Much like Trace, Anai didn't realize the sith master had been left behind until it was a bit too late. Was he attacked by the wicked creature all on his own? Would he be able to fend it off alone? The Kaleesh champion didn't know, but she was certainly worried about Draugr. Sure, she may not be close to him, but it would leave a bitter taste on her mouth if one of the most important sith masters of the empire died here and now because they had left him behind.

"Master Draugr, how far behind are you? Do you need assistance?" Anai asked through the commlink, hoping it would be able to reach him "Trace is getting the ship ready, you must hurry up!" The Kaleesh added, her eyes looking at Trace and the jedi with uncertainty, not knowing what she should do. Should she wait and stay here, the safer option, or go back and try to help Draugr? She didn't want to leave him on his own, but she didn't want to be left behind either...She hoped the two of them would give her some counsel.

Ran away alongside Trace but didn't realize they had left Draugr behind so she's thinking about going back for him.

There wasn't really much of a choice for them, the way Wax saw there was only one choice. So as Kharn opened the hangar doors he turned to Veer and pulled out his comm and opened up a local channel with Maura and Taz, and pulled Veer into it.

"I'm sure Taz will be fine, he'd want you to focus on getting out as well. The other guy who was with us, he had a ship," he gave Veer a look as she continued speaking to Maura, "so you don't need to wait. He does have some useful info about what's going on here, so try to get that to the Council if you can."

With that he shut the comm and returned it to his pocket, and began moving towards the station. "I've got this covered," he gave Veer a glance over his shoulder and nodded towards the exit, "better get a step on. Make sure you tell the Jedi about what was going on here, we don't want repeats of this crap."

With that he stepped up to Kharn. "So, where are these keys?"

Taz was almost entirely out of it after taking such a heavy bash to the face. He half stumbled, wiping his eyes so he could see through his own blood. His nose was still bleeding and cracked, and he didn’t know where a few of his teeth were. He was certain one of his fangs were cracked and that sent a jolt of remorse through him. He was leaning against Trace for support, attempting to keep from passing out. Thankfully, he had a moment of reprieve during their run to bolster himself with the Force and keep from collapsing.

The Jedi blinked and looked at the room they arrived in, spotting it entirely empty. He felt nothing but the eerie darkness all around. Taz began to reach for his comlink, speaking into it without realizing he passed by where Maura was hiding, “Wax? Quin? Come in. Where are you?” His nasally voice came in between his whistle breathing.

As they stumbled towards the hangar, he spotted the Drow, the man from earlier. Tazlen eyed him suspiciously, “Where are the two others that were with you?”

In that moment, Veer wanted nothing more than to put a blaster bolt between Kharn’s eyes. The man was responsible for all of the horrifying bullshit that had taken place on the Station - the threat it now posed to the rest of the Galaxy - and it was going to take one of their lives to clean up his mess. The Axxilan grit his teeth, fingers curling a bit tighter around his pistol.

His gaze only flicked away from Kharn when Wax spoke up - volunteering himself to turn the second key. The Axxilan wasn’t particularly keen on self-sacrifice, and wasn’t about to argue with the Jedi’s decision. Of course, that didn’t mean Veer felt particularly good about it either.

Veer nodded ever-so-slightly when Wax made mention of his own ship. If nothing else, the Axxilan would ensure that the surviving Jedi would have transport off the station before it exploded - he owned the man that much. He reached a hand towards, clasping Wax’s shoulder. “I’ll make sure they know,” Veer said, giving Wax’s shoulder a squeeze. “No one will forget what you did here.” It wasn’t much of a comfort, the Axxilan knew - but the survivors of the Station would know exactly what Waxillium had sacrificed to ensure both their escape, and the safety of the Galaxy as a whole.

Gritting his teeth, the Axxilan didn’t hesitate to turn in a heel - immediately starting to make his way back towards the hangar. Assuming it was still functional, Veer would take the elevator as the quickest route down.

