Attacking the Senator's Hearts (OPEN!)

OOC: OOC thread is here The OOC Thread... yup

A hovercraft marked “Luxury Home Furnishings” flew into the Senate District of Coruscant. Inside was a team of droids and a single delivery man. Dressed in a light-blue worker’s uniform, the human piloted the vehicle towards 500 Republica. In the small hold in the back was a handmade, hand-carved, decorative dresser. It was being delivered to a senator with exotic tastes. The droids would carry the delicate furniture, and the human would see to the social transaction and the installation.

The pilot turned and looked at his team of droids. He sighed at the fact that they weren’t as well groomed as they should have been. It didn’t matter; this wasn’t a fancy dinner he was going to. He was delivering a special piece of furniture to some senator. Even he wasn’t in the most desirable clothes. Nevertheless, he couldn’t get past the idea of looking nicer for being in the most dignified living quarters in the galaxy.

As the hovercraft approached the building, an alert came over the communications. It needed clarification that the ship had authority to land. Instantly, the pilot picked up the microphone and called in his response. “This is Luxury Home Furnishings vessel code 02445. I have a delivery for apartment D76.” The response came about a minute later. “Your code checks out. You are permitted to land in dock D.” The pilot shook his head; of course he was permitted. This was his job right? If the senator wanted this furniture, he had to be allowed in.

The truth of the matter was blind to all, even the droids. Only the pilot knew what was going on. As the craft slid into the dock, the pilot made account for every vehicle. The ship landed and a security crew came to greet the delivery man. The droids shot awake as the cargo doors opened. They picked up the dresser and started to move it out of the vehicle. “Careful, boys: we don’t want another mess up like last time.” the man griped. He stepped up to the head guard and spoke. “I have a delivery for room D76.” The security official looked over his data and nodded. “You’ve been expected,” he said. “Late as usual,” the guard complained quietly.

The guard led the delivery man down the hallways; the droids followed closely behind delicately carrying the furniture. The man seemed like his day was completely dull; what job was more exciting than delivering furniture to celebrities. No one knew it, but the deliverer was doing one much more exciting. The delivery was real, but the living employee was not as much. He was happy he didn’t have to take his vessel through space; the insulation had been removed and replaced with enough explosive to rip apart the entire D section of the building. However, the truck was not the only weapon of the mission. It was the last phase, and so everything before it had to be done perfectly covert. No one was better for the job other than Jyrden Garthyl.

The guard stopped in front of a door. The marking on the wall beside it said D76. The security officer stopped Jyrden and pulled out a scanning device. He checked over him for any weapons. He quickly tapped down him to make sure the scan was accurate. No weapons were on his body; he didn't need a single one yet. This satisfied the guard enough to page the Senator through the intercom.

A few moments passed before the door opened. The senator clasped his hands together jollily on seeing his elegant piece of furniture. "Ah," he chimed in a think accent. "My lovely decoration is here." He quickly rushed in the delivery man and his droids. He lead them to the room and spot where he wanted the piece installed.

On entering the installation room, Jyrden eyed over the room. There was one camera watching over everything. The cameras inside rooms were for private protection and to have evidence of a robbery. This camera would not be a problem, but the ones in the halls would. Cameras were the least interest at the moment, however.

The droids carefully rested the dresser on the ground. The senator started calling out orders on how to improve the position. On the minute chance that a guard was eying the scene through the camera, Jyrden waited for a blind point. The couch was the only effective blinding angle for the senator. The droids were set up in an angle to block the majority of the vision of the camera to Jyrden.

The moment for covert operations began. Jyrden pretended to push the lower left corner closer into the wall. At the same time, camouflaged by the droids, he opened the bottom drawer and pulled out a projectile pistol. The clip was filled with darts; the poison was a knockout variant that caused minor respiratory difficulties. He held the weapon stealthily so that the senator couldn’t see. Jyrden waited patiently for the politician to step into position. Finally the senator stepped into a point where he would be out of camera view except for his upper body.

A silent break of air sounded. The senator didn’t even notice it. The sudden prick caught him by surprise, but he quickly shook it off. He continued to speak out corrections to the deliverers. The gun had been returned to its hiding spot unnoticed. Ten seconds after the shot, the politician began to wheeze loudly. “Are you all right?” Jyrden asked without turning around. The response came as a positive, “I’m fine.” Inside his mind, the agent counted down. Five, four, three, two, and the body collapsed to the ground. It was a bit sooner than usual, but it still was fine.

Quickly Jyrden rushed over to the senator. “Security!” he shouted. “We need a medic! Help!” He reached down and began to do CPR. In the switch between breaths and thrusts he removed objects from the clothing. The first item removed was the dart; it disappeared down the delivery uniform’s sleeve. The CPR was acted sloppily for the camera; he wouldn’t be expected to know it too well for a deliverer. He did pathetic chest thrusts and too few. The breaths also shared the weak skill attributes. In the exchange of hand positions, several key cards were pickpocketed. One was to the senator’s hovercraft. The other two were to the turbolifts and apartment.

Guards scrambled into the room to help the senator. None had figured that he had been shot with a knockout dart. The security officials quickly worked to get the politician help. One moved the deliverer out of the way and began to do CPR in the proper way. Being completely ignored, as planned, Jyrden moved over to the dresser and stood patiently by it. All the men were fawning over the downed senator.

One drawer was opened carefully by the faux delivery man. He pulled out four boxes of chocolate pieces. The odd thing was that the boxes really did have chocolate in them. Two were decoys, in case the plot was discovered sooner. The other two had plastic explosive among the chocolate drops. The small boxes were put into the tool belt. One, a dud, was left on top of the dresser.

