The loud revving turned the angry head of a middle-aged Twi'lek as she carried heavy bags of groceries passed the laughing Barabels. "Hey sweetie," one of them -the bigger one- revved his swoop's engines again to get her attention, "Why don't you come here and do a little dance for me?" they both laughed, hard. The Twi'lek quickly turned to face where she was heading and picked up the pace. Ever since the Zaa Fenn Crime Family was ran out of Coruscant's lower levels, the Blackened Jet Empire had been able to thrive again. Without the so-called White Lion of the Zaa Fenn crusading against them and that annoying human girl with her smarts cutting into their profits, Grek had actually managed to expand their business over three more districts.

The Twi'lek walked passed a rodian who lifted up his eyes just in time for her to see the determined look coming from underneath the wide-brimmed hat. "Ma'am," he nodded as she quickened her pace once more and headed to turn a corner. She wondered if she should've told him -a youngster by the look of him- that it wasn't worth it. But she recognized a man's eyes when he was determined to be 'a gentleman'.

The rodian stepped forward and approached the Barabels, "Shut off those engines."

The Barabels stopped laughed to look at the rodian. He stood an entire foot shorter than they did. He didn't wear armor as they did. He had no swoop. "Oh yeah?" the bigger one teased and revved his engine again, louder this time. "Says who?" Both of them sniggered and were starting to visibly look forward to beating up this little rodian before getting drunk at the Feisty Feline. Or maybe chase that Twi'lek for that dance.. the bigger one was still undecided.

The rodian opened his jacket and carefully made the way free for the Peacemaker holstered on his hip. "Says me," he spread his legs just a little and his right hand started hovering closely to the peacemaker. "Sector Ranger," he continued, but this time his words caused the Barabels to snigger even more. Sector Rangers were smalltime lawmen for the independent Outer Rim. Those worlds even the ISC didn't care about. "Callo, Jon Callo"

The name prompted both Barabels to go for their blasters, but the rodian beat them to it and fired the first bolt straight into the bigger Barabel's chest. He fell off his swoop, frozen and stammering, but alive, which made the smaller one hesitate for a little too long and he, too, caught a heavy stun bolt in his chest. Both Barabels fell to the ground as the rodian reholstered his blaster pistol and opened a commline.

"Ranger Callo to Coruscant Underworld Police. Got two Barabels sleeping next to their swoops. Heading for the Feisty Feline next. Gonna need some back-up."

Thalin was itching to get back in the game again. The ghost ship job with the Republic had been a bit of a waste of time, if he was going to be honest. Now, the Ranger had another shot to do what he signed up to do. The Blackend Jet Empire were the perfect criminal organization to dismantle and arrest. And hey, the credits that came with their capture was pretty nice, too. Blaster fire caught Thalin's attention first and after he rounded a corner, he witnessed a Rodian Ranger take down two Barabels- the first to fall of the Blackend Jet Empire.

"Howdy," Thalin tipped his hat and gave the Rodian a friendly smile. "I'm after these punks, too. Need an extra blaster at your side?" The Rodian, if Thalin was going to be honest, looked like he could take the whole Barabel gang down himself. But the cowboy needed those credits. Starship fuel wasn't cheap these days. "Ranger Thalin... And you might be?..." He knew the other guy was a Ranger, but he didn't quite catch his name. Thalin flicked a cigarette out of his pocket and lit it, offering another to the Rodian Ranger if he desire one.

Sector Rangers on Coruscant still moved quickly it seemed, for Jon had barely called in the reinforcements as another ranger approached him. "Good you're here, Thalin-" he smiled back and took a cigarette from the Serennian with an appreciating nod, "Jon Callo."

He lit the cigarette and inhaled deeply, "Switch your blaster to stun, we're not here for a massacre." Jon warned, knowing that many rangers preferred a dead crook over an imprisoned one. No one blamed them. Not after Byblos where rangers had captured perhaps the most dangerous Sith Lords in the galaxy while they could've simply shot them in the head. Were these Sith prosecuted by Republic Law for their invasion and countless murders? No, they had been freed when other Sith massacred the rangers guarding the "secret prison".

Jon blew the smoke away and tossed the cigarette on the ground, crushing it with his worn-out left boot. "Stick to posse rules," he reminded his fellow ranger, "Don't leave each other's sight. Don't be a hero."

"I'm all about stickin' together, partner." Thalin replied as he whipped out his blaster carbine, setting it to stun. To bad his blaster pistol didn't have a heavy stun mode. It would've packed a punch as powerful as Jon's sidearm. Thalin knew the parameters of the mission, that being keeping all the thugs alive and all, and there actually a bit of bounties just like this one. A change in arsenal seemed to be in store for the Cowboy during his next 'business' venture.

"If you called in back up... Let 'em have the front... Reckon we can take the back alright. Make sure no one gets smart and runs for it." The Cowboy noted. "Barabels are tough sons of bitches, but we got brains where they don't." After finishing his own cigarette, Thalin gestured towards the Feisty Feline with a tip of his hat.

