The crater simmered with age old light. Leaned against the hull of his companion's ship, Cavo could feel the vibrations, the echoing howls of a world savaged more than a century ago, a mouth wrenched open in pain and still screaming into the void. Still screaming. Even now, even when countless other wounds had healed, this one remained to bleed flames into the sky. The weather was clear and cold tonight. Too cold. The atmosphere was thinner that it had been. So much of it had been lost to space, cast out with a thousand tons of rock by the laser that had fallen. Cavo drew his cloak close around him at the thought. Memories of blaster fire and steel suddenly crowded close.

The Force rippled strangely. On Ajan Kloss, the dance was quick and constant, step on step on step, never missing a beat and never changing pace. Here, the past and the present fought for control. No medicine could be brought to heal such a wound. A century old memory would vie for control of this place for all eternity, until Jedha finally tore itself apart. The pain was not ready to let the world erase it. Only in true death would the balance be restored. This thought did not come to Cavo; he dreamed that perhaps there was a way to save this place. Perhaps there was life in it yet, if the Force had brought them here.

A gust of wind hurled sand into the air. Cavo's eyes followed the curve of a dune, the waves of sand that rolled forever into the distance. It was surreal, to be stood beside such a great gorge that gave way so completely to endless calm. He saw the conflict illustrated more clearly there. The world of sand that wanted to move on and the darkness that needed to scream. A pain that needed to be remembered.

He was inside, fiddling with the controls in the operator's deck. In his time using this vessel, which he and Cavo had used to reach this unseemly place, the controls through which to operate their ship had been modified and altered and rewired in a manner most unusual, though a trained pilot's eye would see no actual utility over Achendaur's configuration; merely a mess of modifications he was the most familiar with, a likely intent as to cut back on possible ship thefts. The vessel's gentle hum of life was gradually winding down into a kind of rest mode so that fuel and energy may be reserved.

"What a hellish place you've guided us to," He called out to Cavo from within the captain's cabin. When he came waltzing out, he was once again hooded but also masked-- suggesting some kind of fondness of their use, considering that before they left their planet of meeting he had gathered several logs of jungle wood, only so he may carve them into unsightly looking wooden faces. As a result, shavings and scraps of old animal hair littered all floors and levels of their transport.

"The air is colder here even though the world screams fire. Do you reckon we will find what we seek in its mouth, or atop its head?" Asked Achendaur, adjusting the slender vibroblade in its sheathe at his left side. The dark gray cloak over his person made for less of a welcoming sight and, with the strange mask, more of an ominous one, though he was nicely insulated as a result. The false face turned towards Cavo, waiting on his input.

He allowed himself a pause upon a dune, witnessing some dark blur of a ship traverse the arid skies, a thin streak being left in their wake from the thrusters. Soon however the hunk of metal descended, obscuring itself from his view. The man was fitted in armaments that belonged to the century prior, old blemishes coated the armor, scratches, dents, and stains of muck and grime. Yet he made due, they were heirlooms at this point, things that had served well and would continue to serve him well. Slipping a hand onto a canteen fixed to his belt he took in a good swig, wiping some sweat from his forehead afterwards.

The sojourner had his own reasons for coming here, to this sundered planet. Firstly, to flee those he presumed to be on his heels. Secondly, he knew things resided here, things from the reign of the old Empire, things heard from his great grandfather, the one who originally bore the armor he wore now. Even after the bust on Coruscant he felt an obligation to press on. The loyalist knew other groups and factions out among the galaxy shared his beliefs and ideals, though small and fractured. They would need to be supplied, united, a task the family had planned on.

Eyeing as to where he last spied the ship he began off in that general direction, reckoning he was perhaps a few kilometers off. Why were others here? Had they come seeking what he seeks? Answers he was determined to find.

"I will meditate and listen for the Force's instruction. As you will await mine." He barely glanced up at the traveller who had strode across the deep darkness with him. He had come here to prevent a fall, a journey into deeper shadow, a shadow that could consume the galaxy. This was the way of the Jedi. To stand at the precipice and prevent souls from falling to the hatred that would claim them. "Check our supplies. Check them again. Ready your ship; if we must venture below and fail, it will be our final resting place, and I would rather that we were found in a well kept vessel rather than a pile of rags and loose screws. At least then they cannot say we went in unprepared."

