Name: Abyssm

Coordinates: A-20

Hyperlane: N/A. There is no direct way to plot a course for Abyssm- jump at your own risk.

Climate: Abyssm doesn’t have seasons, as they are created by the whims and tantrums of the Elder Elementals ruling the planet.
Volodimaru is a leviathan with a crustacean torso and large crab left arm with a multi-tentacles right arm, the lower body of a squid and the head of a hammerhead. He controls the seas and the tide and constantly is competing and raging war with Ragnhild- a leviathan with the head and body of a Haast’s eagle but her torso, head, and talons seem to be made out of mixes of several strong types of rocks, metals, and minerals, while the wings seem to be a living storm itself. Volodimaru and Ragnhild along with their respective Titans are constantly fighting each other, thus creating a fearsome hurricane that can be seen from space. Ragnhild’s war with Volodimaru seeps all over Abyssm, keeping the rest of the planet in some sort of state of a storm or tempest.

Terrain: Musharraf, the Elder Elemental that seems to take the form of a colossal earthly tortoise with the largest and tallest mountain in Abyssm on his back as a shell, can create and destroy the land around him at a whim. He is the least chaotic out of the four Elders but even so, every couple of years Musharraf will change the bearing of the world entirely, so it never looks the same and cannot be relied on for mapping. This makes so the world is constantly changing- with The Tempest War raging huge bodies of water in every direction and with the every slowly changing earth caused by Musharraf’s dreams while he slumbers. Mountains and valleys in the area might collapse and become a bog, while a lush forrest may become a tundra or desert depending on how other Elders intervene. The world does not rapidly change right away unless you actually manage to piss off the good natured and patient Musharraf. Only the terrain around where he slumbers (50 mile radius) changes slightly during his slumber.

Rotations: The average rotation time is mapped by how long it takes Adelaide- an Elder Elemental that seems to look like that of a fiery Chinese related dragon but with the head of an eagle that flies through the air at blinding speeds -to fly around the entire world of Abyssm. So roughly 24 hours or so. Adelaide is the most impatient Elder and is constantly trying to beat her time of 24 hours and 24 seconds to rave around the axis of Abyssm and nothing, not even Ragnhild, seems to want to deter her. Sometimes, Adelaide forgets about beating her time and flies all over the planet with no direct course making some days on Abyssm seem incredibly confusing. Adelaide burns extremely brightly and acts as the sun on Abyssm- which is why the other Elders don’t like messing with her because she is literally hot enough to burn out all the water that Volodimaru creates, dry out any terrain Musharraf creates, and destroy any atmosphere that Ragnhild creates.

Inhabitants: “This is where the Fun begins!”
Abyssm is home to many varying creatures called Titans. Titans can range from an ape the size of a Zilobeast, to three mile long chitinous plated worm bent on devouring everything it comes across. Titans have very interesting DNA that allows them to grow new genetic traits to adapt to the ever changing chaos of Abyssm- for example, if a Titan that resembles a spider dwells in a swampy area for a while, it may adapt to be able to glide across the surface of the water with special “fingers” and hairs that allow it to stay afloat, or it grows tremendously long arms that mimic skinny trees or drift wood in the water to help it ambush its prey. Similarly, if a Titan is struck by lightning or other large amounts of energy and survives, it might be supercharged with whatever it’s surrounding environment is. So a cow grazing in a thicket might grow shrubs on its back for better camouflage, or a condor perched next to a fire, might take the appearance of an apparent phoenix. Titans are attuned to the Force through nature, but are not capable of your standard Force abilities like Force Choking and Force Lightning, and use it more on a mental scale rather than physical. Some Titans are literally more intelligent and can communicate with the native Sapians via telepathy or just basic speech and sign language. Some ambushers may be able to arrange logs in a way that mimics humanoid life and give it a vague image of a damsel in distress while being able to copy sounds of peril and agony, etc., etc. Though a “cow” isn’t a Titan, after remaining in a certain biome for a long while, it will become a huge monstrosity of a “cow” that then can then be classified as a Titan. Titans can range from being extremely aggressive herbivores, to passive and docile predators, vise versa, and everything in between.