Jon Callo... Where did that name sound familiar? Wasn't Callo the name of some... Oh man, not just any random Rodian. Could this Ranger be related to the Preef Callo? Maybe like a third cousin or something cool right? Now Thalin had to ask- but how? Starting a new conversation before a bar fight with 'Hey, so what's your family tree look like?' didn't seem too appropriate. Maybe Thalin could get something out of the greener (and probably meaner) Ranger after the fight settled.

Jon turned towards ranger Thalin in disbelief, "We'll take the front." his words were definite and if Thalin was keen than he would no doubt notice the small indignant tone in the rodian's words. To Jon being a sector ranger meant you faced the outlaws head on and challenged them openly. Not because it increased your own chance of survival, but because the innocent civilians needed an example of standing up to their criminal oppressors.

"Plus," he added as he unholstered his peacemaker, "looks like you're the backup."

Unbeknownst to the pair of rangers, Coruscant Underworld Police was currently busy on a different level. Someone who called himself 'Xim the Despot' was trying to rob a welfare hospital and MorataCorp dispensary. Then there was the matter of intergalactic war, senate sessions and military redeployments on the surface. Many of the underworld police also had roles in the Coruscant military and had been summoned. As usual, the ranks of law enforcement were so thin they'd be painfully outnumbered.

Without much of another word, Jon approached the entrance of the Feisty Feline, walking passed the neat line of swoop-bikes parked out front, and entered the cantina. "Can I have everyone's attention!?" the rodian called out once he had the Barabels in view and watched how most of them turned their heads to look at him and the ranger behind him. "I'm looking for Grek Grasshk."

Well, damn. Thalin put his hands up in defeat and shrugged. If Jon wanted to take the front then they would take the front. Thalin never really liked the spotlight much, partially because he didn't know what to do with it if he had one and partially because you didn't people to know you were a good guy. Thalin didn't want the validation of strangers. He wanted to do his job and do it right. But maybe Jon had some plan that meant drawing everyone's attention.

"Who wants to know?" A scar faced Barabel stood up, rolling his shoulders back all menacingly. Thalin looked unimpressed, "Dumbass... Yuh blind 'er somethin'? We're Sector Authority, bubba." Now the rest of the gang were standing up to back their boss up, Grek really didn't like being called 'Bubba'. "There's gonna be two fatal decisions to make; Option A and Option B..." Thalin walked to stand next to Jon, whistling and gesturing with a sharp head jerk for the civilians to leave. While the pedestrians and bystanders were filtering out, the Barabels began chuckling.

"Let me guess, Cowboy Bee-Bop, Option A says we go in quietly and Option B gets a little messy? How about an Option C- You two nerf herders make like cockroaches and beat it." Thalin narrowed his eyes. "There ain't no Option C..." Now everything was silent. Thalin was staring down Grek, carbine in hand and waiting for any of the thugs to make a move. Then, one of the lesser thugs made a dash for something, but Thalin's draw was quicker and stunned the Barabel where he stood.

"Looks like Option B, fellas."

To the rodian's surprise the other sector ranger took over the conversation, leaving Jon standing there with his hand on his peacemaker and his mouth shut. The silence was so sharp you could've cut a Bantha-steak with it easily, but then one of the Barabels lost his nerve and went for his weapon. Both Thalin and Jon drew their blasters, but the rodian refocused halfway through. The other barabels, most notably the one that'd been speaking, moved to action as well and the two rangers would soon not only be outnumbered, but outflanked as well.

"Kill them!" Grek shouted just as the thug next to him caught a stunbolt between the nipples from the rodian gunslinger.

Not all Barabels had a blaster to shoot with and instead pulled out vibro-knives, swords and chains that may or may not have originally belonged to their swoop's engine. This made it easier for the ranger duo, but Grek realized the same thing almost immediately and he bolted towards the back of the cantina. "We got a runner!" Jon told Thalin as he shot one of the charging Barabels point-blank in the face with a stunner. "Follow me," was perhaps one of the trickiest things to do while keeping within the 'posse rules' for they had to make sure the both of them managed to follow Grek. Something that wasn't easy while you got four more Barabel thugs aiming to pull your insides out from improvised and bloody exit wounds.

Still, the rodian dodged an incoming sword attack and moved towards the back of the cantina in pursuit.

Thalin had to slide over a table before flipping it over in time to stop a thug dead in his tracks with a loud thud that came from the other end of the table. Soon enough, another Barabel swung a gruesome looking chain whip that took the Cowboy's hat off and nicked his forehead. The Ranger didn't get anytime to look for his hat after Jon called for backup. Damnit- I'll grab it later? Or that's what Thalin hoped for.

"I've got your six," Thalin reassured the Rodian after covering his partner with a few stun bolts that nailed a few opportunistic idiots. Another Barabel rushed the Cowboy who wasn't prepared, and the two fell to the floor in a vicious tackle. They wrestled for supremacy, the thug pressing a knife closer and closer to the Ranger's throat, just before Thalin used the Barabel's weight against him and avoided the knife while stunning him, too.

"By the Force..." Thalin sighed with relief after spotting his hat just a few feet away from the entanglement. He quickly donned it again and hightailed for Jon. "Back...on your six..." He panted.
