OOC: Keep this 48 hours posting

Altair had been on this planet just once before, and it was with his Master Veles. It wasn’t too long ago that he felt the horrible pain of loss, a severing of their bond. It was a numb pain since he hadn’t seen the man in years, but it was there all the same. And Altair knew that Veles was no more. He had no desire to be on the planet, but some bitch in the senate from the comfort of her pod decided the entire galaxy needed to root out some swamp witch that minded her business for years.

He was normally not the petty type, but he certainly entertained discussing with ISB ways to make Governor Archer personally suffer for the countless losses he was about to take today. Altair knew Nightisisters were batshit - they would fight till their last breath before giving up Andruil, and Andruil was more likely to become the new Jedi Grandmaster than to leave Dathomir quietly.

He wasn’t the type to stay back in safety while his men got butchered, so he walked down the ramp of his ship to set foot on the planet against the suggestion of his advisors. There was a small fleet hovering above, but he knew there was no real fleet defense here. This would almost exclusively be a ground assault.

The Grand Marshall was dressed in his officer’s uniform, knowing he would have to rely on the Force today. He had his gauntlets at the ready, along with his old wan-shen tucked away. He surveyed the lands and grimaced, pulling up his comms to address the other Imperial leads, “They have unconventional means of fighting. Expect guerilla tactics and the use of local animals both on ground and aerially. Deploy AT units. Prepare to distribute rancor pheromones when necessary,” It was a measure he thought of applying if they faced any. Veles had been instrumental in educating Altair on Dathomir.

“I need a scouting report stat.”

He could already tell this would be a long, grueling assault.

Why the fuck did it have to be Dathomir?

It didn’t matter where in the Galaxy one hailed. It was almost a guarantee that they’d heard stories about the home of the Nightsisters, and the strange witchcraft that it’s matriarchal society practiced. Even during its time with the Empire, few outsiders ever actually ventured to the planet, and for good reason. From raising zombies to riding Rancor, all of it was terrifying.

And it was precisely Asher’s luck that he would be assigned the task of arresting the Queen of their planet.

Asher was dressed in his standard-issue Trooper Uniform - helmet equipped and visor flicked on. His fingers twitched against the grip of his rifle, but the Imperial otherwise didn’t break formation from where his squadron of IAF had been stationed near the landing zone. While others scouted deeper into the jungle and gained an aerial on the surrounding area, it was Asher’s responsibility to defend the foothold established by the Empire.

The entire time, Asher couldn’t shake the feeling that he was being watched - surrounded by the red mists and thick brush of Dathomir. Stories of ghosts and witches only confounded the anxiety felt by so many Imperials on the ground, independent from the fact that they knew little on the terrain.

Aadya didn't even need to hear Altair speak to know that he was annoyed. Well, annoyed was probably an incredible understatement. Pissed that he had to assault this place on the whim of a faceless, moronic senator was probably more accurate. Not that it really mattered. They were here and they had a job to do.

Aadya exited a transport ship and walked down the ramp shortly after the Grand Marshall. Explicit orders had not been given, and true to her nature, Aadya gravitated toward Altair to stand guard of him. She said nothing, her face stony in her silence. Not out of pettiness or old feelings. She was here to do a job too, and he would know that.

Aadya on a mission was not the same person she was in her private life.

Her lightsaber hung loosely at her hip, her armor - however gauche she found it, though she kept those opinions to herself -glinted dully in the Dathomirian light.

Bringing Renfry in was going to be no small task. It was was likely an impossible ask, to be honest. But Aadya always enjoyed the missions where success seemed impossible. Defying expectations was one of her best personality traits.

Standing near the Grand Marshall, Aadya sighed slightly before taking out a cigarette and lighting it. It might have been against decorum but she didn't care. It seemed unlikely anyone would say anything given the grave nature of the work they were about to undertake.

Offering one to Altair, Aadya would look the horizon.

She was ready to die here, if that is what it took.

12th Infantry Regiment

Commander Jonathen Baize stood at the front of his column. He passed on the briefing he had heard earlier to his Batllion Colonels so they could relay it down the chain of command. "I want 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Battalion's leading the charge with 4th Battalion in reserve." They had been told these people could use Rancors as weapons, and while he was hoping the armored divisions would be able to handle them, he had devised strategies of his own utilizing their Treadspeeders.