Draugr

The blaster shots from Draugr would slam into the creature as it made not even the slightest attempt to evade them. If the Sith was watching, he would probably find it slightly unnerving that the hot bolts of plasma seemed to simply dissipate into the creature, leaving behind only the smell of burnt ozone as they seemingly had no effect on it.

Instead of continuing its assault against the Zabrak, the beast would instead stop, its attention drawn to a nearby pipe that had been damaged, leaving its insides exposed.

Stretching its form, the monster would glorp and slink into the pipe, until its entire form was inside of it flowing down its length. It could move much faster this way, and with its senses focused on Draugr, it would follow him wherever he was going.

The Sith would eventually make his way through the tunnels and as far as he was aware, do so alone. After a few minutes, Draugr would find himself back in the central room, the visage of the Drow lashing out at Tazlen, wings growing from its back.

Sith + Jedi + Not!Drow

As the Drow moved further into the center room, It was met with numerous faces but not the one It was looking for. NotDrow’s face would twist into an emotion that could at best be described as.. Conragefusion.

The Drow would point one of its thick taloned fingers at Tazlen and ask the same question it had asked Quin just a few moments prior.

Where is Maura?

Its voice would be shaky and hoarse, though clearly laced with a growing anger. The Drow’s question was drenched in malevolence, and even in his face-smashed-in-state, it would strike Tazlen as extremely unnerving.

Tell me now.

A shimmer of the darkside would pulse within the Drow’s eyes, its frustration becoming quite clear and abundant. Its patience wearing thin, the Drow would lash out with the force, like it was wielding a whip in its hand.

It would crack through the air, aiming to slam into Tazlen straight in his chest. The dark, shadow-like wings of the Drow’s true form would erupt from Its back, spreading wide and it snarled at all of those gathered in the central room, its eyes frantically searching for the one it so desperately wanted to find.

As if sensing something, a sickly grin would spread across the Drow's face as a low growl rumbled in its throat. On the other side of the room, maybe ten meters behind Maura, the monster that had been chasing Draugr began to drip from the ceiling, its form slowly coalescing into substance on the floor.

Veer + Wax

Kharn said little as Wax made his decision. He eyed the other man with suspicion, unsure if the soldier was simply going to kill him anyway for the situation he had put them all in to begin with.

Although, all things considered, Kharn hadn’t forced any of these people to land on the station. That had been their own choice and whether it was on a whim or some misguided attempt at altruism, it didn’t really matter at this point. The die had been cast, couldn’t take it back now.

Unfortunately, Wax’s dice had come up with snake eyes.

Come with me. Kharn said finally, motioning for Wax to follow him.

As Veer made his way back to the elevator and got inside, he would find that the button to send it back down to the main level wasn’t responding. Clearly the traumatic brain injury he’d suffered earlier had affected his short term memory, as Kharn had told him that the elevator only had enough juice for a one way trip.

Looking around, Veer would see a stairwell nearby, though he couldn’t be sure it would go all the way down to where he needed to be. The invisible ticking clock would sound off in his mind, knowing it was only a matter of time before those keys would turn and the entire station would detonate and light up the sky like the Fourth of Telona.

Of course, there was also the option of cutting the cables on the elevator car and riding it screaming down like a bat out of hell. The odds of survival were slimmer, but his route downwards would be vastly more straight forward. And if he lived, he’d for sure make it off the Station in time.

Regardless of his choice, Veer would need to decide quickly. Time simply was not on his side.

Kharn would lead Wax in the opposite direction of Veer, towards the back of the room to what looked like essentially a dumbwaiter just big enough for a couple of people. Motioning for Wax to step inside, Kharn would follow him and press the button that would send them up.

Unlike the main elevator Veer was tangling with, this dumbwaiter was operated without technology, purely mechanical. A safeguard in case of no power. Who knew it would actually be needed.