The flames tempted him out of himself as he began his meditation. First, the numbness beyond his fingertips, then the prickling sensation that flooded down through his eyes. All the world crowding closer whilst the small things fled into irrelevance. His breathing, his heartbeat, the weight of his body, all these things meant nothing before the enormity of the dancing universe and even the stones that cradled him now. He was nothing, and so, he accepted everything.

A low, rippling chuckle flowed from Achendaur as Cavo referenced the awry state of his ship - or the interior, at least. He soon turned to pace back up its entrance ramp, snatching a battered metal broom from the corner of the central cabin before getting to making short work of the floors. He seemed to favor different places to carve his masks, within different chambers when in different moods ... merely an expression of the doldrums, of how Achendaur kept his mind steely while drifting through the long darkness of space.

Once it was cleaned up, his obscured form returned to the chilly outside with chopped logs under his arms. He tossed several of them a short distance away from the ship, before Achendaur returned inward only to gather up a single log that had yet to be cut. This log was special, as designated a special ten feet away from the original pile of wood to place it upright. Something to carve? Something to practice his sword upon? It was unclear for now.

A slender metal lighter was drawn from his belt, and with a sharp 'click' its open end was ignited and settled against a bit of brush he collected back on Ajan Kloss, fueling a fire that would spread over the campfire choppings. Why Achendaur preferred this to resting in the warmer interior of his ship was also unclear, only further establishing him and his ways as dated and oddball. The fire rose and crackled to life, and so the man in the mask settled down in front of it. He would remain silent as he pulled the vibrosword from his side, still bound to the heavy metal scabbard, and set it in his lap whilst observing the distant Cavo, intent on ensuring the other was left undisturbed.

Beams of the beating sun graced his back as he headed westward, faint rays trickling over the tops of dunes and onto that below. It would take him another kilometer or so before he even began to near the vicinity of the ship, he wagered. The traveler could faintly make out the durasteel outline as he crossed over the heights of the seemingly endless sand mounds at his front. Distance was not exactly the issue for him, rucking for kilometers through the winding streets of Coruscant was not terribly dissimilar to this, yet instead of smuggling contraband to a buyer, he was now carrying some of the last of his families' lineage.

Finally, he was nearly there. Roughly an hour had passed since he elected to head off for the landing vessel in the dune-ridden distance. Kaius was about a hundred fifty meters from the ship itself at this time, give or take. Instead of openly approaching and hailing whoever resided there as an amicable soul may, he would act cautiously, though curiously. Pulling back a few meters he pulled himself up a rocky incline, thankfully one that was not too steep. Kneeling, the sojourner shifted the weight of his rucksack off his shoulders, propping it against some stones. Making for the base of a weathered, leaf-less tree a few meters nearby, he hunkers near it, laying upon his front to keep a low profile.

Now, in his perch, the man gazed out and onto that which was below him. His eyes wandered over and onto that gaping gorge, that nasty scar not too far from him that lead deep into the planet's core. Yet the man's focus was far more interested in which was in front, the steely hull and those that may or may not be about the vessel. Had they already gone elsewhere? Could he spot any of the crew? The surveyor scanned, using the downtime as a chance to get his breath from the hike.

Several hours of darkness passed filled only with the sounds of the campfire and the chasm. Only when morning came did Cavo awaken from his trance. The tingling numbness receded slowly, his sight finally returning to the eyes he knew so well from a place far, far away. He had seen many things he could not begin to describe. The faces of half-forgotten friends and the strange lights that play behind the eyes when sleep draws near, the starlight that trickles down from the heavens at midnight and words whispered in another life.

"We are going into the chasm," he said, without so much as a twitch, "we are going below. Into the chasm. I am certain. Are we ready?" Sunlight struck down from a strange, misty blue sky. Distant stars could still be seen on the horizon. How thin this place had become, how fragile, that even in daylight the worries of other worlds snuck through the atmosphere. Worry gnawed at the back of the padawan's mind. "There is no Emotion, there is Peace," he recited, "there is no Ignorance, there is Knowledge. For my ally is the Force, and... Her eyes walk into the darkness where I fear to tread, for She is more than I. A shepherd walks before me through the fields of Dantooine, and He is called Father and, there is no Passion, there is Serenity." The trance slid out from behind other thoughts. He called to it and it came. The far away look lingered in his eye for a moment longer before hot sand invaded his fingertips, his bones, and he returned to the air in his lungs and the blood in his veins.

He stood with renewed purpose and commanded, "Achendaur. Ready the ship. I will guide us."

