DESCRIPTION​

The AT-DP, known formally as the All-Terrain Defense Pod, was a light combat walker manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards and originally developed for the Galactic Empire. The direct predecessor of the more widely used AT-ST, the AT-DP was not equipped with its successor's more varied arsenal, but was was equipped with a single, seriously nasty heavy laser cannon, capable of destroying armored vehicles and shredding infantry. Being even taller than the AT-ST, the AT-DP arguably had a greater psychological impact on the battlefield, and was thus typically deployed to worlds under heavy occupation, where its presence would help to terrify unruly populations into submission.

After the Galactic Civil War, the AT-DP was largely removed from service, and is thus a fairly rare sight in the present day. The type can still be found on some backrocket worlds, and examples have occasionally surfaced on the black market.

LEGALITY​

Restricted. The AT-DP is indisputably a military vehicle. Civilian ownership is heavily regulated on most worlds.

AT-DPs are powerful military vehicles, with sturdy construction and enough firepower to decimate whole squads of infantry and even heavy vehicles. They are thus limited to being faction assets, and are not available for individual ownership.