As the two of them slowly made the trip upward, Kharn would turn to Wax, a look of solemnity on his face.

Perhaps I should warn -

Before Kharn could say much else, the dumbwaiter would arrive at its destination and its door would open automatically.

In front of him, Wax would see a circular room with various technology and consoles lining its walls. In the center was a truly horrific sight, one the Jedi could have never been prepared for even if Kharn had the balls to warn him beforehand.

A metal platform led up to a man strapped into some kind of complicated metal contraption. Should he look closer, Wax would see numerous tubes going down the man’s throat, his eyes pulled eternally open, a look of absolute agony and pain the only emotion on his face.

Kharn said nothing, but the look of shame upon his face would tell Wax that he was looking at the man’s brother, the source of all of the terrible things occurring on the Station.

Walking over to one of the consoles, Kharn would point to another that was nearly around eight meters from where he stood.

I’m sorry. He managed to murmur, an apology to no one in particular as Kharn’s eyes were cast firmly onto the floor.

With Wax and Kharn behind him, Veer didn’t hesitate to begin hauling-ass towards the hangar. There was no saving the Jedi from his own sacrifice, and there was no time to mourn the man quite yet. All of his energy was dedicated to rushing towards the elevator, only to discover that the button to bring it down wasn’t responding. Perhaps he’d glazed over that big of information from Kharn, but he cursed under his breath all the same.

Veer’s gaze flicked between the stairwell and the cables hoisting up the elevator cart. He knew that cutting the elevator was risky - but it guaranteed reaching the hangar, with enough time to get off the station. The stairwell? He had no idea where they went, if they were blocked off, or if there were additional creepies lurking.

Exhaling through his nostrils, Veer holstered his pistol and instead drew the vibroblade from his hip - activating the buzzing edge. With a single clean stroke, Veer cut through the supporting elevator cables, freeing the cart to begin its free-fall descent towards the hangar - some two stories or so below. The Axxilan’s plan to ride the elevator was made with the knowledge that most elevators had failsafes along the track, which would slow his fall at least somewhat.

Except for this one, apparently.

The entire cart began to drop at high speeds - causing Veer to rock violently within the cart. Desperately, the Axxilan started pushing buttons within the cart as it fell, attempting to do something that might slow it down. Naturally, just like every other button in the elevator, it didn’t work.

By the time started Veer approaching the ground, Tazlen and anyone else with good hearing would be able to hear the Axxilan’s screams - accompanied by the metallic screeching of the elevator. He braced himself against the back of the cart, as if that would somehow save him from the inevitable.

Regardless of how his allies reacted, Veer and the elevator cart collided with the ground split-moment later - coming to an abrupt halt with a thunderous crash. While the elevator cart itself remained within the shaft and was largely intact, the same couldn’t be said for its sole passenger. The Axxilan was thrown violently within the cart - the force of the impact traveling up his legs and snapping both his knees and femur at awkward, excruciating angles.

His screams amplified to fill the entire chamber as the Axxilan slumped to the side, grasping at his shattered legs. For the moment, he was largely unaware of anything going on around him.

He could hear the elevator careening down. Was someone inside that?! He started to gather the Force in an effort to slow the descent. However, that was when the man before him started acting weird and lashed out.

Tazlen’s blood ran cold when the man began to ask about Maura. There was something very off about this guy and that became clear when its face contorted and it pointed a disfigured claw. Before Taz could do anything, the creature lashed out towards him. The woman propping him up was a Sith, and he fully expected her to drop him and engage the thing since the claw was coming at them both. Before she could do that, Taz grabbed her and jerked her backwards, both of them missing the claw strike by an inch.

