Lorcan might have done his best to get rid of some of his big vices but he wasn't going squeaky clean by any means. So when he called the two people he was working with on this job, he also lit up a cigarette. It was bad for his health, sure, but in his experience that only mattered if you lived long enough for it to build up in your body and he doubted he would live the decades required for that to happen.

He had poured over the camera feeds and quizzed the damned head of hiring to confirm his suspicions when he'd spotted someone he kind of recognized from somewhere in the back of his mind. It hadn't taken him long to put two and two together to get five when he'd managed to get a clearer shot through one of the cameras as she was exciting.

Lornica.

Of all the assassins in the Galaxy it had to be her - yet another reason for him to take long drags off his cigarette before taking a second one for good measure. His hands were shaking slightly as well but he tried to ignore that. He just needed to focus on the job and for that to happen he just needed to wait for his allies to arrive.

She had forgone the professional armor in favor of more stealthy armor, fit for their urban settings, and a medpac clipped to her belt if necessary beneath the coat. Even from this distance, she could sense Lorcan's unease, and she blinked, regarding him from a distance for a few moments. Little seemed to rattle the former Ranger, and it of course piqued her interest as to what could disturb him that much.

Her hood was drawn up over her head, obscuring white hair, and the jacket itself was a long, also black affair. As she stepped on through, the distinct smell of the chems wafted up, making her part her lips slightly to avoid breathing through her nose and smelling everything within five miles.

"Lorcan," she greeted curtly, giving a small nod to him so as not to startle him with her approach. She made him edgy, apparently, so she made every effort to not surprise him with her own arrival; it would only be a matter of time until Eisa would make an appearance as well, but seeing him indulge reminded that she had cigaras in her own pocket. But in lieu of reaching for them, she put her hands in her pockets, content to wait for now.

Something was telling her that this was likely going to be an expensive journey, well from keeping her crew mate entertained point of view. Curse had rather unsurprisingly made short work of destroying the latest additions to her quarters within the their ship, the broken droids and small speeder bikes that had been picked up from their recent trip the scrap yards had been thoroughly destroyed and reduced to a clutter of shredded metal and wires. To avoid the risk of returning to find that either Curse had decided to then get to work on the Rim Hopper, or worse go on a scrapping spree on Coruscant, Eisa had rather hurriedly bought a speeder bike for the droid to play with - it was perhaps the lesser of evils for the time being, given that her current job was involving crime scenes. Something a buzz droid may not be the best of environments for bringing a sabotage droid into.

Still for the time being, Curse was excitably occupied for another few hours at least - content that her crew mate was not going to go on a scrapping spree, the fiery haired spacer made her return to her current source of income. As she approached, her eyes narrowed at the currents of the Force radiated with a degree of unease - though truthfully she couldn't be sure whether it was originating from those she was headed to meet, or just part of the ambient currents that surrounded the area in the wake of the CEO's murder. Shrugging the thought off for a moment, figuring it was best to find out as and when it came and deal with it in the moment, rather than air on the side of caution like she would have been trained to during her time within the Order - but she would more than likely be late if she stopped to meditate on what she was reading in the Force.

Coming into view of Lorcan and the Doctor, the spacer's eyebrow arched up inquisitively as she regarded the pair, more notably the other female who was wearing attire that made her look like she was trying to keep a low profile. Something that potentially Eisa had either missed the memo on during Lorcan's recent messages, or more than likely failed to read the tone of his messages - as the spacer hadn't really changed much of her attire away from her usual smuggler-esq attire, the only visible difference was that in addition to the stun baton that hung off her waist belt, was the holster baring her pistol side arm. "Oi oi!" Eisa spoke out rather cheerfully as she closed the distance, a pleasant grin curling on the edge of her lips. "Find anything interesting from the housekeeping staff?"

He took another long drag when Doc appeared and damn near finished a new cigarette when Eisa showed up as well. There was just something about the situation that made his... unnease towards Force users flare up. He knew exactly why it flared up but he wasn't going to pay a shrink to put his head back together if he fell down that rabbit hole.

That way lay madness and bitterness.

Doc seemed to think this was a stealth mission and Eisa looked as she had done before; probably the closest one of them to looking like she actually belonged this far below the surface. Honestly it wasn't even that far down in terms of levels but it was a different world entirely to the surface or the upper levels.

