After 500 years of non-existence courtesy of the Sith Empire and the dissolution of the United Protectorate, the people have taken back their planets and reformed the Republic, independent of influence of the Sith and Mandalorians, with @Keira Zale being Acting Supreme Chancellor.

With this, the United Protectorate section is now changed to the Republic and the UP prefix has also changed to reflect and the faction has a new write-up, which has it's history, structure, and map detailed as well as updated roster. The Senate is still active and the Army of the Republic is now playable.

In addition Indies/Rebels/Imperials are welcome to request a rank-change in this thread to enlist for the Republic armed forces, no IC threads needed.

Good question! Yeah, you'll need a character plot. I clarified my announcement that characters can enlist for the Republic military without threads.