“WAIT!” Taz shouted, likely confusing the Sith around him. He tightened his grip on Trace’s wrist to strongly hint at her to not do anything right then. He wasn’t the type to jump to combat at first chance, especially when he knew he was horribly disadvantaged, “Maura went that way,” Taz said as he pointed back the way the Sith emerged, “There’s a tunnel system back there and we all got separated,” It was the only direction he knew Maura hadn’t gone, so he figured it was a safe guess to divulge. There was nothing in Taz’s tone that suggested he was lying. He had been training up for diplomacy ever since his successes with Ailon. Besides, his face was too damn bloody to really make out expressions.

Trace wasn't sure what was up with this weird Jedi, but he was giving her all kinds of bad vibes. When he lashed out at Tazlen, Trace was about to leap into action, saber flicking up as she started to look for her opening.

She was yanked back and narrowly kept from having her face ripped open.

It was only as Mr. Meatshield yelled to stop, that caused her to pause for a split second. She had half a mind to keep attacking anyway, but she quickly figured out what he was doing. Smart, she thought to herself.

She noticed the smoothy way he lied, and she didn't actually say anything. Despite being trained in intelligence and reconnaissance, she didn't want to press her luck in the lying department. Besides, if this thing didn't buy it, she was going to have to get into the fight real quick.

As Draugr made it back to the room, it had seemed the group was dealing with just as many problems here. Looking around he would notice both Trace and Anai, of whom had left him for dead. He didn't hold a grudge over it as he would have done the same if he were as scared as they were, but it was vastly annoying when it happened. The Monster he had to fight didn't die, he only knew that much, luckily it wasn't right behind him as he made his way back.

Seeing the rest of the group he noticed two were missing, IG-101 as he was confirmed dead and the colorful child. It seemed the Ishi Tib was here, but he was not acting right.. or well.. Jedi. The Zabrak had noticed the vibe of the room, and what was going on, so he would stand back by Anai with his saber in hand and his eyes scanning the room and the Not!Drow preparing for any sort of ambush.

"What did I miss?" He would ask Anai and keep his guard up. This place was far worse than Killiks. The Dathomirian almost preferred the bugs over these disgusting abominations.

The Joker + The Thief

There was more than a lot riding on Tazlen's unorthodox attempt at saving everyone's lives. If you would ask most people if they would put their lives in the hands of a Jedi's ability to lie you'd probably get laughed right off the street. It just seemed so counter intuitive that those who fought for the name of peace, justice and the Amaranian way would be able to turn to outright deception in their time of need.

Though, when it came right down to it, what was a proper diplomat if not a very skillful liar?

TheDrow eyed Tazlen with an immense level of suspicion, its inky black eyes narrowing to the slimmest of snake-like slits. It was silent for several moments that would each feel like ten lifetimes to those gathered in the room. TheDrow's dark, shadowy wings beat softly behind it as the monster contemplated the words that the Jedi spoke.

If it weren't for the monster's intrinsic, obsessive nature, Tazlen's hail mary play probably wouldn't have worked. Not to mention, even a being as powerful as NotDrow knew that taking on a fight against such a vast number of enemies wasn't exactly in its favor. Not when it could be avoided and his quarry was so close to finally being in its grasp.. if the Jedi's words could be trusted, that is.

Whether it was luck or the force, no one would ever know, but NotDrow would eventually simply nod its head at the beaten and bloody Jedi before making its way towards the maintenance tunnels, quietly whistling a tune as it disappeared from sight.

Meanwhile, the creature from the banshee birthing chamber continued to come into being, nearly down fully coalescing into its form and full power.

The path before them was clear now. Only a couple dozen meters between the group and their salvation. If they were going to go, they needed to do its swiftly and without hesitation.

Their window was closing ever tighter with every second as Wax and Kharn held their fingers on the trigger.

“Drow is headed your way, but something about him feels… different. He’s looking for you."

Quin's voice came in through the comlink - barely above a whisper in Maura's ears - and she felt her blood run cold. Her skin, clammy and paled, shivered as a bead of sweat rolled down the side of the padawan's face and ran along the length of her jaw. Drow was alive? It should've filled her with joy to know her decision to leave him behind wasn't the death of him, but with the feeling in the air... she wasn't sure if she could believe that.

