I've decided on my character, read the guides and the FAQ, I just wanted to understand the concepts with regards to joining threads et al.

No, your character doesn't have to be affiliated with anything if you don't wish him to be.

I think Matt has one of those for his Wookie, and I would say you will need one.

Also, how do i work out Strength, Dexterity ect ect, I saw on a different profile i looked at to get to grips that it used numbers such as 6/10 - How do we work these out?

That works.

You can look at my character- Abele- for an example. You can also look at other profiles as a guide.

Just rate what his strength, agility ect is out of 10, ten have absolute mastery over the skill and one having little to no grip over a skill. Obviously you can't make everything 10/10 as that would be godmod.

As for the robot, try Wookiepedia, I'm sure they have some prototypes of translator droids, unfortunately I don't know of any, sorry.

Okay, I finished my Character, I'm now just waiting for a little bit of feedback about him, before I hunt down a thread to join.

Eh, all sorts of RP threads pop up in the weirdest places. They're like old girlfriends that way.

I just use a mouthpiece (that doubles as a gas mask) which synthesizes me voice in basic.
