We get trapped in system we lose two, new, unmarked ships with skeleton crews. Acceptable losses.

I thought the strike team was going to be much bigger, but okay.

No need, really. We have two ships with skeleton crews, with Alskan transponder codes. Once in systems they send a distress signal, telling of a reactor leak, whilst preparing for a hyperspace jump away from Alsakan. As the distress signal is sent the lifeboats, packed full of nuclear explosives, are launched down towards the planet's surface, and the ships are listed as floating dead in space. As they enter the atmosphere (the Alsakans won't fire on civillians fleeing a ship) the two ships switch back on and escape, just as the nukes detonate.

And if the two ships are left in system, I can hardly see us needing any more than a crew of about 5 people in each (Navigations Officer, Flight Control officer, Maintenance Officer, Bomb launch coordinator and CO)

This. We would be in and out before the Alsakans could really do anything. That, or we loose a handful of low-ranking pilots and support crew.

Even if the ships are shot down before they can touch ground because of their religious reasoning, the massive fallout will taint the atmosphere for centuries to come. Also, they wouldn't have anything to keep the planet clean, as they have no reason to.

And Ols, it would be more then five. Even a Skeleton Crew is rather large on big ships.

To be honest, the ships aren't going to be supercarriers.

We need a bridge crew, the minimum amount of people needed to get that ship there and back. Anyone extra is an unecessary risk. No weapons officers needed, no maintenance crews, no doctors, no backup crews. Just the bare minimum.

Also, I am in liasons with Kupo about what he can supply us. I assume money is in supply?

No, we expect him to do this out of a sense of honour. Of course money will be involved, a substantial amount.

So I should explain to him the context, to evoke his...honourable side.

By the way, how much have I got to work with?

The Republic has enough money, it's not going to miss it.

Oh okay. And also, we can provide the Alsakan transpodners for him to fit, I assume?

That may be an issue. As I have no idea what a transponder is.

That may be an issue. As I have no idea what a transponder is.

It's the code and name of the ship, that identify what it is, where it's from and who it belongs to.

Ie: The Millenium Falcon's Transponder ID would be registered to Han Solo, a "merchant" from Corellia, previously under the ownership of Lando Calrissian etc.

Basically like a Vehicle registration, but yielding more information to docking authorities.

So when the Alsakan's look up the transponder IDs in their databases, rather than being 2 Republic vessels, or even 2 independent vessels, they are 2 private Alsakan vessels (so they'll want to rescue the civs more, suspect them less)

Oh. I dunno how we'd acquire one of those.

We don't need to. I didn't even mention the Alsakan's to Kupo, but he gave us something perfect. Here's what I've got:

- A medium to large sized ship. Normally run with a full crew of 150, and operable with a skeleton crew of around 50, advanced Arc prototypes allow these ship to operate with a crew of 20.

- With a number of weapons stations and living quarters removed an extra 20 escape pods have been added, giving about 50 in total (and each can carry five full grown men comfortably)

- The advanced computer is capable of generating false civilian transponder codes, and providing full histories for them. It's also capable of 'ripping' transponder codes; that is, stealing the code of a ship that it comes into contact with. So we come into contact with an Alsakan freighter or pleasure yacht, we have a perfect one. And we don't even need to reveal ourselves, just ping it with a transmission and hey presto, done. Failing that, we could be well know merchant trader ships, civillian operated.

- There are 2 of them. One will be fitted with Arc's most advanced AI computer and advanced shielding tech, but we will not be informed and this is at no extra cost. Kupo just wants an easy field test. The results will be sent to arc via untraceable transmission, but he has no control over the ships.

Sound good?

Sounds great.

Man I'm excited now!

As am I. So now the nitty gritty is sorted out, what about the major details. I take it Nexus shall RP as the 40 crewmen? I mean, how shall it be done.

It's going to be tough... Perhaps get someone we trust to RP it. To make it seem legit...

No. Some third party. If not, I suppose I can RP it myself.