A mountainous chorus of footsteps began to echo far off in the hall, growing louder and louder as the Sith made their way into the center room. She heard two voices she didn't recognize, and then - "Taz!"

Maura hesitated to pop her head out, and it likely saved her neck. A voice clawed its way into the stale air, raspy like an old man with asthma and shrill like broken nails scratching against a chalkboard. It alone sent chills down her spine, but the mention of her name freaked her out even more. "Where is Maura?"

That wasn't the Ishi Tib.

The Ishi Tib didn't sound like that. But that thing? That abomination of the Force? The creature she'd abandoned Drow down there with?

Before the girl could continue any further into her spiraling thoughts, there was the sound of a whip cracking in the air, followed by Taz's tired shout. Maura held her breath, listened carefully, and felt her heartbeat thumping louder and louder, faster and faster...

It was gone. <Quin, start the ship!> (@Sicadorito) She waited until its footsteps stopped echoing its quiet stomps, then vaulted out from behind her hiding spot. The sudden movement and appearance of a rainbow mess of hair would surely catch the attention of the room's occupants (@Scoobert @Phoenix @Versok @Sreeya). Her nose looked askew and there was blood and bruising over half her face, but that seemed to be a common factor among them.

What was most interesting about the padawan's appearance was the black ooze coalescing into an abominable creature behind her.

A creature Maura had not noticed and was therefore not thinking about.

The padawan made a beeline for Tazlen. "We have to leave, now," she said, her voice shaky, hoarse, and barely above a whisper. She didn't want to run the chance of the not!Drow hearing her and coming back. It was very clear the padawan was trying to maintain her composure.

Maura slipped her arm under his shoulder and would then attempt to help the Jedi knight back toward their ship as quickly as she could, ignoring any sounds of chaos or fighting that might occur behind her and only increasing her pace if so. Hopefully, Quin had gotten the ship started. "Wax said we had to leave now," she added, hoping to give herself any more credibility.

However, if Tazlen insisted they help Veer, the padawan would not hesitate to assist the Jedi knight in dragging the crippled man back with them. If need be, she would attempt to take the load by herself, using the last bit of strength she had to haul him as quickly as possible, ignoring any cries of pain the man had.

- Maura speaks to Quin on comms and vaults out from behind her hiding spot as soon as she's sure Drow is gone.

- She then makes a beeline for Tazlen and tries to help him back.

- If Tazlen tries to help Veer, she will help too and attempt to drag him back like a ragdoll as fast as she can.

Anai's eyes had widened for a moment as the jedi was once again attacked, this time by the strange Not!Drow, she almost felt sorry for Taz as he became everyone's punching bag. But even if Taz hadn't been attacked, it didn't take a genious to notice that Drow was acting awfully strange. Her hand tightened around her lightsaber as she heard Taz talk and expected another fight, but instead the strange Drow listened, walking through the maintenance path and away from them.

After that, the rainbow colored jedi appeared out of nowhere, trying to carry Taz out. The fact that she was hiding had Anai arrive to the conclusion that she was Maura, which meant that the other jedi obviously lied, so they had to get out of here before it realized. What Anai also noticed, however, was the big creature forming behind Maura.

Eyes widened and suddenly back to fight or flight mode, Anai quickly decided to choose the latter "To the ship, now!" Anai said before booking it, knowing that none of the sith were seriously injured and needed to be carried the jedi (and the man inside a falling elevator) would be put inbetween them and that creature in no time. The Kaleesh, however, would also ensure to not get to the ship without any of the two sith, she may had left behind Draugr before, but she would not do so again, the first time was an honest mistake, the second one would be cowardice and probably punished should Draugr still be alive by the end of this.

Booking it but making sure to not leave any sith behind this time, she'll stop if Trace or Draugr are stopped.