"Head of the Household confirmed they brought in nurses from an outside agency - one of them showed up and then he's dead. Checked the cameras and..."
his voice caught a little bit before he shook himself, "And I recognized a face from my Ranger days. Ran it through with a buddy of mine and we got a hit."

He winced as his unattended cigarette lightly burned his fingers before he threw it away.

"She has a safehouse in that apartment complex up there. Likely she knows it's compromised so we gotta head in fast."
he grimaced, "Non-lethal stuff only. You come in there with lethal shite, she'll escalate to match and there's families in there; I don't want to have to explain to mother why her baby got blaster holes in it through a wall. We good to go?"

She could feel the flare up of resentment when he glanced at her, but by outward appearance it didn't disturb her that much. She was used to this, to his mood swings, it was their third companion that would take some adjusting. At least the girl didn't seem to resent her outright; a good sign so far for cooperation. She placed a hand on her hip, over where her stun blaster sat, and merely nodded once.

"Ready when you are, boss," came the light quip, glancing towards Eisa next. Thankfully, non-lethal was her M.O. She was used to shooting to stun, it was the killing bit she was mostly up against. Unfortunately, that would be most of the galaxy she was up against in that regard. Dead was dead, sure, but it went against the code "Physician, do no harm".

She was here for a job and the extra credits, nothing more. But it seemed personal to him now.

A pensive expression crossed the fiery haired spacer's features as she listened to Lorcan explain the situation, her brow arching inquisitively as his voice faulted at the mention of there being a history with their current suspect and lead. Knowing not to press the issue, everyone had their own pasts, and not everyone was like the eccentric spacer who would tell tall tales of her past adventures and exploits if at the slightest hint of an inquiry.

What did peak her interest, if only to then allow for a shudder of nerves to run down her spine - was the mention that they would be rushing the suspect's safe house, not because of it being where the assailant was hiding, but over the revelation that it was incredibly likely that this assassin was expecting their arrival. Eisa's gaze moved away from Lorcan down to her cybernetic arm, her lips pursing as she reflected back on her time as a teenage padawan - memories of the ill fated rescue mission on Telos in the attempts to save a group of hostages from mercenary thugs.

Taking a deep breath, the fiery haired spacer nodded at the affirmation to steer away from lethal force. Her hand reaching down to her side arm, and latching the security bindings so that the removal of her blaster pistol would require a concentrated effort to remove. For the time being she would just rely on her stun baton, her Jedi training and the Force. "Ready whenever you are" Eisa spoke out as she finished securing her blaster, her gaze raising up to meet Lorcan and the Doctor. "Though if the assailant suspects she's compromised, then we should be cautious. She may have set traps in anticipation" she added, her tone loosing her usual cheerful demeanour, her bright expression shifted into a deadpan expression.

Lorcan knew enough about this prey to be both worried and somewhat assured. He knew that she was more skilled than he was in lethal combat and had the edge of Force powers as well. She was an opponent he hoped to never have to face and yet she was here, in his way, and he needed to get over that.

Rubbing a hand through his hair, Lorcan reached for his helmet. Did he need his helmet? Not particularly but he wanted it. He felt the need to hide his face, knowing he wasn't doing a good job at masking his emotions. Letting them leak into his expression was sloppy.

"The safehouse is thirteenth floor, south-west corner."
he explained as he grabbed his helmet, "I'll go in through the front door and draw her attention - I've got training in traps and bombs. You two?"

He passed them a pair of ascension guns.

"Go in through the window - it's her most likely escape route and you two being there will cut that off at the knees. Com-channel 13 alright? Let me know when you're in position."

Lorcan pulled his helmet on with a sense of finality before nodding to his allies and heading inside the apartment complex. It was... full of families and that was good. He didn't think she would target innocents.

But had he ever really known her all that well?

He called the lift rather than think about it.

She glanced over to Eisa, after taking the gun. Just before she left, she glanced over to Lorcan, amber eyes calm.

"Stay alive," she replied crisply, but that was all. It wasn't so much she enjoyed his company... but he was one of the few people she knew that didn't portray themselves as anything but what they were, and she could respect it. Giving another look to her companion, she gripped the ascension gun and nodded, stalking away.

"Alright, let's go catch a killer."

