Arla climbed back aboard the speeder and started off down the street again when she heard a voice echoing inside her head. She was no particular fan of telepathy for small interactions and tapped at her comlink for a moment, opening a line to Celeste to respond.

I have many reasons, she said, but before she continued, she recalled something Vahliri said about keeping a close eye on her. Like she wasn't to be trusted. Before she answered further, Arla realized she needed answers. Answers she'd planned to get before they came out here, but now was as good a time as any.

Why were you demoted? she asked in her typical, hilariously direct manner. There was no easing into it or gentle change of topic. It was why she was so terrible at diplomacy but so good at accomplishing her goals: she was excessively direct and stubborn, when her mind was set on something it was almost impossible to derail her.

Back on the speeder, thr two woman wasted no second before starting off towards their target. Instead of sticking two telepathy, Arla switched to the comlinks and Celeste didn't mind it as they were fast enough in order not be overheard by anyone else.

Arla's reply was not at all satisfying and under her mask, Celeste slightly scoffed, wondering whether this was her being brusque or whether she was not trusting her enough to reveal such potentially critical pieces of information, but Celeste didn't did deeper for now and just quietly muttered "I bet there are plenty...".

As Arla suddenly threw back another question that was now completely focusing on Celeste, the blonde raised an eyebrow at her blunt, direct approach, but in the end she couldn't blame her for being curious. Also, there was nothing Celeste had to hide from her and so she didn't bother elaborating, even if that abrupt change of topic was admittedly interesting. "I slipped away from the right path for some time because I was lying to myself. I'm currently being retrained right now while learning to enfold my full potential" she explained via the comlink, gaze directed at the street.

"The Dark Lord had assigned me to Vahliri for some time so that she could keep and eye on me... and now she was being supervised by another Champion, but that was absolutely okay since she could finally do somethimg real again. She was just hoping that Arla wasn't overly wary of her, as there was absolutely no need for caution. Her choice was final and Vahliri had seen what she was capable of and that she had absolutely meant it when she had decided to come back.

Arla listened to the woman's explanation of why the woman had been demoted, and turned it over in her mind for a moment. She couldn't imagine betraying her people, but it seemed she was paying the price for it.

But if Raze was involved that was... serious business. And if Vahliri had been assigned to the woman's retraining, she didn't envy her. Vahliri was one of Arla's best friends in the Sith, but she wasn't a woman that was particularly understanding or sympathetic. She could only imagine what Celeste had been contending with.

Hm, that explains a lot, she said simply and factually. She didn't seem disturbed by it, but she did take a mental note to keep a close eye on her. It also explained why she had skills that surpassed what she'd expect from an Acolyte.

What garnered the attention of the Dark Lord? she asked. It was the part that seemed to stick out to her. Plenty of traitors were dealt with by the ISB, the Inquisition, or just plain old members of the Order. She wondered what had transpired that brought the Dark Lord into the equation. There was something that hadn't added up yet for Arla.

Celeste was a little surpised that Arla seemed hooked enough to ask her for an explanation, but then the first things she answered sounded as though she didn't need any more elaboration and that this conversation was already over.

Perhaps that was enough for her to be satisfied for now, but right when Celeste had shifted her whole attention back to the road, another question resounded through the comlink, posing an even more interesting question. So she was still curious after all.

Admittedly, her road had been more than rocky as Vahliri had treated her harshly at first, but definitely fairly and well, what Raze had made her do on Raxus had been far from pleasant, but she was working her way through penance and quite some time had passed since then. Things were improving, but her ambitions were high and there was still a long road ahead of her.

She couldn't blame her for wanting an answer to that question as this was surely an interesting topic since the Dark Lord wasn't exactly known for being understanding and merciful, but while he had made her pay, he had also given her a new chance to prove herself. "He saw my potential". He had rummaged through her mind, he had seen everything she had ever been and perhaps even everything she'd ever be and he had allowed her to get back on track. He had tested her by bringing her to Endor, and she hadn't disappointed. Her commitment was honest.

There was still one question she couldn't answer and that was the one about how he had found her in the hospital, when she had been at her lowest. It was as if he had lured in the darkness, waiting for his moment to strike. She was indeed overly grateful that he had found her, and there was no way she'd ever make him regret this choice, yet she knew that there were voices within the Order who didn't think so highly of him as she did, and she had no idea what Arla's standing was in that case, which made her curious. "Have you ever met the Dark Lord in person?" she wanted to know out of genuine curiosity.