Trace watched as The Drow made its way out of the room, and even after it did, the muscles in her body didn't relax. She could still hear the shrieking of the man from inside the elevator, and she finally let herself take in her surroundings in full.

The other Sith were here, they were at the hangar, she'd almost paid off her debt to this Jedi who saved her life, but there was still one obstacle left.

She made no comment as she made her way over to the elevator. She could make out the man inside, his injuries, precisely where he was. There was no way time to cut him out. There was no way to fix him, and leaving him here to die was a cruelty in its own way.

And she still had a debt to pay. The idiot Meatshield would try to cut him out, the creature would come back, and they'd both be killed. Her Accounting wouldn't allow it.

She knelt down as if to begin cutting him out, but without warning, things took a different turn. Her Force Sight told her where he was and she thrust her saber through the door, piercing the metal and directly through into the man's brain beyond.

The screaming would stop, he would have no warning, and he would have no slow, agonizing death. And no one would die trying to save him.

It was Sith Accounting. A mercy killing, a life saved, and a debt paid.

He was already dead. You're welcome. Let's go, she said. The entire exchange had been only a few seconds, and there was no hesitation. With that, she would head to her ship - which was already fired up - and hopefully depart this station.

As Drow— or not-Drow— he began to realize— continued to make his way toward Maura’s position, Quin’s hand dropped down to his saber as he sped up going forward. Though he was still too far to engage directly, he could try to throw his blade to maybe create a distraction. However, the sound of another voice made him pause. Tazlen? He recognized it from earlier. Had the other Jedi betrayed them? Quin didn’t want to believe it, but it didn’t sound like he was lying.

Then came the shattering crash, and Quin’s heart leapt into his throat. Within a few seconds though, Maura’s voice would sound through his comms, asking him to start the ship. That meant she was alive. But was she hurt? That was when he caught a glimpse of her hair as she came into the hall in his direction, with Tazlen over her shoulder. Seeing that they were both clearly in need of help, Quin would heed her advice.

“I’ve got it.” Turning around, he would head back as quickly as he could despite the sharp jabs in his chest, making his way up the ramp and into the cockpit. The engine would soon hum as the lights and buttons began to light up. As soon as he saw the ship was ready to go, Quin would head back down to help Maura carry Tazlen over so they could all get out of here.

Quin starts the ship and goes down to help Maura carry Tazlen

Had it not been for the heads they had seen earlier, and everything that Wax had been feeling ever since he had arrived on the station, the sight that awaited them when he and Kharn arrived at their destination might have made him snap. The man was clearly in agony, in pain unlike anything that Wax could imagine. His hands balled into fists, and he turned to Kharn to..he had no idea what he would do, and the look on his face as Wax turned to face him stopped him short. He could see his shame, his regret. But it wasn't enough, it never was.

Nodding at the man as he mentioned the other key, he moved towards it, coming to a stop before it, eyes returning to the suspended figure. "Are you sure we can't help him? With everyone we have here, there has to be a way." He sensed the pain the man was in, and though death would be a relief from that suffering, how could he resign someone to that fate witohut at least giving something a try.

Taz exhaled a breath he didn’t know he was holding as the creepy man passed by them. That was when he spotted Maura rushing towards him. He couldn’t help but smile through the blood on his face, wrapping an arm around her to pull her into a hug, “You’re all right!” He said with a tired smile and with several teeth missing, genuinely happy to see her alive, “We leave…now..” He said as he began to hobble with her, not yet spotting the second monster.

“Quin!” He rasped as he saw the other Jedi, “Take her and go, there is one more-” He turned to look where the Sith girl from earlier went to the elevator. The Jedi’s eyes widened as he realized what she did, “No!” He cried out, his jaw dropping at the sight. Despite all the death he had seen, it never ceased to disturb him just how easily a Sith could snuff out a life without a second thought. Just how whimsically they could kill without thinking about how someone may have had family, may have had friends, may have had so many people waiting for them and hoping they would come home. And they would be left wondering.