"Prepare the soldiers for the assault. The command could be given at any moment," he saluted, dismissing his Colonels. Their soldiers were currently in a defensible location but were ready to move out at a moment's notice.

He placed his Assault Armor helmet on, it sealing into place. The soldiers were prepared. They had trained; they were good soldiers. They would handle whatever horrors awaited them.

He knew they were fighting Dark Side cultists but didn't know much about the politics of it all outside of their briefing. In reality, the politics didn't matter to him, didn't matter to his soldiers. This is what they did. They fought. They Bled. They Died. All in the name of the Empire.

There was a nervous energy in the air; there always was before a battle.

The waiting was the worst part.

Knight al-Bahir strode from her dropship, clad head to toe in her crimson Imperial Knight's armor. Her helmet was an unusual locked-together clamshell design made to allow a vacuum seal around her two larger horns, both visible and polished to a fine, dark sheen. Her belt carried her lightsaber along with a standard-issue DG-34 pistol. Given this wasn't a formal occasion, she'd forgone the cape. It'd only get in the way.

Long legs carried her, leading a squad of soldiers to the eastern front with the collection of others. She did not command a great force. However, having many officers here would help coordinate. Even the Grand Marshal couldn't command an army without officers at the front. No one could.

"Grand Marshall, sir" she greeted the man with a sharp salute and a nod toward Knight Rasheer. "Scout report due in three." Unless he had further orders she'd continue on her way, snapping another salute to Commander Baize on her way past toward the eastern section of the landing zone. They were in enemy territory and the Forward Operating Base must remain secure for them to have any chance of success.

It wasn't obvious by her demeanor but she had no desire to be here. She understood some of the reasons for the ISC governor's proposal and Karn's acquiescence but also had no love for it. It'd been a political trap with no good response and now good, honest soldiers were going to die. She hoped Governor Archer fell down a flight of stairs on a ten-story building.

She and her soldiers set themselves up on the eastern side of the FOB and got to work setting up deployable barricades, per standard procedure. After a word from her second she reported in over comms. "East side clear, barricading. Scouts due in one."

Knight-Captain Winnz was pleased as peach pie to be on the swamp planet. He and a few of his peers had been stumped by a an impenetrable fortress on Almas. Now the Ossein had a chance to ask a Nightsister face to face how they teleported. Maybe then he would be able to unlock the fortress's secrets.

The pursuit of knowledge was a secondary objective. Wiley had a responsibility to lead Imperial Knight forces and represent their might. He calmly left the Upsilon class command shuttle behind him as he was accompanied by two Knights on either side. Another two waited at the bottom of the ramp to the starship as guards. They were each clad in the red and black uniform of Imperial Knights, akin to Wiley though they lacked the markings of a Knight-Captain.

Perhaps what stood out most about Wiley was what he carried in his right hand. In his right hand he held a Zabrak skull. Having palmed the skull crown of the skull so the horns curled up around his wrist, he held the horned head of @Raksis by his side. The bleached bone of the grinning skull looked ahead at the Dathomiri landscape the Zabrak had once called home. There were a few reasons he had come to Dathomir but perhaps not all of them were known to him. "Welcome home, Raksis." He said to the skull rhetorically. (@Charles )

Without saying another word he would arrive a few steps behind Aadya who he recognized. The rest were relatively new faces to the man aside from the Grand Marshal however even his appearance seemed to have changed with time. His team of Knights was ready to move or take point wherever Altair Din saw fit. The command shuttle sat idly behind them, prepared to fly them closer to their enemies if need be or if his superior needed him in a distant part of the battlefield.

Ailis Drast was fairly certain the planet of Dathomir had served as inspiration for whoever had designed their imperial Knight armor. Red skies over red trees over red dirt. She was pretty sure there would be plenty of red blood soaking into the ground to match by the end of the day.

Her battlestaff rode the hip of her uniform. The dull red of her chest plate almost perfectly matching the surrounding foliage. What's that for camouflage eh? Catching site of Aadya lighting a smoke, she walked over to join the woman.