13th floor. If for some reason they were gunned down from above, the fall would do far more damage than anything their victim would probably do. Let's hope that their P.I. was an ace hand at distracting her frontways. But something else was disturbing him, and if they had to fully-face this person, she hoped he knew what he was doing.

The last thing she wanted to do was to patch herself up again after getting shot so recently. It just wouldn't do.

Time to go rappelling, and pray that there was an open window.

Nodding at the latest instructions from Lorcan, Eisa took the offered grapple launcher device with her cybernetic grasp, before turning her head towards her right hand side seemingly looking over her shoulder - before reaching up with her free hand towards the cranial remount, her fingers adjusting the audio sensory package so that it was tuned into the com frequency that Lorcan hand directed them to use.

"Gotcha" Eisa spoke out in final confirmation that she was ready to proceed, her eyes flitting over towards the Doctor as she instructed the PI to stay alive, a wry grin crossing her features at the comment - it was simple, succinct and to the point "Can't top what Doc's said" Eisa added with a light shrug, before raising up her ascension gun and adjusted the various dials on the side, her lips pursing as she looked up towards the earlier indicated external fire escapes that wrapped around the building.

Watching as Lorcan disappeared into the building, the spacer turned her attention over towards the Doctor for a moment before raising her cybernetic arm skyward, closing her eyes, she took a deep breath and cautiously started to mentally prepare herself. Allowing for the Force to touch upon her senses in preparation for the unknown they were about to face. Squeezing the trigger, Eisa fired the grappling hook skyward, watching as it wrapped around the railing she had aimed at.

If the scenario that the trio were about to face wasn't so perilous, Eisa would have greatly enjoyed the momentary wash of exhilaration as the ratcheting system took her weight, and then pulled her swiftly skyward. Once she had came to halt, the spacer quickly tapped at the cybernetics at the side of her head, offering two single beeps over the channel to let Lorcan know that for the best part the exterior of the building was now covered.

They were on their ascent and so he must follow suit, though his ascent was using a run-down lift that serviced the building. He did his best to ignore the teenage couple currently riding in the lift with him since they looked like they were currently trying their best to have sex through their clothes as they waited for their floor. Lorcan eyed them for a second despite how awkward it was for precisely that reason.

Lornica had been developing an ability, at the end of their time together, that allowed her to hide things in plain sight by making them seem uncomfortable to look at. People didn't so much as not notice her as they noticed something else, something they turned their gaze away from of their 'own accord'.

He didn't wait for his mind to catch up with his deduction.

"Central lift, third floor!"
he declared over the com-link, "Suspect is attempting exfil!"

Before she could really do anything as her mental suggestion and illusion fell away, Lorcan charged forward, spearing her with his body right out through the open doors onto the lobby of the third floor. Choking slightly at the unseen energy field wrapping itself around his neck, he growled as he physically grappled with her.

Damn it why was she smirking even when he had her right arm behind her back in an armbar?

"Should have known you'd spot that - you helped inspire it."

Shut up.

Shut up shut up shut up.

Why did her voice still sound like honey to him?

No time.

She had almost ascended past when the message filtered through, and she sucked in a breath.

Always leaving her with the difficult choices here.

A window. Easy entrance to the center. Two floors above, they'd have to be fast.

She swung hard, bracing for impact. None came. Body flew into the stone passage, somehow it was open. She couldn't explain it, and there was no time. Feet pounding towards the exit stairs, a hand on her blaster. Glancing to see if the kid was following her to the emergency stairs.

Two flights to go.

If he was dead, the only problem would be she wouldn't get paid. Their mark, however?

She'd have no problem getting her troubles revenged. But if he was actually successful, she'd have no qualms letting him be a little rough. But first, to get there.

Well things seemed to have gone blue milk run before they had even had the opportunity to even get into postion! The rushed and barked declaration that the suspect was already on the way out of the building and at the third floor. "Kriff sticks!" Eisa cussed under her breath as her attention shifted towards the doctor who was seemingly eyeing up an opening a few floor below her. Nodding in acknowledgement the fiery haired spacer switched her ascension gun over to repel, allowing her to drop back down the opening she had just passed.

Taking a deep breath as she kicked off from the wall and swung through the opening, Eisa allowed the Force to flow through her as she sprinted behind the doctor as the two made their way towards the central core of the building, slamming through the door as it swung back after Ilana had burst through it moments ago - a light grunt escaping her lips as the solid wood door smacked against her arm.