Taz wasn’t allowed to linger on the thought much longer since Maura was practically dragging him out. Still shocked from what he witnessed, he charged towards the ship they had arrived on. He wasn’t sure where Wax was, but he knew they couldn’t allow any other delays.

Barring any other interruptions, the Jedi would quickly make for the ship to prepare for an exit. As he did so, however, he cast one last glance at the Miralukan behind him, the surprised look still on his face.

The pain was absolutely blinding.

While the elevator had taken Veer to the bottom level of the space-station.. The impact had completely shattered the Axxilan’s legs. His knees snapped and bent into awkward angles on the floor, while bone from his femur painfully jutted out and bulged the skin of his thigh. It was molten agony that radiated up through his lower body and into his back, indicating other injuries that weren’t as obvious as the broken bones.

He took in a few raspy breaths, mahogany eyes flicking around the elevator. With several fingers missing and two broken legs, Veer knew that he wasn’t getting out by himself. The Axxilan glanced down to his weapons and vambrace. Perhaps he could start to cut himself out - alert the others that he was still alive. There was Jedi amongst them, perhaps they would..

A flash of crimson silenced any such thoughts.

Veer didn’t even had time to react as the blade of plasma pierced through his left eye and through his brains - turning molten everything in its path. His body twitched and convulsed involuntarily, muscles spasming in the Axxilan’s final moments. Any ambition to fight the Empire.. To restore his family name, or repay everything that the Altaris’ had lost in service to the Sith, died in that moment.

Instead, his final thoughts were consumed by trying to ensure his survival - and the hope that perhaps the Jedi would be waiting for him on the other side of the elevator doors. That perhaps they could save him from the inevitable.

But they couldn’t.

Draugr prepared for the escape with the others. These things were more powerful than anticipated and with any luck, they'd be able to get out of the station and bomb it to hell. Rid the galaxy of this infestation once and for all. Firstly he had to actually make it to their ship. So that would be exactly what he does. Walking over to the ship with anai he would look over to notice Trace handling business with that idiot who left with the Jedi.

He hadn't a care in the world, she felt it needed to be done and if he were in her shoes he may have done the same thing. The whiny cry of worry coming from the Jedi was like nails on a chalkboard though. The kid didn't know this was how Sith rolled? Fucking idiot. Draugr would snarl as he watched Taz give a glance towards Trace, as if he were in any position to actually do something.
"Trace, let's go."

The Zabrak would make his way onto the ship and prepare for their leave. The Dathomirian would make for the exit with his passengers aboard. They'd have to come back with the firepower to blow it to hell, unless someone had set charges before they left. For now though, Draugr was alive. As a bonus the only deaths that came were a droid, a Jedi, and less than capable merc. The Sith stood tall with no deaths once again. Draugr will remember Taz, but he was an enemy once again. There will be no mercy at their next meeting.

The Survivors

Success was a funny thing. There were many paths that lead to it and perhaps infinitely more that didn't. With a single misstep or a moment's hesitation one could find themselves on the road to ruin. In fact, one could argue that the false or broken paths were the ones that people found themselves on more often than not. The galaxy was filled to the brim with failures, with "I could have been a pro Huttballer if it wasn't for my trick shin."

Suffice to say, when it came right down to it, success seemed to be strokes of luck above anything else. Being in the right place at the right time. Leaving a trail of breadcrumbs to follow in case things didn't quite go as you thought they would. Showing up to help your mortal enemy just as the hammer was dropping because of a split second decision. Repaying that act of kindness by not leaving a hobbled man behind. Lying, when it was in your very nature to tell the truth.

And perhaps most importantly and luckiest of all - sacrificing yourself simply because it was the right thing to do.

Once everyone started to make their mad dashes towards their ships, the monster behind them would finally drip its last drop of being onto the floor and open its crimson eyes, expecting the beings in the room to tremble before it and despair. Instead, it would find nothing of the sort. Only the sound of rapidly retreating footsteps, the sight of people's backs as they raced toward their salvation.

