DESCRIPTION
The AT-DT, known formally as the All-Terrain Defense Turret, is a light combat walker manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards, and originally developed for the Galactic Empire. Essentially a self-propelled artillery piece nominally based on the AT-ST chassis, the AT-DT was used primarily by the Imperial Army, and though it was not as heavily armored as its reconnaissance brethren, it did pack a lot of firepower, and was reasonably effective at its task of blunting massed assaults against dug-in Imperial positions.

The AT-DT stands 9.11 meters in height, and is topped with what is essentially an artillery barbette, containing a heavy laser cannon and a pair of medium blaster cannons. This is protected by a semi-sloped front armor shield, as well as additional armor on the sides, although the top and back are completely open, making the AT-DT particularly vulnerable to aerial attack, and to infantry who might be able encircle it. The crew consists of a single individual who functions as both driver and gunner, a shortcoming that means this individual is often overworked, as they must split their attention between monitoring the energy levels of the weapons, safely piloting the walker and keeping an eye out for enemy forces they must engage or avoid.

Despite its shortcomings, the AT-DT is a powerful weapons system, and was used to good effect in many of the Empire's various wars. After the Galactic Civil War, however, most AT-DTs were retired from service, although not a small number wound up on the black market afterward. They are not exactly common in the present day, but can still be found in service on various worlds, to various different organizations.

LEGALITY
Restricted. The AT-DT is indisputably a military vehicle. Civilian ownership is heavily regulated on most worlds.

INTENT
To bring a vehicle from Canon into our site's fanon.

RESTRICTIONS
AT-DTs are powerful military vehicles, with sturdy construction and enough firepower to decimate whole squads of infantry and even heavy vehicles. They are thus limited to being faction assets, and are not available for individual ownership.