"Bum a smoke?" She asked. It had been years, but there was a sinking feeling in her gut that had been there since they landed. She would be damned if this planet killed her... But the planet looked like the corellian hells, so perhaps she already was. Yeah. If she lived she was picking up smoking again.

Katara and her sisters watched the invaders in the distance from their perch atop the trees, spread out and hidden among the dense foliage. Her first reaction to the news of the arrival of outsiders had been to brush it off. She wouldn't have been wrong to assume it was just another pair of padawans who had lost their way or some Darth Mandalore impersonator in desperate need of having some sense beaten into them.

And while it wasn't something quite as irritating, it was more serious. To think that these outsiders would assume to show up on their home, and hope to capture their queen? Katara wasn't some fanatic loyalist who would lay her life down for the Queen, but neither would her pride allow her to just sit by and do nothing when she was attacked.

Because an attack on the Queen was just that, an attack on them all.

"Skoi sma fiil," she muttered to the bird cupped in her hand, "kandog fwa izish!" The bird flew into the air, moving to become one of many taking to the air in response to the presence of the outsiders, circling above them.

For now, as the birds gathered, she observed.

General Maximus Dram strode hurriedly across the dark ground, his assault corps armour almost indistinguishable from that of the two guards by his side.

Max's hazel eyes scanned the landing site, not wasting a precious moment to assess their position. Their expeditionary force had landed in record time and was quickly moving to put down roots. Max had brought the bulk of III Corps with him at the Grand Marshal's request and their presence now stretched almost out of sight, men and machine furiously establishing a secure perimeter.

He found the red helmets of the Imperial Knights a strange comfort; their Force talents were in particular need on this operation and he had ordered the redeployment of as many as possible to buttress their forces.

Max was less pleased about their reason for being here. He was not one for raking over the past, never mind throwing men and military resources in harms way to arrest an old witch. Whatever Andruil had done, it had been a different time. War was harsh. Max held the Sith in disdain, but the Senate was not far behind. Many good plans had been interrupted by this venture. He intended to make sure it was worth it.

"Grand Marshal" the General called, snapping to attention and saluting the Tiefling. Much had changed since they last met. "Five regiments stand ready to advance as soon as the scouts report back". He flashed a glance towards a shadow above the treeline, but it was only a few birds.

"Do you intend to head out yourself Sir?" he asked more quietly, stepping closer, the metal fingers of his left hand flexing in a fist. Part of him wanted nothing more than to hack and slash his way to their objective, but he knew he was now responsible for far more than his own desires.

Renfry had dreaded this day for years and after over two decades had finally convinced herself it wasn't coming. She had risen in the Empire and brought the Nightsisters into it in large part so that she could put a protective barrier around the planet. Now all of that was going to become the architecture of her own destruction. Perhaps it was the rightful payback for what she had done or perhaps it was punishment for her own pride. Or maybe it was just the way the galaxy worked.

Mixed with the sadness, though, was a fiery rage that couldn't be described. A pure fury that would level anything or anyone who came near to her. She had left the Empire to its devices, retreated from the galaxy to let it finish its own problems, and now some louse of a Governor had chosen to reopen old galactic scars for her own personal reasons. Death would come for her in time, Renfry already knew.

She had made her preparations for that as well.

The forewarning that Emryc had given her had allowed her to vacate the palace, prepare her forces, and set traps throughout the jungle. The invaders would have to fight for every inch of ground, but she knew that defeat was almost inevitable.

It burned her inside and fueled that same rage that had been growing within her.

She had watched the ships descend from a distance, and she knew where they had landed. While the Nightsisters may not have had the technological prowess of the Empire, they would quickly realize that Dathomir itself fought with them. The plants, the animals, the people who lived here, and the Shadow itself. There was nowhere in the galaxy that the power of the Nightsisters was stronger than their own home.

Leave Dathomir or it will be your tomb. Taking your pound of flesh will cost you seven more.

The voice of the Queen would seem to appear and play out around everyone gathered. It was a whisper from the myst, a haunting chill on the back of their necks. It was a promise and a last chance to turn back before death found them. And it was a signal to the Nightsisters to be ready to strike.