Who knew that being overly viscous would be the creature's greatest impediment, the cause of its ultimate failure in achieving whatever it had hoped to achieve. If only theDrow had delayed them just a little bit longer..

With their ships unharmed and in some cases, already fired up and ready to go, there was little to stop those running for the hanger from finally being able to leave the nightmare of the Station behind. The monster would not be fast enough to catch them, nor strong enough to prevent their ships from leaving.

With the flipping of switches and pressing of buttons, each of the escapees would find themselves launching from the hanger, their ships firing out into the emptiness of space.

They were safe now, the memories of the creatures and this Station only living in their nightmares for the rest of their days.

The Hero

Everyone we have here? Kharn asked, shaking his head and pointing to a nearby console screen. You and I are the only ones left.

The video feed on the screen looked like some kind of security monitor showing several ships firing up and exiting the hanger. Wax would recognize them from when he'd first arrived, knowing that he was watching at least some of his friends make it out of this place alive.

If there was any way to save Urza I would have done it already, Kharn said, his voice growing impatient. This is the only way. The only way to make sure. Please, For perhaps the first time, Kharn would look Wax in the eye, and the Jedi would be able to read the genuine remorse in the man's face. Help me end this madness.

With his hand still on the key, Kharn would look to Wax and, if the Jedi chose to, would turn the key in tandem with him.

It was all up to the him now.

Success was a funny thing, especially when your success left others behind. She didn't even know their names. She might not ever, and one of them had risked his life for her and Quin. No, he gave his life to them. What did he get in return? Some ugly, abomination of undeath. Possession. Corruption. Maura would never know, but she would never forget.

It was difficult for Maura to carry Tazlen by herself, but the girl put every bit of herself into moving as quickly as she could. Her skin and bones ached, there was a throbbing pain in her still-broken nose, and she was exhausted physically but especially mentally. She felt terrible, but she kept moving forward one step at a time.

Thankfully, Quin came back to help her get Tazlen up into the ship. He wasn't that much better off than the Annfyn, but together the three of them were able to make it back onto their ship. Once Tazlen was sat, laid, or set down somewhere, the padawan leaned up against the wall, closed her eyes, and slid down to the floor. She stayed like that, motionless until the sound of the engines revving up tickled her ears.

"WAIT!" Fueled by the desire to do just one thing right, the padawan jumped up to her feet and quickly descended the ramp. She ran for one of the other ships, away from the Sith and toward one of the two lone vessels that had arrived alongside them. Veer's ship.

"Please be unlocked," she prayed under her breath. The girl sighed in relief when it was, and she darted inside. Once in, she was quick. The girl grabbed the first bag she could find and dipped. She wanted something specific, but she didn't have time to rummage around for it.

"OKAY!" Maura's voice rang out into the Jedi ship's interior as soon as her foot hit the ramp. Her foot caught a seam in the metal as she launched herself up into the ship, causing her to trip and tumble forward into the vehicle. She had half a mind to tuck and roll, but the girl instead twisted to land half on her side, half on her back, holding the stolen bag close to her chest as she hit the ground. But rather than get up, the girl just stayed on the floor of the vessel.

"I thought maybe- " Maura began to explain herself, her eyes already welling up. "Maybe I could do one thing right." Maybe the stranger - Veer - had family somewhere out there, and they would miss him and never know what happened to him. She left the Ishi Tib behind and she didn't stop to help Veer. Guilt was gnawing at her, and she felt a knot forming in her throat. "Maybe he has family someone out there... I could let them know... send them his stuff..."

The girl couldn't help the tears that ran down her bloody cheeks, but she tried to do so as quietly as possible. And even though they were finally leaving - finally going home - she felt no relief leaving this wretched place. She had too many questions and too many regrets.

tl;dr: gets bag, leaves