Arla shook her head though she realized that on separate speeder bikes that wasn't actually communicating anything.

No, I mean, how did he even know who you were, she said. Sure, maybe he saw her potential, but that required him to see her. He wasn't known for meeting Acolytes or even Champions, which meant there had to be something that brought them both to the same place. Something that caused her name to "come across his desk" so to speak.

No, I haven't, she said simply. She had no idea that he was her father or his involvement with her Mother in days gone past.

Arla's speeder slowed to a stop as they arrived at the building in question and she looked up at it, letting out a quiet hmm, as her eyes swept down the building and to the front entrance.

If I can get line of sight into an empty room, I can probably get us inside, she said, eyes flicking over to one of the other buildings adjacent that might be easier to access. Or, of course, they could always just mind trick the guards out front. Probably easier to be honest.

Arla didn't seem satisfied but the next question she posed was even more interesting indeed. "Well..." Celeste began, however knowing that she couldn't even answer that question for herself. "Actually, I'm still curious about that too. He was right there at the right moment. I'm not quite sure how he found me or why" she truthfully replied, her thoughts once again starting to run through different scenarios, but there were plenty of questionmarks still in her head and it was rather unlikely that she'd find answers in the near future. Perhaps if they'd ever meet again she could even ask...but that was a question for later.

For now, they were already arriving at their destination and so Celeste slowed down just like Arla and pulled over right next to her. Celeste climbed off the bike and smoothed down her uniform before her gaze flicked right towards the entrance where two guards were positioned. "We can try our luck in the building across from our target, or we simply deal with them" she suggested as she jutted her chin towards the guards. "That grey buildings looks rather vacant, but we could also just have some fun with those two". Mind tricks were her Forte and so she was absolutely down to take the easiest, most direct past, but Arla would definitely have the final call and so she expectantly glanced up to her.

Hm, weird, was all she said in response to the answer. It wasn't really a satisfying answer, but it seemed to be the only one available. Fortunately for Arla, she wasn't one to linger on thoughts she couldn't control for long.

Arla's eyes flicked from the guards to the other building, weighing the best path to take. If they were already planning to mind trick the guards accompanying the Governor tonight, she didn't want to draw any more undue attention to people mysteriously neglecting their duties.

Let's get in through the other building. I can teleport us into our target building and we can find a place to hide and wait him out, she said.

She dismounted her vehicle and started heading into the adjacent building, taking the stairs up to the second floor. While it was another office building as well, it had less security and clearances to ascend than the other.

She maneuvered them into a position where she could see across into the other building and then motioned for Celeste to come over before grabbing a small, personal garbage can.

Here, vomit into this, not on me, she said, handing it to Celeste. Without warning, she wrapped her arms around the other woman and focused on the Shadow, invoking the spirits and letting them both be consumed in green "flame." It was a single step for Arla, but it sent them through the Spirit world, and when the "flame" vanished, they were now in the office across the alley.

While Arla had long ago grown accustomed to it, most people who teleported for the first time found themselves quite nauseous. Arla immediately released Celeste and stepped back to avoid any vomiting that might happen, fully prepared to use the Shadow's power to protect herself from the splash.

Celeste wasn't sure about how much curiosity remained in the woman, but she suddenly changed topics as they had arrived anyway and their attention was obviously needed elsewhere. Studying the guards, Celeste was convinced that tricking them wouldn't be too difficult, however it would still be risky to mess with them.

Arla, however, decided against the mind tricking plan anyway and Celeste simply nodded before she starting following the woman. She wasn't quite sure what Arla had in mind, but trusted her and didn't ask any questions because of that. Passing the guards wasn't too tricky either and so the two women soon found themselves in an office space.

She was confused about the garbage can, and grabbed it confusedly, an eyebrow critically raised while she tilted her head. "I-...wait what?" she asked, while a weird feeling was triggered in the pit of her stomach. "Arla what-" she started again, but was immediately cut off but the arms that were being wrapped around her.

Well...and then it dawned her. Teleportation. She had read about that, but she had absolutely never done that before and so despite usually having a rather robust stomach, a wave of heavy nausea washed over her when they suddenly vanished into the flame. Just a second later, the two women reappeared in a room in their target building and the nausea was immediately joined by a severe dizziness that hit her all of a sudden.