From deep within the jungle, Renfry rose from her seat on the ground. Even after having been a galactic leader, she still found the comfort of the floor to be grounding. Let's go, my friend, she said, giving a sad smile and reaching up to touch the snout of Siph. It seemed an eternity ago that she and Emryc had first encountered the wolf, and it had lived and adapted to Dathomir's fauna and darkness over the many years since.

She took up her bow, knife, and lightsaber for the first time in many years, and headed for the intercept path of the Imperial war machine.

She knew the attack would ultimately have to be centered around the palace, but she wasn't foolish enough to leave all of her forces there. They would have much worse chances out of the jugnle, so that was where they would fight. She had learned from the mistakes of Talzin; holding the line was a fatal error.

---

The Nightsisters who had once been a part of the palace's daily runnings were the elite warriors of the planet. Huntresses, warriors, beast wardens, and shadow killers recruited from across the Clans. Many had served time among the Sith, and more still had worked as killers across the galaxy in service to Dathomir. They were lethal, well trained, and had already been instructed about their roles. Though only Renfry, Síle, and Sheehan knew the fully extent of the plan, each had been given their role clearly so they could perform it even in the absence of instruction.

They didn't know that the Queen had plans for some of the technology she had once used many years ago to fortify the planet. They didn't know what the others were doing, but she knew.

Amidst the jungles they were hidden. Bows, knives, energy lances, duskblades and more were ready to claim blood. Each weapon was as unique as its wielder.

Leading the first of the Nightsisters was none other than Sheehan. The Captain of the Queen's Guard had been Renfry's left hand ever since they first slew Jedi together decades ago. She was one of the only warriors to have survived the Eternal's attack on Dathomir, and she was - apart from the royal line itself - perhaps the deadliest warrior in Renfry's queendom. As ever, she stood ready to fight the enemies of her world.

They all did, and they would die for their homes.

Altair exhaled softly as he felt a brush in the Force. The very planet itself would turn on them and he knew it. Dathomir was always shrouded in mystery and danger with countless stories of people venturing in and never coming out. The tiefling was a formidable man, but he felt insignificant next to the tall trees, the vast landscapes and the way it felt as if he were constantly being watched. He very well could die here. At least he would die among his men, he thought to himself.

The tiefling pulled up his NalPhone, typing away a message to Clove (@LilyNion ), ‘Tell baby girl her daddy loves her more than the galaxy,’ before he looked at the screen. It was a picture of his daughter. The only girl to have fully claimed his heart forever.

“I don’t think I have much of a choice, General,” Altair said as he gazed over at Dram (@Alhon ), “Andruil is comparable to Darth Raze in strength,” Every Imperial knew what that meant and the gravity of this. There would be deaths - it was just a matter of completing their objective before every last one of them died.

Altair heard the voice of the Queen, his tail flicking from uneasiness. But he wouldn’t back down. He gazed ahead as he called out, knowing the Queen would hear along with her people, “Your people need not suffer, Renfry!” He said, “We come only for you. Come quietly and your planet remains unharmed. Our quarrel is not with Dathomir. I have not pursued you following your sovereignty. You know I wish no harm to your people,” Every word of that was true. Altair could have burned Dathomir as soon as the split happened if he wanted, “If your sisters die today, know that their blood is on your hands as much as it is on mine. Be a true Queen and take the step that guarantees the survival of your people.”

The tiefling lowered his voice, turning to regard Dram with Commander Baize (@Raydo) hearing him on comms, “Prepare to mobilize units at the first sign of aggression. They will likely have laid traps,” He paused, “Gentlemen…morale will be low. The Nightsisters use the Force in a very twisted way..far more unnatural than what most of your troops have ever seen. You will have to help your men find courage.”

He spoke into the Knight shared channels, “Knight Captain Winnz,” He addressed him (@Darasuum )directly, “You have command of the Knights. Lead a recon mission to the Nightsister tribes. None are to be harmed if possible. See if any can be swayed to turn the Queen over to protect their tribes. Use force if they show aggression,” He looked back at Dram, “I want Andruil to keep her focus on our main forces marching on the palace in the meantime.”

Jonathen nodded as the comm went off in his. "Yes Sir!" he snapped in reply to the Grand Marshall.