Her eyes narrowed as she regarded the coiling flights of stairs that ran through the entire length of the building's height. Without caring too much for running down the flights of stairs that would lead them down to the third floor, Eisa vaulted over the banister railing and dropped down within the central void, her hands reaching out and grabbing onto the railing at the third floor landing, taking her weight for a brief moment before coiling back as she vaulted her lower body over the railing and proceeding to burst through the doors. Her hand reaching down to the side as she summoned the stun baton to her hand as she rounded through the corridor that lead to the central lift lobby.

Bursting through doors of the central lobby, Eisa saw the immediate sight of Lorcan grappling with the female that the fiery haired spacer could only assume was the said assassin that they were after.

Lorcan wasn't ashamed to say that he was losing the grapple. When someone was choking you out using the Force and trying to use the mind trick on you at the same time... it was hard to focus everything you had on the physical confrontation.

Or at least that was his excuse for being manhandled in front of Lornica, between her and the emerging Eisa. Lornica hand one arm around his throat, choking him with her forearm rather than the Force now. Her hand reached into his coat and came back empty.

"No blasters Lorcan?"
she purred into his ear, "No knives, no grenades... not even a stun-prod. What happened to my violent little cuddler?"

Lorcan growled through the hold but didn't say anything. Lornica tutted and withdrew her own knife, pressing it's tip against the side of his neck.

"Don't move a muscle or I'll have to slit his throat... and I would lose a moment or two's sleep over that."

But they all knew she would do it.

Seeing Eisa just vault herself down two flights made her reconsider going down the stairs. Not even checking if the girl was alright, she instead took the lift.

It was right there! And definitely safer than leaping down two flights. Plus she was a civilized woman, not some youth with a danger habit. She had the feeling that if she ever adopted the Force sensitive girl, she'd go silver-haired far earlier than she should. So instead she took the lift, checked her safety catch, the spare power packs, and shrugged in her jacket.

When the third floor door chimed to open, she assessed the situation.

And pressed the emergency lock and freeze door buttons.

Blaster in one hand set to stun, she aimed it at the woman, keeping a hand free while the emergency comm started to ring for the super.

It would take a while to answer. He was answering to complaints of strange people rappelling up the side of the building, and other odd reports.

"Release and back off,"
she ordered crisply, eyes a fierce, cold gold, and her voice equally frigid. Pointed straight at their mark's torso. She would not hesitate to put a hold on her if she could... but for now, she kept one hand free.

Never underestimate a fellow Force user. Still, it was mildly bemusing to see her paid boss at the mercy of a woman a good fifty pounds lighter than him. Hopefully the kid would spring for initiative rather than wait for Lornica to see reason.

Well if she was going to be honest, from what she was witnessing as she entered the scene was sure enough reason as to why the fiery haired spacer never saw the merit in making a plan of action. Lorcan appeared to have a soundly prepared plan for how getting the assassin into custody was all to go down, two on the outside of the building ready to burst in on the flank whilst trained Sector ranger assaulted the front entrance. On paper it was flawless, on execution how ever, well their boss was currently in a strangle hold with a blade held to his neck and the assassin seemed to have the upper hand.

Sighing in resignation, Eisa complied with the woman's threats, dropping her shock batton to the floor and holding her empty hands up to her side. Best thing for the moment was to comply, not wanting their boss to have his throat slit ear to ear - but whilst they were for the moment down they certainly weren't out!

The assassin said not to move a muscle, she didn't say anything about moving the Force! With a trained level of subtleness the fiery haired spacer reached out into her surroundings, letting tendrils of the Force to stealthily snake out around her, Lorcan and the Assassin. The manipulations of the Force so soft and subtle it would easily be mistaken for the natural flow of the Force itsel, it was just now weighing on that opportune moment that would present itself.

The sudden chime and sliding open of the lift doors behind Lorcan and the Assassin, strangely enough brought in that opportune moment as the Doctor revealed herself, holding her blaster pointed at their quarries back. The stern threat and the raised blaster being the ideal moment, as with a twitch of her wrist Eisa used the Force to snatch the blade out of Lornicas hand away from Lorcan neck and into the cybernetic hand that clamped down around the weapon with a vicelike grip. Before swiftly her natural hand raised up grab at Lornicas arms to forcefully pull them away from around the PI's neck and down diagonally away from the assassins sides. - hopefully offering enough of an opportunity for Lorcan to properly apprehend the woman.

