Facing towards the mirror, Jaikus ran his fingers through his dark hair a few times - fixing every strand back into place. It was the faintest sigh that the Axxilan was ever-so-slightly stressed, eagerly anticipating the meeting on Nubia just ahead of them. It had been years since he had played the role of a Diplomat - not since his life as Wraith - but that was precisely what he intended to do now. He was dressed in a slim suit and tie - an Amethyst broach pinned to his lapel.
For weeks, Jaikus had watched as members of the Consortium government - his husband included - kicked into overdrive. Secessionist movements had started to appear across the Consortium, and the government had stepped in hopes of putting much of those sentiments to bed. It was a matter of paramount importance, and it meant that the Axxilan couldn’t afford to sit on the sidelines either.
His entire family was busy as a rule of thumb. In addition to his occasional lectures, the Axxilan was CEO of Atlos - a company that has grown to be mildly successful and steady on its own. His role as First Gentleman was largely ceremonial and initiative-based, where Jaikus primarily focused on pushing educational initiated in the impoverished Rim. His trip to Nubia, however, was easily the most important thing he’d done so far.
The Consortium was Emryc’s life work. It was their home - and the place where his family was raised. And Jaikus would defend it with all of his ability.
“You ready?” He called out to Tiamat somewhere else on the ship. Jaikus had asked the woman to accompany him for the negotiations, knowing her expertise would appeal to the shipyard-invested government of Nubia. More importantly, she was someone that Jaikus trusted. She had abandoned the Sith rather than fight against their family, and had firmly stated where her loyalty belonged. It was a sentiment that he didn’t take lightly, and something he had thanked Tiamat for privately.
They had their work cut out for them. But Jaikus was confident in their ability to see the negotiations through.