While Cavo spent his time communicating with the beyond, Achendaur tested himself by staring into the flame as long as he could without losing focus. Two hours in, and he had fallen into a light sleep; his master's method of meditation evidently not yet mastered. Even when he blinked awake at young Bresk's call, he took witness to irritable floaties caused by an intense stare into flame.

"Ah," Achendaur croaked sharply, shaking his head to clear it as he roused and slowly stood from the now cold campfire in a stumble. "I've lost track of the time!" He could be heard bellowing in the distance before Cavos, scrambling to kick out the already faded flame and then shuffle into the ship via its open entrance ramp. Soon, the ship rattled and hummed with life, and sand was cast astray like debris as its engines churned into activation. The oddball man in the mask could be seen stepping out and outstretching his arms, as though to offer embrace to the ways-away Cavos.

"They will mark our names in history, for conquering this unsightly mouth!" Achendaur called to Cavo, awaiting his return to the ship, unawares of the third soul nearby.

He watched during this time, curious about the intentions and motives of the pair of fellows below. A pair of keen eyes follow the one known as Achendaur as he arose from the fireplace and made for the grounded vessel. While he could not clearly make out the conversation from such a distance he knew this was his time to spring into action, lest he miss the opportunity.

Pushing himself back upright he closed the small distance between himself and his pack, hastily flinging the container overshoulder as the ship's engines hummed to life and tossed up sandy debris not too far off. With his things the sojourner shimmied down the small incline, landing upon the rocks with a low grunt. Taking a moment to reorientate himself from the now lower perspective he slips his trooper helmet over, obscuring as well protecting the man's calculating features.

Readied and full of anticipation, he vaults over the small boulder before him and rushes off towards the lively ship; but a quickly approaching white-clad figure amidst a sea of sand. Witnessing Achendaur step out to hail Cavo, the pseudo-stormtrooper was quite visible at this point - a little less than a hundred meters away. His E-11 blaster levied up before him, swinging lightly in his arms with each stride. Stopping in his treads the rifle was aimed upwards, and with a press of the trigger, a quick stream of superheated plasma escaped the steely barrel as he fired from a diagonal angle to the ship. The few red-hued bolts smashed into the ground near the entrance ramp as well a side of the ship's hull, though doing little to the durasteel exterior. Kaius thumbed the selector back to a semi-auto setting, visored eyes locked upon Achendaur, and then Cavo.

"And they'll forget us if we fail; just another crashed ship for some junker to haul back to market. Doubt anyone'd make a story of us. At least you got some sleep. If you piloted us into a boulder whilst yawning though, I'm sure some scrapper'd make a story out of it once they'd found the footage from the deck. The pilot too sleep deprived to see the ten-ton boulder in front of them." He paused for thought, turning away from the ramp to peer out at the desert. His expression was at once curious. "Thinking about it, that's probably happened before."

Blaster bolts ripped through the air from the base of the nearest dune. Cavo had enough time to throw himself down into a crouch, his legs half giving way and his shoulders scrunching themselves together in an effort to hide. Not that there was anything to hide behind out here. The desert sands stared back at him with merciless yellow heat. Sands that would suck down his blood hungrily once his body had been scavenged. The last blaster bolt's screech rang through the air for one second, two, three, before Cavo's necked snapped up. The assailant's white armour was difficult to focus on. Even beneath the grime of obvious use, it glimmered like polished ivory in the light of such a bright sun.

The black lines of that mask made it clear to him what was happening. Who had come for him. The same villains who had marched across the galaxy in that century old war had finally resurfaced. There was no logic to this. The stories told him more than logic ever could. This was the enemy. His composure, his fright, his center, dissipated in an instant. The Force became him.

A hand was rested in the sand, pressing itself into the heat despite the discomfort. It rippled briefly.

"Achendaur - keep your weapon trained on it. Blast it as I run. Don't stop. Keep firing." He didn't even speak through gritted teeth, or with words that faltered on his lips; he spoke clearly. There was no fight for control. He was focused on the thing that breathed red fire across the dunes of a world it had massacred long ago. Even now, they lay here, like leeches. Even now they stole the heart of this world, the heart of the Jedi, to be turned into weapons that would soon bring devastation to this hard won peace. He knew it.

His cloak was thrown off in one swift movement as he began his sprint, revealing bare flesh that glistened in the sunlight. This was what the Shii-Cho drills in cloying jungle air had prepared him for. Crisp, dry air blustered over his skin like adrenaline, an adrenaline that flowed into him as he ran through it, submerged in the fires of this scarred world. Sweat poured from him. Breath gasped on his lips, in his throat, his lungs. Sand tumbled away beneath legs that ran like the wolf's.