Lornica reacted to the lift arriving rather badly, her knife pressing against his skin enough to cut. It wasn't anything too serious yet but it was enough to bleed and even light cuts on the neck bled visibly. Already he was regretting taking the lift himself but what could he otherwise do?

She twisted to face the lift slightly, keeping both Eisa and the emerging Ilana in her sight lines. Unfortunately for Lorcan this meant that the knife was pressing into his neck on his right side and he was now angled slightly left-facing to Eisa.

So when the Force pull came it dragged the knife across his throat.

No one was more surprised by this turn of events than Lorcan himself but Lornica was a close second. Seeing her former friend and current hostage suddenly bleeding from the throat due to the knife leaving her hand poorly her eyes widened.

She pressed her hand urgently against his wound as Lorcan coughed, feeling blood in his throat.

"Someone get some bacta or something!"

Lorcan waved his right hand around frantically, his left hand latched over the wound as well. Was it fatal? Well it wasn't the worst wound on the throat but it was going to kill him if left unattended.

He felt something in his left hand, latched on his throat, and grimaced.

Lornica has actually now split - what is holding Lorcan is an illusion made with the Force. The wound, however, is not an illusion. Seriously? A Force pull of a knife at a throat? XD

She cursed, immediately moving in to help Lorcan and Lornica with the sudden slitting of his throat, holstering her blaster with an uttered curse. It was only when her hand phased past Lornica's that her eyes narrowed, and she glanced back at Eisa. "She's getting away!" she barked out to the girl, before using her hand to pinch the blood vessel closed long enough to access her medipack.

She had to work quickly. Bleeders like that were a common enough work hazard, provided there weren't any distractions.
"Don't move," she ordered calmly, still holding the slit closed while she worked, snagging a trach emergency set and her laser scalpel. She'd have to work fast to save him, and a short amount of time before he'd bleed out.

With one hand, she had to force a tube into his throat so he could still breathe properly. No doubt he'd be flailing, so she pinned her knee into his right arm, straddling him. Amber eyes tightened into a focused glare as she worked quickly.

Pulling her hand away on one side, she began to suture together the cut blood vessels and minor fascia, then any muscular systems in the way. She worked fast, far faster than she had ever before, and continued down the line, to the slit trachea and then to the other side.

Step one. Stabilize patient. Nearly done. Step two. Stop bleeding. Step three, repair and dress. Sounded simple, but in this fast-paced emergency there was no time to spare. She had enough in her kit to do this for now, but he would need more equipment than this to get out of it scot-free.

She began working on the other side, suturing and stitching back together. His throat would feel ragged later with the trach, but he'd thank her for it maybe.

Or give some smartass comment.

"Stay awake," she ordered him as she continued working. The smell of blood, the scarlet of it vibrant against her hands. It was warm. Too warm. She didn't like it, wanted to finish this up as soon as possible. There, done. Now bacta, wrap, tight enough to keep the pressure. Synth blood, a unit. She didn't even wait, just swabbed, searched a vein, stuck it.

Massaged the bag so he would get a unit in, then removed the bag, the needle, wrapped it up.

All in all, it took her less than three minutes to repair the cut throat. Another ten to dress properly and another five for the blood.

By the time she was done, her mouth was dry and her eyes were gritty from glaring so much. A tinny voice came from the elevator. The supervisor. He began speaking up, but her own voice was sharp, hard.

"Call emergency, now. Ambulance, we've got a bleeder."

Her face was a tight scowl. Even with the bandages, she'd maintain pressure. She wasn't stupid enough to believe her hands were able to perform miracles alone; she'd maintain that pressure until emergency services would arrive.

And then he'd have to report to her for his next checkup. And this time, she was charging him double. The whole while, however, she had forgotten about the kid, but she glanced up. Hopefully she wouldn't think of going after Lornica alone.

Kriff..... Kriff.... Kriff !!!!

