to the rarity of beskar, and to prevent people from joining for the armor alone, I've decided to further restrict its usage. Newer members to the faction must participate in and complete at least four officially sanctioned missions (led or organized by a clan leader or above) or two main story threads (inter-factional battles) before they are allowed to upgrade their armor to a beskar alloy. If you have questions or concerns about this new policy, please contact me via PM and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

As some of you may have already noticed, I've moved all clan-related threads from the Bralor, Ordo, Fett, and Vencu sub-forums and left expiring redirects to the Mandalorian Trash & Recycling Department forum. This will allow the current clan leaders and future clan leaders to retrieve that information at a later date. In the meantime, I plan on making some major changes to the Mandalorian board.

One of these changes is dissolving our current dependence on the clan system. As it stands, we have our member base divided by clans which are largely inactive. In other words, new members join a clan, discover the leadership is non-existent, then disappear themselves or turn to the most active group, the Protectors. The clans will still play a major role in the faction and nothing will have changed in-character. The only difference will be out-of-character: all clan sub-forums will be removed. Instead of sub-forums, each clan will be allotted a single informational thread. It will contain all the same information that they had in their sub-forums, but it will be far easier to locate.

Because the clans will no longer have their own sub-forums, the clan leaders themselves will have fewer responsibilities. The job of a clan leader will be in-character with the exception of maintaining the clan informational threads. Members will no longer have to sign up to join a clan. They will merely request their desired clan when joining the faction and that's it. If that character doesn't fit in with the clan later on, they can be moved to another.

There will no longer be clan-specific mission threads. Because of inactive leadership, clan members have been turning to the more active clans and joining in on their missions. It just doesn't make sense for us to split everything up and force members to search through the forums for active groups. The faction mission and bounty board will be updated frequently and will host all faction missions and bounties. I'll have more information on that at a later date.

Read on below to see additional changes to the faction board:

1. Archives >changed to> Database

Description: Description remains the same.

2. The Oyu'baat >changed to> Oyu'baat

Description: An area dedicated to social role-play and the location of the bounty and mission board.

3. Clans >changed to> Clans & Organizations

Description: Each of the major clans and all the information pertaining to them is listed here. The MandalMotors and Mandalorian Protectors sub-forums can also be found here.

Changes: All clan sub-forums removed. MandalMotors and Mandalorian Protectors sub-forums retained.

4. Proving Grounds

Description: Description remains the same.

5. Mandalorian OOC Discussion >changed to> OOC Discussion

Description: An out-of-character forum for Mandalorian-related discussions.

6. Mandalorian Trash & Recycling Department >changed to> Archives

Description: Description remains the same.

I believe these changes will make the faction board easier to navigate for newer members and it will put all members, regardless of their clan, together. IC, characters will still be able to remain members of specific clans, but we won't allow that to divide us OOC. That's the biggest change here.

Also, as you can see, MandalMotors and the Protectors will retain their individual sub-forums, which will be located in the same forum as the clan informational threads.

For some, I may have to do it myself. A lot of the clan leaders are inactive.

I'm still trying to decide how we'll keep track of minor clans or if we'll do away with our current system (minor clans under major clans) and allow all clans, small or large, to be posted in the same area. If we did do away with the current system, we could probably allow people to create their own clans so long as they met the criteria beforehand (a set amount of members, role-plays leading to their forming, etc). If we stay true to the current system, the minor clans would be listed within their respective major clan information thread. Thoughts?

I'm really happy with this change. When I first joined I was really lost and nothing seemed to be happening in my clan. This is great!

And this is just the first step. Eventually, we'll have one or two people in charge of updating the mission and bounty board frequently. That will give us new missions to take between story threads and give us plenty to do together. How it was before, everyone had to search for something to do. Now everything will be right out in the open and your clan can't hold you back.

Has there been any discussion of a population cap for clans. This would keep one clan from becoming too large and keep other clans from going extinct. Like the new set up, a lot more manageable for new members in my opinion.