The Commander pulled off his helmet so his men could see his face. "Alright, soldiers! Be prepared for an attack and be ready to move out. They have taken to the trees. They hide, hoping we turn tail and run home, BUT WE ARE NOT GOING TO DO THAT, ARE WE?!" he shouted. "NO!" the soldiers responded.

"They will try to use magics and tricks to try and frighten you into submitting and giving up, BUT WE ARE NOT GOING TO DO THAT, ARE WE?!" he shouted. "NO!" more soldiers responded.

"YOU are this Galaxy's judgment. YOU are this Galaxy JUSTICE!" he shouted. "NOTHING WILL STAND IN YOUR WAY!"

He raised his rifle in the air. "FOR THE EMPEROR AND FOR THE EMPIRE!" he shouted.

His soldiers all lifted their weapons and responded as he slammed his helmet back on.

"FOR THE EMPEROR AND FOR THE EMPIRE!"

Renfry heard the words of Altair. Altair who had once sat on her ship and who she had shared a meal with. Altair who in another life might have been a good friend. Altair who had been the apprentice of Veles, one of her own in a way. Altair who now led an army to her lands.

His words were ones that almost sowed doubt in the Queen. She didn't want her people or her planet to die. She would nearly have turned herself in simply to spare the world that she loved more than life itself. But this wasn't just about her. The Nightsisters were the planets immune system, and without them, who would drive off the invaders? It was about the fact that if she gave way now to a force like this landing on her world, they would simply come and occupy it without her to defend it. The only way to secure the planet's safety was to make them pay so dearly for each inch of ground that there was no option for them.

And if she died doing that, then so be it.

Her response was quiet. Though spoken aloud, it was something that only he would hear as a quiet whisper from an incorporeal body.

How far you've come from when we sat and ate together, she said. She should have killed him then... would have killed him then if she knew it would avoid the Sith being removed from the Empire and the Empire now coming to destroy her.

No, you cannot shift the blame for what's going to happen. I didn't come to your home. I didn't land on your world. I didn't bring troops to your doorstep, she said. Although she felt rising anger in the pit of her stomach, her voice was even.

I am Dathomir, and I will defend what's mine. Find peace beyond the Veil, she said.

They were her mantra of her life, and words that resonated with history and weight that few would know. She had spoken them to her Clan Mother before killing her during the uprising, she had spoken them to the Eternal before killing her during the coup, and she spoke them to Altair now.

The Fanged Spirit would feed tonight.

Oh well, it was worth a shot. Altair sighed, shaking his head. His tail drooped closer to the ground. He picked up the comms, “All units engage. The Queen has chosen war,” He said bitterly, his rage coming across. None of this should have been happening. He had little desire to kill Renfry, but he would tear her to shreds if it meant protecting the lives of his men. If she was Dathomir, he was the Empire.

“General Dram,” He said through shared comms, “Advance your troops based on what the scouts report. I will drive a strike team forth,” He looked at the group of Imperial Knights, “I need a volunteer,” He called out to them. Altair knew he would have to use the Force if they were going to engage Renfry and the Nightsisters. He couldn’t risk Max and other Imperials falling over dead right out the gate. He had to be part of the frontlines. Dram was in control of all ground troops and vehicles on the field. The biggest direct responsbility was on his shoulders.

With that, the tiefling began to advance on the palace, knowing Renfry would have her guards and strongest defenses there.

Ailis took a cigarette from Aadya, holding it with her lips as she lit the tip. A deep inhale and the sickly sweet taste of t'bac. It was heavenly. A second drag was savored as Ailis rubbed out the cherry and stuffed the cigarette in the pocket of her suit and put on her helmet.

"I volunteer Grand Marshal Din." Ailis said from beneath the crimson helmet of an Imperial Knight. She knew they would be heading for the front lines, where the fighting would be thickest. She looked around her at the brave men and women who would be marching with them. She looked at Altair, the boy she had once known had become more than just a man. He was the heart of this Empire. The Empire that was the only thing she had left. The strike team was to be the sword that sought the enemies heart. She would be their shield.

Giving a nod to her fellow Imperial knights, she would walk forwards along with the Grand Marshal and towards whatever fate waited there.