At the sound of bolts clashing against his ship, and then fellow Bresk's resounding instructions, Achendaur's arms sharply dropped as his head snapped in the direction of their new foe. A single, ringing laugh followed the silence bid by the pause in fire, as though Cavo's demand for ranged cover-fire was a joke to him; Achendaur did not carry blasters. With a sudden dip of his right arm into his heavy cloak, the man in the mask withdrew and revealed his weapon; a shining, slender vibrosword that shone in the light of the dawning sun. He held this up in the air for the distant assailant to take witness to, before, quite boldly, he began pacing in Kaius' direction.

AC26731967B96A37E317C1EDAD3F5CB033D2B299

He did not know what the armor meant; he did not know the history of terror that the ancient stark white shade symbolized. One could believe, from how he advanced across the lifeless dune, that he sought after Kaius while fearlessly walking into view of fire. But all at once, as soon as he got enough distance to be in speaking range with the soldier, Achendaur took pause; he deftly turned the blade in his hand, and then struck it into the sand with a sharp upheaval of grains. Then, his arms outstretched to keep his foe's attention; roaring above the rush of wind that kept the dunes ever-shifting.

"WHAT IS YOUR INTENTION HERE," Achendaur called, "WHITE DEVIL?"
Even at this distance, where the unusual mask obscured all that his hood could not, the stare of two pales eyes could be felt boring into Kaius. In the three-man chaos that had erupted, it was unclear whether this was a distraction, or if it was a genuine bid for ceasefire and explanation. It was left to the warrior Kaius and the impeding Cavo Bresk to determine how this situation would further unravel.

Planted atop one of the endless dunes for vantage, the white-clad warrior took a moment to gauge the reaction of the seemingly unarmed and obviously unarmored duo. Per the distance wedged between the three, he struggled to hear the words of the crouched Cavo, but nigh indiscernible phrases, whether in submission or defiance, Kaius knew not.

c4f58f503ba25448aa99eca54b8cea9f.jpg
One thing was certain in this newfound chaos. The newcomer was far from prepared or even expecting about what came to unfurl next. He witnessed the man fling off his shroud, yet not much more than that, as a distorted blur engulfed him with the next stride or so he took. The solemn features of his grandfather's war-worn helmet did well to mask this surprise. Jedi. Yet even then he did not comprehend or understand this is what he faced, after all, individuals such as this were not exactly something he saw or knew of in the grimey undercity of Coruscant.

"AAARGH." The loud, staticky bellow left Kaius as sheer instinct overcame him, a determination to live, to survive this foreign thing which was deemed a threat. Swiftly thumbing the selector upon his E-11 upwards, the trigger jerking back almost immediately afterward. Held at his armored abdomen, the blaster fired out bolt after bolt of red plasma towards the direction at which Cavo seemingly disappeared from as he jerkily swept the rifle to and from, recoil kicking some. Multiple rounds of the blaster fire would obviously not even come close to the actual target from this desperate full-auto tactic. Some smash into the ground, the ship, and around the area Achendaur approached from, in hope that mayhaps just one of his volley fire would manage to find mark upon the now obscure Cavo. Faint plumes of scalding steam rose from the barrel as shot after shot escaped it. It was all but certain that the ammo in its powerpack would not last too much longer at this costly rate.

The words of Achendaur fell on deafened ears, and no reply was mustered.

[AMBIENCE]

The scream jerked Cavo's head up from the sand and toward his target. He saw the gun lifted to rest against the armour, felt the butt stuck firm against the plates. Here it comes. Plasma built in the barrel. Here it comes. Light fermented like fine wine, ever redder. Here it comes. The air shivered with another screeching volley of blaster fire that sprayed randomly across the sands.

Now. The Force came to life with the Jedi's response. It rose within Cavo and fed off his resolve. He had already been running quickly but now, unseen winds carried him forwards like gales blowing into the sails of a ship. The next eight meters vanished beneath him. He came to a halt within thirty metres of Kaius, sand still settling from the volley of blaster fire.

He was still. Breathing hard, legs square in the sand, knelt like a wrestler, but perfectly still. His eyes were full of an animal fury which he fought to contain. The scream still rang in his mind; more than anything, that, and Achendaur's attempt at diplomacy restrained him.

The Jedi waited.

