The Amban phase-pulse blaster is an incredibly powerful disruptor rifle. It has been known to disintegrate it’s targets. The rifle is only able to fire a single cartridge at a time. To make up for this, they are typically equipped with two prongs on the end which can be used to electrocute an enemy who is in melee range. The rifle is capable of electrocuting, (through use of the prongs) disintegrating and shooting targets. The rifle uses a trap door single cell design. Meaning that the user has to flip up the cell’s compartment to reload the rifle, and is only capable of firing once before reloading. It sports a finished wooden stock and sidelong scope and is a good choice for a sniper and other ranger combatants.
The weapon can have varying effects on a target depending on their size or what element of the rifle one uses. The prongs on the end have the ability to electrocute a target. This works much like a stun baton, stunning the target and rendering them unconscious when directed at the head or torso. It renders limbs momentarily useless when directed at them. Armour may protect against it somewhat but after a while the continuous shocks would provide a ‘bleed-through’ and render the victim unconscious. This is of course useful in close quarters and much needed due to the rifle’s single fire capabilities.
When loaded with a cartridge, the rifle fires ionised plasma bolts which disintegrate a target upon contact, leaving them a pile of ash. This would only happen on smaller targets such as Wookiees, humans and jawas. On larger targets such as a rancor it doesn’t have as such a devastating effect. Larger targets would be capable of taking more than one shot from this rifle and depending on their size it could take many and would leave a carcass rather than a pile of ashes.
Knowledge on the rifle is quite scarce. Due to it’s illegality in many of the civilised systems it’s rarely seen or even heard of. However, the rifle has proved popular among the Mandalorian people who have been known to use it for self-defence in the out rim. Owners should be careful to not be caught using or displaying one in the core worlds, as doing so could potentially bring attention from the law.
Illegal. Disruptor weapons generally have a blanket ban on most civilised words. The Amban is no exception and is thus illegal across the FWA and republic planets. On less civilised planets there may be no such restrictions, but a user of this rifle would have to be careful and view things on a case by case basis.
The intent of this rifle is to provide a canon rifle that’s cool, stylish and which has become quite iconic since it’s introduction to Star Wars canon.
The rifle has restrictions in PVP and is largely unmodifiable. The only modifications one could do to this rifle would be to remove the electrification prongs on the end. Because of the nature of this rifle it is only to be used in PvE and never in PvP.