Max saw the imperative immediately once he thought about it. He almost forgot the Grand Marshal was a Force user given everything the Tiefling had done to keep them in check, but of course he had to go. Their enemy wielded a power only he and the Knights could grapple with. "Yes Sir" Max saluted Altair (@Sreeya ) "we'll keep her attention". The General knew that would likely mean taking some hits for the greater good, but such was the nature of war.

Pride swelled in his chest as he strode back down the ranks. This was real soldiering. Max overheard the last of Commander Baize's (@Raydo ) rousing words as he passed by. The General had heard good things about the 12th Regiment and paused to lean in. "Take your men towards the front of the column Commander, but no heroics just yet. I need eyes and ears I can trust on our advance. Stay on the comm".

Max hurried on, reaching his A6 Juggernaut nestled in the rough center of the column. Aside from the AT-M9s due to lumber along with the second wave, it was one of the largest vehicles they had deployed. Max was skeptical any of them would make it all the way over Dathomir's rugged terrain and they were not facing an entrenched, armored enemy. This was asymmetric warfare and Imperial forces needed to be flexible and adapt.

The ranks of infantry ahead and behind made for a dark snake of glinting helmets and armor, Scorpio tanks punctuating the center like a spine and the more readily available Occupiers flanking the sides. While most troops were on foot, several regiments had units on Treadspeeders, able to deploy and react quickly and the General had requisitioned BTX-42s for smoking out the enemy. They would set the whole damn jungle on fire if necessary.

Max quickly surveyed the landing site behind, as UA-TTs stalked past to join the advance and a pair of XG-1s circled overhead on close air patrol. They had a secure perimeter back here, with two regiments posted to hold it. The General's eye fell on a strapping Lieutenant a little way off (@Altaris ) and he gave him a nod.

The scouts arrived back, screeching to a halt on their speeders to report their findings. One was missing and the others were shaken, but they confirmed the valley ahead ultimately led to the Nightsisters' palace. The jungle heavily encroached on parts of the route however and they may face other obstacles, natural and unnatural. Few of the scouts claimed to have actually seen a Nightsister, Andruil was keeping her forces hidden, but more than one had heard the cries of a rancor.

Max gritted his teeth. It was time. "All units" he began, hauling himself up into the A6 and keying the comm for broadcast across the entire deployment. "This is General Dram. Today's victory is in your hands. We have the numbers and we have the firepower. Our enemy has nothing but mysticism, and the same magick as the pathetic Sith.

Many of you know me; know that I have punched Sith and seen them go down. The witches hiding in these woods are no different. They cannot make you fear, because you are FEARLESS. They cannot trick you, because YOU SEE TRUTH. They cannot kill you, because THEY ARE ALREADY DEAD!!
".

Max thumbed the Juggernaut's horn, a low toll that rippled across the valley. "First wave, advance!". Up ahead, the first five regiments would set off forward, with Commander Baize and the 12th among them. The first gouts of flame were visible, as troopers scoured any brush cover that fell too close.

The General motioned his command officers to their stations, to disseminate orders and reminders to the engineers and Knights up front to be wary of traps. Once the first wave had reached their waypoint, Max and the next seven regiments would follow.

As the battle looms, a figure in black robes watch from a distance. It was Trell Tallhound. The Sith who rose quickly through the ranks and is among the Sith Champions stands there in anger and dismay. “Traitors! All of them are traitors. One day, I will make them all pay for what they have done!” He says to himself. At that, he leaves before he is spotted. At this point on, Trell is even more determined. He wishes to get revenge on the Jedi and the Empire. But he knows for now he has to be patient…

He looked forward, solemn, as the command came from the Grand Marshal. As he prepared, he was joined by General Dram. With a firm thump to his chest, he saluted the man. "Yes Sir!" he said, issuing orders to those in his command as the General moved down the line. "I want our spotters on each flank; no one gets near us without us noticing," he said.

There was a moment of stillness, the General's words echoing in the comms of thousands of soldiers. They weren't fearless; none of them were. For the moment, they all let themselves believe they had no fear so they could take the most challenging step in any battle, that first step.

They let themselves believe they were invincible, though many would die, paying the price for any battlefield victory, a soldier's blood.