An offended sneer tore from the mouth of Achendaur's mask as, in this madness, his efforts to draw out the soldier's reasons for aggression fell on deaf ears. His two lifted arms soon moved to make expressions; holding his hand up toward the distant Kaius and the general direction of Cavo, insisting to them to wait for a moment so the matter did not turn into a violent skirmish.

"Now!" He called out to the Imperial descendants again, now that the blur Kaius feared had made pause, "I reckon if we weren't well-mannered, patient individuals- my, associate here and I- we would have responded to your invitation of barbarity, twofold! But that's not the case- as you can SEE, you're the only one taking shots." Achendaur's gloved hands slowly lowered as he focused intently on Kaius, soon gesturing toward the blade struck into the sands; reaffirming his desire to remain passive here.

"Let's all settle down, and explain ourselves ..." He continued in a smoother, relaxed tone. Achendaur's hooded head tilted downward a bit. "Or we're going to be burying you under the sand."

A gritted gasp escaped him as the onslaught of red ceased seconds after the blur was made whole again, the man but closer this time. Still, he was wholly unsure how this could transpire. What trickery allowed for this, was he some alien species garbed as a mere human? These questions would remain unanswered and unasked. With an index clamping upon the rifle, he deftly flicked the weapon in his hand, causing the spent powerpack to come falling to the grains below. A thin plume of steam trailed upwards from the magazine and along the barrel of his blaster. Without hesitation or so much as looking towards the firearm for guidance, a gauntleted hand plucked a fresh clip and slotted it within the compartment, a mechanical click followed.

th
Now, in these new moments of clarity, the helmed Kaius regarded the words of the tactful Achendaur, the one who bore such a bizarre mask. Even so, his E-11 would remain loosely trained on the direction Cavo hailed from. His voice was somewhat staticky and modulated from the dated changer within his helmet, though he was able to be discerned despite this. "The two of you want what is not yours, down below, in that crater." The trooper shifted his weight against the sands, fetching a glimpse to the younger, mysterious Cavo before returning to the more vocal of the pair. "Those supplies and arms belong to me and my family. In rightful Imperialist hands, not the likes of scavengers and thrifters." Kaius elaborated somewhat while keeping himself relatively short and concise, not wishing to divulge more than he needed to the pair of strangers. Now he waited for the reply, presumably to come from that of the masked man. Not too much distance remained between the opposing groups, yet he seemed tense and readied if needed to act.

It was difficult to see the animal he had been hunting now. He suddenly felt foolish for his fury. Even if it had lasted only a few seconds, those were the first few seconds in which he had ever lost control. His stance returned to something more neutral as he considered his anger. The armour made him flinch to look at, but the voice was like any other voice.

"We don't care about whatever equipment you're here to scavenge. Not that I think you'll find much in the rubble down there, in the flames; you saw to it nothing would be found there. We are here for something stolen from my kind, from my family. I hope you can respect that." His voice was sullen and defeated as he turned away. The cloak he had abandoned still lay in the sand beside Achendaur's ship. Focusing his attention on it relieved some of his stress. Perhaps putting it back on would shield him as much from his emotions as from the memories that swirled invisibly around him.

Cavo began the journey walk back to the ship in silence, looking over his shoulder every so often.

"A man once told me, question all sides; even your own," Achendaur called after the two others spoke their piece, raising his hands again in a loose, floaty gesture toward their unpleasant situation. "Are you both so loyal to your own, that you must take to arms at once? Are we men or barbarian apes, fighting over semantics in a desert?" His words dominated much sound in the dunes upon which they all stood, with his ship's warm, rattling hum of life acting as background noise. Achendaur pulls the sword from the sand.

"The way I see it, we are better off working together than we are killing eachother over- over nothing, really." The man in the mask soon paced over toward where Cavo's cloak had fallen in the midst of conflict, still speaking in Kaius' direction. "We seek to steal fire from the Gods, White Devil. That is to say, we seek the stones below the wound of this planet, that would allow us to wield weapons of legend. We may find your empire of dirt's supplies on the way there, if you would be willing to defy the long-standing tradition of your people-- to kill those who oppose the Dark?"

The cloak was pulled from the sands, and the sword returned to the sheathe. Achendaur approached the ship again until he reached the start of the boarding ramp, where he would turn to stare across toward Kaius in patient, if expecting silence. His question was a kind of challenge toward Kaius; aggressive in that it demanded that the stormtrooper descendant define his loyalties with a a simple "yes" or "no".