Well to quote the ever present saying within the Jedi Order, This had gone well and truly Blue Milk run! The Assassin, whom it seemed mere minutes ago was trapped and cornered - was an illusion, one that what strong enough to physically hold Lorcan and deceive the two Force Sensitive females. The moment the illusion came crashing down was within a blur of dumbfounding overload of information. The Assassin had vanished, Locan was draped in a precarious position, blood gushing from his neck, a blood stained blade held within her cybernetic hand.

The barked words from the Arkanian doctor, snaped the fiery haired spacer out of her stupor. Shouting that the Assassin was getting away, shaking her head as she came to her senses, Eisa dropped the bladed weapon onto the floor with a clatter, before within a flurry of motion, spun on her heel and bolted out of the lift lobby and back towards the central stair well that she had earlier came from. Her mind running over several countless thoughts a minute, part of her trying to ascertain what in the hell had happened? Had she paid attention to the briefing and completely phased out during the mention that the Assassin was a Force user? was Lorcan going to be Ok? should she really be running towards the stairs?

The only thing that she knew for certain was that she had a sense on the Assassin's presence in the Force, giving her something to hone in on and follow. And from what she could feel the fleeing woman was a few floors down from where she currently was.

Crashing through the doors to the stair core once, Eisa once again vaulted over the railings as she channelled the Force through her body, using the energies to guide her descent through the central gap between the snaking flights of stairs. With a sudden grunt, the fiery haired spacer snatched out her arms and grabbed onto the railing of the last flight of stairs to break her fall, before dropping herself down onto the ground floor slab.

Without any hesitation, yet alone any fore thought! The fiery haired spacer continued with her pursuit, crashing through the doors and sprinting through the ground floor lobby headed towards to the front entrance of the housing complex. Her bright emerald eyes panning over the various faces and heads of the moving throng of denizens that moved about in their daily lives, looking for the slightest glimpse of the Assassin. Yet for the moment all there was, was the presence that was moving away - That will be enough for the moment, whilst most of the teachings of the Jedi, about control, patience and discipline had well and truly fallen upon deaf ears during her upbringing within the Order, the fiery haired spacer was still a capable Padawan in respect to her technique and abilities.

She had the presence that the Assassin created within the Force, and she sure as kriff was not going to let that slip through her fingers, not after what had just happened. And like a Kath hound with the scent of blood in the air, the fiery haired spacer was going to chase with an unrelenting fervour - her movements swift and purposeful as she weaved at speed through the milling crowd closing in on the Assassin.

Was she getting away? Honestly Lorcan wasn't really sure if he was taking the information in or if he was just kind of 'there'. He grimaced as more blood poured out of him but it seemed to be too little to be a killing blow. Lorcan had slit more throats than he had any right to do in the past and, in his experience, the victims tended to bleed more.

Which meant he was probably meant more as a distraction which was... nice... he supposed. At least it meant that Lornica hadn't tried to actually kill him.

He grunted in pain around the blood and the hands that pressed against his wound. Looking up at Doc he clutched tightly at her wrist. Swallowing thickly, he tried not to think about how much blood was in his throat - because blood wasn't supposed to be clogging up his throat and that was a bad sign.

"R-room... evidence..."
he urged her, pressing his own hand against the wound, "Get... get it..."

The mission came first and the mission was to gather the evidence as to who had hired Lornica to kill. Catching Lornica would be nice, he guessed, but none of them had the authority to actually arrest her for anything. They had threatening another civilian but... technically not? Did that even count if it was uncertain when the illusion began or ended?

He was too tired for these questions - his head felt heavy. There wasn't any reason not to lay down for a bit was there?

He was laying there after she just patched a slit in his throat and he was gonna order her to just leave him to go search for evidence?

She gritted her teeth. People were starting to step out to investigate. He was her boss. Orders were orders.

Besides, it was likely whatever evidence Lornica had would be with her; she had time, and opportunity. But she would still investigate.

The trach was in place to keep him breathing, and one Rodian stepped too close.
"Come here," she snapped, and he flinched, staring. "I, ah--"

"Maintain pressure around his neck until I get back or emergency services arrive,"
she snapped, rising. Just before she did, however, she knelt next to Lorcan, lightly pressing a hand to his shoulder.

"You survive. You don't, I'll bring you back to life and sue your ass for some stupid charge. Don't tempt me."

With those oh so comforting words, she stood and rushed towards the elevator, just as the Rodian maintained the proper pressure.

A quick sweep, and then she'd come right back.