"You heard The General! Let's GO!" he said. Jon took one step and then another as he beat back the fear inside himself, and then his soldiers followed, each winning their own personal victory over fear. The steady rhythm of marching footsteps began to sound across the entire army as they moved forward, beginning their assault.

The 12th Infantry Regiment led the advance, engaging as soon as they were met with enemies.

Asher couldn’t help the nerves that bubbled up within him - manifesting in the twitched and cracking of his typically stoic expression. He’d fought Sith before, and he’d fought Kilik’s. But Dathomir and it’s daughters were something else entirely. The voice of Renfry howling through the jungle caused the color to drain from his expression.

But there were other voices in the forest. Louder, passionate and familiar. Those that belonged to his brothers in arms, his commanding officers and subordinates on the ground. They’d all stepped foot on Dathomir together, relying upon one another to survive. He heard the chants and orders from the General.

“Yes sir!” Were the only words spoken in response.

He felt the fear once again - pumping through his veins and causing his feet to go cold. But he pressed on anyway. He pressed on for the people relying on him to do his job. He pressed on for the Empire he loved and served. He pressed on for the family waiting for him back on Raxus, and pictured their faces illuminated above any horrific abomination waiting for him in the jungle.

It was his own victory over the fear - enough to make that first push past the landing ground. Equipped with his rifle, Asher took up the flank of the advancing Regiment, switching on the vision HUD built into his helmet. Whatever was waiting for him, Asher hoped that the scout HUD would alert him of it before arrows started flying between the trees.

Wiley could not help but look over the Grand Marshal’s shoulder. Only his eyes glanced and saw the background of his phone briefly. The man’s eyes looked towards his superior a bit closer and listened to as much of the conversation with the leader of the enemies. The same woman they were here for and was probably one of the scariest people Wiley had ever met. Some people called her Renfry, but she was Darth Andruil, Queen of Dathomir and retired Empress of the Sith Empire. He would just as soon smack another Imperial for doubting the woman’s capabilities.

He could not help but share Altair’s outlook and thought his offer was honorable. It was more than what some people got. But this was going to be a difficult operation. The Ossein had heard plenty of rumors about the necromantic witches even before his time as a Sith. His hair continued to stand on end since the moment he had broken through the world’s upper atmosphere. He felt it in his bones that this place wanted him and his kind dead.

When addressed, the Knight-Captain gave a nod of his emotionless helmet followed with an “Aye-aye, sir.” Turning from the Grand-Marshal, he began issuing orders towards the Imperial Knights inside. The Command Shuttle held an additional four Knights waiting inside. The two that had followed Wiley to the meeting point were told to remain with the Grand-Marshal and join his personal honor guard until told otherwise by the Knight-Captain or Altair himself.

That left two Knights guarding the command shuttle’s embarkation ramp, along with the four knights inside. He half expected Aadya, Ailis, and Astrid to all remain as the Grand-Marshal’s harem-guard. Could have called them the A team. Ge half chuckled to his sense of humor between ordering a pair of knights to guard the aforementioned A-team. As the ex-Jazaq was directing the pilot of the command shuttle for coordinates on the cursed world, Altair had a change of heart.

“Aye-aye.”

Wiley heard the green light and could not help but crack a hidden grin. The Grand Marshal only required one volunteer and Ailis jumped at the chance. The Knight-Captain cleared his throat and waved for the other two Knights to hurry up and board their ships or join him on his shuttle. (@Arcangel )

The Imperial Knights and their respective ships would take to the crimson skies. “Listen up. Ignore these witches' illusions and tell me…” He said over the shared encrypted commlink with his Knights whilst still holding the zabrak skull in one hand. “...search your feelings, are you all feeling lucky or are you feeling dangerous?” He waited for their answer as the engines of his ship accelerated. The command shuttle would take the lead and head towards the Singing Mountain Clan.

Regardless of the answers, the man was intent on carrying out his new orders all the same and pull on his previous orders for inspiration. Coordinates for the Frenzied River and the Misty Falls were shared between the ships in formation. Each location was relatively close in terms of a ship's flight. They could split up and each take on clan of Nightsisters or they could stick in larger numbers and take them on one by one. They had time to decide while they flew. "Watch out for members of the Witchblood Clan. They could be anywhere." He said without exaggeration. (@Wit )