The so-called trooper watched as Cavo made for the ship after saying his part. While his back would make for an easy target he did not want to waste effort, nor his power packs. Still, he held some cautious reservation for him, having no words to relay back to the man who possessed these enigmatic powers, powers the undercity-dweller was ignorant of. Kaius would pay some semblance of respect to the other fellow, listening to his speakings, some of it he considered as drivel.

As Achendaur finished and began to traverse the sands to his humming ship as Cavo had he let out a bout of laughter, which in truth sounded a tad odd per the dated modulator in his helmet. "You think I would have fought for them? That my ancestors knowingly fought for the foul Sith? No. They fought for a united humanity, a humanity shepherded and headed by a strong leader, unlike this mishmash of a Republic we have now." After saying his part he must have had deemed the pair no longer a threat, or else he would not have had put the selector on 'safe' and shouldered the blaster. He seemed ready to depart, though Achendaur's turn-about bid his attention for a moment longer. The question to him was more so a matter of fact than one of emotional considerance. His ship was too large to safely descend into that maw, more suited for the likes of hauling cargo than nimbly maneuvering past asteroids and debris. While Kaius did not particularly like the thought of banding with the pair, especially the younger of the bunch, he had little choice otherwise - the opportunity in front of him, to pass it up would make him a fool.

His reply came no more than a few seconds or so after it was asked.
"Very well. This is a temporary arrangement." His cloak whipped and waved in the faint breeze as he made forth for the rumbling ship without another word.

Why Achendaur felt the urge to offer the scavenger a place aboard his ship was beyond Cavo, but he did not feel the need to inquire. He walked beside Kaius slowly, speaking without looking up at the armour, the helmet, the silhouette of his nightmares. His voice was obscured by the drone of the engines and the desert wind, but his whisper was just loud enough for Kaius to hear.

"My friend here is tighter lipped than he may seem," he began, voice no louder than a whisper, "and I'd keep that in mind. I'm here because he threatened to seek out the Sith. If my fear brought another red saber wielding madman to the galaxy I couldn't... Do not trust him. I'm here only to shepherd him. Sorry if I'm overzealous."

He made the rest of the way to his quarters in silence, settling himself on his bunk for another round of meditation. He stared down into his cloak before throwing it aside, choosing instead to sit with his chest bare. It reminded him of home. Of walking through the fields in high summer with the wind blowing across his skin. Different from these blasted sands. Somehow, warmer.

This time, he synced his breathing with the constant churning of motors. A different rhythm to that of the planet. Foreign. He would have to guide this hunk of metal down through the rocks, like a chunk of obsidian returning to the furnace of it's birth. The flames burnt all around him now. They burnt in the dark corners of his mind where his eyes could not see. He peered into that darkness with clarity of thought and saw many things in the shadows of the future.

"Tremendous!" The man in the mask boomed, his rasped elation rippling across the dunes and beyond. "We will make good pickings of this sad cadaver yet," He continued as the other would come to pass into the ship, whereupon Kaius's entrance behind Cavo he would pull a rusted lever that activated the boarding ramp's folding and closure. Once they were all protected by the confines, he abruptly called to the welcomed imperial remnant-- "So is it clone blood that keeps you loyal to the memory of empire, or did they give up on churning out more of their ancient kind in favor of ... real, men?"

The question was odd, sudden and almost intrusive, but Achendaur didn't seen to have intent to snark at Kaius; it was more curious than anything. "Your kind are rare, you see. I have only heard tales of the White Devils, who descended in spirit from fake men in white armor - the same armor, almost." As he passes Kaius to enter the pilot's cabin, he gestured to the soldier's form-- to his armor that Achendaur referred to. "You are a treasure trove of knowledge, so I must make use of you during our leisurely cruise!"

The already humming ship seized up for a moment, and then parted the sands beneath it as its whole was lifted through force of the jets. Mobility would become imbalanced for a moment, but only a moment as Achendaur steadied the craft in the air. "Cavo!" He barked over his shoulder. "Do we need you in here to guide us? Or am I nosediving into this hole?" After a moment of pause, he continued. "If you've a good way around a ship, soldierboy, I would appreciate the help!"

Whether or not either accepted his offer to help in piloting, Achendaur would guide the ship forth and toward the firey gaping maw that dwelled where there was once much more moon. They would make a slow, gradual descent, delaying the eventual landing for some time as the oddball in the captain's chair took his time getting them there.