Now that all felt like how it had been when she had experienced the early stages of pregnancy, but the symptoms had hit her from 0 to 100. Hugging that garbage can, she forced herself to breathe deeply while she blinked a couple of times, stumbling towards the nearest wall. "I'm...fine" she insisted, but she obviously wasn't. She felt like her stomach was wanting to turn itself inside out, but because she hadn't eaten in hours, it also felt like nothing was coming up.

She desperately forced herself to focus on other thoughts and was imagining a wide, green forest, but her body was protesting against the previous experiences. There was, however, absolutely no way to avert the disaster and so she started throwing up right in the can. "Maybe...a heads up in advance would have been better" she said to her after the bile was out. She felt terrible, but she knew she had to press on. She staggered over to the kitchen counter that was luckily in the room and swallowed some tap water to freshen up. The color had left her face, and her throat was burning from the acid, but she couldn't deny that this waybof transportation was rather convenient, apart from the symptoms that followed..."Sorry...we shouldn't waste any time". They had to get back on track asap.

Arla didn't rush her through her vomiting, and just kind of stood there watching her for a moment.

I did warn you. I warned you not to throw up on me, she objected as Celeste said she wanted some warning.

Besides, all the warning in the world wouldn't have helped... probably, she said. Actually, she'd never given anyone an opportunity to try some sort of Control-based body meditation. She wondered if that worked? Well, either way, it was done now.

Might want to clean that up, she said, motioning to the vomit. It's technically evidence, she said.

Whether she opted to clean up or not, Arla would press on after a few moments, heading to the room the meeting was supposed to take place in. They only had an hour or so now, and the sun was beginning to set in the distance.

Maybe the vents, she said, pointing to the ventilation system up in the corner of the room where they could each slip into to hide. It wouldn't be the most comfortable, but it would do.

Any thoughts how to get him alone initially? To command him to send his guards away, she said.

Celeste glared up from the sink, her expression obviously not amused before she washed her face. "Are you...I" she didn't even know what to say. YES she had said that, but had it made any sense? NO. "Without any context, those words of warning were...not too helpful" she shook her head, a smirk crossing her face though. Also, the warning had come and not a second later they had vanished into thin air and while re-materializing, her stomach had been extremely upset with that interesting, yet effective means of transport.

"Yeah well...you might have a point there" she admitted in the end, doubting that another minute would have changed anything, but it didn't matter now anyway. She was still a bit queasy, but it was getting better. She nodded as she mentioned the 'evidence' and quickly flushed out the garbage can before she went after her.

She moved carefully and stayed attentive, however it seemed like for now the place was rather desolate. She was dearly hoping that they would be here later on and that there wouldn't be any unforeseen twists or whatsoever. "Vents are a great idea" she agreed, glancing up at them before she pondered on her question for a moment. "Easiest we could do is mindtrick him into having to use the restroom...there we can intercept and persuade him into becoming our little puppet..." she looked back at Arla. "Or already bend his will from the vents. We could already make him send them away from there". Messing around with someone's mind was often fun, but they had to be subtle about it in order to avoid raising suspicions...and well, they still had to wait in a vent for quite some time.

Arla slipped into the vents, and time passed. She tried to shift around a few times, but it didn't allow a lot of space or comfort as she peered out of the vents.

She was quite glad when people started to shuffle in for the meeting, bringing them closer to being out of the vents.

They started talking about... things, and Arla kind of zoned out while they discussed business, mind racing through the best way to do what they needed to do next. I'll sneak to the bathroom if you've got an idea for getting him out of the room, she whispered. She wasn't sure if an influence from a distance was feasible, but if Celeste felt comfortable with it, then Arla wouldn't stand in her way.

She started scooting back in the vent, dropping out into the other room adjacent to the conference room in question and heading toward the restroom to be waiting inside when he came out.

And just like that, the two women vanished into the vents. Celeste didn't mind confined, tight spaces like such, but it obvious wasn't the most comfortable place to wait in. It seemed like an eternity was passing, but finally, after an actual hour or so, the business men emerged like they had thought they would.

Celeste narrowed her eyes as she attentively followed the conversation, however she was raising an eyebrow every now and then when they started discussing rather unconventional courses of action or simply started chuckling over some stupid, not at all funny, chauvinistic remarks. 'Perhaps this will indeed be a good riddance' she bitterly thought as her lips curled into a smirk, her eyes landing on the target.

"Yes. I'll send him your way asap" she whispered back, slowly and quietly bringing her hands forward. She closed her eyes for a moment after Arla had made her way towards the next room before she focused and concentrated on the Force.