The more civilized and lesser beings of Abyssm that have seem to have adapted to the harsh environments themselves, are the Sapians. Sapians are Wookiee sized chimpanzee-like creatures that speak basic and common. They live in tribes and follow a Titan Guardian, or a Titan that’s smart enough not to eat it’s worshipers, that they kind of take after. If their Guardian is a warmonger, the Sapian tribe will appear and act like conquerors and savages. If the Guardian is like that of a wise sage, the Sapian tribe will be more peaceful as well, etc., etc. Sapians are also capable of minor genetic changes to better suit their environment. Sapians that dwell in the mountains may have thicker fur and tougher skin and shaped a little rounder like boulders. Sapians that live in deserts might be skinnier and have less hair and courser skin. Sapians that live in more aquatic environments have webs between their fingers and feet and have more powerful legs and shoulders than the other Sapians, etc.

The most major part of Abyssm’s inhabitants are the four Elder Elementals. They all control their own aspects of Abyssm through more physical and mental means of the Force that creates and keeps Abyssm in control- no matter how chaotic and hellish the world may seem. Many do not know of their origins but most would believe that they were birthed by the Force in some shape or form and speculated to be about as old as the planet.

Resources: Abyssm is rich with oil, wherever you can find land, but other than that, it has what other basic planets will have. You want trees? Wait for Musharraf to start snoring. You want a certain metal? Start digging before Musharraf starts snoring. You want food? Well if you manage to not be something else’s meal, you’ll find lots of options.

Government: Abyssm has no ruler- unless you consider the Elder Elementals to have absolute control over the planet itself, it has no body or organization that has most of this world capitalized. The Sapian tribes have never had need or the power to join together under one Titan Guardian. However, the leader of the tribe is whoever is both the physically and mentally strongest and capable of leading. This is decided through the process of a MMA like tournament with each willing member of the tribe that is contesting for the title of Alpha. The Alpha is the main head of the tribe and their political power is only rivaled by the Shaman, who is a Sapian chosen by the Titan Guardian as it’s representative. If the Alpha makes an order to the tribe, only the Shaman can veto it if the Titan Guardian so demands.

Culture: Sapian tribe culture usually depends on the Titan Guardian for how the tribe usually acts as described above. Sapians do, however, meet together every other night to meditate using the Force, participating in mental and spiritual trainings during this meditation to build up moral and loyalty throughout the tribe. Kind of like a shared coma, but it’s not a coma.

Technology: Sapians are akin to Tusken Raiders with technology, and because of the lack of visitors they get from other star systems, they have had to rely on their own ingenuity to survive. They have an array of melee weapons from battleaxes to great swords and longbows to crossbows made from the tough and valuable bones of fallen Titans and have been able to make armor out of the hide of some said fallen Titans- some of which is able to fend off against blaster bolts. They usually ride smaller and more basic animals like horses and the like, as a means for transportation.

Satellites: There is no moon around Abyssm. The sun is incredibly far away as well, but Adelaide is the planets source of heat and light.

History: Different Sapian tribes have their own written texts drawn on sacred tablets made by the Shamans that tell the tale of the tribe’s history, but there isn’t a definitive source on Abyssm that tells the tale of Abyssm in general. However, the Elders may know of something for the foolhardy to seek after concerning Abyssm and it's history...

Intent: To make a new planet for more gritty and intense RPs based around colossal monsters that rule the land instead of tiny humanoids. I also was planning on introducing an RP where a very potentially important character sends out a distress call for rescue on the hellish and chaotic planet of Abyssm.

I'm not sure a planet is capable of sustaining life with no sun at all. Or do you mean more (in the satellites section) that Abyssm is just not near its local star, and is instead sort of like far away from it like Neptune in our cluster?

I guess I didn’t specify this and I can totally change it so that it’s next to a sun, bu Adelaide is the acting “sun”. She is the hottest thing on the planet and also the fastest so she would kind of act as a sun while she zooms around the planet. But again, if that’s a big stretch, I’ll just change it so Abyssm is next to a sun.

I'm not an space scientist or anything, but I'm pretty sure that a planet needs some sort of object to orbit around. Generally it's a sun. You could have Adelaide be the primary source of light for the planet and just have its star be far away if thats the flavor you want.

That’s actually a pretty sick idea. Thanks, Logan!

Seems cool enough to me. Reminds of a planet that they would visit in the SW EU comics.

Approved.