The security men were running in and out of the room, yet it was still easy for him to leave unnoticed. There wouldn’t be enough evidence to show he had a part in the incident until it was too late. They would have to catch him with the goods to stop him now. Out in the hallway, Jyrden walked down towards the north turbolift of the section. The hallways were not long or crowded; he reached the turbolift console unimpeded.

Sliding the senator’s card though the reader, Jyrden called the elevator up to him. As the door opened, the agent stepped inside. He wasn’t ready to make an escape yet; he need to do more work. He dropped a wrench over the door sensor of the turbolift to make sure the door wouldn’t close. A moment later he pulled out an explosive box of chocolate and held it against the ceiling. A magnet in the box held it to the ceiling. Anyone who saw it would be in awe about why chocolates were stuck to the roof. It screamed more of a prank than a terrorist action. Still, the explosive in that location would demolish the breaking and holding system of the machine, and the car would slam hundreds of floors downward without stopping. Picking up the wrench, Jydren abandoned the turbolift and headed towards the section’s south lift.

A smile crossed Jyrden’s face as he saw the movements in the hallway ahead. The Senator was being carried off in a stretcher, most likely to an ambulance. That was the only gift he could give the poor guy for giving him the cover of chaos; the senator would be away from the blast area and safe in the Senate District’s medical building. He didn’t want to have the guy hurt more than he was; after all, now everyone was paying more attention to the unconscious senator than him. The diversion was only temporary; once the senator was off, the guards would return to their patrol. The final charge had to be put down quickly.

Jyrden’s pace grew swifter as he moved towards the hallways secondary turbolift. He didn’t have time for an intricate set-up. He had spent too much time positioning the previous charge directly where the braking system would be destroyed. He knew it was a waste; the reality was that the high explosive would completely incinerate the lift and everything nearby it no matter where positioned within. Right now, “close enough” would do the job. Time was of the essence; he didn’t want to blow the charges in the turbolifts and the delivery truck while he was in the building. Taking this knowledge to heart, he did not waste any time in sliding the access card through the reader to open the lift’s door.

Before the metal doors swung open, Jyrden pulled out the next fake box of chocolates. As the lift opened, he quickly tossed the box inside. The magnet beeped for only a second before it snagged the camouflaged explosive to the elevator’s wall. Jyrden did not bother to look to see whether his aim was any good. He had turned away and walked towards the Senator’s room. His work wasn’t yet done; he had a dresser to install.

On returning to the senator’s room, the guards were quickly regrouping to their posts. Instantly one became suspicious of the delivery man’s disappearance. “Where did you go?” Jyrden was asked. ”I wuz lookin for a bathroom to wash myself in.” Jyrden spoke using a convincing accent. ”I get really afraid of germs, sir. I had to clean up from the aid I tried giving the poor guy. He just fell down, and I didn’t want to catch a sickness from him.” The guard shook his head. “There aren’t any restrooms except in the apartments. Don’t wander by yourself.”

Jyrden nodded and went to finish taking up tools and to make sure the dresser was in place. Neither of these two things would make any difference, though he did have a few things to take out of the dresser. He had to retrieve his pistol, and he needed to pick up one last thing. The handmade furniture carried the device that would detonate the delivery vehicle and its bombs. The gun was just a personal weapon, but the detonator was necessary to complete the mission.

Jyrden entered the room where the dresser lay without any interference. The senator had been carried off, and the guards expected him to be finishing up his job. In reality, the security personnel were not to far from the truth. Once he was back into the section’s hanger, he would be quite finished.

After he approached the dresser he opened two drawers. He removed the pistol from the bottom drawer and placed it into his tool belt. He reached up into a higher drawer and pulled out the detonator and placed it along with his pistol. With both items retrieved, he closed up the dresser and turned towards the apartment exit. He ordered the droids to follow him back to the ship and gave the room’s camera a goodbye salute before heading towards the door.

As he stepped through the door, Jyrden gave the security officials a farewell nod. ”Well,” he said for a goodbye phrase. ”She’s a beauty. Hope he likes it a lot.” With that he walked towards the section hanger bay. The job had been finished near properly. Now the hardest part was to get away without being tracked down. Coruscant was a big city: it was easy to get lost in, but there were plenty of people to alert him to the law. The escape would require a better show of covert operations than the mission had already.

Ignoring the droids behind him, he walked quickly into the Hanger. A few guards were placed throughout the huge room. His exit would be difficult to reach unnoticed; he had to go for it at the last moment when he was fully prepared. He didn’t want to have the entire security system after him when he was unprepared.

Jyrden moved directly for his explosive delivery truck. The amount of explosives that replaced the insulation between the metal plates was more than enough to decimate everything in the hanger and rip apart the entire apartment section. It wouldn’t bring down the building, but it would be a pretty impressive terrorist act. The important thing, however, was to get away before he blew the charges. He wasn’t too enthusiast about becoming a casualty of war. If it was necessary to complete the mission, he’d commit suicide by blowing the charges.

Walking to the rear of the deadly vessel, he entered into the cargo hold rather than the front cockpit. The hold didn’t have much space; it held another small piece of furniture that the owner would never get. Jyrden quickly fished about the hold until he found a dirty tool bag made of animal skin. The bag was zipped closed, but the agent knew what was inside. It held some important items of his. It held a few weapons, including grenades, like smoke and fragmentation. He had what he needed to escape; now he had to do it with minimal chaos.