Reaching out with it, she found her way towards their target and inconspicuously hopped into his mind. Forcing her way into his subconscious, she insinuated that a sudden, heavy urge to urinate would make him get up, pause the meeting and quickly excuse himself for a little bathroom break.

She immediately watched his expressions change as he realized that this sudden urge would have to be handled quickly or else an embarrassing mishap would make him blush and so she watched the man get-up, mumble something about being back in a minute and slip out of the meeting chamber. Part one was apparently accomplished, part two was Arla's responsibility.

Arla took several steps back and into the men's bathroom stall, waiting for her target to arrive. She had every confidence that he would be arriving soon, and when he did, she would be ready.

She heard the door slide open and waited for him to do his business before sliding the door open. As he turned to the sink, she emerged from the stall and reached out, tapping a finger to his head and reaching into the Spirit realm. Though her physical finger tapped his forehead, her spiritual finger touched his mind, the essence of who he was, and like a drop of poison spreading through water her will spread through his, dominating it until he was fully entranced by her spell.

You will finish your meeting and dismiss your guards in order to take a walk by the river, she said. She was vaguely aware of him repeating her words but didn't care. What she cared about was the shape of his spirit, it's color and texture. She cared that her command had taken root, and as soon as she was confident of it, she left, vanishing out of the bathroom.

We're good, meet you in the conference room I exited through, she said, slipping back into that room and waiting for Celeste to climb out of the vent herself.

Even though the target was on its way, Celeste remained in the vent a little longer, because she intended to pick up spicy details about the man after he left and his comrades were on their own. However, there was only a confused mubling about his sudden disappearance and one of his employees expressed how he was worried about his health, apparently because there had been a few occasions on which he had urgently left like that.

With an eyebrow raised, Celeste carefully scooted back and found her way into the adjacent room, the one in which Arla was probably waiting for her. She had full confidence in the Champion despite not knowing her too well yet, because she seemed quite capable after all.

She quietly opened the vent's lid and gracefully hopped down, landing with a smirk on her lips. "Perfect. That was rather smooth so far" she attributed that success to the good planning, "Then I guess all we have to do is wait for him to meet us by the water". Was Arla planning on teleporting out of the building though? Well, it was the quickest and most inconspicuous way after all, since Celeste was expecting that the entrance was guarded.

Arla was quite satisfied with how things had gone so far, and they were moving into the final stages of the plan now. Wait for him to arrive, put him to sleep, and let him drown. It was a simple plan to follow now.

Yeah, she agreed, heading back to the room they had teleported into in the first place.

Might want to grab your bucket, she said, motioning toward the garbage can just so they didn't leave anything behind. We're not teleporting again, she added after a moment, seeing the look of vague dread on Celeste's face.

Instead, Arla moved over and opened the window, poking her head out. They were only a couple of floors up, and right over the alley between the two buildings they had infiltrated. When she was satisfied that there was no one in the alley, she let the spirit of the Toocha infuse her before stepping out of the window. She dropped the ten meters or so to the ground, hitting the concrete smoothly and without missing a beat before she began to casually stroll forward out to their speeders.

She glanced back to Celeste before climbing aboard her bike and preparing to zoom off to the park.

Celeste didn't know what Arla had commanded the man to do, however she was confident that sooner or .fter he - and hopefully no one else but him - would appear at the intended meeting spot down by the river, so that the duo would be able to stage the apparent, tragic accident.

She followed the other woman and nodded when she mentioned the wet garbage can and grabbed it right after, already holding onto it as though she might have to use it soon. Her stomach was still a bit upset and confused, but she was optimistic that the second time could be better...definitely not good, but maybe slightly better after all. Or perhaps it would be just the same.

However, Arla had a different idea and Celeste didn't mind that change of plans at all. She nodded agreeingly and watched her hop out before she got into position herself. They weren't too far up, but before Celeste let go of windowsill, she pulled the window shut with the Force before she focused and dropped down.

She landed on her feet, however didn't just use the Force to cushion her fall, but rolled to absorb the remaining bits of the downward movement and energy, so that her overall descent was rather graceful as well. With one last glance upwards, she ensured that everything looked fine with the window in order not to leave any kind of a trace behind."If everything goes according to plan, he should be done in 20 minutes" she recalled while she mounted the speeder bike and waited for Arla to drive. She was still the one with the map, but the designated spot hadn't been too far off, so that the two would reach it rather soonish. The sun had already set and the streets had gotten less busy, but there were still enough people around so that the two had to be careful with their plan.

Arla slowed as they pulled into the park, coming to a stop along the river and dismounting before walking along the park while they waited for their victim.

Arla wasn't an inherently patient person, and she used the walking to alleviate her desire to fidget impatiently, watching where they could isolate him and no one would see.

You have another mission after this? she asked. She wasn't much for small talk, but with some of the information that had been hinted at by Celeste she was curious where and what she would be allowed to do next.

Back with Vahliri? she asked, keeping an eye open for where they could pounce on their victim as she spoke. It was all just hunting... just like back on Dathomir, but her prey was a person this time.

Once at the park, the pair dismounted and started looking for a spot. Celeste noted that Arla just wanted to get over with this quickly and she really couldn't blame her. They had already stayed hidden in the vents for quite some time and they finally wanted to accomplish their mission's target.

Celeste was just hoping that the damn man would show up soon and that his men wouldn't be too suspicious. They definitely had to hurry..."Not that I know of" she truthfully admitted, glancing up to the dark haired woman. "I'm definitely eager to continue, and yes, I'm reporting back to her and I'll see what she'll have me do".

Celeste couldn't wait to be allowed to continue on her own as she had an actual thirst for action. There was much on her agenda already, but for now she was still bound to the supervision of others. The FWA was still out looking for her and it was about time to make a reappearance. She still hadn't received any updates on whether the Empire wanted her to stay covert or not, but things would probably start moving in any direction soon.

Celeste kept observing their dark surroundings but the man was nowhere to be seen. What she could, however, perceive, was this thrilling feeling right inside her. There was this... drive. She had realized that ending the life of another could feel wonderfully powerful...almost addictive. Ever since she had let the darkness back in, the dark side was wanting to collect its tribute. Opening up like she had would cost quite a bit. She was still in the process of change, her powers slowly but steadily enfolding, but she had already noticed how much had already changed and she wouldn't feel bad at all for ending this next man's life.

Hm, she remarked as Celeste stated that she didn't know where she was going next. That sounded annoying. Arla constantly had to be doing something even if that "something" wasn't action. Sitting around or being told where to go next aggravated her. Of course, there was always someone above you, but for most of her life, Arla had been able to do and go what and where she wanted.

Well, Fanged Spirit be with you, she said. She had no idea where the woman's path would take her after this, and the problem was that the other woman didn't seem to know either.

There wasn't a great deal more time to think about it, though, as within a few more minutes, their target arrived.

Arla felt herself stiffen slightly as she looked over to Celeste.

You put him to sleep, I'll lift him and dunk him in the water, agreed? she said. They would have to wait for the opportune moment. At the moment, there was no one around, but they would have to be quick.

She could relate to her pure 'hm' quite well as this all wasn't satisfying, but regaining trust obviously took time. Also, she learnt something new from each and every companion and since this was also about extending her powers, it wasn't all based. Annoying yes, but it would be over soon anyway.

What Arla replied made a smile appear on her lips again as this was a truly unique way of wishing luck - if that was what it meant after all. She hadn't heard it before but she did like the sound of him and slighlty tilted her head to the side. 'And with you. Once Centares is secured, do you have further plans?". She returned the question as she was obviously curious as well. Also, so far their cooperation had went well and smoothly and paths usually crossed again and again. Their first mission wasn't even over, but Celeste assumed this wouldn't be the last time they met.

They kept a low profile where they were and as the governor emerged, Celeste's smile widened a bit. Great. So phase 1 had fully worked, now for phase 2. She nodded agreeingly, her eyes already fixed on the target while the man walked and walked and walked, seemingly not suspecting anything bad to happen.

Well little did he know those were his last steps. His life would turn into history and they'd snuff out that story. "On it" she curtly whispered back, her mind already fully focused while her eyes narrowed. They couldn't risk leaving behind any trails and so physical harm was not an option. There was no choking the life out of him because forensic doctors might be able to tell. This would have to look natural and so she had to get him to sleep.

She waited for him to get closer while hiding in the dark behind a thicker bush. When the time was right -once there were only a few meters between them- she reached out with the Force and intruded his mind once again, but this time it was not a desperate urge to pee she wanted to enforce. Instead, she was reaching inside his mind, dulling his every senses within a few seconds until the man dropped to the ground, utterly unconscious. She let out a breath before her gaze flicked back to Arla, signaling her to continue, before she glanced around once again, ensuring that truly no one was watching.
